Is it possible to ask a question without using a question mark?
682  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: April 05, 2014, 06:08:45 PM
Yes, but will it matter after the 15th?  Grin
683  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: April 05, 2014, 06:07:05 PM
Not necessarily, you could keep a detailed log could you not?

we could, will we quote a 100 posts from now on?

IDK, what do you think?

I'm sure he doesn't, do you?

Not sure, could someone help me out?

Out of where?

You mean out of what?

This is HUGE! A thousand dollar human genome sequencer? It won't be long till the human genome is fully sequenced!

If only they accepted bitcoin...

It wouldn't matter, millions of dollars are invested into sequencing the genome, they'll probably snatch this up unless its not as "effective" (IDK how it wouldn't be) as some other machine they have.

I stopped mining due to summer heat. Looking for best cloud mining now.
Stopped because of heat? There is this new invention called a fan... and if you're cutting edge you can for the new-fangled "air conditioning."

You could mine x11, and use the above cooling solutions.... Or use air ducts to transfer heat elsewhere (ie, outside)

691  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long does it usually take to mine a bitcoin block? on: April 05, 2014, 05:51:15 PM
i'm mining with bitminter client with my GPU that is an "ATI Radeon Caicos PRO Prototype" with a speed of 20Mhps.. how long does it take to make 1 bitcoin mining this way Huh does it worth it? or how to easily get bitcoins fast for free??? i don't wanna buy bitcoins...  Lips sealed

Basically never with a GPU....
Try an ASIC for BTC or put your card to work mining scrypt(n,jane, adaptive-n),x11,sha-3,or blake256 coins. Personally I see potential in x11.

Tax Administration has decided:
If you buy Bitcoins must
with both tax and VAT
Tax Administration has decided that Bitcoins is neither a currency or a financial service. It will turn right into your tax return if you have shopped with online currency.

Norway: "All Your Bitcoins are Belong To Us!"

So this only affects purchasing BTC with fiat or when using it? Or both?
693  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The rewards for a Bitcoin miner on: April 05, 2014, 05:46:03 PM
I've spent another few hours crunching numbers to try to work out some of the current economics of bitcoin mining as a whole. I've been interested in how much money has been generated by mining and how much has to be spent on mining hardware. I also took a guess at when the next fixed block reward will halve next time and what the current peak hashing rate might look like (assuming the best current 28 nm ASICs).

If anyone is interested then you can find the write-up at: http://hashingit.com/11-the-rewards-for-a-bitcoin-miner

It looks like you are completely omitting the added tax complexities and cost associated with US based mining, thus for me the write-up is incomplete and doesn't seem relevant for the times. Just being honest, my opinion.

I guess the interesting question is just what percentage of the mining is taking place in the US? Up to now there hasn't really been a huge tax complication and it will be interesting to see what effect that has. It's difficult to estimate the impact given a lack of any historical data.

For anyone mining as a commercial enterprise then I would expect that if any income is being reinvested in mining equipment then the tax liabilities will be marginal - it's certainly there for any individuals though.

That's the first half of the problem, US complications. I believe the worse has yet to come, as since China and USA are cracking down on BTC (regulating would be a better word here), I believe more countries will too as well as many countries look at economic superpowers and gauge on what they should do based on what USA and China did. So I believe that US percentage of miners (which I believe is fairly high, as their pretty lenient right now, even with tax guidelines) is irrelevant, as if other countries follow suit... Its not just US tax guidelines you'll have to go by, its by xxx countries.

don't want to go through all that to get approved from leasing rig as hash provider.

I doubt you'll ever get work, because thats where all the people are renting rigs from, or at least MOST of them are... Thats also where the money's at.....

Higher hashrate, more security.

If you were to evenly match the cost of hashrates between Aiden, litecoin, and vertcoin
It would take less energy and heat to create 1 mh with aiden then it would the other two.

 Huh Huh Huh

Do you really want to compare Hashrate between different Algos and then say the faster one is more secure

What a fking joke. Why not go SHA3 then its much faster then any Scrypt Algos...

Negating your only viable point that your coin separates from other Copycoins there is no reason to mine this shit.

Why not go blake256 which is 3x faster than sha256?

You could go to a leasing rig service and make it automated?
