682  Other / Meta / Re: Other Forum members are more civil than Legendary members, Why? on: February 01, 2024, 01:27:36 AM
I want to agree with what you are saying but I find it not totally accurate because I have seen both low position members who are bullying other ranks too. It's not just a custom that legendary rank bullies low rank every time without any cause, there are usually some repetitive mistakes by some fellow newbies which tempts the legendary make harsh comments.

It's not all the legendary rank on the forum that does what you are saying, most legendary are very civil too. You don't expect member on this forum to actually behave in the way that can only please you and displeas them or someone else. It's a free forum and anyone can say what ever they feel like.
I would like to correct a misconception here which is the word bully, it's never supposed to be seen as bully but correction, I don't know why most people think that when they get corrected or they witness disagreement with their ideals that is a bully.

Most time some people are just pissed off on how low quality some statements are and hence correct such statement with high turn or disagree totally with the ideal and I don't see it as bully especially when it comes to high rank member speaking to a low rank member it's considered bully immediately.

How often do you guys see legendary members bully each other as speculated except in the reputation board where they all try to maintain their reputations hence misinterpreting each other's words, I have personally observed people like Pmalek and NotATether when they are corrected whether by newbie or high rank member they return such favour with merit and I believe that it's lack of merit that makes most newbies think they are being bullied.

I agree with the second paragraph of the comment it's just the simple truth.
683  Other / Meta / Re: If I'm Satoshi Nakamoto How do I prove it? on: February 01, 2024, 12:47:07 AM
This  curiosity questions has been asked and answer several times in this forum.

I don't think any of this will ever happen because it's been decade since Bitcoin launch and Satoshi did not show up so its never gonna happen.

And I have been hearing rumors that Satoshi Nakamoto is dead already I don't know if it's true or not but believe me his never going to show up any day.

For sure if he was alive or shows up any time, what ever action he takes will have a positive and negative effect in Bitcoin market but not Bitcoin it self because bitcoin is not centralized or should I say everything that happens in Bitcoin is decided by me and you and the bitcoins devs.

Finally I will say you should wake up to reality and stop asking too much questions there is alot going around bitcoin that you should be worried about not all this past curiosities.
684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At a range of 2years, can a Bitcoin literate invest with a borrowed fund in BTC? on: February 01, 2024, 12:23:41 AM
I know you judged it already that is not good in any way to invest in Bitcoin that is already a risk of its own with a more risk as borrowing from anybody whether bank or relative.

There is a quote in my place that says whatever you achieved with a borrowed money is never yours. that means even if you eventually succeed with the ideal you will keep being in debt whether directly or indirectly.
Nobody is advise to rush into Bitcoin instead go get a job and invest with what ever you get from the job.
685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin on: February 01, 2024, 12:09:15 AM
Long time ago I was working so hard to buy Bitcoin but I couldn't because I had no job,
Firstly this statement is fallacious.

but starting from this
month of January I have gotten a new job that pays me 5 figures a month and I just use $110 from my salary to buy Bitcoin,so as today is the last day of the month I just bought Bitcoin with part of my salary.
However, I bought it from a 3rd party through the help of a co-worker at my working place.
Well congratulations on your first Bitcoin purchase, although there is a thread that discusses Bitcoin achievement records etc so you could just post your first Bitcoin purchase there.[1] Also making use of search button [2] regularly is very crucial in order not to duplicate or repeat things too much.

So, is it safe for me to store my coin there or is there any other wallet I can use to store my coins? I know of electron electrum but apart from the electron electrum is there any other wallet which is safe?.
If there is any good wallet that people will suggest you should use it's just electrum but there are other wallets that you could use e.g sparrow wallet, Blue wallet etc but not there are not as good as electrum which you already know of.

My profile shows that I am still new on Bitcointalk and I would say with my actions I am very interested in learning more about the accumulation process so I can gain more Bitcoin.
I'm also a newbie but I know of a thread that has so much insight on Bitcoin accumulations which is buy the dip and hodl[3] in that thread JayJuanGee shares alot of knowledge on healthy Bitcoin accumulation. There is another thread you might want to visit which is JJG's Outline of Bitcoin Investment Ideas[4]

686  Economy / Economics / Re: Why does a country borrow money from the world bank even when they can afford it on: January 31, 2024, 11:17:53 PM
If I'm to answer this question it will be biased and an aggressive answer that might sound like agitation in the wrong place and time.

BTW, I don't really know why they choose to borrow for some useless reason of development projects but I will say that the disadvantage of borrowing is far higher than the advantage so what's the purpose of borrowing if not and alliance with foreign countries in order to suppress the debtors mean while the national leader who takes this actions has a selfish interests for such action.

Infact there is a shadow party in borrowing from world bank that makes developing countries like mine to run debts.
687  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Almost made a bad investment decision today 🥺🥺 on: January 31, 2024, 08:59:16 PM
There is this eagerness i see in newbies like me which is trying to meet up with Altcoins because they're unfortunate not to have invested in bitcoin when it was little so this eagerness has led so many to making wrong decision while some are favoured, at the same time some still fail in the process.

You know one good thing about trying is it helps you to gain more knowledge. So I guess you most have learnt through the had way that trying to venture into what you don't know can make you go broke as fast as possible. Experience is the best teach and it most have thought you now. You know one major rule of investment is doing research and you as a newbie should be in line to know this even though your new here because everyday this rule is always talked about.

It's not bad to invest in Altcoins oh but of you are doing it you should be more careful on decision making.
Don't be carried away by this Bitcoiners who has now turn Bitcoin to cult that no coin is worth investing. you most know that there are many opportunities that comes ones in a year through altcoin that you can blow up but be ready to take it's consequences.
688  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Difference between bitcoin investment and trading on exchange on: January 31, 2024, 06:33:44 PM
The difference between Bitcoin investment and Trading is very clear and this facts that you stated are the most common of them all, hence most of us have heard of they of even practicalized them one wey or the other.

For a start the two categories of involvement in crypto market are very good but one only is higher risk than the other and believe what ever has the highest risk usually have the highest of profits.

Bitcoin investment is not only about the long term investment it also contains but short and long term investment. The long term investment in Bitcoin only requires the basic prerequisite of holding for as long as you wish which is must advise to be at least a 4-6years to 10 years of holding as the long term investment. the basic prerequisite of Bitcoin holding are;
[1] considering your cash flow; this part is very crucial tht it has to do with how much you earn and the percentage that you will have to put into Bitcoin investment because you have to only investment what you can do without for a long term. (what you can afford to lose).
[2] having an emergency funds that can cover your expenses for at least 4-6months long, this emergency funds is one of the major requirements that will let an investor hold his/her stash for a long term, it covers but the unforseen circumstances of life e.g medical bills, car maintenance etc.
There are other requirements but this I will only discuss for now although others are not too obvious as this two.

For trading it requires a whole lots of job that starts with acquiring a some level of knowledge about the market from the historical movements of price to the current status, and this special skills for trading is what makes it more expensive to trade than just hold. in only you don't have any job to do than secure your wallet by using some strong wallets like Electrum but for trading you most not opt out of the market for a minute if not it might result to running some loses.
Trading is considered gambling because its profits are not guaranteed you could be a professional and yet keep losing do it's some times about luck that is why most people do not go into it.
689  Economy / Economics / Re: Tech Layoffs on: January 30, 2024, 11:22:29 PM
Personally I don't think it's time for AIs for being the reason for layoff in any job yet because it's still a speculation that AIs will take this jobs but not now.

The number is quite a whole lot of people and this action from my perspective might be as a result of capital intensive job and not labour intensive, do the company must have look at the rate of jobs handled by this people and it's running a loss so it have to let go of some people as far as it can do without them.

Although this account might also be as a result of recession in the economy but still doesn't warrant such high number of layoff maybe the CEOs are looking into other area and not the tech aspect anymore.
690  Economy / Economics / Re: Leadership and Economics on: January 30, 2024, 11:10:49 PM
Of course I agree with you, the life of a leader sometimes affects the lives of the ordinary citizens based on decision making system, if a good leader makes a good decision for his or her jurisdiction it betters the standards of living of the citizens that are being led vice versa.

now there are many examples of countries experiencing good economic growth because they chose the right leader
I disagree with your choice of word.

This doesn't apply in every situation because here in my country the citizens can chose a different leader and another leader will emerge as winner and not can be done about it. so the word chose it what I disagree with instead let's say [because they have the right leader]. Here I my country external forces affect the national decision making, even to the extent of decided the leaders that will lead in an independent country ( Sovereign nation)  so the choice of its citizens doesn't count in this situation.
691  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The danger of gender inequality on: January 30, 2024, 10:40:45 PM
Edited out
I don't know if op is a male or female for his ideology of inequality but i have a few more things to ad to his knowledge of life.

The social strata is of a hierarchy for a reason because if everyone becomes equal there will be no superior nor inferior and this will lead to a social crisis. There must be one who gives command and one who obeys this command and that it's how human race had evolve from origin.

The so called embittered mind individuals who agitate for equality in every sector of life are more likely to seek there personal/ selfish aims and after achieving this goals will tend to decamp from the feminists headed groups. and I believe op was unfortunate on this job position, I mean he or she must have a personal reason (selfish aim) for thinking what the CMD did was an act of inequality or discrimination.

Mind you I'm not in support of discrimination but I love things being put to order. let the truth stand and don't be biased OP.

Firstly, Op your writing is very poor you should start by improving your writing skills or you can use some good AI tools such as Grammarly [1] and Quilbot Grammer checker [2] to correct your grammatical errors and spellings.

Secondly, this issues of writing on a notepad before copying and pasting on the forum text space has been discussed several times and I better solution has been issued by @Tryninja through this [Userscript] Auto-Save your posts to drafts[3] to help improve the forum experience. With this script you can write as much as you wish here in the forum text space without having issues of deleted text as a result of page been refresh accidentally.

693  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Where should I start from on: January 29, 2024, 05:32:57 PM
Well based on my understanding there is no special resources that are been studied to be part of the technical discussions.

I'm also a newbie interested in technical knowledge but I know what is required is a basic knowledge of coding.

And the rest of the discussion are literally in this website https://learnmeabitcoin.com/technical/ but you have to take a little time and study it.

I guess that's the stage I'm in.

Edit: you can still learn by staying active here even if you don't contribute yet but just observe you will begin to understand the terms gradually and I have my own way that in using to learn which is studying the posts of any tech poster here.
694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: January 28, 2024, 10:15:24 PM
Also not just have one source of income, make it more than two or even three if you can although three sources of income is already too
One thing I can tell you is, even if you have all the source of income and you're not prepared for investment you will still have to run some loss.
All you have to do is get your cash flow in a good condition and set out an emergency funds that can serve you at least for 6 months and minimum 3 months which is still not good enough but at least it can save you.

Another thing is your investment most not be all you got in life, you have to learn only to invest what you can do without for a very long time. ( what you can afford to loss).

As far as you have all this covered your good to go although you most have a basic knowledge of what you're investing on especially investing in Bitcoin.

698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong Moves With Your Bitcoin on: January 28, 2024, 11:12:03 AM
Apart from not having Bitcoin from the start I think I don't have to regret on Bitcoin or I haven't made any wrong move yet. the only thing I would have said is my regret is not use my snacks money to purchase Bitcoin after I knew about Bitcoin but I guess at that point investment was not what I was thinking about.

Fun fact; I'm just a very few years older than Bitcoin lol.. maybe I'm lucky to even get exposed at my age.

For you Op, its normal to get bored if your not certain or if your not motivated like the way people gets motivation from this forum. but you only went too far by dropping much of your stash to that altcoin but well we gat to leave past behind.
699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin hidden gems. on: January 28, 2024, 10:56:04 AM
Well for me I haven't really found a trust worthy altcoin or as you called it a gem, none has gotten my attention yet but I'm still on a look out if I can find any. as Adbitco said ECLD is good from his perspective but I'm still gonna do my research on it. If it's worth my investment I will make a try and see how it goes.

But for now there is no hidden gem for me.!
Some persons are still complaining that they don't trust altcoins, how do we intend to make profits from the market if we are only investing in Bitcoin only. I'm not trying to tell us that we are not going to make profits from holding Bitcoin but it might be time consuming. We need to be ready to take risks for us to make money from cryptocurrency. We need to split our investment into different projects so that we can make diversified profits.
don't get me wrong buddy! I haven't found a less popular coin or token as OP specified I'm not saying there are no trusted altcoin, because I know Ethereum, BNB, Matic etc that has made significant effect in the market but I(Churchillvv) have not found a token that is not yet popular to invest in because of the risk involve, the risk I'm not taking us because I don't have enough capacity not that im not interested in them but the funds and experiences to handle all the result is what i don't have at this point.
700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How would you measure your success in Crypto currency on: January 28, 2024, 09:25:34 AM
I don't know what you consider success but I don't see success from any other person's perspective. my success comes when I'm being enough to dream big and it's coming through from where I expect it, I consider success as doing something that no one else has done.

Although all this might boil down to one thing having financial freedom but if this is term how many altcoin I have accumulated I don't see myself as successful because this coins are volatile and can reverse and make you broke in hours.
