How to encourage local businesses to accept btc hmm.. good question and difficult to answer. I don't think "we" here stands for the bitcoin users but more for bitcoin itself, they have to somehow show their attractive side to business owners.
That is why you need to have some presentation and you need to make some explanation to the business owners that resides near or within your location. Because the fact is that businessmen are not going to waste any single penny for investments that they are not going to understand in the first place, just tell them that bitcoin is going to be the future currency that Bill Gates is telling. It is not an easy process introducing a new way of payment because there are several questions with it. Suppose they accept bitcoin will even one person pay using bitcoin. And also there is an issue about taxes the government will try to chase you about you earning money without having a record of your earning because they are all bitcoin. That can be rough for businesses. I think you should introduce bitcoin to governments first and make it a legal thing. Indeed, it needs deep analytical studies so companies won't get compromise since bitcoins regularly flactuates up nor down, and this could be the hardest decision to them since bitcoin is unknown for all of people globally, and chances to lose money for its unstability well exist and im really sure this study for its acceptance would take for more longer years since bitcoin is unpredictable processor. |

That Bitfinex disaster doesn't have some significant effect over price of Bitcoin. We may see a spike but overall price were remaining in same range with some percent up or down. Halving this time helped the people to achieve the maximum stable price even before that happening. I don't say there was some visible difference in price. It is very good price even now without any doubt.
That point can hardly be challenged. While the real question which should have been asked is whether the price would be so stable if the miners reward hadn't been halved. Methinks, today's price stability is mainly due to the July halving. The influx of new coins is only part of what it was before the halving, and we seem to have by now started to feel its effects in full and earnest. im little bit confused about this rally if it will really continue but i think i would just monitor first since im planning to buy some coins to stake for price rise, and my thoughs for your halving opinion is opposite since halving is done, maybe the reason for this rise is due to some people buying huge amount for it and stake their bitcoins for a while, or maybe october-december is the bitcoins peak season to rise up. |

In paypal you have to disclose all you identitys and you have to give your identity proofs , in paypal transaction reverse is very famous to scam. and i personally saw paypal and the procedure of it is very bad. and their charges also heavy.
In bitcoin you dont have to disclose your identitys , you can just create a hardware or online web wallet and give your wallet address where ever you want to receive or pay the bitcoins. the transaction charges are also less. and more it is irreversible, and about converting to fiat currency their are so many exchanges where you can convert it one is like localbitcoins.com which is having so many user who are ready to buy or sell and do transaction through bank transfer.
But you have more protection using Paypal. You can reverse a payment if you are scammed by somebody else. I dnt think you can say than bitcoins are better or paypal is better you can use them both becuase they can both been used for other things so i would use bitcoins as investment and paying online with the paypal. It's a while ago now that steam started accepting bitcoin and it hasn't really affected the forum from what I can tell though.
But if something like amazon and ebay would start to accept bitcoin then I'd expect to see a lot of posts about that.

I see more and more articles of the USD being used for illegal activities, such as funding of terrorists and unconstitutional, illegal wars, funding of wars that cause severe infringement of civil liberties like the war on drugs, among other things. Will governments ban this just like they started to do with paying in cash for some services to harden the use of illegal activities, and money laundering? Any currency are been used to any illegal activities aslong it is not fake and acceptable by any banks, and if you travel in different countries well you can see really that they are using their currency to buy those illegaly forbidden by the law. Recently I've gone through campaigns list of Lutpin has managed campaigns of about BTC12.1. And I see some top campaign managers here. I just wonder how they usually earn, say monthly? I think, if Lutpin took on average 1% on all his campaigns, he would've earned around BTC1.21 as per his statistics. My concern is, is that worth of his time? Or any Campaign manager's time to for the money they get? Or how much they actually get periodically from campaigns? What would be the potential earnings from the Campaigns for Managers?
