6861  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cost To Renounce US Citizenship Goes up 420+% on: August 31, 2014, 09:41:39 PM
So in other words its still cheap not as cheap as it used to be but considering that the US uses the definition of Worldwide income for taxation purposes it saves people who have good passports from needing to pay more taxes to the US government a significant cost savings.

When the Citizens and the Corporations want to leave somethings up
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/11065125/US-taxes-are-far-too-high-no-wonder-companies-are-fleeing.html

A study by German economists ranked the United States 94 out of 100 nations for overall “business tax attractiveness”, behind countries such as Pakistan, Greece, Russia and Nigeria.

Given these bad policies – a high tax rate and a worldwide tax system – imagine you are a major investor in, or senior manager of, an American-domiciled company that competes in global markets. If you can somehow take your corporate charter (and thus your legal HQ) out of a filing cabinet in the United States (most likely in Delaware) and shift it to a filing cabinet in a nation with better tax policy, that one step can substantially benefit shareholders, with secondary benefits for employees and customers. Hence that’s why US firms are buying foreign ones and then relocating themselves abroad. It’s important, however, to understand that there are limits to what an inversion can achieve.

No matter where a company redomiciles, for instance, that doesn’t change the fact that it will still owe tax to the IRS on US-sourced income. But no longer having to pay tax on non-US-sourced income is more than enough reason to consider a new home.

At Bitcoininformation reminder that you should also edit the payout table in the OP page since the rates changed there as well.
Anyways its filling up nicely ^^
Ah man. I changed everything, except that, lol. Will do that right now!
EDIT: Done. Grin

Whistle there was one more edit needed my fault since I edited my above post with the CLFNP as well
Its an active campaign at present since its open to registrations

@ Edit In: Fair enough but 80 Senior Spots should still take a while to fill up at least a day I'm guessing
But just for perfection ^_^
6863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 30 to Sept 1: NewEgg Bitcoin Discount offers up to 30% off on Purchases on: August 31, 2014, 09:26:28 PM
May get that ps4 this time, please btc drop before the 30.. just long enough for me to buy less then go back up on the 30th Cheesy

You mean that you want to bitcoin price to go up so you have more purchasing power  Wink
Then for the price to go down after you make the purchase.

Anyways I am still getting that server issue here starting to grind my rails a bit but I guess i'm alone on this one, might be because what I decided to purchase didn't qualify for the special even though the Bitcoin option showed up will have to experiment with it.
6864  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Malaysia Airlines MH17 Crash: Boeing 777 Crashed in Ukraine Near Russian Border on: August 31, 2014, 09:20:44 PM
It sucks to fly on Malaysia Airlines
(In my head thinking FINALLY SOME LEG ROOM)

If you can move some of the chairs in the cabin area that is
Malaysia Airlines flights left with rows of empty seats as company struggles after disasters

They need to re-brand the company after having two huge disasters in one year. Fire the entire management team, and government officials responsible for the airline industry.

Short of doing this, no one in the world will use Malaysia Airline again.

True enough once a reputation is destroyed its hard to recover.

Although to be honest we don't know if there were any plane defects since one is still lost in the Ocean, and the other didn't break down but got shut down by a missile so technically their planes are safe to fly.

The main issue is that people are scared of the Omen over them more than anything else.

Reading the last few  posts seems it's not a good idea to load these cards right now?

According to my experiences (6 mb cards with 2000 Euro blocked - status active)
I wouldn't. Looks like the bank is fraudulent.

Was keeping track of this thread for a while, was curious how long they would work.
That said assuming its not politically related perhaps its time to open a Scam accusation thread?

Either that or this thread and its the bank at fault not the seller in this case

6868  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bank account suspended for buying bitcoins? on: August 31, 2014, 11:38:20 AM
wow I wonder if the employees got a message from the CEO and said anything related to bitcoin suspend there accounts because this threatens your job and the way of our business message, what ya think about everyone receiving this message.

In another thread there was talks of banks receiving internal memos about Bitcoin a while ago
Not sure how many banks have policies on it at this stage in the game but they are likely more than aware of it.

Example of Raiffesien Bank International in April
https://www.bitcoinregime.com/2014/04/08/raiffeisen-bank-international-internal-memo/

Internal Finance Memo Canada in May 2013 as examples
http://www.ctvnews.ca/business/internal-finance-memo-warns-of-potential-for-bitcoin-related-crime-1.1935898

That said initial reactions tend to change over time as more information is given so they will likely change their policies soon as well.
Can tell from how Canada handles its approach to Bitcoin in May 2013 vs now in 2014.
6869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and me (Hal Finney) on: August 31, 2014, 11:26:34 AM
In the wake of bitcoin groundbreaker Hal Finney’s passing a few days ago, some prominent figures in the bitcoin community have teamed up in a campaign to raise funds for research into amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Thank you Hal for your contributions to Bitcoin, and also for raising awareness of ALS and getting Bitcoiners on board.
Also for getting Gavin to soak himself for the cause

http://www.coindesk.com/community-honors-hal-finney-bitcoin-fund-als-research/

May more icebuckets fall down to find a cure to this disease.

The main donation address is here https://blockchain.info/address/1JsnZLEGgLJY7rbDdaKTzC2JyvfaKUpF5p. Donations will be accepted through the Thanksgiving holiday (27th November) in the US and the payment will be made on 2nd December.
6870  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-31] Community Honors Hal Finney with Bitcoin Fund for ALS Research on: August 31, 2014, 11:23:36 AM
This should be crosslinked with the Hal Thread (Edit: Noted the Bitcoin campaign there and how he helped to start it)
I'm glad to hear that Bitcoiners are doing the Ice Bucket Challenge which hal wins hands down since hes doing the Liquid nitrogen version of it in cryo and is raising awareness of ALS, and we can fund it with Bitcoins.

Erik Voorhees, co-founder of Coinapult, Jason King of Sean’s Outpost, bitcoin evangelist Roger Ver, BitPay and the Bitcoin Foundation have collaborated to provide a way to donate bitcoin to ALS research.

Bitcoin Foundation chief scientist Gavin Andresen made the video above to kick off the campaign, named the Hal Finney Bitcoin Fund for ALS Research.

Also surprised no one mentioned how Gavin soaked himself yet here is the clip lazy people ^^.

6871  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Europe Needs to Embrace Islam - The New York Times on: August 31, 2014, 11:17:25 AM
What this tells us is that terrorism has worked. Our elected "leaders", our military and our press are afraid to tell the truth about Islam for fear of the horrific consequences.

Well on the other end you could do a Putin and say we will not cater to minorities at all but only to the majority of our people.
In other words Europe should not embrace Islam or Cater to Minorities.

On February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:

”In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live  in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need  minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation.

The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians.”
6872  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: August 31, 2014, 11:12:14 AM
BitFighting.com only has five spots open? Hardly seems worth it. The signatures will barely be even noticed, especially with most of them seemingly just being Members.

Well in the sense that it will be noticed on the overview page it does get some advertising from here as well
But your right it does seem like it will get little attention.
Kind of neat though since they have a stats tracker on their page if it moves from 398 players then its easy to measure how effective it will be.
Also a metric for new registrations.
6873  Economy / Securities / Re: Cavirtex Private Shares on: August 31, 2014, 11:07:13 AM
Note that "accredited investor" has a specific meaning...

http://www.osc.gov.on.ca/en/21943.htm

So it could be the case that unless you provide your OSC registration details, you will be forcibly refunded.

If I recall correctly cavirtex said you didn't need to be accredited, so now I'm not sure if that legal definition did change.
That said it would be hard to forcibly refund someone who didn't provide details seems like they would time out and be forced to take the money if they respond past the deadline.

lol closed just an hour after it's announcement Cheesy

I deleted that post because I answered my own question U_U
But I think it sits in PYNC for one week if I recall correctly still a fast close lol, added for all of 10 minutes  if it was even that long.
Otherwise it beat the thread addition since there were PM's being sent during this time  Grin
6875  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Julian Assange Announces Plan to Leave Ecuadorian Embassy 'Soon' on: August 31, 2014, 10:55:51 AM

That may actually be correct, if his group is monitoring the traffic and movements of people who enter and leave the embassy and what they do when they monitor them, then it makes sense to use a good sample size and then determine which method is the most efficient one to escape.

That or Assange builds a tunnel sneaks into the sewage system comes out outside the embassy and then takes a ride safely away from there with no one the wiser.
Sounds like The Great Escape ^_^.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Escape_%28film%29

I would doubt that he would try to escape via tunnel systems as this would not allow him to use the cover of the ecuador government. If he were to be captured while traveling with an official convoy then the ecuador government could say that his arrest would be the same as the government arresting one of their diplomats while he would be more or less on his own if he tried to escape via tunnel systems.

Well I was thinking if he could get away in an Ecuadorian Convoy waiting outside the building then use the tunnel systems to get into a diplomatic limo it would work, the way they would determine the best way to approach it is by monitoring the monitors and their patterns when vehicles come and go to the embassy, simply put if they are monitoring the movements of the embassy but not what is occurring out of it then it makes more sense to do a transfer outside even if near the embassy.

That said if he wants to escape or leave the embassy some time soon he will have to take the risk even if its with a diplomatic convoy of getting arrested, either that or surrender and make a plea deal.
Its a tricky situation though for him since he could just stay in the embassy but how does he get out of it.
I am not 100% sure as to how the embassy is setup but if it would be possible for him to get into a car with heavily tinted windows without anyone seeing that he got into the car then he should be able to stay in the car as long as he needs to and would be safer in a diplomatic convoy then on his own in a network of tunnels. It would be much easier to monitor a tunnel system then it would the garage of a foreign embassy.

Good question itsAj if I could get a copy of the embassy's design and building plans I could give you an answer of how that would work in practice, also I would learn how likely it could be executed in reality. But I don't think you can access that info unless you go to the London building planners and ask them for a copy of the drafts yourself in person. (awkward conversation unless you bluff that your a reporter and want to describe his living conditions and the embassy's design for the media before being told its classified to the public but if that works (Just say your the dailymail they do enough of those types of articles ^_^*)

But since you mentioned logistics apparently their is a loading bay for Harrods right outside the embassy, he could load himself onto in a box then someone could drive him out as cargo so I'm sure there are a lot of ways to sneak out of the embassy just as long as he can get past those cops.

The magazine quotes the 42-year-old as saying: “I couldn’t sleep because of the Harrods loading bay and the cops always doing shift changes outside. And the quietest room is the women’s bathroom, the only room that’s easy to sleep in. So I thought I’d try and somehow get hold of it and renovate it. Eventually, somewhat reluctantly, the staff relented. They ripped out the toilet. They’ve been very generous.”

He is sheltering in the embassy building behind Harrods from attempts to extradite him to Sweden to face allegations of sexual offences.

6876  Economy / Economics / Re: Would u pay in bitcoin? on: August 31, 2014, 10:35:26 AM
My question is if u see something u would like to buy and this item is offered at a lower price if paid using bitcoins, providing that you don't already have a wallet or coins would you take the time to set up a wallet and buy bitcoins just to be able to receive a discount on the item u wish to purchase?

Interestingly enough Newegg has a promotion for Bitcoin going on right now that is testing that theory out
If you buy an Xbox One using newegg for 399.99 and get 50 dollars off its 349.99 + 20 dollars for shipping and that can't be beat anywhere else as it is a fixed price item.
By the same token if they bought 500 dollars of merchandize they would get to spend another 100 dollars and get 150 dollars off a 500 dollar purchase.
So 350+40 for shipping is = 390 dollars still cheaper than what they would get an Xbox for in the Store + They get a 100 dollar item basically free.

So in my opinion some people would do it if they find something they want, especially if its a fixed price item and they can still save more money and get more stuff than if they went to a Walmart to check it out Smiley.
6877  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: August 31, 2014, 10:31:25 AM
Back on the Vaccination front with regards to ZMapp
Ebola outbreak: ZMapp protects sick monkeys
Findings warrant further development of cocktail for clinical use, Canadian researchers say

A Phase 1 safety study is scheduled to begin in healthy humans in early 2015. Mapp BioPharmaceuticals, which has licensed the drug, is conducting the next stages of research needed to seek regulatory approval for ZMapp.

If safety data from a Phase 1 trial in humans in the U.S. supports the compassionate use of ZMapp, Kobinger expects it could be used under Health Canada’s special access program possibly by spring. But scaling up production in tobacco plants to stockpile thousands of doses is another matter.

So in other words
"Unfortunately, it's not like Hollywood where they make a drug or a vaccine in 24 hours and save the world. You know, it does take some time," Geisbert said.

In the meantime new cases will keep spreading
http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/ebola-outbreak-zmapp-protects-sick-monkeys-1.2750199

In my opinion Skip Trials let people decide if they want to use it or not knowing full well the risk Ebola presents.

man i remember when LTC was $45. ahh the good ol' days.

I wish I bought litecoin at this price and then sold it at 45 dollars
But that was back during the Bitcoin rally as well I feel bad for the people who bought at that price and yep that definitely is life.
6880  Economy / Services / Re: [DiceBitco.in] [Make the most out of your sig!] Make coins by simply posting! on: August 31, 2014, 10:19:55 AM
The payment is on the 30th right? Just confirming. What time we getting paid?
You get paid at the end of the month. So we should receive a payment between today and tomorrow.

This will be a battle of mortal combat lol.
Well in terms of everyone rushing to the new thread anyways up to date and will be on standby

After the changes of terms, I doubt we will see such battle. It is 4x+ more work to receive at most 2x more, compared to fixed rates, that I guess many will just switch to other campaigns.

Also no members to take spot, and 80 reserved for seniors and above.

yeah your right the 200 post alone is not worth it, he will just get members with alt accounts and not true members.  you can go on fixed rate and get more then what you are getting here, making it 400 to 200 post a month is not worth it just for 0.05 btc more
Means more spam on his campaign I dont think he can afford to pay for more then 200 posts

True enough its 0.1 for 50 or 0.2 for 200 there is an incentive downwards for Senior members
Heros can move up to 0.28 which is roughly double 0.15 so there is some variance there a bit less actually in percentage terms.
That said at present most of the fixed campaigns are on closed status so for a while there may be a few that sit here while waiting for a new campaign to come up, and just park here.

And your right didn't see it was split 80 20 in that case there will be a fast rush for the 20 before the 80 spots are filled, was just accounting for the dropped half of PD lol.
