Does anyone have the link to the actual date of every single ledger live update?
You have been already given a link in the first post to their GitHub where you can see all the updates. Okay so are you saying its not possible for the social engineering message that happened with electrum... to happen with ledger live? Or its still possible?
Extremely unlikely. Ledger forces you to their own servers for everything transaction related. Someone would have to compromise their servers and find a way to send a custom message to users. I haven't checked the code, but the messages are probably hard-coded. As for the updates, Ledger Live verifies each downloaded update using Ledger's public key, so there is nothing to worry about as long as you have downloaded it from a legitimate source for the first time.

So after restarting electrum, balance is back to 0.01213365 BTC [-0.0117706 unconfirmed]. Despite cancelling the first transaction through the console, it still seems to be trying to go through. I just want to cancel it and redo the whole transaction
You can cancel the transaction by right-clicking on it and selecting "Cancel TX". I wouldn't do it, though. You will waste a lot of coins on the fees. I have just tried removing one transaction from my wallet and it has worked fine, but I had to wait a few minutes for it to disappear. Since one of the outputs is a change address, you could try using "Bump fee" again from the context menu. The fee will be deducted from that output (0.0001402 BTC) and not from the amount sent to the other person.
So all my transactions in the history tab have just vanished.... and my account balance has gone from 0.01213365 BTC [-0.0117706 to unconfirmed] to : 0.00022285 BTC [+0.0001402 unconfirmed]...
0.01213365 BTC minus 0.0117706 BTC is the same as 0.00022285 BTC plus 0.0001402 BTC. Nothing went wrong here. Your funds are safe. I don't get why your whole transaction history would disappear, though. It sounds like a synchronisation problem to me. I would try relaunching Electrum so that it could connect to a different server. Safe to say Im really scared. I just cancelled the transaction, but now a significant amount of btc is gone. No other transactions are in progress either.
In such a case, Electrum should have used RBF to send all of those coins back to you. Does any transaction show up in the "History" tab after you have restarted Electrum?
However my wallet still shows, 0.01213365 BTC [-0.0117706 unconfirmed], [...] Im not sure how there are 2 outputs, literally all ive done is broadcast a transaction, increased the fee once, and then cancelled it. I'm so confused
As ranochigo has pointed out, the other output in the transaction (0.0001402 BTC) is your change. Electrum should deduct the additional fee from that output and not from what you sent to the other person. What fee did you set using the RBF slider?
Hello, so I keep getting SyntaxError:invalid syntax after trying the console a few times. I won't lie Im still relatively new with electrum and this is the first case where I have had to bump my fee. Is there another way to cancel the transaction and send it through again?
Sorry, my bad. You should put the transaction id between inverted commas. wallet.remove_transaction("0ea2a8759bf28adf20dc6a0c8c20d27a7ae047b69fb6c24782016a4d0aa51be8")By the way, I can see that your transaction has two outputs. Isn't one of them a change address?
I want this transaction to go through asap, but I don't want to use the increase fee function if it keeps taking money from the amount I'm trying to send/not reflecting... Please can anyone help?
You have to replace your transaction manually. Enable the console by selecting "View -> Show Console". Select "Console" tab and enter wallet.remove_transaction(0ea2a8759bf28adf20dc6a0c8c20d27a7ae047b69fb6c24782016a4d0aa51be8). Now, you should be able to spend the same funds again. You can also enable the "Coins" tab and select the same input to make sure that your transaction will be replaced correctly.

You could never extract the SEED from my Trezor T. Anyone using a T that has not already eliminated that risk is simply "asleep at the wheel".
Good for you then. Enabling SD card protection requires trezorctl which cannot be installed on Windows without WSL. Even if the instructions are clear, I don't think you can expect an average user to do that. Don't forget that Trezor does not inform their new users about this vulnerability. Not everyone does a thorough research before buying a hardware wallet. They might add this feature at some point to Trezor Suite, but I doubt that they will enforce it in any way. Let's not derail this thread. If you want to reply to my post, please do it here.

Oh!!!! So this means that after i buy my coin from any exchange i need to give to them my public key in order to transfer the coins to my wallet, right? Or they provide a wallet for themselves and then you need to transfer from their wallet over to your own?
That depends on the exchange. Most of them provide a wallet which you should not use for a long-term storage. You need to provide your address to withdraw from them. If you are going to use Ledger Live then you will need to connect your device every time you want to get a new address and verify it by looking at the device's screen and pressing a button. One more question that i am wondering about, is if i want to buy a coin that is not supported by the device (eg. EOS) what is the 'proper' way of doing it? I mean is there any way of using the hardware wallet again in these cases or just wait for an upgrade from the manufacturer?
EOS is supported, but you can't use Ledger Live to manage EOS coins. You need to install third-party software and their app on your Ledger to be able to do that. If some coin does not have their own app available for installation on Ledger then you need to wait for the coin developer or the community to develop one. You can see a full list of supported coins here.

I have an Electrum mobile wallet, and am looking to get a Ledger Nano S (can't afford the jump to a Nano X at this time, and besides I understand it's still just as safe just without a few features), so please may I ask what is meant by "pairing" say Electrum with a hardware wallet like a Ledger? What does it do for you?
It means that you don't create a new wallet in Electrum, but you use an existing one which was created during initial hardware wallet setup. Electrum acts as a watch-only wallet if your "paired" hardware wallet is not connected. All the transactions require you to plug in the same device and confirm them by physically interacting with the device because the private keys are stored on the hardware wallet.
If you have any good wallet suggestions please do tell me.
I would recommend you using Electrum and Ledger Live just like o_e_l_e_o said. While you might not use all of its features right now, it is definitely a future-proof wallet. Beside the features mentioned above, it supports the Lightning Network and RBF (replace-by-fee) which is useful if you set a too low fee for your transaction. If you don't like it, you will be able to switch back to Ledger Live without any additional effort. In fact, you can use both at the same time for Bitcoin. Select "Use a hardware device" during initial setup if you decide to give it a try.

i am thinking of installing the one called "Exodus" but i don't see on their site any compatibility with the Ledger. In these cases what can somebody do? I mean...is there any way of using it and still use Ledger?
No, Exodus supports only Trezor devices at the moment. You could recreate the same wallet using your recovery phrase, but that would defy the point of having a hardware wallet. Why do you want to use Exodus in particular?

If I uninstall the program. When I reinstall, will it pick up the wallet on my PC by default? I just have one wallet in the default directory.
Yes, the directory where your wallet file is located ("%appdata%/Electrum/wallets") will be left intact.

Can anyone tell me where I messed up for failing to install this update?
Are you sure that Electrum is not running in the background? I got exactly the same error when I tried to reinstall it while I had my wallet opened. Check the task manager. You might need to kill the Electrum process manually.

Your transaction has been confirmed, so there shouldn't be any problem. Contact the support again, but this time include the screenshot and the transaction id. If they insist that they didn't receive your payment then you might been a victim of a phishing attack. I am not sure about the legitimacy of this exchange as well. There doesn't seem to be any reviews of it on bitcointalk.

Both links don't work. Try uploading those screenshots to imgur.com. You could also send us the transaction id instead. We will be able to look up the transaction in any block explorer. Double-click on your transaction in Electrum and you should see the txid at the top of the window.

I think it is like scheduled receiving time (similar to locktime when send out my bitcoin).
No, it isn't anything like that. Payment requests can help you track and label the coins you are supposed to receive. Nothing happens if someone pays early or late for an invoice. In both cases, you would receive your coins just as if you sent the other person only your receiving address. Lightning payments are an exception. You have to generate a new invoice for every payment because every invoice contains a payment hash which should never be reused.

Please help - sent BTC from the Electrum wallet to the exchanger, but the exchange request was deleted, the BTC did not reach the exchanger, but they were completely debited from the Electrum wallet after 4 hours. How to understand where BTC were debited from the Electrum wallet?
What exchange were you trying to send your coins to? If you are completely sure that the destination address was correct then your account should be credited. In such a case, you should contact the support of the exchange. You can check the destination address by double clicking on the transaction in the "History" tab. You should see at least one address in "Outputs". [...] but they were completely debited from the Electrum wallet after 4 hours.
I assume that this fragment means that your transaction has been confirmed.
