6901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korean Law Enforcement to Launch Investigations on Altcoin Pump-and-Dump on: September 08, 2015, 04:37:51 PM
I don't see what they are going to be able to do about pump and dumps, the ponzi scam sites being operated in their country could be handled but that's all I see happening.

Many PnD are created from the alt-coin creators themselves.
They might be trying to stop them but unless the developers are in South Korea then there is no chance of that happening.
Also, I doubt they could stop web ponzis if they use crypto.
I don't see how they would be able to prove anything when it comes to a PnD, also a vpn and not say they are located in SK is all they would need to keep the law at bay.

i agree, i don't see any way that law enforcement can prove that a person or a group has done any sort of Pumping and Dumping in any court of law.
unless that person or group had openly announced that they are doing it like having a P'nD group.
6902  Other / Off-topic / Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ? on: September 08, 2015, 04:32:57 PM
i really like bitcoin itself and it has many factors and uses that i like but there is one thing i like best in bitcoin and that is its anonimity. i know it's not completely anonymous but compared to other payment processors, bitcoin is the best on anonimity.
although bitcoin remain anonymous has the disadvantage that you can not ask the bitcoin refund if it has been sent. therefore you should be careful

There can be a third party that can act as an intermediary for transactions, or something like an escrow service that ensures the seller completes their part of the transaction before releasing the payment.

then what is the point of using bitcoin? using a third party would be the same as using a bank or like using PayPal. and third parties don't come free either.
i think services need to built up their trust. for instance if steam starts accepting bitcoin, nobody would even think about not trusting it.
6903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal Pulls Out of Puerto Rico; Huge Opening for Bitcoin on: September 08, 2015, 04:25:03 PM
bitcoin has always been a good substitute for paypal and this is just an opportunity, the important thing is to take advantage of this situation . if businesses start realizing the advantages of bitcoin, then we can consider a mass adoption that everyone is waiting for.
6904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Issue with bitaddress.org 20BTC reward for assistance on: September 08, 2015, 02:26:34 PM
if what OP wants is at all possible, wouldn't it be a huge flaw in bitaddress.org coding?

i mean technically i would expect the code not to leave any sort of trade on my RAM, as OP asks, java
6905  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: confused regarding Bitcoin payments on: September 08, 2015, 02:16:58 PM
yes I am using the blockchain.info on my computer but I have been told to try the wallet at
https://greenaddress.it/ which many have said have safer privacy and security mandates.
Blockchain.info in theory should be quite secure. They offer pretty good security features, allowing you and only you to be able to access the private key thus no one else can spend it. However, they have incredibly bad reliability due to their recent downtimes and several security vulnerabilities which could have been avoided. Greenaddress.it is quite a good choice but the android app is slightly buggy for me. I would recommend either Multibit or electrum for the best ease of use as you can easily forget your mnemorics on greenaddress.it.

Thanks ranochigo.I am quite apprehensive on hearing about their security vulnerabilities. Hopefully such vulnerabilities have since been patched and fixed.Do you recommend Multibit as a viable hot wallet?
I used to use multibit a lot but I don't like anymore. It has had some concerning issues in the past that caused people to lose money and the developers didn't seem so interested in getting to the bottom of it, it really damaged my trust in them. It's free wallet software written mostly by volunteers, they don't have the resources to properly deal with serious issues like that.

I would highly recommend electrum however, it's an absolutely great piece of software which I've had very few issues with ever. It's a very quick, lightweight, simple and secure bitcoin wallet which can be used for almost any situation. The developers have a clear vision for what they want to make and have simplified things that used to be very difficult for new users to do.

i confirm that, i have been using Electrum for over a year now. never had any problem with it. there is always servers that you can connect to and it is fast and secure.
on top of that the developers are active on the project and you can find ThomasV (not sure about the spelling) on the Electrum section of forum helping and checking out users problems.

 Good Day citizens of Bitcointalk!

My name is Magnus Julius Crassus ,

I am here mainly to help people get the tiny coins they need , I will personally try to help as much as I can ( with the little funds I have) and distribute it to as many people as I can.

First stop will be getting some small amount of funds ( around 10-20 $) and distribute here with 10 cents or 5 cents to each person. By the reaction of the public it will move on and evolve as per publics requests to changes of the idea.

if you want to do a giveaway, you should make a topic in games and rounds section.

and honestly i think it is better to do your giveaway on reddit and give only to new people who don't already know about bitcoin in order to "spread the word"
6907  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do you believe with bitcoin on: September 08, 2015, 02:09:56 PM
do you believe with bitcoin in the future can replace fiat as a number one currency?

it is hard to tell. bitcoin is still in its early stages and is considered practically a toddler.
so bitcoin needs more time to grow and fixed different problems that it is facing then it might be side by side of fiat but never replace it .

Yep bitcoin was am embryo the last years, but it already been born and now its a toddler.

Funny that the news sites already consider it dead when it was still on embryo phase.

Now its a weak toddler, but very well nourished by the community, hopefully grows to be a strong muscular entity Smiley

The news sees it dead/dying because they think the government is going to kill it off (which they could do if they wanted). At this point it's hard to tell what's going to happen for sure, but the government seems to be moving more and more towards accepting it, which is great.

Yes, but its like a hydra, if you cut 1 head off, 2 respawn in its place.

But bitcoin wiki also says that for bitcoin to exist there needs to be atleast 1 free country left on the planet.

And since all countries start to fall into tyrrany, I have no clue, but if bitcoin beats the system faster, than the system beats bitcoin, then we can have a bright future.

If people were being arrested for using BTC and all banks became hostile, there would only be a small group that uses it. When you can't transfer money in/out of a system and can't even talk about it without getting in trouble, the majority won't take the risks. This whole "hydra" thing is asinine -- Bitcoin is absolutely not bulletproof.

this is the most extreme of situations that will never happen. so far a couple of countries banned trading bitcoin and there is still no law against having it.
and the news that want to show bitcoin as dead are just a portion of the news, the rest is not that bad.

90 % scamm

What you were doing previous 17 years?

Working, schooling, being a parent, raising family. How is it a scam when we ask for NO money? You are so quick to scream scam and don't even know what the site is all about.

well, it is not easy to trust anybody these days. specially on the internet, someone with a brand new account with no prior history on the forum. on top of that your domain is registered yesterday according to joksim299

does anybody know how you can earn different kinds of giftcards? i have heard that there are websites that reward you with different giftcards in return for your work

There are many sites but some are also in mobile apps, but in the past i had used earnhoney, and the reward was in Amazon Gift Card, even though these are legit, you still cant sell at 95-100%

thanks, i don't want to sell these gift cards. i wanted to use them. as long as they are legit i am going to give it a try to see if it is worth the time spent on earning them.
6912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's add up the KNOWN lost bitcoins on: September 07, 2015, 12:46:49 PM
i personally would keep 1000 satoshi in a couple of different wallets

Just FYI...

Quote
A Satoshi is the smallest fraction of a Bitcoin that can currently be sent: 0.00000001 BTC, that is, a hundredth of a millionth BTC. In the future, however, the protocol may be updated to allow further subdivisions, should they be needed.

yeah, thanks. i know that very well. Cool
i was being (trying to be) sarcastic, it turns out that it is hard to be sarcastic in text form Cheesy
6913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much transactions fees? on: September 07, 2015, 12:43:49 PM
Hi folks,

I would like to know what is a usual fee to attach to a transaction? Is there any webpage where I can check the current recommended fee?

Thank you very much in advance!

all the bitcoin wallets that i have seen so far will suggest the appropriate amount of fees for your transaction. just remember that fee is calculated according to the size of your transaction and a couple of other factors that would set the priority of your transaction. check wiki page for detailed information.
6914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is cheapest to buy with bitcoin? on: September 07, 2015, 12:34:40 PM
Steam games, I guess? Oh and only if someone could sell steam wallet codes for bitcoins, that would be great. I've been searching on the web and on the Digital Goods section but so far I've found none.

i have been looking for a good deal for ages now. there are a few places that you can find which sell steam wallet codes but i could not find any place that actually offers a good deal for buying with bitcoin.

i just hope that steam starts accepting bitcoin themselves directly.
6915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's add up the KNOWN lost bitcoins on: September 07, 2015, 11:27:05 AM
Lost Access to At Least 15,000 BTC

134634.39864659+15000=149634.39864659

how can anybody lose 15,000 BTC? i am sorry but i can not believe that anybody exists in the world that "loses access to" 15KBTC * 200 $ = ~3 mil USD
i personally would keep 1000 satoshi in a couple of different wallets that i store their private keys in different places.... but 3 million ....
6916  Economy / Speculation / Re: $220-240 range.. on: September 07, 2015, 11:16:11 AM
Holds VERY strongly here.. very strongly..

Perhaps time to buy some coins eh..

yeah, now it is time to hold strongly. specially because now we have put the low price behind us and bitcoin price took the big hit to the face and survived after that.
6917  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: QoinPro pls read on: September 07, 2015, 11:13:49 AM
It's one of those sites, where you can signup to say... Been there, done that, got NO T-shirt.  Huh This site has been out there for a looong time now... at first I thought it was a good idea to send noobies there to

acquire several coins from one site, but I soon realized that the amount of coins given out from this site is so insignificant that it's not worth the effort. You will be with them for years and you will still not be able to

withdraw a single Satoshi. {Due to high withdraw limit and low free coins} I think it was a good idea, but it was never fully implemented. It could also only be a data farm for marketing companies.  Huh

i liked qoinpro not because of it giving away extreemly low amounts of bitcoin and other altcoins but i liked it because it could be a nice online wallet that you could have wallets of multiple altcoins in one place. but sadly it turn out to be just a scam and waste of time.
6918  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: September 07, 2015, 11:11:18 AM
There are some mini jobs at bitcoinget.com that you can do for bitcoins. Won't get rich off of them, but beats faucets and gambling.

Thanks a bunch! I signed up, but so far every 'job' I've clicked on there is no work. That's weird...
signature campaign is better than you click some adsense  Wink

i agree. you can earn much more bitcoin through participating in a good signature campaign than you can earn from any of these advertising websites.

the lowest are faucets then after that is PTC and higher payment but still low is from crowdflower sort of works.

6920  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have 0.02 btc , want to invest on: August 26, 2015, 12:21:55 PM
with 0.02 BTC, I will invest it on ponzi or I just gamble it Grin Grin Grin
Ponzi isn't a good investments to choose, as it has high risk of loss and scamming. Also gambling doesn't count as a investment. Better to hold it or earn much more to start investing.

this is true but 0.02BTC is around 4-5 USD which there is place to invest that small amount and gain good a profit from it so even if you lose you lose the minimum amount Cheesy
