681  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Movie about Bitcoin's underlying technique on: February 13, 2018, 03:11:53 AM
For a first movie, this is good.  It is a nice way for a beginner to get a high level overview of bitcoin/blockchain.  Of course as others have mentioned the voice needs to be fixed.  Nice work.
682  Economy / Speculation / Re: A thought from an old timer... on: February 13, 2018, 03:00:58 AM
The most profitable bitcoins I ever mined, were the ones I mined when it was unprofitable to do so.

Surely the most profitable Bitcoins you ever mined would be the ones you have kept.

Well said!  Cheesy
683  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why did satoshi develop bitcoin in windows? on: February 13, 2018, 02:38:12 AM
I see two reasons bitcoin was developed on Windows:

- Satoshi wanted bitcoin to be accessible to as many people as possible so Windows at the time would have been a good choice.

- Also, Unix development of bitcoin may have given clues to the identity or identities of Satoshi being that the platform was smaller.
684  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Money can buy happiness? on: February 12, 2018, 08:13:59 AM
Money on its own cannot buy happiness, though without a bare minimum level, it's very hard to be happy.

Some research shows that many people have their own 'baseline level'. Perceived positive or negative events can temporarily move their happiness level up or down, though most people revert back to their own respective level over time.

A certain level of wealth is needed for the essentials, and without that level, it's hard to be happy. I'd define this as 'survival-level income (for one's area) plus a few minor luxuries'.
685  Economy / Trading Discussion / Checking crypto prices on: February 12, 2018, 08:06:10 AM
94% of those who own crypto currencies check them daily. I'm interested to see who often most prople here check.
686  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that bitcoin can reduce corruption? on: February 12, 2018, 04:16:40 AM
It depends on what you mean by corruption.  Bitcoin is technology that is neither good or bad.  Blockchain technology can reduce corruption when that corruption means hacking.
687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am i late to buy bitcoin now ?? on: February 12, 2018, 03:42:49 AM
Probably a good time to buy right now.  Historically bitcoin will bounce back up again.
688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Panic Sell ? / Chance on: February 12, 2018, 03:41:18 AM
Right now is a great time to buy.  Bitcoin will bounce back up.
689  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin in the future? Your thoughts about it? on: February 11, 2018, 08:01:58 AM
Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency and blockchain are the future.
690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and me (Hal Finney) on: February 11, 2018, 07:38:31 AM
Thank you, Mr. Finney for your inspirational words.
691  Economy / Speculation / Re: Many bitcoin holders have a fear they think it' bobble on: February 11, 2018, 07:08:45 AM
Bitcoin will go up again.  Just be patient.
692  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I Invest in Bitcoin in 2018? on: February 11, 2018, 07:02:23 AM
No one can say for sure what will happen with bitcoin, but right now the prices are low and if you can afford it, then it might be a good idea to buy.  Never invest more than you can afford to lose.
693  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Why does it call "market will never sleeps"? on: February 11, 2018, 02:41:13 AM
This is an older saying which I believe means you can make money around the clock. There's also a movie from 2010 with the Gordon Gekko character called "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps".
694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It advisable to quit my present job for bitcoin? on: February 11, 2018, 01:18:53 AM
If bitcoin trading is as lucrative for you as you say then by all means quit, but if you mean lucrative as in, you see other people are making money and you think you can make money as well by quitting your job, then don't quit.  If bitcoin is so lucrative for you right now then you should already be successfully making profit and have enough saved up so that if the market went down (as it is now) you would have enough money to not only pay bills and buy food, but also to purchase bitcoin or some other altcoin.  If that isn't the case right now then maybe you should wait until this does happen.  Stay safe out there.
695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long do you think will the dip continue for? on: February 11, 2018, 01:06:18 AM
Cryptocurrencies are still quite dependent on both rumors and actual news about additional government regulation, so I don't have a good opinion on the uptick, though am generally bullish mid-term.
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Problem With Bit Coin (and all crypto coins) on: February 11, 2018, 12:59:41 AM
The problem with Bit Coin, and all cryptos, is that they are nothing but a Ponzi scheme where people are looking to sell it to the next guy for a higher price.

Are you just trolling? So odd to see something like that written on a forum like this.
697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things new investors need to know about bitcoin on: February 11, 2018, 12:52:21 AM
This is not legit, but it was an interesting video to watch.  Grin
698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest now - should or not? on: February 11, 2018, 12:33:29 AM
Right now is probably a good time to buy as th price is so low.  We'll probably see things go back up soon.
699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we survive without Bitcoin? on: February 10, 2018, 07:47:31 AM
We can survive without bitcoin, but now that cryptocurrencies are here there is no going back.  If bitcoin were to disapear for some reason something else would take its place.  Just like "V for Vendetta" you can't kill an idea Grin
700  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is "cryptocurrency" a good term? on: February 10, 2018, 07:12:48 AM
Right now it is too late to call it anything but crypto currency, but as language continues to evolve the definition of the word cryptocurrency will continue to evolve with it.  Just like the word "literally" has now taken on the meaning of figuratively to fit with the use of the word, cryptocurrency will continue to evolve to fit the meaning that people have given it.  The word may not seem 100% accurate now, but it will become what the world wants it to be.
