Jason Boyko sank underground, and even giving a huge reward for finding him didn't help:

To be honest, no one really bothered to really find him, or sue him after his identity became known - and the reason is that it all happened at a time when Bitcoin was only worth a few hundred dollars. I'm sure any qualified investigator would easily track him down, unless he really tried and disappeared somewhere in the wild.

There is information about him even before he became a bad boy on the Internet, and all those who lost hundreds or thousands of BTC should go to Canada (Saskatoon) which is the right place to start the search.

6922  Economy / Economics / Re: Reality Check on Crypto on: October 17, 2021, 01:56:16 PM
It doesn't surprise me at all what the inventor of one altcoin thinks about Bitcoin, because he, like all other inventors, intended to do something that would be better than Bitcoin, and so far everyone has been unsuccessful. Therefore, every statement of the VB should be viewed in that context, because everything else has no logic.

Three years ago, there was a story that he would do something like Satoshi and disappear, thus decentralizing his project - but we all know that these are just stories for small children.

The most popular discussion topic is Buterin’s vision for “Ethereum 2.0,” a future iteration meant to be capable of operating efficiently at a much larger scale—and appeal to a much broader user base—than it can today. But in a conversation with MIT Technology Review on the sidelines of Devcon, Buterin said it’s time for him to start fading into the background as “a necessary part of the growth of the community.”

There was probably a flyer hanging on a community notice board in some village square somewhere in Asia or S. America, proclaiming the riches than can be gotten by simply posting on the internet.  That's always been my theory.

While it may be true that most spammers and bounty hunters come from the areas of the world you mentioned, it just means that people in those parts of the world live very hard and look for some sort of lifeline on the internet. This does not mean that other parts of the world do not perceive this forum as a place where magic money is shared for posting, but that educated and intelligent people do it in a much more cunning way than some others.

I don't really blame these people, they just take advantage of what the forum has to offer. If the forum were set up towards them in a way “Newbie & Jr.Members can’t participate in bounty/signature campaigns,” then we most likely wouldn’t be discussing things like this.

How does OP know about ranks but nothing else?

Each member has his own rank, and each new member can notice it very easily - he is a brand new member, and if he sees the other ranks, it is logical to ask the question he asked. Of course, it would have been much better if he had found the answer to that question himself.

There are other coins I sold too early for example ... at 2$ and it's now 9$, though I need the money at the time and my mistakes is I sold all instead of leaving some parts behind

Everyone needs money at some point, and if that’s why you have to sell something, then there’s no point in regretting it later. I consider Bitcoin primarily as a currency I use in my daily life, but that doesn’t stop me from still being a long-term holder because I believe Bitcoin is also a very good store of value and a great hedge against inflation.

During my first years in the crypto world, I collected various altcoins mostly through faucets, and some are worth quite a bit today, while others are worth almost nothing. I agree that with altcoins it is not a good strategy to hold for long-term, but somewhere in 2014 or 2015 the price of 1000 Dogecoins was only $0.14, today 1 D is worth more than $ 0.20, imagine that Roll Eyes

Plagiarized post:

If Tesla (EM) did not sell all that BTC, then it would be more accurate to say that it is an unrealized profit - and EM has stated that it has no intention of selling that BTC, although this may change at any time. In addition, Tesla appears to have bought a total of 46 000 BTC

If Tesla (EM) did not sell all that BTC, then it would be more accurate to say that it is an unrealized profit - and EM has stated that it has no intention of selling that BTC, although this may change at any time. In addition, Tesla appears to have bought a total of 46 000 BTC at an average price of $32 610, but sold 10%, so the total amount of BTC is now 41 400  currently worth 2.375 billion.

Luckily, I remember what I wrote a few days ago, so I easily noticed plagiarism - although the plagiarist obviously chooses the posts that got the most merits in the hunt for merits - wrong post this time.
6926  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Comparative Features On Top Phone Antivirus For Crypto Wallets Protection on: October 17, 2021, 10:40:19 AM
The emails are sent to thousands or millions of users, specifically targeting Norton users, Having a single email account isn't a bad idea, but there are still crooks selling email accounts, and these people are working directly with someone who has access to Google's mail database; nowadays, everything is tradeable. The best safeguard is to recognize which emails are real and which are not.

The weakest link in the whole chain is of course always a man, whether it is a malicious employee or a bad programmer who left room for a hacker to break into the system. Given the size of Google and the number of employees, it's hard to believe that everyone is honest - so I don't trust their services too much (although I use them), but for extremely sensitive things I recommend an email from Proton which is free and encrypted, based in Switzerland.

However, the worst option is to use only one e-mail account for all services, because if someone happens to hack it - it becomes a real nightmare, the hacker takes over everything related to that account.
6927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Doctor Doom Nouriel Roubini now NOT anti-Bitcoin on: October 17, 2021, 10:29:39 AM
I am curious what makes him change his mind to believe in bitcoin now.

It’s hard to say whether he changed his mind, or just someone took his statement out of context - but I think more and more of those experts who were previously negative or extremely negative about Bitcoin just don’t want to stay in the group of those who will remain in the minority. If you have been expressing your opinion about something for years, and the facts constantly refute you in what you say - then either you are not intelligent enough to understand, or someone is paying you not to deviate from your views.

Some just need more time to believe, and time has shown that Bitcoin is no Ponzi scheme and a passing trick intended to enrich an individual or a group. Of course, there are those who will continue to say that the whole thing will collapse and that Bitcoin has no value, but maybe in 10 years, they will admit that they were wrong.

After a little delay, I received a newly created account, and everything is as stated. I’m sorry for the misunderstanding caused by the delay, and everything would have been avoided that the first post or title has been edited. I will write a final review after the first 30 days of the subscription expire.
6929  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Order of Seed Phrase on: October 16, 2021, 12:27:43 PM
Is the order of the 12 words in the seed phrase important?

If you have ever created such a crypto wallet, then you must have noticed that any serious wallet will warn the user that it is extremely important that they write their words in the correct order as they are shown.  Many for some reason mix up these words (for safety's sake), but then forget the right order afterward - fortunately, there is a way already mentioned that can correct this.

What is much more important is that you do not lose part of your seed, so even then there is a possibility that you can find them out by brute force method - but if I remember correctly I think that more than 4 lost words (or maybe 5) are an almost impossible mission.
6930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Doctor Doom Nouriel Roubini now NOT anti-Bitcoin on: October 16, 2021, 12:15:52 PM
So he's not trustworthy, and he changes his words from time to time to catch the hype, IMO.

I thought everyone had heard of Dr.Doom, because they call him like that since he almost always predicts that something bad will happen - and when he does, they say he's a very smart and intelligent man who understands how the world works better than others. I had a chance to watch a few of his interviews (albeit unrelated to Bitcoin), and I have to admit I wasn’t left under any particular impression.

What I have noticed is that he lives very luxuriously at the expense of what he says, which means that he sells his visions of the doomsday of the economy very lucratively, and bad news seems to sell much better than good news.

If it took a man 10+ years to realize that Bitcoin has value, then he is a really great expert.
6931  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Comparative Features On Top Phone Antivirus For Crypto Wallets Protection on: October 16, 2021, 12:00:54 PM
It has nothing to do with the hacking of the Norton database, and I never mentioned anything about the database being hacked; all I did was warn Norton users to be cautious, especially those whose emails were not adequately filtered. Scammers send these emails with a phishing link.

But you are implying that it is Norton users who are the target of these emails, although there is no directly proven link to confirm this. There are millions of e-mails hacked from various databases, and the only question is who uses them and for what purpose. I use a unique email for my Norton, and I'm sure I'll only get a phishing link to it if someone really hacks into their database - if everyone took such precautions, phishing would almost disappear.
6932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla make 1 billion profits from it Bitcoin holding on: October 16, 2021, 11:00:51 AM
~snip~

I agree, most people are prone to panic when they see that their investment is losing value, and just then you need to be mentally strong and realize that you won’t lose anything if you don’t really sell at that point. Although following examples from the past, those who bought BTC in late 2017 and decided not to sell had to wait several years to recoup their investment or make a profit - which is a rather difficult task, especially for those who invest the money they need in everyday life.
6933  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [NETFLIX] ULTRA-PREMIUM Subscriptions - PERSONAL FULL WARRANTY cheap prices! on: October 16, 2021, 10:52:21 AM
we have a discord group where we do post updates,
please check our discord.

Why would I spend my time on Discord or Instagram if we have this forum and if you have my email used to place an order? I give you a maximum of 24 hours to deliver what I paid or to return the payment (please contact me for BTC address) or I will consider that you scam me.
6934  Other / Meta / Re: India Mining Board Receiving Massive Spam Attack on: October 15, 2021, 02:21:13 PM
As far as I can see, the Indian local board does not have its moderator, and only one spam thread already has over 500 views - which means that spammers have focused on that board for the reason that their posts there will be the longest visible. I don't know how to defend the forum effectively from this type of attack, spammers seem to have found a weak point, and now they are massively exploiting it.
6935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla make 1 billion profits from it Bitcoin holding on: October 15, 2021, 01:39:18 PM
As we know Tesla didn't actually get any profits yet, because we can't be a hundred percent sure if Tesla sold the bitcoins or not...

Quote
In mid-March, it sold 10% of its holdings, around 4,100 coins, at an average price of almost $60,000, booking a profit of $128 million (reduced to $101 million by an "impairment" charge).

Information that can be read in post number 2 of this topic, which is proof that you haven’t read anything more than the title and maybe the first post. We are discussing the facts, speculation on this topic is really unnecessary.
6936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Putin believes Bitcoin has value on: October 15, 2021, 01:05:03 PM
People, you need to start thinking with your head, because making a sensation out of one innocent statement really doesn’t make sense. There are two groups of people who claim that Bitcoin has no value - the first are those who really have a low IQ and do not understand anything more than the relationship "bank -> plastic card - > ATM - > PIN -> money" - and those others who are so deeply involved in the existing financial system that they will always be negative about Bitcoin no matter how well they understand it.

Besides, what an obsession it is with a man who poisons his political opponents with radioactive substances or literally kills them under the window of his office. His opinion is literally worthless to me.
6937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuela Airport accepting Bitcoin on: October 15, 2021, 12:22:49 PM
Some leaders are already turning over to Bitcoin and have positioned their country in such a way that they will benefit from the many possibilities that come with Bitcoin, a good example of such leaders is the president of Venezuela who is currently storing the nation's Treasury in Bitcoin.

Where is the source of that news? I personally haven't read anywhere that something like this happened in that country, and you should think a little about what you're writing - because you're posting inaccurate information.

Here's some good news for you -> Venezuela replaces national currency with bitcoin

Let's see how many experts will be hooked on this April joke.
6938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia took third place in the world in bitcoin mining on: October 15, 2021, 12:09:54 PM
Honestly, I was thinking about why Russia hadn't announced it yet. El Salvador announced bitcoin legality in their country, but Russia is still silent. Because we all know that Russia is the world's most advanced country in the cyber world and the technical world. And they have the world's strongest, most powerful and intelligent cyber experts. And this is proof that they can be the first to use any advanced technology in their country. But in this case, I am a little sad that Russia is in a third line to take the green light on bitcoin legality. Since they were the first, I wasn't surprised. Though Russia already had lots of crypto projects, And I am not wrong. The bip/minter blockchain network is a research-based crypto project. Where a large number of Russian crypto currencies are created. It's another wake-up call for those countries that still prohibit it.Now congratulations to all our Russian friends. Now you guys get full freedom to do what we want in our country too.

You totally mixed up everything that could be mixed up, this topic is about Russia being reportedly third in the world when it comes to Bitcoin mining - not about some kind of Bitcoin legality or anything to do with Bitcoin being declared a legal tender like this is the case in El Salvador.

Russia most advanced in what, hacking and amount of crypto scam? What kind of technologies and projects are you talking about?
6939  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [NETFLIX] ULTRA-PREMIUM Subscriptions - PERSONAL FULL WARRANTY cheap prices! on: October 15, 2021, 11:58:37 AM
Warning for everyone - I paid for my Netflix account 24 hours ago and haven't received anything yet! Although the amount is not significant, I hope @bitbollo was wrong when he suspected that OP was just another scammer in a row.

I agree with you, price is not a key factor to be guided when buying software, but free programs are usually free because they charge for their service in some other way, often by collecting user data and selling it to interested parties. Far from paid programs not doing that, but over the years I have gained confidence in some security solutions that have not let me down so far and give me a sense of security when I'm online.

In the context of a topic where the focus is on protecting smartphones that have crypto wallets on them or users use them for crypto trading, any investment in security makes sense - but it's up to everyone to decide whether they need such protection or not.
