6881  Economy / Economics / Re: thoughts on companies becoming too powerful? on: August 03, 2019, 04:59:09 AM
Disney has become the media giant and has been on a spending spree for the last decade buying up different ips.

Facebook has been buying up all their competition and is the dominant social media company and nothing else can compete with it.

Companies become so big and they have enormous power over us, do you think companies like this should be broken up by the government or be allowed to reign supreme?

These companies are operating in a country, where the free market is practiced, as long as it is legal and they pay the right taxes, you are allowed to expand your business, it's actually good for countries to allow this to happen because it means employment and revenue through taxes, I don't see any disadvantages, you did not specify either what's the disadvantages.
6882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Speculation on: August 03, 2019, 04:29:42 AM
sell in May and go away!

What are your price assumptions for summer 2019?

So far it's looking good we're almost half this year and the price is moving up but at least we are out of the bear trend probably the longest bear trend we've had, now that we have set the longest bear trend, I'm hoping that we can set the longest bull run in the history and another all-time high if not this year, maybe early next year.
6883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Litecon Halving will impact the price of Litecoin? on: August 03, 2019, 03:54:40 AM
So far nothing is happening in its price, maybe not now but in the coming months, but there is research that Bitcoin and litecoin do not make an impact on its price contrary to what is believed.

Quote
“The divergence and seemingly random results before and following a halving suggests that the underlying factors driving price is not a shift in supply and demand dynamics.”

6884  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good news! Bitcoin Price Breaks $10K Barrier on: August 03, 2019, 02:52:57 AM
We're very excited every time Bitcoin breaks into a new price level, but there's  always a pit along the way, we have seen that happens in the last couple of months, people see it as correction, for some a good opportunity to buy again, but one of the good things is, Bitcoin has a good support from going down below the $8000 level.
6885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's probably the oldest question but they still ask it? on: August 03, 2019, 02:21:44 AM
People love answering this kind of question over and over again, because this is a good thread to hype or promote coins they are hodling or promoting, this is one of the questions that will be asked over and over again as long as Cryptocurrency is existing and people will not get enough answering it because it's an open question and there are a lot of answers to be given.
6886  Economy / Economics / Re: The Central Bank of Facebook on: August 03, 2019, 01:57:46 AM
Unfortunately, the US government do not see it that way, they have their own perception and judgement based on their constitution and framework and they see Facebook's Libra coin as a big threat to the banking industry and the strength of the dollar, they do not want interruption and they do not want a new financial power coming in to challenge them.
6887  Economy / Economics / Re: hackers becoming smarter than exchanges? on: August 03, 2019, 01:39:25 AM
Well most of us here are already aware of the hacking activities of binance and bancor. They are taking practical measures to track down the culprits but the question on my mind is why could coincidentally both exchanges be hacked? Now it appears that the exchanges are not moving at a faster and innovative ways to upgrading their systems and allow these hackers time to study their systems well, identify the loop holes and cause the problem. In my opinion, exchanges should always move in an unpredictable way so as to always confuse these scammers .The scammers are scaring new investors away and this must stop.Exchanges must be up and doing so that we can attract new investors into cryptocurrency else our efforts are going in vain to attracting new investors.

I agree with your observation, they should a step ahead of these hackers, they should employ the best security people to manage they have the funds to do that, security should be their main concern, I advise investors to go for a big exchange, that has proven to have very good security in place and can guaranty traders funds in case of a hack.
6888  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Libra Disrupt The Financial/Economic System? on: August 03, 2019, 01:26:51 AM

Lately, there is a big buzz and fuzz on the introduction of the new cryptocurrency (some called it as fake) called as Libra which is under the leadership and influence of the people behind the Facebook social media conglomerate. What resembled like a circus, politicians and other known personalities expressed apprehension that what Libra can bring will put the global financial and economic system under jeopardy and control of a select few men which I assumed the public don't trust.

But I am wondering...is Libra really that potent that it can disrupt the currency financial system or are these people just imagining things which will never happen anyway? Are we ascribing power and influence on Mark Zuckerberg that can turn out to be a dud later?

All of these are just possibilities we never know how things will turn out but the government of the United States, already stated, that they do not want Libra coin and Facebook comply and concede, so we will never have a chance to see it happen, maybe in the future we really need a big company coming up to join Cryptocurrency and Facebook is such a huge company.
6889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Inform Yourself? on: August 03, 2019, 01:05:03 AM
I would like to add https://cointelegraph.com/ they are so updated and very reputable Cryptocurrency news site, but I like something that people can make a discussion out of it, and so my best choice is this forum, Bitcointalk, people are very past to post or create a thread that stirs up conversation coming from one article they quote.
6890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOT (HOLO) scam ? on: August 03, 2019, 12:47:26 AM
Hi guys
do u think that HOT devs scamming peoples and they are responsible for price dump ?
HOT price dump from 30 sat to 10 sat in few weeks
and not only HOT i think DENT and NPXS are scam and shit coins too

There are two coins with the ticker HOT, you should be specific if you think it is you should post your evidence and proof that they are indeed dumping their share and they are scamming people, the price drop has so many reasons, one of these is whales dumping their shares, they still have a good volume, if you are not comfortable with this coin anymore, you can sell it.
6891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do with a 1000$ and what would you do? on: August 03, 2019, 12:20:04 AM
My first thought was to put it in to Altcoins, Like
Ethereum
RSR
Theta
EOS

These would be my picks 100% Which coin would you leave out or add to that?

I was also thinking
Of Buying a Masternode and run it on a Vps, but I have 0 experience with that and I was looking for one and joined a few discords, and it was kinda a shitshow.
So I dont know how to look for good ones yet and it's a bigger risk then Altcoins in my opinion from what I have seen.
Does anybody have any experience with running a Masternode and how did that go for you?

A mining rig is probably to expensive, also the powercosts in my country are not that great so not really a option I think.

Create my own T-shirt Company
I know a Artist I could pay for a design or maybe even a collaboration where he could earn a % of the sales from the t-shirts.
Also have the fabric I want and all the idea's ready to go, this would probably be the most work, creating social media's, trying to get in retail stores, create a brand, and a lot more of course!

If you have any other ideas your welcome to add them, and let me know what you would do!

I think creating your own t-shirt company for $1000 is a good choice if you are going to start an investment, you're just going to incorporate cryptocurrency investment if you are making an income from your t-shirt company, the income from your t-shirt company I'm sure will be fast it depends on how you market it compare to cryptocurrency which is very volatile.
6892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Length of time you recover after getting scammed on: August 02, 2019, 02:56:26 PM
All  of us here, as bounty hunters and investors, get scammed one time or another, maybe hundreds or thousands of dollars
so I would like to ask the  Length of time you can recover after getting scammed.

Do you look for another project right away so you can recover your losses or you totally stopped investing.
6893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can We Crowdsource A Symbol For The Satoshi? on: August 02, 2019, 02:51:57 PM
We have BTC why we need another symbol?
It's like creating another symbol for only Ray Tomlinson besides the simbol @ for email.

If you think to represent satoshis (as unit of value) we have already mBTC which works great. The $ sign is same, same sign for cents.

So what will be the purpose for it ?

That's true we don't need anything that will confuse people especially those coming in, we are pretty much ok on what we already have right now, no need to add more symbolism, there's a thread I read that they want to change the name of Bitcoin or it's symbol, that will create confusion and possibly lose all the efforts that we've done for the last ten years.
6894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will bitcoin be replace by ethereum/ripple on: August 02, 2019, 02:18:05 PM
Ethereum has been use widely for ICO purchase which have given this coin a high recognition. And also ripple has been on test for her technology in financial institutions to use since it can process trasactions than bitcoin. Will these two coins replace bitcoin and become number 1 on the coinmarketcap

After 17 months it's still bitcoin and its hold in the market is as strong as ever, people should push Bitcoin, because if we can get as many companies, people and countries adopt Bitcoin all Cryptocurrencies, Ethereum, Ripple and other altcoins will also benefit, but right now it should all about Bitcoin.
6895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC will hit 500++ on july 15 2019 on: August 02, 2019, 01:53:22 PM
halving is in august 2019, here is the explanation what that means: https://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/litecoin-halving/

i checked the price in 2015 a month before halving, it went x7, and it stablize x2 before halving date.

so lets say it will be 110 x 5 not x7= 550 usd, then it will stablize at 220.

This is estimated price. I personally think it will hit 680 on july 15.

your thoughts?

Altcoins price follows Bitcoin's price, I don't see that happening unless the price of Bitcoin zoomed up to $25000 to $30000 level, halving is good but we are not talking about Bitcoin halving we are talking about altcoin halving although it's last halving did make an impact, but we are in a different scenario now.
6896  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Zentobyte | Bitcoin Advertising Network | Advertise Your Online Business Here on: August 02, 2019, 11:19:10 AM
great to see a new bitcoin ad network.
But only CPM model might be not that interesting for advertisers in the btc traffic.
But i will try it as advertiser and Publisher since the withdraw and deposit rates are really low Wink

regards

CPM model is the best method to display ads as CPC (cost per click) model can be abused via fraud clicking.

That's true if you don't have a good system to track click fraud, you will be paying a lot to publishers without getting good results coming from the campaign, only Google has a good place tracking system that can trace if the clicks are fraud or not, I wish success to your business we need more advertising network dedicated o cryptocurrency.
6897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which do you think is better, buy at tokensale or buy at public exchange? on: August 02, 2019, 11:03:05 AM
Because the cryptocurrency situation is currently not the same as before. So I want to ask all of you in here, so that I don't lose money in investing. Which do you think is better, buy when ico / ieo / tokensale and get a bonus or buy when it is listed in the public exchange/market at a low price? I personally prefer to participate in the tokensale but see the current situation, when a token / coin list in the market is cheap, this makes me very confused to invest. How about you? Can you share your mind and help me out my confused

Some of the coins in the ICO staged are having a hard time getting listed to a more popular exchange, so I prefer buying coins when it hit the market, provided that they are listed on a more popular and reputable exchange, like Binance, Kucoin and Bittrex, coins listed on these exchange get the most volume, compared when listed to small exchange.
6898  Economy / Speculation / Re: the price of bitcoin again above 10,000, where it will move ?? interesting on: August 02, 2019, 10:41:56 AM
Last month I was expecting Bitcoin to move to the $11000 level but its dips to $9000, hopefully now it touches to the $10000 level it's not going to drop to the $9000 level anymore if we are going to have a new all-time high, we must break the $13000 this early, hopefully, this month of August will bring us a good results.
6899  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: why we should not trust ico review website on: August 02, 2019, 09:23:42 AM
I stopped using when I found out at that they do not want to take down high rating to one coin that scammed its investors, although they have no control over how the project that they list will perform in the market, they should at least marked these ICO as scam, but they let the rating remains.
6900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: What the next 4 years look like? on: August 02, 2019, 09:13:57 AM
You will find out the answer from the link in below,

https://www.coindesk.com/what-the-next-4-years-of-ethereum-look-like

I just tried to do some research about ETH and someone said ETH's birthday today. That's why, it created a curiosity in my mind then I did it and found this. Please read it if you interested to know about ETH.

I do appreciate those who will make comments for further news which he or she have and share your feelings.

Great articles, it justifies my belief that Ethereum will still be the second big coin in the market and all these four years they have cemented their stature as the industry's leading innovator, we will see a lot more on Ethereum on the next four years, there are a lot of threat to it's position but Ethereum will likely stay on the second position.
