“The award process is ongoing,“ Donahue said.

“Not today,” confirmed another spokesman for the Marshals Service. “I’m not at liberty to say why. The process is still ongoing,” he said.

How can you screw up a simple auction?

Can you confirm a screw up occured?

Didn't think so.

There are several practical reasons they might delay the final results.

How could they let people know they lost already when the award process is ongoing? You have to pass the background check before the auction so that can't be it. I bet someone won all the blocks of coins at a high price, and if I am not mistaken, I read or heard they were selling them in chunks so no one entity could turn around and sell them. I think it was on the news clip that aired right before the auction. My guess is some bank bought them all and they are trying to revise the rules, to whose benefit I have no idea.

Move out the way Wall-tard!
684  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 29, 2014, 07:38:38 PM
$1800 is a bit high. I was thinking 750 - 1100 for most of them. Although it would not surprise me if one block did sell for $1800 just as a publicity stunt.
685  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Unmasking BTC-E.com on: June 29, 2014, 07:03:10 PM
What is your reasoning behind this thread? Did you personally lose money or coins to them?

Leave BTC-E alone.
686  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 29, 2014, 02:05:18 AM
Most people in this thread seem confident, but let me just remind you all to prepare for the FUD storm that will be coming in the next 48 hours. This would be a prime time to induce panic selling using fake auction news of course.
687  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 28, 2014, 01:03:55 AM
Bitfinex never got an ID for my registration. Although I am not fully verified and I take my profits in bitcoin and they go straight to paper wallets monthly. Im sure to set up bank accounts and such requires ID but not for bitcoin/litecoin in and out only.
688  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 27, 2014, 11:11:48 PM
Is bitfinex reconnecting to stamp?

It's not letting me buy on bitstamp thru BFX like before. Unless BFX has an automated bot that does it for them. I haven't seen any news on it either.
689  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 27, 2014, 11:03:43 PM
Oh don't stop just before 600 now. That means we'll drop to 560 or whatever in no time again.

Come on buddy, nothing wrong with going down to 560 for a bit (30% chance of happening for me). You have been here long enough to know its just a small bear trap on the way to the moon. Volume is built upon weak hands and bad traders, let them sell now lol.
690  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 27, 2014, 10:53:22 PM

No need to use that ladies. Daddy has all the bitcoins you'll ever need right here  Wink  PM me lol

Wow, went away for a few hours and come back to find this thread has turned into a glorified BTC-e trollbox.

Well fellas, I amn't participating in this stupid debacle of a thread about the SR auction any longer.  I'm done. If you guys want to believe any FUD about the auction that supposedly comes out, go right ahead.  It won't be true, but whatever.

Now everyone is getting upset because the price isn't skyrocketing like they all predicted earlier. Damn, I hate being right all the time...

Damn, I love it when you're wrong. Now go and be a good boy and panic buy back in at a loss. Tongue

Or he/she can just leave the forum for good.

Obvious troll is obvious. I can't wait to hear the actual auction price and we move on so you can shut the fuck up. You are worse than fonzie.

What's going on Huh Huh

Weak hands maybe?

Fearing a drop soon to only buy back later at a loss?
694  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ross Ulbricht 140k bitcoins on: June 26, 2014, 05:11:24 AM

yes, bitcoin market is going to crash, very hard, anyone can come to this conclusion with simple mathematical calculations,
however the holders in this forum will still trying to fool you, if they found out you are in the right sense, they will ask you to leave the forum so they can continue lying to themselves and others,
they are either so afraid of their dreams are dead or trying to fool more people to join them,
how pathetic they are?

I hate to quote and feed the biggest troll of bitcointalk.org but...

Unless we go to $12, my dreams are still alive.

Also, I am willing to give you 10 of my bitcoins if you can provide this simple mathematical calculation that proves the market is going to crash. You can sell them now an profit 5 grand before this so called crash!

I will leave you unignored for a day to provide enough time. Your move!
695  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ross Ulbricht 140k bitcoins on: June 26, 2014, 04:58:45 AM

So if 30k bitcoins from the current FBI auction of silk road coins has contributed to the bitcoin price crashing hard - if the FBI win their case and get to sell Ross Ulbricht's 140k bitcoin stash will the bitcoin price literally crash?

Thoughts people?

Anyone have any updates about Ross Ulbricht's case?

What are his prospects of success?

If his chances of success are slim then smart bitcoin traders should be aware that the market could potentially flash crash at any moment depending on the outcome/announcement by law enforcement. We now have a precedent that American law enforcement are eager to sell seized bitcoins and rake in the cash.

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

Oh, sorry, are we having a serious discussion?
Sorry to mention the elephant in the room. Or have I broken the cult rule of the hodlers?

That's right. Everyone here is a cult member. Branded and the works.

We are blind to the reality that 140k bitcoins are going to be bought for a price and then dumped the market down to single digits. Here is how your theory works.

IE. Current spot price is $550. Government auctions off 140k bitcoins. They sell for 15% below spot (why? because there was an article IN FEBRUARY on the internet about a company willing to buy them for 15% below spot, so they must be sold for that). So that company gets 140k for around $467 a piece.

Then they sell those 140k bitcoins on the market. But since the market only has about 10k bitcoins in depth down to $467, they dump 10k bitcoins for a 1%-15% profit and then dump the other 130k bitcoins for a loss.

So they lose millions of dollars and the price of bitcoin is now <$5.

YES, THIS IS A BRILLIANT CONCLUSION.

Because I responded with BLAH BLAH BLAH I MUST be a CULTIST!

Why, god are people on this forum so stupid?

no one will buy all 140k at 15% off, since they know that the market cannot support such a large quantity and will surely crash for much more than just 15%... How about you reread your own argument backwards and realise that it may lead to a different conclusion.

One scenario may be:
1) market cannot support such large amount
2) buyers are aware of this and will not offer to pay 15% below market for 140k coins... they arent stupid after all. ...

Your whole argument is based on there being a definite buyer for 15% below market yet you agree that there is no market to support this quantity.

So either there is no buyer or the buyer is really stupid because 140k will crash the markets for much more than just 15% enabling them to purchase the coins for way cheaper.

Edit: this guy is just plain ignorant. There was a group who offered to buy 27k silk road coins for 15% off in february. (price was $550 at the time). It was an offer for 27k coins  not 5 times that amount (140k). For such a large quantity for all you know they may have offered 30-60% off..  http://www.businessinsider.com.au/falcon-global-capital-offers-to-buy-the-fbis-bitcoins-2014-2

You don't get it do you troll?

There are plenty of buyers ready to scoop up any coins the government is willing to auction off. This 15% guy is just one of them. Windjc said there is not enough bids ON EXCHANGES to be able to buy all these coins if they are dumped, not enough of a market to buy the 140K coins that MIGHT be auction off. I agree with everything Windjc said, and nothing of what you said so far.

Also, only american buyers are allowed to bid. They will be subject taxes if they sell within one year, so not only will they lose if they dump on the market, they will have to pay taxes. EVEN IF THEY PAYED 200 PER COIN THEY WOULD NOT PROFIT! SO WHY THE FUCK WOULD SOMEONE WITH THAT MUCH MONEY DUMP THOSE COINS AND LOSE TENS OF MILLIONS?

But wait, theres more! First, they have to find him guilty and prove that every single coin he owned was made off SR. That is going to be very hard for them to do. Last I heard, it was looking like he was going to get off on most of these charges, with only the charges for selling fake IDs to some guy in Canada sticking. The government got what they wanted, which was to shut down SR, confiscate a ton of info on buyers and sellers, and profit (the 29K coins).

Now stop trolling. Don't hate because you got here late! Tongue

Haha.  Cheesy

Good shit right there man.
697  Economy / Speculation / Re: When are the silk road coins sold ? on: June 26, 2014, 03:31:38 AM
How do you see this affecting the price?

Nahh it would never affect the price, people getting 30k btc at a bargain, they would never sell those off on exchanges the second they got them!

first thing they will do by my opinion is to sell them across all exchanges, then wait for even bigger plummet, and then rebuy.
one can only hope the price on auction wont be as low as we fear it will be.

Someone already bid market price -15% for all of them, so they won't go cheaper than 500ish. Since these coins will be sold only to Americans they will be subject to taxation if they sell within 1 year. So you think someone will dump these coins immediately and take a loss with paying taxes? After they would sell with slippage and pay taxes that would average under 400 per coin. So yeah, that's not gonna happen lol.
698  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 26, 2014, 12:02:00 AM
I figured more bots would have sold since the 1W MACD just closed out in the red.
699  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 25, 2014, 11:46:54 PM
Anyone else notice how all the bitcoin high priests and cheerleaders have been conveniently absent for the past couple weeks? The exponential log charts have been tucked into suitcases and the purveyors of these bitcoin pipe dreams are heading onto the next big thing. Makes you wonder... all of us still holding... are we the bag holders afterall?

They actually made their own forum to escape morons like you.

Where is this forum? I would like to see whats going on over there!
700  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 25, 2014, 11:45:53 PM
So who sells near the bottom of the long term trend line and why?
Besides all the weak hands who think the price will tank because of the auction  Roll Eyes
Does someone think that lowering the market price will somehow give them cheaper coins at the auction? Its not like their bids are entered as +/- a certain percentage of market price. Maybe they think they can fool the other bidders by hoping they look at the price and adjust their bids from there. But no bidder is that dumb.

I speculate purely on news and overall phycology/sentiment. This can't be news, and the consensus around here is 50/50 on the auction coins. The only two things I can think of is everyone is waiting for the auction to end, or manipulation is trying to get coins from weak hands.

Any insight from you folks that I might be missing?
