6881  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ten years later on: March 20, 2018, 12:01:47 PM
The value affects the price, and I'm going to analyze the value of the decade.

To understand the value of bitcoin, we start with the basic value of money, which is also money.

Money is the most common and effective mutual trust system ever. In any form of currency, its value is essentially: "does anyone believe" why the dollar is the most valuable? Because the world believes in it.

The popularity of bitcoin has grown rapidly in recent years with the development of the Internet. I predict that the price of bitcoins in 10 years should be more than half a million dollars.

That's a bold prediction but half a million is possible. No one thought that $20K is possible as well, but we hit it last year. But to get to half a mil, we need further adoption. We need other superpowers to join and enter the picture and embrace bitcoin like Japan did.

But considering that a lot of regulations have been going on, I don't know that there are countries that wants to join as of now. Maybe in 10 years bitcoin worth nothing, or its worth 1 million. We will never know until we get there.
6882  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if the Mt. Gox trustee didn't dumped bitcoin on: March 20, 2018, 11:19:24 AM
Guys,

What do you think the price will be of today if he didn't dumped the Mt. Gox coins?

(1) - The price will rode new all-time-high and we maybe around the $20K-$30K by now?
(2) - The price will eventually plummet no matter what because of the sudden rise last December when there's a lot of investors (FOMO) suddenly pours cash on the market?

Please share your thoughts?
The price could have fall but not to the level that we have seen. Outside the dump by Mt. Gox trustee there were a lot of others fundamentals issues that plug bitcoin price down. The time is coming when most of the things that are happening now will be a things of the past and the place that price ought to be will be achieved.

Yeah, I would also think that bitcoin will fall that hard after what we have seen last December. So the fall is about to happen, personally, it should have happen much earlier around January-February.

However, the Mt. Gox dumping has really help or somewhat push the price to its edge, and know we are all somewhat suffering from all this brouhaha.

$9K Ahead? Bitcoin Looks North After Bull Breakout

Bitcoin (BTC) looks set to extend its two-day winning streak and could soon test the $9,000 mark, technical analysis suggests.

Over the last two days, bitcoin has retraced close to 30 percent of the recent drop from $11,660 (March 5 high) to $7,335 (March 18 high). Further, the cryptocurrency also witnessed an upside break of the key descending trendline yesterday. So, it appears the world's largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization has bottomed out for the short-term.

However, despite the bull flag breakout, the cryptocurrency has been restricted to a narrow range of $8,200-$8,700 for the better part of the last 20 hours.

6884  Economy / Economics / Re: PNB looks into use of bitcoin! on: March 13, 2018, 11:54:17 PM
Is it bitcoin that they are really interested or blockchain instead.

Although bitcoin and crypto is freely open in the Philippines, its doesn't have enough traction on the country. They only have coins.ph, which is the most recognizable exchanges in the country.

And just like any banks around the world, PNB will like be against bitcoin so I have doubts about this news. So I think we should observe if this is really the way PNB wanted in the long run.
6885  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC PUSHES PAST $ 10K on: March 13, 2018, 11:36:48 PM
Give it another month yet, and by that time we should be out of this rout we are currently in.
I would rather prefer to remain happy with current levels, because we definitely need something to happen in order to give the market the boost that it needs. Knowing that most people here chase quick profits, it won't be easy.

If the market keeps hovering under the $10,000 mark, traders might start to lose interest and confidence and dump out of boredom. People are used to +$10,000 levels, where everything below that mark is just a no go.

We have to admit that this market is largely hype driven, and for that reason need events to motivate traders to start buying. I think that without anything interesting happening, the boost needs to be related to LN.

Otherwise what else?

I agree that LN will really be the catalyst to see bitcoin go back to its previous luster. But I guess it won't hurt us if we just have to wait a little longer before finally rolling out.

What else? How about halving? or even another country such as big as Japan finally went nuts and finally legalizing bitcoin? Or China embracing bitcoin again? (lol). Let's see how it goes and I guess that will only time.
6886  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cease and desist order on Genesis mining in South Carolina on: March 13, 2018, 11:17:52 PM
Probably a good step on curbing out the bad eggs amongst the cryptoverse. I'm sure that this will really set a precedent and will sent shockwaves and a message to those cloud mining sites who's goal is to really scam and take off the money of the investors.

We have been hearing a lot of how many scams those cloud mining sites are and yet there are still willing to invest on them. But with this news, scammers will likely think twice not to pursue their goals anymore. This is a welcoming news indeed.
6887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who took my crypto on: March 13, 2018, 10:13:35 PM
Never heard of Freewallet.com but it looks like they are scams. Based on your feedback. But I don't think that you have to blame blockchain for your issue. IF you have done your due diligence and do your homework and search everything that you can find on the web about Freewallet.com, then you wouldn't be bitching around and crying like you are the only victims here. We have been victimized by scammers along our journey but we put it aside, let that be a lessons learned and moved forward.

Japan to Call for G20 Action on Crypto Money Laundering

Japan is reportedly planning to use a G20 meeting next week to call for combined regulatory efforts to combat the use of cryptocurrencies in money laundering.

The news comes via a Reuters report citing a government official with knowledge of the situation. However, the likelihood of the G20 finance chiefs uniting on new international rules are not high, the official said, as different countries approach regulation of cryptocurrencies in a variety of ways.

"The general feeling among the G20 members is that applying too stringent regulations won't be good," an official was quoted as saying.

The G20 meeting will take place in Buenos Aires from March 19-20.

If Japan makes the call for cooperative action on cryptocurrencies, the nation will likely not be alone.

On Feb. 9, senior officials from France and Germany also called for the G20 group to discuss combined action on cryptocurrencies.

In a letter to the Argentinian government - which currently holds the presidency of the G20 - French finance minister Bruno Le Maire, German finance minister Peter Altmaier, and the heads of their respective central banks, expressed concerns about the risk of cryptocurrencies for investors.

A week earlier, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin also indicated he would raise the subject of cryptocurrency regulation during an upcoming G20 summit. Like Japan, he raised the issue of cryptocurrency use in money laundering and other illicit activities.

6889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin?? on: March 13, 2018, 09:27:21 PM
What is best according to you? Bitcoin or Altcoin?

If I have to choose only one, then I would go to bitcoin ecosystem. Simply because the market is somewhat stable with a lot of investors willing to pour their money anytime and I don't agree others think of it as a bubble.

Altcoins though give you much return, however, you need to ride the waves of the pump, otherwise you can't maximize your profit, and will just get few hundred dollars when you can earn thousands or more with bitcoin market.
6890  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: March 13, 2018, 09:22:37 PM

I can see that soon almost exchanges and even ICO programs will be requiring us to do the KYC procedures where we are required to pass copies of our legal documents before we are granted entrance or the use of the services or programs we are interested with. This can be as common as having a password or 2FA.

Now, personally I have no big problem with it though just like anybody else am also concerned that my personal information can be divulged to anybody or a group that might use it for any illegal purpose. This is one risk we are facing once we are actively living in the online world. Evil people who can be thousands of miles away can now be just one click away.

What are your apprehensions about the KYC procedures that will soon be as popular as noodles?

If its on a trading platform I would say that I'm not a fan of it. But if is one way to least put a everything in perspective then why not? The only thing that I don't like is that its possible that they will share this info to a third party or something. Scary if this gets to the hands of a hacker.

As for KYC, nah, I will not risk giving them my info. I don't know, but I don't trust ICO asking for KYC or your local passport. I'm not comfortable giving them my personal info.
6891  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BEST methods of growing your Bitcoins. on: March 13, 2018, 09:11:05 PM

It is hard to find someone willing to share a good way of earning money, usually they are not sharing,
so let's make a difference here.

BEST methods of growing your Bitcoins:

Faucets: very small amount for short time.

Signature campaign: small amount but much better than faucet until now.

Cloudmining: very little profit if any, usually not profitable.

Mining: Many factors coming into play, such as BTC price, cost of the equipment
and electricity cost. Cheap electricity makes mining profitable.

Trading with altcoins: Difficult and risky but you can get a good profit from it.

Startups: Lookout for startups.

Gambling: Investment in gambling sites is a option, but very risky.

HOLD or HODL: Keep your Bitcoins in storage and then wait for the price to grow,
and then sell it for a huge profit.

Buying: The best way to grow your bitcoins is to just buy them.

Security: Protect your coins from robberies and hacks. Avoid scams.

Keep patience:  The moment you’re ready to quit is usually the moment right before
a miracle happens. Don’t give up.

Would be interesting how other people judge the quality of my posts/threads.
You introduced the merit system in order to get quality posts.
Let's see then. Is this a quality post?

Faucets? I don think so.

Gambling. - you will end up losing at the end, eventually.

If you really wanted to know how to earn bitcoin. Check this thread:

Although the OP is not that active and I'm not sure if he has updated it as well.
6892  Economy / Economics / Re: Manny Pacquiao invests in cryptocurrency firm, is set to launch PAC Coin? on: March 13, 2018, 08:55:04 PM
We know how Manny Pacquiao's charisma. You wouldn't imagine him winning and getting a Senate seat in the Philippines. And him venturing in crypto will be a positive news not only for Fliipinos, but the whole cryptosphere. Currently, we have seen a lot of sports personalities including his rival Floyd getting into crypto as well.

But the way I understand it, he is venturing or just a investor and not launching his own PacCoin. Anyways, lets see how it goes to the fighting pride of the Philippines and this is really a welcoming news.
6893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Pools on: March 12, 2018, 07:22:58 AM
Damn, I didn't know that there are a lot of ICO pools, I thought that there are just mining pools however, it looks like this is a very lucrative and attractive way to earn more money out of crypto.

But then again, just like those mining pools in the beginning, everyone is paying good dividends but at the end of the day, one by one they disappear and scam their investors. So I wouldn't advise specially newbies to try this one, don't be greedy and used your common sense and better judgement.
6894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Blockchain? on: March 12, 2018, 06:39:39 AM
Is it really the cryptocurrency Bitcoin that Satoshi Nakamoto focuses his attention with while creating this invention? or the blockchain? Is bitcoin just a front up to showcase the blockchain technology?

I think blockchain is the real deal in here not the cryptocurrency bitcoin.
Please share me your thoughts regarding this matter.

You have to understand that blockchain has a lot of functional used not only with bitcoins. It can be used by different industry and you wouldn't believed that banks, yes, banks is the first recipient of this beautiful technology but they keeps on attacking it.

Yes, blockchain in the real deal and bitcoin is the king of cryptos. And there are really lot of features like incorruptible ledger and everything that has value can be recorded and can't be edited so its very secured as well.
6895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Expected etherium prices by the end of 2018 on: March 12, 2018, 06:20:46 AM
Will Ethereum reach $ 2000 by the end of 2018?
And with the current market turbulence, what should I invest in?

Personally, I think it will still test a new all-time-high, so maybe $2K is possible at the end of the year. Around May-June 2017, Ethereum enjoyed one of its best run culminating in its new all-time-high that time and their are proponents on the so called 'Flippening', however, it didn't materialized.

And then this January it peaked at above $1K before this crisis took over the market scene. But there are a lot of companies adopting its smart contracts technology and the team of dev and advisors are solid and legit. So I think that its possible that $2K at the end of 2018 will be touch or even higher.
6896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Alt Coins are a scam. on: March 12, 2018, 06:15:47 AM
Well this is what the insightful Tone Vays claims...

He claims that ETH, DASH, shit 99.5% of all the ALTS are scams and the only coin that will survive is Bitcoin.

So l guess we should all sell our Alts now!

He even says that 90% of blockchain companies are meaningless. lol.

https://news.bitcoin.com/tone-vays-90-bitcoin-cos-meaningless/

I'm not following this guy so I don't don't where he's coming from. All I know is that he is a Wall Street guys, and maybe he is bullish about bitcoin that's why he said that. But hey, altcoins still enjoying the support of many investors and this community and ETH and DASH are among the top 10 coins. I would advise to used your due diligence and do not take everyone's opinion seriously.
6897  Economy / Speculation / Re: When You Think Market Boom Again? on: March 12, 2018, 05:56:04 AM
So much speculation on this question. As beginning to end of 2017 Saw a Major Boom and increase in BTC and other Cryptos
Do you see this happening again? As large growth spurt again for BTC for 2018? or at least a steady long growth that could carry into 2019 again? or do you see things staying stabilized and just small growth?
maybe the day of Bitcoin millionaires are over?
thoughts on this?

Eventually, bitcoin will really take off, probably in the next quarter, we will see that it will slowly regain its luster and then the price picks up and make a bullrun hitting all-time-highs.

Just sad though that at the beginning of this year was a wild price spring and its seems we can't even break the $12K barrier. But with bitcoin's proven record, it will be just a matter time before we see the price increases overtime.
6898  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Daily Routines in Crypto on: March 11, 2018, 11:39:15 PM
Of course upon waiting up I check the price and see what might have been the factors that causing the +/-. And then go around the forum make few comments here and there and login to my account and see how my investments are doing.

Also made few orders If I'm in the mood. I also suggest that you do more time and research the coin that you have investments and try to see what will happen to it in the future. Mostly though I tend to be positive specially tokens. But If I felt that there's future and no value at all but pure hype I will definitely go and sell the coins.
6899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market corrections are good on: March 11, 2018, 11:32:41 PM
Market corrections are good for those who still have funds available to purchase.  It is always a good idea to keep Bitcoins in your portfolio for this exact reason.  It's painful to watch the market correct and you don't have any money left to buy up the cheap cryptocurrencies.

Yeah, that's the sad part sometimes. You have been presented a perfect opportunity to buy and store more coins. However, if you don't have the money and funds during that time, its somewhat disappointed and other tend to borrow just to re-invest.

But I wouldn't advise you to go that route. If I don't have the money, eventhough I'm disappointed, I won't borrow money but instead wait for another dip and if chances are that I have the funds then I will be ready and purchase more coins.
6900  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin correction? on: March 11, 2018, 11:25:02 PM
Hey bitcointalk, i want to ask proffesional players in cryptocurrency world opinion about bitcoin correction, is it going at least to 4k$?

I can't imagine bitcoin $4K anytime soon, unless there are really bad news coming that will cause the price to this low. I agree that the Mt. Gox coins has something to do with the recent dump but it looks like we are bouncing back again because investors have realized now that there is no negatives news, although we have the Binance attack, it doesn't contributed to slide we see because they are quick in their actions.

Everything as settled down. And $4K will not be tested but another march to $12K and even higher at the end of the month.
