Chelsea in general are super useless. Not keeping clean sheets and not scoring much with blank GW26 approaching fast. Only exception to that is Palmer, especially if you got him early on and have a lot of money invested in him.

Agreed. I took Sterling because they had a good run of games and now can't get rid of him because there's always something more important to tackle.
I think this is the round where he finally gets the boot - but I have to see what's wrong with Gordon before that - he was substituted at HT today.

Good decision to captain Watkins - hopefully it keeps me in the race. These extra 18 (hope he gets 3 bonus) points can be big.

it is a solid lead, if I may say
what are expected numbers in the end?

have AFC to win with a small difference, so keeping fingers, but slaman29 is on AFC to win 4+, so both of us far from point here

No idea, it's an event more than sport. I think NFC team is a bit better, I also asked my friend who is a huge NFL fan and he agreed.
Doesn't mean a thing though, but I kinda feel that I'm well placed at this point. A lot of it still to be played though.

I knew not having Richarlison would bite me in the ass - but I simply hate the guy too much. Him and Bruno Fernandes are 2 people I'll never have in any team I choose - I don't even use them in Fifa.
Now I need Sterling to do something, I'm running short on differentiators. A lot of people went with Richarlison and I'm still stuck with Gordon and Raheem.

I hope my Watkins captain pick does the trick - he should be scoring a few in that game.

Wait, am I the one who feels this is probably the first round where we didn't have pretty much anything to engage on over the midweek, and all the questions are going to be having tomorrow and Sundays, seems pretty weird to me for as long as have been here there is always at least one result getting settle every other day and the perhaps just 3-4 left for Saturday and Sunday, you Cro team decided to have everyone so nervy all weekend long don't ya ?

It's going to be a long ass weekend, 7 freaking questions over 2 days fam  Shocked

We plan to have at least 1 game per day, which is sometimes hard to do considering that we didn't know the matchups for the AFCON/Asia Cup when we were asking questions.
This weekend will be packed, and then hopefully next week we'll have a more regular schedule that offers at least something every day.

That being said, a part of the NFL question was played as well, NFC (Eli's team) is leading 12-6 after Thursday's program.

Tough call to make. Have you confirmed your picks yet?

Nope, want to see who's returning home from AFCON/Asia Cup.
Also thinking about Nunez, he's finally playing well, but he's semi-injured.

Then I also have to decide whether to Wildcard or not - but no matter what happens, I'm keeping Alvarez (and KDB).
686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 02, 2024, 07:19:30 PM
Yeah, not sure how City will line up. In their first game of the season (the one where KDB got injured) he started as no. 10 while KDB started in the middle.
I expect the same going forward - KDB paired with Rodri, Foden and Doku/Bernardo wide and Alvarez as a no. 10. He has been too good this season to be ignored.

Considering that KDB is back, I might even continue to go without Haaland. He is my single biggest mistake of the season - although KDB will feed him like a baby.

I guess you also see 6 mins Youtube highlights just the same way Trofo did to come up with that.

I watched 95% of all the games Liverpool played in the last 20-25 years Grin
When referees make a mistake, I'll say it - I have no issues with winning lucky. I even like it sometimes, it makes the losing party lose their shit even more.

However, I stand by my opinion that the big calls were good. No foul on Gallagher for sure, no foul in the buildup for Bradley's goal. Don't recall what else you mentioned.
687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: February 02, 2024, 07:13:01 PM
The worst part is, maybe the points who makes the diference are gonna be from the all stars game. Where is pure luck and anything can happen, a pure coin toss.

Could be the Arsenal - LFC game. I have Nunez to contribute, you don't, and it's the only different answer.
The news are that he's a major doubt for the game, if he doesn't play I'm losing that one. His leg was swollen after the last game, Sunday's getting closer.

I'm sure he'll want to play, so I'm hoping he gets the green light.

He'll be 40 years old when he goes there.

Don't get me wrong, the guy's a legend and is still going strong. But come on, this sport takes all you've got. Can a 42-year old guy really do it against all the youngsters anymore?

I'm sure it isn't just for PR - they will expect results from him. I just feel it's too late and find this really bizarre.
689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 01, 2024, 09:38:11 PM
The English Refs and VAR are trying so hard to hand over the EPL trophy to LiVarpool to celebrate Klopp farewell. This was by far the worse officiating this season. It was so obvious they didn't try to hide it. Lol   Grin

All decisions were spot on. By the way, Chelsea is so horrible that 20 referees wouldn't help you.

This Connor Bradley guy is also a gigachad for 4.0m.

He's going to the bench, and he's the luckiest guy ever as well. Whatever he puts in the box, someone converts.
3 assists from 0.5 xA and 2 clean sheets, replaced 2 min before the Chelsea goal.

I am happy to see him do well, but I don't rate him at all. Hopefully he gets 5 more assists like this and we sell him to some team doing scouting through statistic analysis.

Everybody doing well this round I guess. The real fun starts soon though - suddenly there are too many options to choose from and 75% of the teams near the top will wildcard in the next 2-3 GW's.

I went the 'safe' way and am currently sitting at 0/3. I thought LFC would hammer Chelsea, but the last 10 games or so were all low scoring so I changed my mind.

In the last 10 years, Liverpool scored 3+ against Chelsea only 2 times in 29 games - a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge in 2015 and a 5-3 win at Anfield in 2020.
The last 5 games before these were draws, with 4 of them ending 0-0.

If I wasn't scrapping for relegation, I'd have picked 3+. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut.

I have a slight advantage with the ice hockey question, there are 3 Canadian coaches and only 1 coach from the USA.

Nice to see this was actually investigated Grin
This was a trick question, Canada is the preferred answer.

I wanted to include the all-star because I wanted to let you know it's being played - it is in a really high-octane 3v3 format and is really fun to watch.

It was impossible to ask a good question because they draft the players and it wasn't known, so I kind of went this way - statistical advantage to those that investigate properly. 57% of participants chose Canada.

You must be mistaken,  I didn't get any 9 points free from wake over.  Matter of fact,  I won my due against Kanapka 6:3. You can check it there.

Round 1 - walkover vs Saint-loup.
Round 3 - walkover vs bullrun2020bro

That's 6, with additional 3 against Kanapka it will be 9 total. Same as Trofo if I counted correctly.
693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: January 31, 2024, 12:42:30 PM
Yeah, I'm doing ok in most, La Liga and Serie A have been humiliating though.
Lowest prize pools anyway, so I won't be complaining.

Nice to get the yellow cap, a few of these pay the entry price anyway. Shame I usually go for 50x odds on these and never win anything Grin

I know I should know this, but if Jesus doesn't even play (he had a small injury that he continued on), will that count as a void for the H2H?

Nope, it will count as a 'No'.

Regarding the spreadsheet - sometimes when you click 'Submit' it doesn't actually submit - it asks you whether you're sure you want to submit with that exact account.
If you have multiple Gmail accounts - which we all probably do - then you just have to re-select and click 'Submit' again.

That's why we've opened up the spreadsheet, so you can doublecheck if your application was successful.

It is a shame to lose Kanapka so late in the season, this will mean some changes in how Div2 table looks like.

[This is very unfair to some people.  I still don't understand why someone can't go through a questionnaire for just 10 minutes and submit. Just because you're on relegation zone,  doesn't mean you should just abandone submitting there by jeopardising other people effort. If I'm not mistaking adding Kanapka points to those who lost/drew with him, this makes it 9 free points that Trofo is getting this season and this isn't seasoning.. Danm!!!

Yep, seems like you and Trofo have been the luckiest with 9 points won from walkovers. This needs to be investigated.
695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: January 31, 2024, 10:58:00 AM
Speaking of which, everyone in his league seems to be doing battle with Haaland vs KDB vs Foden captaincy.

Most of us will take a City player as a captain, yeah.
I went with Alvarez, I expect him to play close to 90 minutes even if Haaland gets his cameo appearance.

KDB almost certainly won't go full 90 minutes and unfortunately I don't have Foden who feels like the best pick for this game.

Yesterday was mediocre for me, it's important just to survive before I wildcard. The next few GW's will be extremely important.

E nemaš pojma koliko me ljudi žica da im to radim.

We won't be tagging as per this season's rules, but some of you play important matches and still haven't submitted.

Some of you even face the 3rd, elimination penalty. 3 more rounds to go, would be a shame to see it happen Smiley

thanks
sorry to bother, but I have a question regarding 7th question too
is it just third match that counts, or total from all three all star matches (not following really, so maybe just don't understand competition)?

It's a new format, it started last year. It's in the questions mostly because we have the Superbowl coming, and because it's being played according to the Flag rules, which might be interesting for those that never watched a game like this (myself included).

We'll count only the last match, that's how the competition works. You can find more about it here.

Quote
So here is how the scoring works.

First, the winning conference from each of the eight skills events — Dodgeball, Lightning Round, Longest Drive, Precision Passing, Best Catch, Gridiron Gauntlet, Move the Chains, and Kick Tac Toe — secures three points for their team. A total of 24 points are available over the eight events.

Second, two flag football games are played on Sunday, with the winning team earning six points for their conference. A total of 12 points are available over these two games.

Finally, the points accumulated from the eight skills events, and the first two flag football games, will serve as the starting score for the final event of the week, the third flag football game. The team that ends up winning the third and final flag football game will win The Pro Bowl Games.

So, for example, say the AFC wins Dodgeball, Lightning Round, Longest Drive, Precision Passing and Best Catch. That would give them 15 points, and the NFC nine points.

Then, the teams split the first two flag football games, giving each conference six points.

That means the starting score for the third and final flag game would be AFC 21 and NFC 15. From there, the game is played, and if the NFC can make up that six-point deficit, they would win The Pro Bowl Games. If not, the AFC would be crowned champions.

Hey, what do you know, Hhampuz pulled through, so I won my bet. Not settled yet, but surely in time to put all those winnings down on him again for the upcoming final.

Took a look at the questions and saw at least two will need closer inspection but decided to wing it anyway so I'll submit right after this post. Incidentally, was watching NFL a bit on the screen over the weekend, what?

This is my bad, I was sure I sent it to Stu yesterday morning but kids make my brain fuzzy. I sent it late in the evening after Trofo made me recheck, so hopefully it gets settled today/tomorrow.
I also have some winnings to collect Grin

reading questions, and just to clarify
for 5th question what is taking into account for coach, coach nationality or current club city that they are coaching?

interesting round all over, not easy at all to be unbiased with Everton/Leverkusen within questions, but what a heck, had to be realistic

We're asking for the coach's nationality.
