6821  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with - and + percentage (%) on: January 26, 2018, 01:53:11 PM
Hello,

I kwow it is profitable to buy when the price is low and sell when the price is high.
What I see in the currency exchange I am trading on are 24 hr percentages.
Sometimes the percentages show a 'minus' -, and sometimes they show a 'plus' +.

Is it a goog idea (when you think in terms of profit) to buy a coin when the percentage shows for example -5% and then sell when the percentage shows +5%?

Thanks
You are just simply doing buy low sell high method which seeing on percentage visuals is just like the same on seeing current or recent high and lows of prices of a certain coin but well its your own preference if you decide to use that thing on your trading habits if you are comfortable with that style then so be it.As long you are making money with that then there would be no problem. 10% per day would be sufficient for me but depending on how big is your capital.

The merit system is interesting for sure.  It can help limit some of the spam postings that is going on just to rank up.  However, if no members are actually giving other members merit it can become a toxic system that limits the amount of leveling up across the forum and become counterproductive.  While I do like the idea of the merit system its success is going to be based on the middle of the pack Members-Senior Members to succeed.
If you read up the entire announcement on the merit system then you will able to know that keeping smerits would be pointless. It always being suggested to be distribute.  Try to read up here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit  which have been mentioned where There is no point in hoarding sMerit; keeping it yourself does not benefit you, and we reserve the right to decay unused sMerit in the future.. Merit system is changing the way to level up rank it would really be more tougher because people do need to make good quality post to earn merits. If not then you will stay on your recent rank for long..

I am saying maybe they just dont care to give merit. I did read it. but people still need to take the time to use it. People are Legendary or Hero could not give any merit and nothing would ever change for them.  So its really on the mid-level members to help others move up.  Even if the merit decays if you do not use it that alone isnt going to motivate people to use it.  Its sort of like surveys or reviews you can send out 1000 emails to click a star 1-5 for a review and you are really only going to get a percentage of responses.  Some will delete the email others will just forget to use it.  I still like the idea of the new system and it can be successful but it does rely on participation.
This is why its getting harder to rank up these days because accumulating those number of merits that required per rank is too high (this is only my own view). There should really be circulation of those smerits or somehow a obligation to put some ratings on daily basis on a certain account. By the way there are smerit accout sources i dont know which person though. Leveling up from Jr member to Member account isnt hard though because it is just 10 merits for you to rank on basing on whats being said:

Jr Member   30   0
Member        60  10

6824  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you know when you are in profit? USD or Satoshi? on: January 24, 2018, 08:12:11 PM
Always compare it to Satoshi

I always compare alts investments to how much I would have made if I had just bought bitcoins and not alts. They are probably the best real indicator of price.

For example, u buy a coin at $5 and it goes to 10. Bitcoin however went from 5k to 15k. If you had just not sold bitcoin for alts, you would have made more.

I was thinking about this again earlier today and wondered if there is a way in graphically comparing the both?
Like on tradingview showing moving averages for example but then showing the the BTC/USD rate in the same chart?
Does anyone here do that? Showing both the chart of an altcoin and that of btc/usd next to eachother in order to figure out when to buy/sell?
For sure there are people who do look up on btc chart and seeing if the price is still low or high for them to make decisions either they would sell or decide to hold it up because they cant see big profits when the price of bitcoin is still low. Prices do really correlate to each other specially when you are computing for profits. This thing would really matter but there are some people who dont really matter on satoshi since they are always seeing on usd value.
6825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Token price fall after ICO on: January 24, 2018, 07:45:59 PM
Have there been any tokens where the trading price on exchanges at the very start fell considerably below the ICO price and has not recovered?

Not all token are not recovered after ICO. But some token are capable to increase value after ICO and there are time that they double the value in the exchange after the ICO. During ICO the high value of token is normal to attract investor to buy token to their ICO. Then after of ICO dump or decreasing value of token is normal because the supply of token in the exchange is high and almost of investor are holding it but that the value of token is recovered again because of the demand is high in the market and exchange.
This would be entirely depending on the interest or on demand of its investors or to the community. There are really instances on where price of token rise up double or even more when it hits exchanges which it is a rare thing for me to see and lucky for those who do invest and do easily cashout for profits but talking on most common thing do happen on where they do easily dumped out  once being launched because of profit taking.
6826  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop Loss Trading on: January 24, 2018, 05:56:06 PM
Each and every situation.
This is true you need to do it every single trade from all of your target coins to gamble in trading, yes it is nearly in the gambling state as you are placing your bets with your speculations and information about the coins perspective and happenings throughout the market, 15 - 20% is enough as some of the coins will have a normal dumps of 10% if that is increasing up to 50% that would be a questionable one, but its up to your strategy that is my stop loss percentage opinion.
Yes, stop loss is nothing but cutting our losses earlier and at the trend changing point. A stop should be derived based on a technical analysis as random stop losses may get triggered in usual market fluctuations itself. When a stop loss is set at trend changing point then we cannot do anything about the losses except accepting those losses.

In my experiences, stop losses are mandatory in order to prevent losing all the capital in one wrong trading. Because, no trader will be able to predict market movements accurately then we should be ready to accept losses often. But those losses should be in a calculated amount.
If those stop loss been triggered then recovery of those lose will be entirely depending on the next step you would made. Knowledge and skills would really matter since not all the times crypto market would follow technical analysis or on the indications been used to rely such movement. We cant do nothing but to accept those loss. 10% is too much for me on having that risked amount.
6827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how can i search good airdrops?? on: January 24, 2018, 04:46:56 PM
hello, please suggest me. how can i find good upcoming airdrops??
You can see most of them here on this board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0 if we are just talking in forum itself but there are other ways knowing upcoming airdrops which is on telegram groups and there are lots of them just choose up on whats suits you.

Safe to assume that even the 'good' airdrops are giving a relatively small amount per participant?
As long you are not putting up money on those projects that do have airdrops then you are still 100% safe. No investment involved only free coins.
6828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Turning my 50 USD into 25,000 USD? on: January 24, 2018, 01:58:21 PM
Okay, I know this sounds impossible but it'll look like this:

Put 50 bucks on a x5 coin on short term sell when the investment hits  250 USD

Long term HODL your 250 buck on a x100 coin (better if U find a newly dumped ICO)

 Take your 25,000 and enjoy!

Is this a possible strategy guys?
This method does work since nothing on this cryptoworld investment is not possible as long we do put money but the big question here is that which coins you would invest? You wont even know if a coin would hit up x5 or x100 as you mentioned above. Choosing coins is the most crucial part of this investment world of cryptos. Seeking out information and making research isnt really simple at all.
6829  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the price going lower? on: January 22, 2018, 05:31:52 PM
I think there's a good chance it might fall below 10k. There's just so much fud going on right now, with Korean news media continuously spreading fud talking about how crypto is just gambling, other governments seem to be taking this stance nowadays too.

Also think there was a lot of people that went in near 20k, saw the price drop, and now they're panic selling.

Don't worry though, this is quite natural in crypto. If u sell now, you will probably regret it in a month or two

Well the first part of this year really gave a lot of people anxiety attacks. Especially those that aren't used to bitcoin's volatility since most movement this january are more on the bearish side. But if you think about it, even if it breaks 10k support, bitcoin is still expensive at 8 or 9k usd.

We broke the 10k support last week. Since one month BTC going down, maybe it's the end of Bubble like in 2014 but i do not care because it s growing up even after the bubble.
Its not actually a bubble but a correction and yet we are still seeing the price is on high state. Can you see the price difference on previous years? It continue to grow up even more after a sudden dip this is why we shouldnt really bother ourselves on seeing dipping prices because as a bitcoiner you would really treat these kind of situation as a normal one since from the start we do know that bitcoins price is always been volatile so we should expect the unexpected anytime.
6830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitconnect performed exit scam with $2.5 bln and investors are suicidal on: January 20, 2018, 10:04:37 PM
Read the first comment in this thread:  https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitconnect/comments/7qx0kv/im_literally_shaking_this_cant_be_happening/

So f*cking hilarious, I'm laughing so hard right now!!!

I mean, I'm not happy seeing those people lose their money, but most of them really do deserve it.  Who's stupid enough to take a loan and invest it in a sketchy ICO?
They do really deserve it because it has being warned or do tell people to this forum not only 10x 100x but i do believe 1000x being mentioned here about this obvious ponzi scheme coin but people let their greed overcome them and do decide to invest and for those who go all in then for sure suicidal attempt would really be possible even myself wont know on what to do if i do lose up my house, all of assets because of going all in and taking up some loan just to invest.
6831  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Bloodbath.. on: January 20, 2018, 09:21:48 PM
For first it's seems so strange for me, but read some trader prediction for Bitcoin is always happen every year on January and february the price down and will recovery on next month and get next all time high.
Get used to it , crypto market is full of risk . Which means the possibility to get super huge profit is there.
People don't want to sacrifice to have a bad moment before they could receive a sweet unexpected winning.
That's crypto where patience, waiting on the drop is really being  tested , try to relax!
Yes we need to be patience here because every dump there is a pump that enabled us to earn a profit and we should not join the flow of the market when its going down because it maybe manipulated by some people that are planning to dump but later on they increase the price so that they can earn a big profit and the people who sold their coins in the dump losses their money.
The point is you need to have some estimations on how the market run whether it will stay crashing for long or just for a while to move up back.
At least when you have a prediction , you will know what to do next and you won't regret it.
For now it looks like a temporary crash , once people feel confident to buy back what they have lost the recovery could be run faster.
Now is the best time for buy back, bitcoin price reaches below $10000 is a good time to collect more and hold till ot reach 20k again, as well in top alts, there are plenty of alts now especially 2 days ago that almost hit their bottom, when we do see potential for such project or cpin, buying it now is a great opportunity.
Some people thinks that the current market situstion is like a bullish trap.
It looks bullish but actually it will remain the same get stuck at the level of $11k to $12k to get drop again untill 28th of january.
Where the future contracts will end and big money involve there to do a massive selling , it is makes sense but not really accurate.
Thats what makes crypto market is to unpredictable but somehow those fundamentals can really help us to make such decisions and its much better than on making orders on random basis. For now bitcoin had break the resistance for now we can assume that this is the beginning of bullish trend but well chances of pullbacks would be always there but we wont really even see those 9k price which we have been seeing on last few weeks. Those are missed chances on buying cheap coins.
6832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Apple launched its own crypto ?!! on: January 20, 2018, 08:22:04 PM
Sounds like a blatant SCAM aka FAKE HYPE

Let's just look at the basics because I'm not even clicking that link.

First off when does APPLE come out with an "eu" site? Seriously? Right they wouldn't surely not before they come out with their home country listing aka U.S.
Second APPLE a multi-billion dollar company can't afford HTTPS ? Really now? =FAIL. I'd give you an A for scam effort but nope "F" for fail of scam hype.
Third why would Apple need "ipay ey" or whatever when there's APPLY PAY! DUH.

If you're going to try to scam or throw out fake hype at least have the visuals on point.

Now this project may be completely legit but if someone is running around trying to promote with their link and blatantly LYING then it's going to be viewed as A SCAM NO MATTER WHAT.

So essentially people will AVOID THIS ICO LIKE THE PLAGUE. Congrats!
He already messed up and would really lose its credibility because lying or giving false informations wont really be appealing into any investors. Using other things just to hype up isnt really proper at all. I agree on the key points on what you mention above which is really an obvious thing if you do really properly investigate. Theres no sign of Apple company attached to this one. Its a multi-billion company which doesnt really need any ICO or even on the site itself isnt really appealing at all.
6833  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ICO Prices Too High on: January 20, 2018, 07:37:18 PM
Is it just me or do you also see that ICO prices are starting to get ridiculously high (considering most of them don't even have a working product).
You would really able to see different prices since each project do have different total supply of coins. If you do see surpassed dollar price of coin then most likely they have the total supply of 20-30m+ overall which those price are bit considerable. The thing you should hesitate is to invest into a coin which do have a billion supply with higher price of each token then it would really give me a doubt to invest on.
6834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can myetherwallet get hacked? on: January 19, 2018, 09:58:57 PM
Of course, the hackers say that there is no safe place in cyberspace but that will happen if you do not make mistakes in keeping your key because all security provided in myetherwallet is useless if the users themselves are not careful. hackers usually use phishing sites to get information about your account and your security key so you should be able to distinguish this site, if you click on a phishing site then you do not realize that you have submitted your account information.
We do have the full responsibility of our own wallet which the site itself has nothing to do with it. All can be hacked on cyberspace but as a user we should really take all the safety measures on ensuring the security of our own wallet if we dont like to lose up funds then we should do our own homework. It might not assure you 100% but would really give you the confidence that hackers cant easily bypass it as long they dont have the keys then it should be just fine.
6835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can ruin a Country? on: January 19, 2018, 09:11:21 PM
I think it can ruin country, because bitcoin can ruin your life and you will be addicted in using bitcoin,
there is many country who are afraid in bitcoin because it can ruin their whole nation and it can manipulate a whole country, because bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that very in demand to the whole world and many big persons uses it and investing in it, that's why I said that it can ruin a country
The thing you do say here is full of nonsense and its not really even fit on the possibilities why bitcoin can ruin a country. Having those big persons you do said will invest then whats wrong with that? Bitcoin can manipulate whole country? Addicted with bitcoin?on what way? All things mentioned are full of shit. I havent heard about bitcoin addiction,i would rather see it as positive side getting addicted to it would involved for you to engage even more on making money which isnt really bad either.
6836  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to trade without losses on: January 19, 2018, 08:20:46 PM
You're not a trader if you don't have tried to loss even 1 time, yes it's true everyone in trading has already tried to lose, because it's so impossible to trade without loss

I agree, in term of trading we always encounter to lose our money it is impossible that we always get profit but the most important is we got experience and we learned about that experience.

And experience will teach us real lessons in life which we can keep and use throughout our trading life. Trading without losses is like counting stars, both are far way impossible yet it can give us a brighter way in every step. So instead of thinking how you can manage trading without losses why don't you embrace it but don't let it ruin your strategy.

Experience is what you learn after making a mistake. Making a mistake
is a normal thing, it is how we learn what is good and what is bad.
In terms of life, not just trading, we encounter with loses, and bad decisions,
that can not disappoint us. It is not question will we lose sometimes or not,
we will lose, it is what we can and what we will do after. When you touch
bottom do you know how to stand up again, when you lose do you know
how to stop and not lose more. Mistakes are making  to learn things faster,
do not run away from them, if it happens analyze situation, take the best from
it and move on.
And on reality thing theres not perfect trader on this world or in short theres no perfect person who wont really able to commit mistakes because these things are just normal for us to learn. If we do accept it then we would eventually learn from it and avoid those things again which will really mold us up to be a better person or trader later on depending which thing we are engage to. Trading without loss  do only happen on dreams and wont really be part of the reality. So the best thing to do is to minimize loss and learn from our past mistakes.
6837  Economy / Economics / Re: What would the price of Bitcoin be if its use eliminates the need for currencies on: January 19, 2018, 07:16:45 PM
If in a few years Bitcoin becomes the "Norm" worldwide thus eliminating the use of state backed currencies , what would the "price" of a bitcoin be?

This question might not be possible even we sleep and dream it off to happen since government wont really allow such state for bitcoin to take over centralized currencies. So lets assume for the sake of your question and making assumptions then if bitcoin would be the mainstream then expect price would be the range on we never expect of but do you consider total supply of bitcoin before considering it?
6838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: So what is the lesson of the past week? on: January 18, 2018, 08:01:11 PM
Yes, persistence is victory! Today's market is beginning to return to its own value! Only persistence can protect your own interests. If you sell your COINS at this time, I don't think this is a very good choice!

I do not think that someone is selling their coins at a time when the price has so dropped. We all must have warmth and faith!
You cant tell because you dont know each holder if they did decide to sell of on those times or didnt do such thing. There would really be a lesson learned for those people who did sell for cutting the loss and for sure they are regretting as of now as the prices either bitcoin or on alts is starting to climb which you cant do nothing but to regret that you didnt wait for it to recover. This is why on next event of correction or dips you will surely hold off since you do have already the experience.
6839  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: tricked by trolls. on: January 18, 2018, 06:40:41 PM
the trolls told me to invest in SecureCoin. I checked and the SecureCoin website was down, however the Block explorer was still up. I didn't have any confidence in the coin, but the sheer volume of trolls telling me it would 50x made me believe. I said how could 10 people be all lying to me. Also, I was fueled by greed and desperation, my whole life I've been poor and bullied by society, and I said to myself this is my only opportunity to escape my personal hell, by being rich.

Sad to say but it looks like you joined a P&D group? Usually those people behind will really hype a coin and said that it will go crazy like 50-100x but I'm sure they are all lying bastards trying to lure you into investing on that coin and they will immediately dump like it pancakes taking home the profit and you guys suffer the consequences. I hope that you learn your lessons here.

So I dumped 90 bux into SecureCoin and watched as it flatlined, instead of 50x like they said it would. Do you think SecureCoin will ever go back to its original price or higher so I can ever get back my money? Or is it gonna flatline for the rest of eternity?

IMHO, I can't really say, I'm not sure what SecureCoin is. It could go up but the chances are very slim. You are already trap and the only way to get it is to suffer a lose. Sorry to burst the bubble to you.

I didn't really join their group, it was a troll box that trolls were listing future predictions. And the coin never pumped, just dumped, so Idk what the point of it was.
Sad to hear out on what happened on you pal. This is why we should really not easily believe on those shilling being said on troll box because people there mostly do promote the coins which they have already brought in which they will really tell that it would pump and must invest but the truth is that they are just waiting for it to increase price by those people who did buy because of their shilling out and decide to dump all the way for profits. Rinse and repeat for more profits thats how it works.
6840  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Bloodbath.. on: January 17, 2018, 11:34:23 PM
The crypto market are currently all in red. It seems that there is a bloodbath. How long do you think will it take and what do you think is the reason behind it? Is it just a massive price correction or is it the end for the crypto world? Just want to know your opinion about it.
This is a sign of that we have to be aware for that this is possible that might happen yes of course that we see that this is are on red for but as soon as possible everything may comeback very soon.
Coming to an end of cryptoworld is possible but not would be happening on these young years of it. Theres soo much space to develop even more further and talking on ending is not possible as of these days. Price corrections, dip of prices are normal which we should really be aware of in the very first place. For now instead of worrying too much its much better to do shopping into those alts which do have potential even on bitcoin.
