Was so tired last night that I actually couldn't stay awake for any games, but I did wake up not long after the game ended, counted the score on livescores and saw 21. Impossible to not go and check the bet but it hadn't settled by then.

But yes, last night's bet had a max of 4.99 -- I always click max bet. I thought for a while about it, wondering if Brest was going to be so bad we'd get a bust on goals. Turns out we did need the 6 goals. What an awesome match, and yeah icopress, PSG did it for us twice now. I hate rooting for them but, when you get a di Maria goal in injury time like this, how do you not cheer for 'em, right?

I absolutely agree with you
but you must also consider the greatness of the nation

in any case in the past he gave us glorious players like VanBasten, much loved in Italy and also very good

he was Dutch wasn't he?

Aye, perhaps. But Malaysia in the 1970s reigned supreme in Asia, and had great footballers with incredible minds. Can't always live in the past, and they've never recovered from their highs of 50 years ago.

Salah maybe also now reminds people of what Egypt can be capable of producing but it doesn't prove Egypt's a great footballing nation. Many examples to cherry pick of course, but I said what I said about Eredivisie on current form=)

Anyone taking the 15/1 special of two nights ago on home teams in UCL and Europa would have been laughing to the bank. Made some really cool gains myself with different selections, but 3 of the 4 legs also from that special. Hope you guys caught that!

The 30/1 BTTS on Championship busted though, with 3/10 teams failing to score...

PSG and Leipzig featuring heavily today in the specials (BTTS at 7/1), but because I've got Stuttgart to win away at Leipzig, I'm avoiding both -- odds have been notching down every hour for Red Bull though, so you might want to take the PSG/Leipzig/Real Betis 32/10 special active right now.

Odds too small for me though =p I might want to start counting wins/losses from the next 10/1  ++ odd special I take!
6926  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-08-15 Nasdaq - Profiting Big From Bitcoin DCA on: August 20, 2021, 10:50:43 AM
I guess a question would be:  If you have the cash now, is it smarter to do it all at once or DCA over a period of time?   Certainly if you don't have the fiat now, DCA is smart.  If you do have it now and the alternative is to invest it over 4 years (roughly the time period in the article), I think the better advice is to just buy it all now or as there are dips and then don't trade it.

As for $1 million, if enough people are buying then it could easily happen.  1 to 3 more orders of magnitude is certainly possible until there is some sort of fiat equilibrium reached.

This actually made me think now that there are several kinds of DCA:
1. Buying a fixed fiat amount at regular intervals, which I suppose is the true DCA strategy of enforced savings, since it averages out the dollar buys.
2. Buying a variable fiat amount at fixed intervals -- e.g. Whatever is left aside every X weeks is put into buying BTC. This is my DCA, albeit, in reverse: I earn in crypto (BTC mainly), and sell what I need to pay bills and expenses a month ahead, and whatever's left, I send to my wallet.
3. Buying at a variable interval at a fiat threshold amount, which is probably what a lot of people do in smaller economies. That is, whenever they're able to save $100, then they buy Bitcoin. This I say because it's not always possible for everyone in all economies to save $50 or $100 in a month or two. And I know already some people saving up like this to buy BTC regardless of price, but whenever they have $100. The threshold isn't really arbitrary either, but you pay dearly in commissions and fees when buying below certain limits.

I get that PSV is a good team, they are not a bad team at all, and I like to watch them too, but Benfica didn't really shock the pundits and all when they won, they were always a great team and they won, it was that simple, so why would it be that weird for them to actually end up with a win again? I mean think about it, they won once, how could it be 3.70 for them to end up winning once again? That doesn't make sense.

I always find the Dutch teams a little soft, wobbly when it matters, you know? Good football for sure, and we don't need to be reminded of how exciting they can be as a national team but even Ajax, the silkiest team from Eredivisie, looks suspect every time they come up against other European opposition.

Benfica deserved the win, and I'm also backing them to not lose the next leg. 3.7 is just a reflection of the away tie, how strong PSV are at home, and conversely, how defensively Benfica are expected to play away + all those Dutch bets on the home team;)

Quito, poor Quito. Lost 4-2 as the bookies expected, and they probably got a slightly unfair result but then a draw also wasn't going to be enough for us.

Shame on me also for missing out on Paco's 6/1 upset over an understrength Spurs -- surprised that Nuno took such a risk.

Let us return to a simple ML in Bundesliga:

After last week's break, I'm ready to throw the dice again. Not sure if I mentioned before but going to run out a small bankroll of martingaling on UFC underdogs. I'm able to last a 5-match losing streak, and if I bust, well, it would have been fun.

So in that spirit, have taken Gastelum on a straight ML bet. Just over 2/1 so am a bit disappointed he's not rated less ha ha.
6932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for Afghanistan and Taiwan on: August 19, 2021, 02:48:28 PM
The Hong Kong protests already saw quite impressive use case demonstrations for Bitcoin. Even if you're not looking or able to flee -- and many Afghans are also choosing to stay and resist -- Bitcoin can help overcome oppressive police states, as the protestors in HK showed when they had to use Bitcoin to buy travel tickets and send assistance to circumvent China's monitoring of bank accounts to put location and linkage tracing on HK residents.

It's a great store (and transport) of value, yes. But it's also a really useful anti-censorship transmission of money.

6934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 19, 2021, 11:42:20 AM
@Trofo damn I've got Arsenal down against Chelsea. It's a dumb bet, seeing as how scary their attack looks and how horribly bad Arsenal have been. But hey, I backed Chelsea twice at the same odds last season against City (both cup games) -- and they were on form in an equally lousy position.

Also, I want to say that your performance as Premier League predictor is amazing!

I mentioned last season I was in top 10 percentile in other pools (you can join a lot with the same picks) but finished poorly in this pool. I saw it as evidence that the participants here are of really high quality. Watch me falter in the next 37 match days ha ha ha.

I had a bad start in the previous season but ended up in the top-10 by the end of it, so it's totally fine to have a bad start. I had a terrible start during the first round this year as well, and I'm currently at #42. But I'm sure it's just bad luck, especially with having 3 close predictions but zero exact ones. I also shouldn't have started the season with trying to predict draws and putting 3 of them in my picks. There's plenty of time for mistakes given how long the EPL season is, though, and good luck to us all with the upcoming rounds!

Exactly. Yellow caps score tend to be 12-18 points if I remember the stats from last season, one really good round will catch you up many, many places. Equally, one bad round can drop you many positions. I know, I've been there;)
6935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +68437 units on: August 19, 2021, 07:24:11 AM
Well, well, well, Rooney bagged us the goods, held on for the win which will boost their hopes to avoid another battle against relegation. Young Boys proved to be superior throughout, even after trailing 0-1, getting a player sent off, and then conceding a penalty... they managed to scramble everything together and lead 3-1, before things got nervy but it all ended up 3-2.

Let's do another 2-legger with an upset and a fav. LDU Quito were not favoured in the 1st leg of Copa Sudamerica and still dominated the match against Brazilian outfit Paranaense. They defend a solitary goal on the away leg but I love their 6/1 odds. We'll pair that up with Rapid Wien in Europa play offs, as they are strong winners when playing at home.

100 units at Sportsbet on Quito and Rapid Wien to WIN @11.05 Other odds: 10.70
Units advantage: 35

Running advantage after 10 bets: +474 (+35)
All-time cumulative: +68,852
Running units after 9 bets (3W|6L): +2,877 (+599)

So I get to be the bastard bragging about Matchday 1 yellow cap. Steve/Sportsbet credited the freebet quickly and I sat on it for a while, until yesterday, when I made a really early acca:

So I've won back my fee and then some. No pressure for the rest of the season now =D

@Betwrong: Glad you're enjoying Superbru! I mentioned earlier but to those new, Superbru also awards cash prizes for guessing 9/10 and 10/10 (shared if more than 1 person gets it) plus other merch for 7 and 8 exact scores... so that's also worth playing for and costs nothing! 3:0 was my favourite prediction for Liverpool 2 and 3 seasons ago actually;) Norwich has a way to relent to the Reds on opening day.

@hilarious, Welsh yeah very cool to get 50+ should definitely have that consolation prize to play for, it's something that kept my hopes up. Mbappe in Prem League would be one of the best things to happen as a neutral. I think he would prosper too, but also can't see him signing for Liverpool unless he somehow puts money aside and doesn't mind being understudy to Salah. He would need months of conditioning too -- Fabinho was a midfielder and took a long time just to get to Liverpool's intensity. Not sure Mbappe has the body or mentality to track back and press, and if Klopp's assessment is that he doesn't, he'll never find his way into the team.

@LFC_Bitcoin: It's actually our 5th season! It all started with hilarious kicking off this thread (we were 6th and 7th on the BBC predictor according to OP haha) for the 2017/18 season. Then we moved to this thread, crypto sponsored its first team in EPL in the 18/19 season, then Sportsbet got in on the action the following season, and then sponsored this pool since the last. Time flies, I was still young and the Klopp revolution had only just begun when this pool was forming up. It's a nice piece of work OP started.

yeah, on link is an epic one from Ravn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLJnd1kJRss in 98/99, when they won over Bayern at home, scoring in '87 and '89 to win 2:1 in the end, Babbel scored for Bavarians

this could their revival, but I doubt that Salzburg will allow that
[/quote]
Thanks for that link, I really enjoy these classic moments, especially from the late 90s when I was just getting to know European football (or rather, at first only English football). My first World Cup was in 98 and then EURO after that, so Zidane and Ronaldo (teethy one) were the best memories before I finally was able to watch club football in 2001 onwards.

Heroes probably never dim in the memories of fans, but you never know with Salzburg, too good to lose and watched first half bits and pieces, they need only keep that pace and they should win comfortably. Should give value odds away too!

6939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: I started a porn site that pays you in Bitcoin. on: August 18, 2021, 12:36:53 PM
Lol.  Some folks here are tribal about bitcoin as well, though bitcointalk might be more tolerant than Reddit.  I can't stand Reddit and don't visit it often, so I can't say for sure.

You'll probably get a lot of interest if you're paying out in crypto--there are people on this forum who'll do pretty much anything for a few satoshis (or tiny amounts of whatever coin is available), and since most of them are probably young males my guess is that you're recruiting in the right place.

I can't stand porn myself, but good luck with your project.  You just have to have enough income to pay all of the professional jerk-offs, and be prepared for a deluge of interested members if they happen to come across this thread.  Bitcoin and porn kind of suit each other because of the pseudo-anonymity aspect.

Unfortunately, because of work, I have to spend some minutes of my life on Twitter and Reddit. At least here, the moderation and communities aren't snorting coke all the time and you don't get the shillers if you don't visit altsections (all due respect of course).

But OP yeah, you're better off allowing people to have a choice of crypto. I have to say, BTC fees really, really aren't so expensive these days EVEN without L2. And you have to allow Bitcoin, it's what most of us on the forum have and use. Not personally against BCH myself, but I wouldn't even know where to liquidate it as the platforms I use are for BTC.

Heck I even have a Dogecoin wallet.

I like the general idear of what you're doing... However, i did try to register, opened about 4 or 5 video's on my cellphone, watched 4 or 5 full adds before the videos and at least a dozen banners, let the videos play for a while... And didn't earn a single satoshi...
I didn't really expect to see more payout than, let's say, a BCH faucet, but 0 sats seems like lowballing  Grin

I also agree that LTC or ETH would be better alternatives than BCH... BCH isn't well liked by a lot of people in this community.

Same. On a computer, adblock disabled as requested by the site. Clicked on a few ads in the videos. Surfed a few pages. Not a single satoshi (cashtoshi?)

6940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: August 18, 2021, 12:14:18 PM
It's not at all about nobility ... just luck of two is better than luck of one.  Grin Therefore, I will be happy to share my winnings if this happens, besides, I looked at the statistics, and the results of the first and second rounds are quite encouraging, so let's hope for the best. By the way, no matter how it was, we still have an additional safety bet (a goal in the first half in each of today's 7 games), the coefficient is certainly not so huge, but still ...

I get you of course, friend. I bet superstitiously myself, even knowing that there is nothing that can be influenced to aid my luck. Tell you what, then, in honour of this, the next 100+ odd special I hit, 10% goes to you if I win. Everybody wins =D

Shame the bets yesterday didn't turn out, I'm going to watch as religiously as possible on Club Talk. Already missed another 15/1 I'd have taken on Europe action. If only we didn't have this life thing getting in the way, huh Trofo?
