681  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A practical way to stop procrastinating and start your investment journey. on: January 21, 2024, 09:45:16 PM
As child while growing up to the age of being called an adult there are moments in my life I have had lost opportunities especially in my university days due to procrastination. It was always an "I will do it later or very soon" kind of attitude and due to it I had certain critical position's I could have obtained in the student union government pass me by because I didn't do things I was supposed to do or participate as at the very time I was meant to have.

Those days thought me many lessons that I had to come up with a mantra " if I don't do it who will", and one other  thing more, my background motivated me to hold on to that mantra as a self motivation to do and involve into things that has the tendency to change and improve my financial background, among other things in life that my mantra has help me to take action upon with hesitation was bitcoin.  Immediately I came to a good knowledge of  bitcoin as an investment asset I took advantage of the initiative not minding the price as at that time, now today the price is three times of what it were when I first started.

Some people procrastinate because they fell that the current price that they met bitcoin is too high and probably the price will fall weigh down and they will now invest big to take advantage of the dip, but that's how they keep waiting while bitcoin keeps growing high in price than what they first met it. Start investing from where you met the price that's why we have the DCAing strategy it's for this very reason.
682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The worst situation you're in that you regret that you learn about gambling on: January 21, 2024, 06:23:57 PM
I have experience some heart breaking experience in gambling, but the one I can still remember is the one I won a bet after so many tries, and I was so excited about it, so the next day I plan on using that money to get some clothes which I really know that I needed it back then,

But the disastrous decision was that, as I set out the next day to go to the market, I have already took a cab to the market, besides the entrance of the market their was a betting shop, so I just had that thought like let me just try again if I can win more, so I went inside the betting shop and start gambling, throughout the course of the betting I was just chasing, try to recover my losses, when all my money was gone, that was when I realized how I have messed up, since then, I am very cautious when it comes to gambling. And that's why I always advise people again chasing more money after a win has been made for the day just go home and relax
683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 21, 2024, 05:42:49 PM
The game of gambling isn't something that people with low patience can survive be it the different types of gambling @sports betting  @casino games like dice and slots, patience is still the key to survive. Sometimes anxiousness and anxiety can make a gambler take decision that he might end up regretting.

Today I experience this ill feeling although am okay now but I thought I should share my experience and thought with some of the gamblers here to see if we are on the same page.

I made a very wrong decision on a game I staked today and this is unlike me because I don't normally check on my games until its settled because sometimes you will tempted with some crazy things like cash-out which is what I did today and although you won't blame me to some extent but still if I was patient enough as the final results if the games came through and Instead of winning the whole money, I got only a fraction of the funds.
It's almost impossible for you to advise a gambler to be patient, a person that gamble's wants to double his money in multiple folds, if he is a patient person in nature, then he probably wouldn't have been a gambler in the first place. In other words, if you advise individuals to be a healthy gamblers then that's more resourceful.
Catching out isn't a bad idea, you can be patient to get the full amount of your stake and the games might not go the way you predicted it to be, it is called gambling for a reason, so you better not be greedy so you don't end up blaming yourself.
684  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is signature payment for free on: January 21, 2024, 12:40:11 PM
When I woke today I was flabbergasted concerning signature payment when I viewed participate payment payroll but I was like how did the campaign managers get the funds they pay participants of their various campaigns,
How flabbergasted enough were you  Huh  For you to have existed in the forum up to a full member ranking you ought to have known all of these by now.

To your question, campaign managers are not the ones paying participants from their own pocket, it's the company that owns the  project or brand the campaign participants are advertising they are the actual payers, the campaign manager is to what can be simply referred to as an agent/coordinator of the campaign.

Quote
.
At service board I have applied in open slot that fall to my category of rank specification for signature but when I calculated the what is being spent in all the participants in different signature campaign is huge and the payment have hierarchy, now the question is what is the source of various signatures campaign having funds to pay all their participants, I think my question have repeat itself twice in this thread.

Again can we be ask to return any funds that is being paid to us in future time, most of you who has being here for long-term have you be questioned in one way to the other for refund of payments from the designated signatures campaign you find yourself into.
Just as the preceding comment, no you don't refund payments as a campaign participants, except in rare cases where the campaign manager maybe due to exhaustion out of his many busy schedule made an overpayment to the participants, he then may deduct it from their next payment accordingly, but if it happened that a participant left the very campaign to another within the week he will have to refund the overpaid amount due his former campaign manager.

Hope this answers your question.

BRENTFORD VS NOTTINGHAM
Checking their last five games brenford have conceded goals and also scored in those matches but lost 4 and had one draw
Nottingham on the other hand scored over 1.5 goals in their last 5 games, they have scored against each other in their previous matches
My prediction here is OVER 1.5
Over 1.5 is a safer option for this bet for me because both teams are about the same strength even though Nottingham Forest seems to have picked up form lately, winning two of their last league matches. Brentford on the hand, have been losing consistently but always scoring. With home advantage on the side of Brentford,  it might be difficult for Nottingham Forest to win them so the best option is both to score or simply over 1.5 goals.
This match is daisy and anything can happen in this game, both surely goals are expected to flow which makes 1.5 a good option.

ROMA VS VERONA
This should be a tight match for Roma but considering the fact that Daniele de Ross has been appointed as the new coach he would want to make a good first impression and make a mark in his first game as the coach of the club my prediction here is
HOME TO WIN
I agree with you on this one, it will be an easy win for Roma as a lot is at stake for them should they lose the match. They are strong at home so would want to maintain their enviable home record.
@Idohu did you just say an easy win! I doubt Roma will be having an easy win on this game against Verona, even if they might win the match siting the form of both teams I will prefer to double-chance X1. Not every coach wins their first match with the team.

ARSENAL VS CRYSTAL PALACE
Both teams will do their best in this match, considering the fact that arsenals  performance has been poor
Giving them a straight win is kind of risky even though there is a possibility of that
My prediction here is OVER 1.5
I dont know why it was difficult for you giving Arsenal straight win in this match, maybe you might think they are continuing their losing streak.  Well your selection of over 1.5 goals is a smart move that also ensures safety. It has already happened as the Gunners are leading by 2 goals to nil in first half.
The eventually ended in 5 goals to nil in favour of the home team Arsenal and it was a massive and convincing win that Arsenal are probably back on winning ways again even though I don't see them as title contenders anymore in this season because the top three teams on the table currently doesn't seem to be leaving any losing ends for Arsenal to catch-up with the points difference.

Op it will be beautiful you maintain just one thread to this predictions instead of recreating a new thread for each new prediction.
687  Other / Off-topic / Re: Know when to stop on: January 20, 2024, 10:36:00 AM
I think that for most people who understand gambling, knowing when to stop should be easy. When you are no longer having fun and aren’t getting the entertainment value you’re paying for, you should stop. Doesn’t matter if you’re up or down financially, the moment gambling becomes stale or boring, you should find something else to do. If you aren’t smiling, you’re losing.
Yes it is true that when a gambler does not find pleasure in gambling and finds gambling boring then he should abstain from gambling and stop all gambling activities. When this time will come only a gambler himself can understand. And when a gambler finds himself repeatedly losing gambling bets, he should stop himself from gambling permanently or temporarily and stop gambling altogether. But no matter how socially rehabilitated a gambler is, it will not be possible to stop him from gambling if he does not understand and stop himself.
Not all gamblers gamble for pleasure or to catch fun with the activity ND for this category of gamblers it's all about the money making and temporary quiting or a break is as though they are wasting away a period they could have been fortunate to get that big win that could transform their life. There's no stopping in their dictionary, fro them stopping because you're losing is attributed to being weak. Giving a rehabilitating support to this set of gamblers  is really tough.
688  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why they need a license if bitcon is not money? on: January 20, 2024, 04:34:06 AM

Not long I raised a topic titled License: is it a guarantee?, in it I was questioning the assurance of a licence casino not to scam or in anyway trample on its customers and most of the replies made in that thread emphasized on the possibility of licensed casinos to still scam their customers despite having a license that puts them on regulatory watch, and it got me thinking.

It really got me thinking, as in, why then does license matter matter so much to gamblers about a casino instead of it's reputation over the years. In as much as a casino has been up and doing over length of year reputably rendering unquestionable gambling services to their customers without even obtaining a license then such casino ought to be encouraged by those of us that are in support of decentralization of bitcoin by massively make use of their service, because such a casino is invariable leaning and promoting the ethos of decentralization against KYC requirements that licensed owned casinos are mainly known for as a result of the regulatory policies binding them through the license.
689  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Holding fiat not the best against Inflation on: January 19, 2024, 06:39:43 PM
Naira falls massively this week trading around #1370 this is getting similar to the rises around last halving
How do you think Naira would cope when Bitcoin beats ATH?
I nor really sure say government fit help ahn currently.
We dey experience persistent inflation and dem neva still do anything.

This one na proof of the failure of fiat instead of ahn to appreciate e dey Depreciate compare to other product.
Holding fiat not the best against Inflation
Land na one good example of wetin to get wey dey appreciate but u nor fit buy ahn really in minute quantity. This i believe is where investments like bitcoin comes in.
The rapid fall of the value of the Naira in the parallel market is something that should be of a trembling concern to the government as it's an indication that the economy of the country isn't improving contrary to what we get from the government controlled media.

Pegging the Naira to the  Dollar I would advise that we all save our money in dollar because saving your money in Naira in the bank it doesn't add any interest on it but rather your money continues to lose value compared to the cost of goods and services in the country as prices keeps skyrocketing.
The best hedge to your money is to save it in dollars. That's how you can help yourself fight the biting inflation in the country your money.
690  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: A Skill or a degree on: January 19, 2024, 02:51:06 PM
Plenty reasons why skill dey important pass degree na say di job market dey always change. Wit new technologies and methodologies wey dey develop every time, many of di skills wey people bin dey consider important before fit no dey relevant again. As result, employers dey look for candidates wey fit quick quick learn and adapt to new skills, instead of people wey get degree for specific field.

Again, degree dey often refer to broad category of knowledge, while skills dey refer to specific ability or expertise. Employers dey find people wey get specific skills wey go fit meet di exact needs of their company, instead of general knowledge wey fit no dey useful.

For conclusion, even though degree still fit dey important for many people wey dey find job, e no be everything when e reach to get job or move forward for career. Employers dey look more and more for people wey get specific skills wey go fit apply directly for the job and fit help the company succeed. For today job market, e dey important pass ever to focus on develop skills wey dey demand, so you go fit increase your chance to get job and move forward for your career.
Op me I wonder what you understand by skill, is it that you no know say for university skill disciplines dey there or abi as them call am professional courses you no come understand am abi? You see courses in the university like engineering courses such as architecture, civil engineer, electrical and electronic engineering, medicine, nursing, pharmacist etc all these can also be classified as skill based jobs gotten from the university but they are referred to as professional disciplines.

There's no competition at all in this matter, any of the area way you are opportune to find yourself just do your best to be the best there to keep you outstanding. For what I know, no how way craft skill man go earn money pass person wey be graduate get certificate wey their two the work for the same company. But based on how we country just get as it be, it go good say you get one better skill immediately you finish secondary school before battling to gain admission into university to obtain university degree. E get why ooh.

After your 4 matches I do add my own 6 matches lemme see the outcome I know that is purely on luck based but there is no assurance towards the winning so anyone staking these games should only stakes on what they can afford to lose.
Just out of concern I will advise next time you want to play a bet from a prediction given to you be contented with whatever amount the total odds of the prediction produces because adding external predictions to the games can cost you an opportunity you have gotten to win money assuming all the predicted games you were given played as predicted.

Based on experience I have lost an opportunity to win money adding my own predictions to a game I was given to play, all I wanted was the potential win to increase to my desired amount and I guess that was greed. Before my very eyes all the games played as predicted except for the games I added on my own accord.

I like always winning free predictions Smiley
OP if you want post more you're welcome.
I am pretty curious also to read more about your experience, what type of game you like, tips for betting and much more...
Lol, who don't like free things!  However, just as Op had earlier said don't fail to bet with an amount of money you can afford to lose no game is sure and guaranteed.  Also, don't out of your euphoria about the free predictions use money that you never budgeted for gambling.
Let all gamble responsibly.
692  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Death sentence trap as people choice hustle on: January 19, 2024, 01:28:42 PM
. Crime like  kpo fire, human trafficking, drug, organ harvesting, kidnapping etc
Op just a point to air-mark all what you mentioned for sure are crimes but, kpo fire or bunkering in my own opinion is not a crime, and. I'll tell you why.

The government are a major problem to the incessant increase of kpo fire camps in all the creeks of the Niger-Delta when they have failed and refused to use this resource to better the lives of the host communities and dwellers from where this resource is been extracted from. The source of livelihood of the people such as farming and fishing has been destroyed by this same resource (oil) that the government has unendingly be extracting thereby causing oil spillage to the soil and rivers if the people of the Niger-Delta while they gain nothing but wallow in abject poverty while a source of making money lies behind their backyard. What do you think would happen?

Secondly, provide a licence to these local kpo-fire /bunkering expertise that are now into this business which you the government have now tag illegal, for through the provided license and government regulating the process these guys can pull out finance together and build  modular refineries that will function in an international standard and will help reduce the price of PMS, kerosene, gas etc while they pay tax to the government, but rather the government choose to sit on the reality in their own selfish interest using the media to blacklist the bunkering actors.

While in the northern part of Nigeria (Zamfara) they have gold that is been mined by the local community dwellers whereas it was supposed to be the property of the FG just as they claim the oil to be a property of the FG but nobody is saying or doing anything or attacking those mining the gold's  over there. So mate, this is all politics weigh beyond us.

The government knows the right thing to do let them do it and stop labeling kpo fire actors criminals, as it will help saves lives and reduce the cost of cooking gas and PMS/kerosene. Mind you, if not for all these kpo fire's we won't have been able to have access to kerosene or even afford it.

The only similar thing that happening in my country is the surging of housing price, other than that I think it's slightly different. The salary growth is not stagnant, the average salary has been tripled compared to 10 years ago in here. And there are definitely more and more people buying cars. I think there are a lot more middle-middle and upper-middle class than lower-middle class and an actual poor people, less people are unemployed tho it still many.
Out of curiosity I earnestly like to know in what part of the world are you talking about even in this economic melt down that is ravaging the economies of every country, because what you have just said sound like in the movies to my knowing. I will well appreciate you attach a research data backing your claims.
Thanks.

My non-expert guess is that the economic crisis hit harder on the developed nation than on the developing nation and 3rd world nation.
Sorry mate, your guess is not correct. A simple example to clarify issues here is by looking at the rate of migrants moving from the third world nations to the advanced developed nations of Europe and the WEST.

If the economic crisis hits milder in their own country's they will not be flocking to the developed nations for greener pastures where you're guessing that the economic crisis is hitting harder there.

Like you said, it's a non-expert guess.

All that being said, I do agree that a change would improve global economic in general.
I totally agree that a change will bring about an improvement but how can this change be achieved as recent recommendations by economic experts has  proven nothing of improvement rather the global economy keeps getting harder every day.

So winning that money he quickly went ahead to get a new bus to continue his public transport business. From his voice he seems like one whose lost hope has been restored by that single win. Gambling can be a life saver too for it's not as bad as non-gamblers portrays it. To all gamblers' when you get lucky make good use of your gambling win do not chase for double portion.
It's like a fairy tale where he can quickly recover his condition because of unexpected things, but of the many gamblers with various types of gambling, only a few can make life-changing results, even if focusing on good bankroll management is not a guarantee of being able to make a profit. which if continued to be collected can be used to buy something that can provide passive income to us.
Stories like this will certainly inspire but hopefully not make people think of gambling as a way to change finances because this is a dangerous mindset because not all gamblers will face the same reality, maybe even the percentage is not up to 10% of those who can make a big profit from gambling, so just be inspired without changing the way we gamble because everyone has different limits.
The Op wasn't created with the aim to inspire gamblers to deviate from their responsible gambling norms and start chasing after wins thereby gambling irresponsibly because they also want to make a huge win like the gambler the Op talks about.

But it's rather dispatching a message for gamblers that are in the course of gambling are lucky to win huge money, to judiciously make use of their huge gambling win putting it into a business or any project that can be fetching extra income to them and not to behave stupid like it's common with some gamblers that still continue to gamble away all the big win they were luck to win, all in the hopes of getting another bigger win than the previous only to end up losing it all.
695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 18, 2024, 09:05:25 AM
How can one control the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on once life.

It's getting worse every day. I'm extremely depressed I have thoughts of unaliving myself more often, some times I feel the betting companies manipulate people spiritually to get them addicted where be playing without plans and strategy. Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.
Take it easy on yourself buddy, good a thing you have that realization that you have turned an addict to gambling at least with this consciousness in you you can work it out with the support of your good friends and family to find possible solutions to whisk you out.

Your addiction didn't all happen in one day so don't be to hard on yourself to get rid of it in a very short time, it's going to be a gradual process provided you're intentionally serious to deal with it. From your detail explanation it appears you're a sports bettor, so I'll advise if you have played one or twice bet for the day affirm it to yourself that it's enough for that day. Take it upon yourself not to exceed twice a bet in a day, continually do this then gradually you will find it easy to drop to just one bet in a day and before you know it you can go on a whole day without carrying out any gambling activity.

The mistakes made by some gambling addicts that wish to stop gambling addiction is that they think it's something that has to be stopped at once, they forget it's an attitude/behavior they have built overtime and it needs a gradual process to also quell it totally and not an instant result stuff. An instant result strategy may turn a boomerang and worsen the addiction. Take note!

As a responsible gambler it gladdens my heart always whenever I hear a fellow gambler testify of how he won a bulky amount of money from be it a bet or lotto and uses that money to inject into something meaningful for himself.

It all happened on my way home just this evening. I boarded a public bus and just in front of me were seated two young men too in their late thirty's having a conversation and from the conversation it sound like they haven't met for a long time and one was telling the other of how he had won a big amount of money from a lotto he played and he has used the money to get himself a new bus for public transportation business.

According to him, he once had a bus before which he was using for the transport business (carrying of passengers) but was seized and confiscated by the authority for he used it in conveying contraband goods of which he was hired to carry to some location by the goods owner on the way law enforcement agents stop them did a search and that was how he lost that vehicle.

So winning that money he quickly went ahead to get a new bus to continue his public transport business. From his voice he seems like one whose lost hope has been restored by that single win. Honestly these fairytale stories that constantly seem to pop up on the forum are a bit ridiculous and barely comprehensible or logical half the time. You know contraband usually refers to illicit goods, right? As in he was breaking the law and that's why he got a vehicle seized, so is hardly in need of sympathy. How does he jump from running a public transportation business, which would suggest he is carrying passengers, and end up transporting goods instead?
It's a pity you assume this real life story to be a fairytale but it's cool, you can see it in that light or which ever way you choose however I don't know why I should be cooking up fairytale story as this I wonder who I am impressing here.

Over here people buy 18 seaters buses a good example is Toyota Hiace bus and use it for intra-urban  transportation business, a single individual can decide to hire the bus for a short time service for his private use (provided he can pay for the service) either to carry some items or goods for them to another location. And it's a common thing over here in my country. Anyways, I don't have anything to prove to you real or fairy tale, the message from the story is clear and that's what I have just shared as I witnessed it.

There is no investment that is totally risk free, likewise there is no investment that feature only gains
An investor is a risk taker, someone that puts his money into a business, an asset or property having the expectation that profit will be made. For It's a move taken under expectation for profit that means in that expectation it is likewise possible that things can go bad and the investment fail to yield added value. That's the risk.

Consequently, I'll advise that potential investors shouldn't adopt the way of thinking I have seen some persons do where they invest into cryptocurrency without having a basic knowledge of anything crypto first, their idea is that they will learn about it after they have invested. It is a wrong attitude, the best way is to learn, gain the knowledge about what you're to invest your money on before you take a decision based on what you have known. What if after investing under crudeness then later learnt about it only to dislike what you have learned (maybe due to its volatile nature) and you regretted wishing you hadn't invested based on that area of risk.

Only invest in what you know.
700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cashout or wait till the end? on: January 17, 2024, 09:33:22 AM

cashing out or waiting till the end of game which is more better?
Days before now I read a post about a young man whose phone screen malfunction denied him from cashing out an amount of money from his bet which could have significantly changed his life. Am convinced that if that young man is offered this option to cash out $1Million for a game he played with just $3k+ he won't think twice neither will he hesitate to cash it out.

As gamblers we should be pragmatic in dealing with decisions in our gambling life especially of this nature. What business will you delve into with $3k+ that will give you returns of $1Million within hours? Now that's the mindset that if put in place you will come down with the conviction that cashing out this money is the best option you can give to yourself as a gambler. If I should be waiting for the end of the game to cash out $31million instead of the $1Million in front of me, what then is the assurance that the game is definitely ending in my favour? For this reason, I will just cash out that $1Million in peace.
