681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins are dead ? FinCEN investigation! on: May 14, 2015, 06:14:10 PM
No matter how much those hacks try to fuck with your freedoms, we will always find a way out and the cryptoworld will continue, with Bitcoin, the few good alts, and the lot of shitcoins altogether. This is unstoppable forever.
682  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I start Investing USD? (Betterment?) on: May 14, 2015, 06:09:05 PM
USD is a good option.

The dollar will soon  be worth more than the Euro. After all, it's not just the Euro that's falling against the USD, but almost every other currency in the world too. Why is the dollar up so much?? Well, the simple story is that the strong your economy, the stronger your currency so it's better to invest in USD.

I strongly disagree. Past performance is not an indicator of future gain. To the contrary, the biggest gains are made with investing in assets that have comparatively low valuations at the time of investment. Investing in something that is valued high (in the hope that the trend will continue) only increases risk.

I would not invest in any fiat currency. It's worthless debt money that can be inflated at will, backed by nothing other than thin air and lip service of politicians. You're taking a huge risk owning only fiat because giving the extreme levels of government and private debt worldwide, this experiment is likely to end soon.

If you want to invest, choose assets that are liquid and can't be inflated at will: Precious metals, certain stocks (obviously selection matters), and Bitcoin. If you have a long term perspective and a greater amount of cash you could also diversify into less liquid assets like forest properties (in addition to owning an inflation-protected property, you can get returns from wood sales).

Also, there is no easy way to become a successful investor. It's work. You have to inform yourself and stay informed. Most of all you have to be very critical of any information others will give you and do your own research. Invest in assets that are solid, but currently out of favor of the crowd. When investing, you should (at least to some degree) be able to control your emotions and stay rational as well.

ya.ya.yo!

How can you say that Bitcoins value would be more then USD in future? Future is uncertain and so Bitcoin is  You cannot be sure that Bitcoins will give you more returns in future. As USD is the strongest currency of all you can guarantee that you will not be at loss in future.

Lol, do you really think USD is a good place to make gains? USD is destined to collapse if anything, or to stay stable if they can keep the scam running by printing more money for at least our lifetimes. But don't count on any gains. The green fields are on Bitcoin, not USD.
683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Satoshi's coins be deleted? on: May 14, 2015, 05:59:24 PM
Erm, how can Satoshis coins be deleted?
If that was possible then the Gox stolen coins should be deleted too.

There shouldn't be any coin deletion, instead they should be sent to the address in my profile  Tongue
Deleting coins doesn't make sense. Thinking like this would only mean that OP has no clue how the blockchain work.
To effectively delete them, it would mean the history since the deletion of the coins would be lost, in other world complete nonsense.
684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Satoshi Nakamoto" is an anagram for a secret NSA op on: May 14, 2015, 05:58:02 PM
Dude, you should send your resume too Infowars.com and write articles for them, you could land a good job on there.
685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin? on: May 14, 2015, 05:57:11 PM
Bitcoin is the biggest network in the world, more than all supercomputers running together, thats why.
And any other analogies you want to make (look what happens with myspace etc) will never work, because Bitcoin is decentralized.
686  Economy / Speculation / Re: 21 splash! on: May 13, 2015, 08:08:09 PM
In the future all online advertisement related business will be dominated by BTC. Adsense will get replaced because it's just outdated and annoying as fuck. You'll get paid directly to your BTC address without depending on the Adsense+paypal mafia.
687  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: May 13, 2015, 08:05:27 PM
Bitcoin is already too big to fail, even without mainstream adoption it will still be used for porn, gambling, tax evasion, hiding money from divorce attorneys  and a million other darknet uses....

doubt that.
Doubt what. If you have been here for a while and still haven't understood the objective fact of how BTC will NOT fail, then you just can't be saved.
688  Economy / Speculation / Re: SURPRISE! Dead cat bounce. on: May 13, 2015, 08:03:30 PM
It's no surprise to me that the price has gone up.  Huh

Bitcoin price never goes up. In 10 years once we look at the all time graphic the logarithmic progression will show nothing but gains and the 1K peak will be nothing but a small bump, rendering as complete retarded anyone that didn't buy insane amounts of sub 1K BTC when they had the time to do so.
689  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Drop From $249 on: May 13, 2015, 08:01:59 PM
Bitcoin price is still in an obvious downtrend

Weekly close over $300 could signal end of the bear market or we could easily see $100 level tested IMO.

The war wil be indeed fought in between the 100 to 300 range. Trying to stimate where it will go is extremely difficult, so I take it as a 50/50, which is a pretty good scenareo for me since i actually hope it goes as low as 100, just more cheaper btc for me.
690  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you do with your btc? on: May 13, 2015, 06:35:28 PM
Im going 50% BTC 50% Maidsafe, buying as much as possible while its insanely cheap. After Maidsafe goes 0.001 i'll sell half of it and enjoy the benefits.
691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Network Capacity is Reaching a Critical State: Mike Hearn on: May 13, 2015, 06:33:50 PM
MicroGuy is hilarious, I always read his posts in his voice after seeing him promoting that Goldcoin thing on youtube.
Sorry but no, Bitcoin is not centralized, and Bitcoin is and will be the king of crypto.
692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you mine it or buy it? on: May 13, 2015, 06:30:36 PM
Mined all mine and still mining today.
Where do you live and what kind of hardware are you working with? Because to make profits you need a quite amount of decent gear and a nice low electricity bill, like that Barnacules youtube guy.
693  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin be around in 5 years? If so, what's its price? on: May 09, 2015, 08:35:22 PM
Despite its peak at nearly at $140,000 in 2018 by the time 5 years is passed people will be proclaiming the death of bitcoin after its price plummets down to about $23,000. However there will still be diehards saying that the all time high can be broken and bitcoin will go to the moon. Hardly anyone will own whole bitcoins by then.

It's the same as we see now. People will get proved wrong in 5-10 year cycles everytime they claim "It's over". We had the "it's over" moment 2 times already, with the first small bubble and the second 1.2k ATH, can't wait for the next stop.
694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is PoS the future of Bitcoin mining? on: May 09, 2015, 08:28:16 PM
Nope, but PoW isn't as well... right now is the best we got, but clearly is not ideal. Even people like Gavin are saying it's a waste, and we should eventually find a superior way to deal with all of this.
695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Вo you protect your anonymity? on: May 09, 2015, 08:25:59 PM
I use Monero to keep my financial life private

Yeah, but to access monero you most likely used BTC before, so whats the catch? they could at least know you bought X amount of Monero.
Using a mixer helps, but im also worried about the origin of the coins you get, being attached to you.
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An Anatomy of Bitcoin Ponzis on: May 09, 2015, 08:24:38 PM
ponzi = virtual wallet.

simple.

Huh?
Sorry, but you have me a little bit confused there.

Care to elaborate?
Thanks

That's exactly what I was thinking. Blockchain.info might be a virtual or online wallet, but ponzis are straight up pyramid scams. Sometimes they actually pay out initially but at some point they will collapse if they don't run off with your money straight away that is.
By that definition everything is a Ponzi. Everything has a begining and an end, where the ones at the beginning get the most gains. Timing is everything, and Bitcoin hasn't even begun.
697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I let my last credit/debit card expire this month on: May 09, 2015, 08:23:06 PM
As for buying another house, my next permanent home will likely be on a seastead or sailboat. I left the US and do not see returning unless they have a USSR moment.

Rental car will be difficult, most places I have traveled to in Europe I opt out of getting a rental and just get a hotel in the city and walk everywhere. I always book my hotel rooms through expedia which accepts Bitcoin so there's no problem there.

For things online that require a credit card, I used to rely on brawker.com but now I need to figure out a new way. Hopefully the Bitcoin community fills the vacuum that them leaving has created..

Will you be buying the boat or renting it?

If you'll buy it, aren't you at risk of being caught? what if for some reason they ask where did you get the money from to buy that boat?
That would be my biggest concern, because once they ask you.. what options do you have?

I will buy it. If Bitcoin is over $1k I will pay the guy with bitcoins. Otherwise I will sell my house and pay for it.

As for asking where I got the money...I will likely be buying the boat in a foreign country, most likely registering it under a bahamas flag. If I do pay with bitcoins I will do my darndest to pay the appropriate income taxes because I love the IRS and want to have sex with any agent reading this.

I always dramed with living on a boat, but at the end of the day I always chickened out, because I wouldn't feel as safe as living on a house/flat.
If you do buy it on some far away island to register it over there... are you going to live on that island, or you will go back to europe/america?
If so what kind of boat are we talking about that could travel that far?
698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao - Who are you taking? on: May 07, 2015, 11:57:22 PM
Unfortunately any sanctions for Pacman and his team will be literally peanuts compared to the amount of money he made on that night even after losing.
Floyd wants a rematch when he is 100% recovered a year from now, it will be even more exciting than the initial fight even if you are pissed off now and want to say "oh I will not watch it" you will watch it and you know it lol.
699  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Question on starting a new crypto exchange on: May 07, 2015, 11:53:19 PM
Well that kind of website should be treated different from the ones that deal with real money. I don't think there is going to be any problem with such websites and government.
Also this thread needs to be moved to service discussion.
The crypto world is a wild wild west literally speaking, no one has a say about it. As mentioned before, as long as you keep it away from fiats, the crypto world cannot be stopped.
700  Economy / Speculation / Re: SWARM INTELLIGENCE predicts the price of Bitcoin... (very interesting) on: May 07, 2015, 11:43:22 PM
So the price of Bitcoin in November will be 290$, it's mean there is no high increasing.
Just as I and a lot expect, a slow, super slow rise with tons of dip in between. Great time for us to get that cheap BTC while it lasts.
