6841  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Price Halving succeed with Currently Situation on: March 21, 2020, 01:19:54 AM
The current situation doesn't matter. Bitcoin's inflation rate is undergoing an irrevocable change that will continue have effects long after all of what's happening at the moment is an unhappy memory.
The current situation is very important for bitcoin however its effect is not clear yet. Inflation or fast rise then sudden crash or volatility are normal regarding bitcoin history and we got used on it.
For the moment, people are panicking and this panic is increasing day after day. Markets over the world are losing too much, the number of isolated towns/states/even countries is increasing too every day.. Cash won't help you in your home, some people will not prefer to touch it since it could be contaminated and with banks queues/limited open times, cashless options are the best solution to shop IRL/online with credit cards or cryptocurrencies. What could make bitcoin more attractive is to see the price lower and you realise that it will increase soon. I believe "big whales" realised that and decided to lower the price so more people will join in this disastrous moments.

The big problem isn't Liverpool nor the relegation teams since LFC is de facto the first one and only a jealous team could think otherwise and for the relegation, well they can maintain them and add 2 others from the EFL for example then next year we will have 5 relegation teams.
The biggest problem is how to select those who should be part of Champions or Europa Leagues...

I don't see any problem, every team has to understand the current situation the world is facing or probably they agree to play all remaining games behind close doors. If the league was to end the way the table is currently standing then top 4 teams gets the champions spot (excluding Manchester city as a result of their ban). Last 3 teams gets relegated to the EPL, it's as simple as that.

Although I don't think it'll come to that, the league will end as it normally does were all 20 clubs play 38 matches. The champion and Europa league will also get completed to get a champion. It's just a matter of time before everything gets back to normal.
Honestly i hope that i have the same optimism as you but the current situation is telling me that we are just witnessing the tip of the iceberg...

I think if all teams agree to end the Championship right now I think it can be done.Liverpool is already the Champion and we can all agree in this.I don’t know about the teams fighting for a spot in European competitions next year and the relegation teams. They most probably would not agree in this.I hope that the best solution is applied for both parties involved.

The teams that are going to be selected for the Champions League and Europa League will be defined from the current league table.
So, if Liverpool, Man City, Leicester and Chelsea will be the teams that will play in the Champions League next season and the same for the teams that will join the Europa League. It is the fairest way in my opinion.
It is unfair to select teams using the current scores.
Leicester could derank to the 4th or even 5th spot at the end of the league. ManU, Wolves, Sheffield, one of the them could pick a spot in Champions League...and how to choose between them who will play Europa League, don't forget that some teams lack another game which may be decisive like Sheffield. Many surprises could occur!
6843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Qualifying on: March 17, 2020, 07:05:04 PM
Unrelated to UEFA but...Man, what's with the japanese and the Olympic commitee not wanting to postpone the whole thing? We all know there's A LOT of money involved but this is embarrassing.

They are probably not as concerned. Japan has less than 1000 cases and the virus is under control, if they introduce heavy quarantine controls they might even make it.
It would be better to postpone ofc, but logistically it's a nightmare.

They should be concerned because there's no way they will be able to isolate all fans that are contagious. True, some say that COVID-19 will die out before summer but no one probably knows because it's not an ordinary flue.

But, as I remember, I heard on the news last week that Olympics will be held or canceled. They won't postpone it.
I read several times that Japanese still insist to keep Olympics as scheduled and no clear answer was given AFAIK..
Regarding the current situation in Japan, they can hold it since the situation is +/- under control and the timing isn't bad (end of July), however nothings guarantee that other countries could control the virus by July...
6844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 17, 2020, 06:59:00 PM
About next season after this one even if is not clear how it will end for now.

Next year we will have not a 22 teams Serie A, will last week was a possibility.
I didn't understand what you wrote. You mean the possibility of adding 2 teams to Serie A is rejected / will not be a choice?
In the current situation and making a projection, the best scenario will be a stabilisation of the number of cases by mid-april which is good but won't guarantee to resume Serie A, even without spectators, before May-June...
6845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2021 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Play Offs | POSTPONED on: March 17, 2020, 04:36:02 PM
OP is definitely on the ball, I just noticed the thread title has changed already from 2020 to 2021 Cheesy
In all seriousness the move by UEFA was sensible & works out the best for everybody. Now we get football in 2021 summer & the World Cup the summer after Wink
Every sporting event is either cancelled, postponed or delayed. The world has no answer to the coronavirus and that is very strange. With the Euro 2020 delayed, it means that in 2021 we will have both Euro and Copa America. We have to wait for an year to see our favorite players and teams in action.
And we risk to have the longest and the most boring summer ever if this Corona virus will continue spreading like this.
We will have this summer another championship about the most infected countries...

6847  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening ? on: March 16, 2020, 01:31:29 AM
So Bitcoin just crashed to 6200 $ , around 1000 $ 1 hour , around 15 % in 1 h   , what is going on ?  Shocked

I saw the time the dump was going. It was a crazy dump, something like this I had never seen before. The main reason for this dump was Corona's panic, where the seller was everyone, but there was no buyer. If you looked at the orderbook at that time, you might understand. When there was not enough liquidity, everyone was ordering the market sell. And all the positions of those who were with high leverage traders their position liquidated and the market went crazy.
One day our children will be told in school that the huge crash in bitcoin price(/FIAT) in 2020 is related to a very tiny evil virus called Covid-19 that eradicated x% of the world population, raped global markets, dropped oil prices to lowest over decade?, everyone is panicked like hell! Crap...
6848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: March 16, 2020, 01:24:40 AM
The probably luckiest teams in this whole drama for the moment are Espanyol, Leganes, Mallorca. I mean Spain are one of the most infected countries, it will take much time to recover (+ 4-6 weeks at least), La Liga could be cancelled, so they will not be de-ranked. We may see also new rules like 1-2 game(s) between Barca VS Madrid for the first spot and a mini tournament between 4-5 teams for the CL/EL spots!
6849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 16, 2020, 01:10:25 AM
@Toma, Toke, snipie I think we are overthinking about this season title things. Liverpool is the season winner even if there are no matches we see in this EPL which is unlikely though. I am sure after few weeks everything will go back to normal.

If I am not wrong then Liverpool just need two more goals for having the title officially. So, we are good.
Yeah true we are overthinking a little bit  Smiley
However my worries that 2-4 weeks aren't enough to handle the current situation especially in UK. Western European countries aren't even in the peak although harsh measures are taken and UK's prime minister is joking around about families losing their relatives. UK strategy for the moment is to let people get infected, somehow like the natural selection, or at least that's what we understood from his speech, so what will happen there will be madness, and nothing will resume before summer...
6850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 14, 2020, 01:52:18 PM
^  Liverpool practically has the title so personally I think there's no use chanting about it.  But will sure make fun about it if given the right reason to do so.  Grin

And it would be stupid to scratch the season with over a third over and done with.  Just give them the trophy and move on imho.
Man City will veto this  Tongue
Even with 0,01% "chance" to win the title, Man City could argue this and they have the right, however i don't think they will do it. Liverpool deserves the first place and everyone know this.
The problem is for 3rd, 4th and 5th spots especially. Leicester is not doing well lately, Chelsea +/-, Man United is rising, Wolves and Sheffield are hard numbers too.
6851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 13, 2020, 04:02:54 PM
I think UEFA will wait in the next few weeks if the situation gets worse so I am sure that this champions league competition will be suspended until waiting for the stability of each region but until now every country and government has done everything possible to neutralize and prevent this Covid-19 so do not start to pamain that is very important.

Spanish league suspended
Italian league suspended
The English league seems like there is no deferment yet
EPL is suspended also and if we take on consideration the number of isolated players/managers, those tested positive, the time for recovery, and the infection spread across different countries, the postponed UEFA CL/EL games will not be played before Mid-April if we are very very optimistic
6852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: March 13, 2020, 03:56:39 PM
I hope that the epidemics in the Europe will hit its peak next 2 or 4 weeks, then we will have better condition.
Better to hope that the peak is happening right now. If things continue like that, after 2 weeks the number will be somewhere between 50k-100k in every country (Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, UK...) and maybe a million at least in Europe. If the peak will be happens after 2-4 weeks, i don't want to imagine the number of contamination nor the death ratio!
6853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 13, 2020, 03:49:59 PM
I LOL'd so hard while reading  Grin Grin https://twitter.com/EwanMacKenna/status/1238417399872917504

Obviously, the teams having a shit season want it to get void. One is fighting to get out of the relegation zone and the other one just keeps playing garbage football week in and week out.

It won’t happen, there are too many ramifications -

  • Who gets relegated
  • Who gets promoted
  • Who gets into European football for next season CL & EL

The season will continue in a month or two, I think Euro 2020 will get moved to next year now.

You can’t stop Liverpool winning the title, you can’t pull Leicester out of likely CL qualification. You can’t say to Leeds & West Brom that they aren’t going to go up.

It’d be too much of a mess to cancel the season, I think it will get finished.
A delay for few weeks until the situation will be more clear.
European politicians said hard words lately about the number of potential infections and death. News popping about players being positive and even a president...
First week of April will answer many questions tho
6854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 12, 2020, 11:30:41 PM
i guess after this weekend games the decision will be made to postpone it

I strongly doubt any match would hold this weekend, it will be absurd for the FA to continue the premier knowing fully that it'll be endangering players, staffs and the public health at large, the least they could is an immediately suspension, which should last for about 2 weeks just to assess all other options.
I was expecting the same thing especially after the suspension of Serie A and La Liga but until now there is no decision taken, i even read in an article that the games will go ahead.

3 Leicester players so far have Corona virus symptoms, and are in isolation but they are not confirmed positive yet.
Some articles are misleading, kind of playing with the words and don't precise the timing of said info. I remember reading in one of it that "after Leicester, now Arsenal is touched by Covid-19". I thought that the 3 players are infected (confirmed positive), it turns to be in self-isolation....
6855  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here is why the market is still bearish (nothing to do with the Corona virus) on: March 12, 2020, 11:19:12 PM
All markets worldwide are crashing badly right now, some of it the worst for decades. That virus is having a huge underestimated impact, in addition to lockdown in some places, some people avoiding to buy anything online, big whales taking some profit and other people trying to get some FIAT liquidity... It is very complex.
I see that a drop in the price is always profitable so people can purchase at a lower rate before the halving and the recovery of the markets after few weeks
6856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 12, 2020, 11:11:44 PM
Damn, Arteta is positive on Corona virus
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/51865442

Here is Arsenal statement too
https://www.arsenal.com/news/club-statement-covid-19

They will definitely have to reconsider previous decision to keep on with the EPL.
The EPL will be suspended soon, Arsenal but also some Leicester players are infected. Both teams should be quarantined, i guess after this weekend games the decision will be made to postpone it
6857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 12, 2020, 11:08:35 PM
As for now 2 big matches are postponed🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Manchester City – Real Madrid 🇪🇸 and
🇮🇹 Juventus – Olympique Lyonnais 🇫🇷, with no new date...

https://twitter.com/UEFA/status/1238135890628706308

Yeah, this Champions is already over it will be canceled with no winners IMHO and money given to teams by some coefficients.

L’Équipe is also reporting something similar.. Would be devastating if this really becomes true, but every day that passes, it looks more likely.

Next Tuesday, UEFA is set to announce the temporary suspension of the Champions League and Europa League as well as the postponement of the Euros to summer 2021. The domestic leagues should also be suspended, although they're not directly related to UEFA [@lequipe]

Source: https://twitter.com/iMiaSanMia/status/1238121323487870976
Only sad news nowadays for real, i am still wondering why they are delaying the announcement, it is obvious that postponing CL & EL will take place today or tomorrow. Better to fix a temporary dates after 1 and 1/2 month..
6858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: March 12, 2020, 11:02:32 PM
Manchester United Basel Leverkusen and Shakhtar all comfortably won their matches and going with good advantages in next matches at home.
Confortable win for Man United, Basel and Leverkusen but Shakhtar 2-1 isn't that comfy.
Hope that next matches gonna take place really with sad news about infected players from different leagues  Undecided
6859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: March 12, 2020, 05:28:17 PM
Bouncing here in Italy news about 3 players (probably from Leicester) positive to COVID-19.

Gazzetta is talking about it, https://www.gazzetta.it/
Unconfirmed whether they have coronavirus or not. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51856906

Damn, Rodgers just confirmed a couple of injured players (Maddison and Pereira) and now 3 players are being sidelined...Very unlikely that Leicester will get to play this weekend vs Watford. Suspension of the PL is getting closer and closer.
Hmm we can say that we have 24 hours before finding out that EPL is postponed too... Damn, stay at home without watching sport nor new films, what a mess...
6860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: March 12, 2020, 05:23:42 PM
Is there any official confirmation of this news?
It's been confirmed by La Liga and the president of the Spanish Football Federation: https://www.marca.com/futbol/primera-division/2020/03/12/5e6a1100ca474112418b45d4.html

So sad right now  Cry But it's for the best. Well, another league down and many more games that i won't get to add my weekly slip bets.
Read that news sadly today and heard rumors that UEFA Champions League and Europa League will be postponed also or even cancelled.
I don't know about other leagues but expect the French one will be next or maybe EPL...
Real Madrid is in quarantine BTW
