>12 hours and already >22000 blocks, database size ca. 50 MB. I wonder what it will be like in one year.. of course if YAC will be alive

683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [YAC] How to set up port forwarding for Yacoin on a wifi router on: May 08, 2013, 06:32:40 PM
I think that when you got many connections your chances to get your block accepted on the network are bigger.
684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [YAC] How to set up port forwarding for Yacoin on a wifi router on: May 08, 2013, 06:30:23 PM
I think every client has different address, e.g. 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3 and so on. In linksys I can assign one IP in a row, so try adding another rows for rest of your IPs.
685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] yacoin: yet another altcoin. START is now. on: May 08, 2013, 06:21:19 PM

686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [YAC] How to set up port forwarding for Yacoin on a wifi router on: May 08, 2013, 06:20:37 PM
After this change I have more than 25 connections, before only 7-8.

1. Open your router admin page (for linksys is http://192.168.1.1, for others see guides).

2. Go to Application/Single port forwarding

3. Enable port 7688 for your internal IP address (find it on ipconfig /all).

This should look like this:

Use this IP address in point 3: - it should be "IPv4 address" after typing ipconfig in a command window.

I hope it helps Smiley Good luck with YAC

For those getting lots of orphans, setting up your port forwarding for port 7688 should fix it, soon as i got my 'number of connections' from 8 to 60 or so most of the blocks i mine become confirmed. and im now up to over 1100 yak coins

How to do it on win7 with a wifi router?
688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Official YACOIN Orphan Blocks Thread on: May 08, 2013, 05:43:02 PM
6 hrs on i5-2520; 12 orphans. I think I was mining the wrong chain... when I copied wallet.dat to another PC I got some strang error and yacoin closed. I had to start with a new address...

Great idea, a real innovation in altcoins. A chance to mine coins and gain positive Karma at the same time.
Good luck!

Would anyone mind posting link to good solo mining setup guide?

you can use the client, nothing else required
for better results on CPU I suggest this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=55038.0

the successful currency is the one that EVERYONE can have a piece of  - but we haveto think about malicious intentions of Governments and Institutions , as well as just plain greedy people, nothing wrong with greed, its just the malicious nature of it that causes the problem.

+1

It looks like BTC and major altcoins are going to 20/80 model, just like in the real economy, where 20% of users/holders have 80% of wealth/coins..

20/80 is everywhere. If you don't want that you can start CommunistCoin Cheesy

A CommunistCoin... Smiley Yes, why not. Maybe someone will try to create it. Only for solo mining, totally resistant to botnets, GPU farms etc.

BTW, I was born in a communist country, it wasn't as bad as many think. Free public education and health insurance, free holiday trips once a year etc. No hungry and homeless people on the streets, unless they really wanted to be homeless.
