681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What area of bitcoin participation is easiest to work with? on: September 06, 2020, 04:10:16 PM
I personally prefer to buy bitcoin when the price is low according to my capital and I will hold it for the long term to sell it back when the price rises to my liking for maximum profit, and also participate in signature campaigns and other prize hunting.
and besides that I also sometimes trade for the medium term only for small profits, and to mine I haven't done it because it's not my ability to do that.
This is the most effective way and safest at all. Its good that signature campaign paid btc and we can used that for investment too. Actually for now this is the only way I can see better than others like airdrop.altcoin campaign is also good but its rare to see a project that really become a gem.

OP I suggest that look into more ways but always signature campaign is the best. Trading also but you need to be careful due to volatile market.

I agree with you. Participating to signature campaigns could be one of the easiest and safest to work with.
While knowledge about what you are getting into is necessary whether it’s a campaign, trading or even mining.
Also, I agree that mining these days are more risky than ever and requires tremendous investment of time, effort and electricity.
682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting: how much knowledge is too much on: September 05, 2020, 04:25:54 PM
There is no "limit" or anything knows as "too much" knowledge. Sports better depends little on luck, but more on information you gather. For example, if a weak team plays against a strong team, you are pretty much sure which team is going to win because of that knowledge and this is also how odds are set. Betting on weak team gives you higher payout when they win. The more knowledge you gain about a team, the better the chance of you predicting the winning team!
Yes, it would be very good if we had no limitations regarding knowledge, because in sports betting and other types of gambling it would still require us to use the skills we have. When we don't have knowledge, then how can we hone those skills if we don't have knowledge, so that knowledge and having a lot of information is really necessary. Even though when gambling the luck factor is very necessary, basically we will not know when we will be lucky, because bad luck will always accompany it and that's when our knowledge is needed to be able to make a win.

Exactly. Knowledge is the a vital weapon in sports betting, or gambling in general.
Knowledge about the game and team are substantial in determining which team to bet on.
And if a situation challenges you, you will know what strategies to use because of your knowledge.
683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain technology in universities on: September 05, 2020, 03:59:06 PM
Blockchain is not all about cryptocurrency although cryptocurrency seem to be the most popular of the use because it is the most profitable investment in many years. As many countries are adopting blockchain in many sectors I believe studies from researchers will improve and enhance the use across many other sectors in the country/department. The technology is not as young but there is capacity for some developments for security especially

Well said. If the academe will partake in this, it would significantly contribute to Blockchain technology development.
As academe nurtures individual to be competent and enhances their talents. It would be beneficial to everyone.
This could result into a more developed and profitable system that could soon offer many things.
684  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who sets the bitcoin price? on: September 05, 2020, 03:07:49 PM
It reminds me of myself talking about the demand and supply when I join bitcoin and did not have the idea why bitcoin market price move. The geniusis in a discussion had explain like this and because economics subjects were being taught in secondary school level then that was the time that I was able to understand how bitcoin market price move.

However, until now the question still wanting me a prove on really bitcoin price was not being influenced by dev? I do not think that it is not possible to reduce or increase letting it keep within their team or group. Who knows? Well I a just only expressing doubts towards bitcoin.

I will tell you more: when I studied at the University at the faculty of Economics, no one even talked about bitcoin, because it did not have such a wide popularity as it is now. As far as I know, the University has now introduced a small course on cryptocurrencies and it explains the volatility of bitcoin. See similar ones online.

That is true, Bitcoin has had changes with its popularity and size of the community it has.
Point taken, the community is the primary driving force of supply and demand, as it sets the Bitcoin price.
And because it is decentralized, exchanges has been rampant that it contributes to the volatility of Bitcoin.
685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling sites should be careful of bringing eSports in on: September 04, 2020, 01:39:21 PM
I think crypto gambling sites without bringing esports in are widely known and accessed by underage kids.
So it is not only crypto gambling sites that must be careful, but parents are also more careful in watching
their kids. This problem will not find a solution as long as there is no regulation from the government, and
the internet is indeed difficult to control.

Parental Guidance can only be the solution, it's hard to limit crypto gambling sites as they are operating in many countries and even with countries that have restrictions thru Internet it can still be access using some softwares.
Esports is indeed popular now that many gambling site may accept it and may be access by kids anywhere. In my country the solution can be limiting the money to give in kids to avoid them betting or using it in gambling, now where in Pandemic  and homeschooling parents were able to see what their children's are doing often.

The parental guidance is the real the solution too imho, and I think parents should focus on how they can really help their kids be a responsible one. I don't think not allowing them to play can help, it will just make them sneak from you just to play. You will just push them to keep a secret from you and it will be much harder to help them be a better person.

I think letting them play while making them understand the risk and the responsibility they have as gamers can do, they will bring it in any aspect of life too. Let them understand the idea of gambling not to teach them but the help them avoid it. They can play as long they know the limit of what they should do or what they should avoid. Kids can understand these things, as long as you explain it to them in a good way. I know it cause as a kid, I did keep a secret just because they are not allowing me to do a certain thing instead of explaining why I shouldn't do it or why should I limit it. It creates a gap between parents and their children.

I really appreciate what you said here. It is a indeed a good example how to nurture children.
In this trend, children are the most vulnerable and intensive parental guidance is a must.
If we follow them and guide them through whatever they do, it is easier for them to understand your points as a parent.
686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Mobile Gaming on: August 31, 2020, 01:21:47 PM
As mobile gaming become start to become popular in the world of gaming.
I have this thought on my mind;

Can we relate Bitcoin with Mobile Gaming?

Just like Bitcoin; banks can be a traditional and Bitcoin becomes much easier and comfortable to use.

In mobile gaming; PC Desktop games/console games, etc can be traditional while games on mobile are the new trend where you can play comfortably anywhere with just your mobile phone.

Does it ring a bell?
It's kinda the use of Bitcoin is much comfortable since we just need a Bitcoin wallet and internet connection to make the transaction.
And in gaming: we just need a mobile phone where it is easy to access anytime and anywhere and play since you just need your mobile phone, no need to bring your console/PC desktop every time just to play.

Hmm, it might sound weird but knowing about how Bitcoin being compared to Mobile gaming is kinda possible and creating something that can integrate both of them can be surreal. It might actually turn into gambling since we are mixing a Cryptocurrency that has the potential to grow its value without knowing what is the reason behind it. It also might be a good idea since people are just overflowing with ideas these days and creating something that can monetize your time while playing can be actually worth it.

Indeed. It would be really good if there is a way to monetize gaming these days, but to deal with crypto is more to that.
When it comes to its integration with Bitcoin, game developer should have to deal with compliance government first.
That being said, I also agree that it is not easy to just link Bitcoin with mobile gaming.
687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in crypto ratings? on: August 30, 2020, 01:49:46 PM
Crypto ratings can definitely help us if we are doing our research, for instance, projects.
But I also agree that we should we skeptic, all the time, of the information we see online.
Thereby, it will always be upon us if we are going to solely depend on a particular source of information.
688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Image Is Getting Stronger by the Minute on: August 30, 2020, 11:31:52 AM
Should we say that Bitcoin is surging high because USD had drop its value?
It was not about dollar or gold that coincides with the promising looks of Bitcoin nowadays but because people see it as a vital thing to acquire this time as the pandemic continues. People considering Bitcoin as new financial freedom, not being control by these politicians or any others but just our self.

And also, it is to realize that sooner or later, fiat money will be replaced by any digital currency, and possibly crypto will take on the lead. The market recession had come to start, yet it takes years, decades to see it. And I foresaw that Government will consider this and accept the changes that most wanted to happen.

Very well said. Bitcoin has been rising day by day because people have started to recognize it.
This pandemic, many acknowledge what Bitcoin has to offer because they experience it firsthand.
In the future, these people will stay in here because they see the potential of Bitcoin thus, it will prosper.
689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Stop bitcoin? on: August 29, 2020, 12:23:07 PM
If we consider that Satoshi holds majority of overall percentage of Bitcoin, he can shift the market.
But as stated that Bitcoin, cryptocurrency in general in widespread now, it won't just stop.
Satoshi may have eminent influence over Bitcoin but not on extent of stopping its existence.
690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Enough of bounty scam, you can help to stop it too. on: August 29, 2020, 11:35:49 AM
I think bounty scams have always existed until now very hard to stop him, the best way is our way must be properly examined as a whole so that we avoid the bounty scam and of course can get profit from our work

After 2017, it has just increased only and reason is everyone wants fast and easy money. So though to pick this as an opporunity and try to scam people who ever fals in trap is better fr them and will make some money qucikly and go away.

That is indeed true. Scammers are more motivated now than they did before.
That is why researching is really necessary, I agree that reading reviews will save time.
Experience of other people are one of the insightful material we could depend on.
691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK hospital launches rehab programme for bitcoin addiction on: August 28, 2020, 12:50:02 PM
I get that addiction can be caused by doing excessive different activities or something but I don't think it should be called bitcoin addiction since I just don't find it as something to be addicting, personally. It's more proper to call it trading addiction than "bitcoin" itself since if you are going to search, there's really trading addiction and it comes in any form, not just bitcoin.

It's good that they are opening such a program for others who suffer from this kind of problem but calling it bitcoin addiction is not really the right term for me.

but my take on this, should help other people with other detrimental addiction rather than this  so-called "bitcoin addiction". do you really think this program will help those traders to address their behaviour towards crypto? if you are into trading, you really need to check the market quite often. even us, regular crypto users, the first thing that we check when we wake up is the crypto market and just before we go to bed. but do we need therapy? i dont think so.

I definitely agree with you. Addiction does exist but not just really with Bitcoin trading in particular.
I think that intensive use of technology can really lead to some health problems but being a trader would require online presence.
But, if this cause is for addressing health problems, then overall it is good. But corrections must be done with the context.

693  Economy / Gambling / Re: Saito: Come help us test our games! on: August 27, 2020, 03:25:33 PM
Some adjustments would make the site much better. As I clicked the site, this is what I've thought.
I have also tried some of their games and just like the other, I have experienced lagging.
I have tried using desktop and mobile but using mobile is much harder.
694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No exchange? No Value! on: August 27, 2020, 02:13:40 PM
That is an unfortunate turn of events since everybody campaigning for certain cryptocurrencies wants a high paying salary at the end. The only thing we can do about moments like this is to accept the fact that not every campaign have fortunate endings. Though we always have the chance to join multiple campaigns through social medias. Buying and selling different kinds of Alternate Cryptocurrencies can also have its own benefits.

Unfortunate event, indeed. A coin with value is useless, and having it won't have any benefit.
If this happened, I don't also know what to do but to wait and see if the coin will be revived.
The only things that can be gained here are lessons and experience.
695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam victims on: August 27, 2020, 01:39:14 PM
This is saddening to know. Scammers won't really stop unless they know that they will be caught.
Lack of experience could lead to such events and let us all observe extraordinary diligence.
You are lucky if you have some who's expertise is cyber security, and I think that is one of the steps for solution.
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millionaires: % of BTC Owned by 100 BTC and above. Achieving BTC Millionaire! on: August 26, 2020, 07:21:49 AM
People who are holding more than 100btc will not go on the internet saying they are such holders, if you expose someone with more than 100btc he will become a target to the hackers, that's why is important to have a low profile, will fewer peoples know who are the real holders is more secure for them.

I think only the winklevoss twins go screaming everywhere how millionaire they are... But is not the smartest move.

Exactly. I do not really understand the purpose of this thread with that being said.
If you are a millionaire you do not go around telling people about it, I best.
I agree that keeping low profile for these people would be more safer and beneficial.
697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greatest Gambling Losers on: August 25, 2020, 03:03:53 PM
This definitely portrays gambling addiction and greed taking into the lives of gamblers.
It is saddening to see such huge amount gone because of uncontrollable playing.
Even if they surely afford this amounts, having limitations are necessary.
698  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: License to Sell Bitcoin in Person as Oppose To Online Exchange? on: August 25, 2020, 11:22:54 AM
I agreed to the replies above, it certainly depends on your jurisdiction and how your local authorities treated Bitcoin. I don't think that was a big concern this time so we are free to use Bitcoin and even other cryptos. And I don't think it was a threat for us either but it is all about how transactions work.

We have heard that arrest isn't only about having a license to sell but because of their illegal transactions that caught attention to the authorities. For more than a decade that Bitcoin existed, I'd never heard that issues happening everywhere, it only a case that some got caught because they used it for illegalities. Though we have that LICENSE, if we are using it illegally still it brought us into arrest.

I totally agree with you. It is certainly due to some local jurisdictions in their region.
And definitely, if this is not an illegal transactions, the authority won't make a big fuss about it.
Research is important if we are allowed to make transactions anywhere or we need some kind of license.
699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoins before the upcoming banking crisis states author of Rich Dad Poor D on: August 24, 2020, 02:58:19 PM
I'm not surprised though, sooner or later major business entrepreneurs will begin realizing the importance of bitcoin and begin to buy into the idea of innvesting in it.

Definitely. I agree with idea of yours, based with the progress of Bitcoin these past few months.
As seen by the many, many businesses are turning their assets into crypto investments.
These pandemic surely made a huge shift in all of our lives.
700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: key safety strategies? on: August 24, 2020, 02:28:17 PM
In order to be sure that you have a not compromised private key you could do a couple of things like

  • Create your wallet in an air-gapped computer
  • Use Hardware wallets (that's what you used already and you are pretty much protected already with that)
  • Make sure that you only use a computer that isn’t infected with malicious content
  • Update as much as possible to prevent possible vulnerability attacks
  • Don’t Trust, Verify

With that, I think you are pretty safe with your keys. Don't ever lose your backup phrases and never input them to anything unless it's secure.

Exactly. It is important to have a secure physical storage for your keys.
Although, I acknowledge the point that these seed phrases are meant to be memorized as well.
The best and safest storage in your mind, just don't forget to constantly remind yourself about these.
