6962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 14, 2019, 05:15:12 AM
I agree with what you say about Tsitsipas and that is I asked about him playing on grass. He does have the right body to play on grass but I guess he just needs to start playing more grass tournaments. Wimbledon will be an interesting tournament this year to see if any of the young talent can reach the finals and maybe even challenge the top players at winning it all. I'll see how the young talent play in the lead up tournaments before placing my bets. I agree with Kyrgios but he is a very good grass court player, that is why I mentioned him.

Kyrgios is special kind of player. When he gets in the grove and everything is going as he thinks it should, he is easily top 5. The problem is his game plan when result isn't in his favor. I watched him many times when he played 2nd serve as first. It is normal for him to strike 3 aces and make 2 double faults in the same game and ends the match with more than 30 aces and often more than 10 double faults. It is very rarely that you see a player which has too much belief in his shots. And that is if we forget all the times he just doesn't feel like playing and starts arguing with half the audience and looses easily against players outside top 100.

Correct, when he is on the zone, Nick is very hard to stop. He really has a lot of potential to be one of the best, but most of the time when the shots is not falling he has someone to play, himself, the umpire the audience and obviously his bad attitude comes into place. If he could just muster that mentality to focus about the game and not the people around him then easily top 5 for me.
6963  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Mass Adoption Roadshow events start in Makati on: June 13, 2019, 03:17:08 PM
Never heard of this event if i had i would have attended. Well this is a good event that promotes block chain industry in the Philippines and educate people how they can also take advantage of it. Mass adoption has a long way to go, hoping many more block chain events commenced not only in the Philippines but all over the world.

Weird though, if you are really interested on how crypto or Blockchain is being adopted in the Philippines then why not go on their local board here: (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=219.0). I'm sure you haven't heard about the Binance meet-up (https://twitter.com/binance/status/1132594551271505921). If you are really that interested, you can frequent that board, it's very active and a lot of good info are being shared. It is just the beginning, The Philippines has a good IT sector and that makes it one of the best country in Asia to adopt Blockchain technology and expect lots of roadshows/meetups in the future.
6964  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When 💩 hits the fan... on: June 13, 2019, 03:09:42 PM
We heard this mantra before, "don't panic", but unless you experienced it before, you really don't know how it feels when all shits are going against you. So yeah, stop losses, having a entry and exit strategy is a good thing to mitigate. But you can't blame those who panic, and let them had a first hand experience on what it is like to wake up, see the on-going dumps and let your 'logic' dictates you want you needed to do on that instances. If you panic sells, and then the market instantly recovers, then good for you, at least you know better what to do next if such cases presents itself again.

But according to CCN,

Now, support from Google has apparently changed the plans for a total shutdown, thanks to further unanticipated behavior from algorithms, which are reportedly flagging articles under CCN’s old CryptoCoinsNews identity.

But this article though seems to be an attack on their competitor though, didn't read the article but how can coinidol criticized CCN about their business model? And what model does coinidol uses here? they are both in the business so I will assume that the only thing in their mind is to publish rehearse, spin off article, LOL. Maybe what Google see is that those articles are not unique at all that's why they are really affected by the new algorith by the big G.

6966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquiao Stands as Underdog vs Thurman — Sportsbooks on: June 13, 2019, 02:50:43 PM
Just as the expectation of others that Pacman is the underdog for this match.
So the basis of the odds just because Pacman has become older these days?

The basis is that Thurman is undefeated and young as compare to Manny, so the oddmakers put him as the favorite in this fight. But Manny's fans and himself knows that he can still pull the trigger, not like before though, be he still have the pops on his punch. We have seen it during the Lucas and Broner fight. The good thing though, the odds is very attractive, so I'm sure that many boxing afficionados will bet for Manny Pacquiao in this fight. And who knows, maybe the odds will change as the fight get's closer.
6967  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Hi, BitOffer, A Coming Soon Exchange waiting for you on: June 13, 2019, 01:59:56 PM
So, what is the real domain here? This one? (https://www.bitoffer.com/en/)? and this is the exchange? (https://www.bitoffer.com/en/exchange)? LOL, I thought is was digifinex because it looks very similar? So you bought just a generic script or something? I guess your really need to prove that we can trust your exchange, specially fake trade volumes.
6968  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Time for Binance DEX? on: June 13, 2019, 07:48:59 AM
We've been tracking the coins that made Binance IEO for a while. Recently, the projects listed in Binance DEX have started to gain value. When we look at one by one, all projects continue to gain value.

Are you sure this isn't just part of a broader trend in the altcoin market?

I'm wondering if the IEO design lends itself to a highly concentrated supply. Since they sell out more or less instantly (rather than being bought over days or weeks like ICOs) it's probable the entire supply is being bought at once by relatively small number of entities.

That may make these markets more difficult to pump.

I'm also interested on how the sale is conducted, it's seems they have this sort of lottery draw for Harmony sale.

Quote
May 28, 2019 08:00 (UTC): Binance Launchpad announced that there are 16,666 winning tickets, held by 12,977 total winners. That puts the percentage of winning tickets at 30.82%, among all 54,076 tickets claimed. Lottery winners will get 94,503.78 ONE tokens per winning ticket. The winners’ BNB balances will be deducted based on their number of winning tickets within 24 hours. If you won the lottery, please ensure that you have sufficient BNB in your account.

https://www.binance.com/en/blog/340019725819650048/Binance-Launchpad-Harmony-Sale-Results

I think this is done to curb those sort of 'insider trading'. But yeah, it looks like one good strategy to at least stop the pump-and-dump scheme of some whales who wanted to manipulate this kind of sales.
6969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Bank in Liechtenstein Grew It’s Traffic by 900%, by Selling Cryptocurrencies on: June 13, 2019, 07:05:37 AM
Funny thing though is the headline, 900% traffic? does it equate to more profits for the bank themselves?  Grin. Of course we love to hear banking system integrating crypto for their clients so that we can enjoy the best of both worlds. But this is just one small banks, and it doesn't mean that we can removed that stigma that banks are anti-crypto. I don't know what's Liechtenstein relationship to EU, but they need to watch their backs, just saying. But what can we say? Kudos to Bank Frick for spearheading this one and I'm sure their clients are very very happy with this bold move.
6970  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why are people rushing to buy the IEO at Binance? on: June 13, 2019, 06:54:54 AM
Maybe is here one of reason. There is comparation between the initial price and after offering launched.
(this is two days old)

obvious that their authority is important to investors.

Harmony is now trading around 8-9x compared to its IEO price and that is really impressive. So it's pretty obvious that Binance name bring a lot of weight on their IEO' because so far we haven't seen anything that they launched fluke in the beginning. People are buying the hype, Binance and smart investors making tons of money, win-win situation. And now more people are waiting what could be the next "it" technology being release by Binance and then the cycle repeats, so watch out for Adversity and don't be surprised if the price goes on another dramatic spike after the release.
6971  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: CipherTrace CEO serves as Bitcoin Expert Witness in $1.4M Darkweb Case on: June 13, 2019, 06:43:55 AM

You are right, we don't really know these numbers but if companies are releasing reports every quarter about numbers we might have a better understanding. Just like any sort of set of data we are able to analyze it overtime and watch for any major change that looks suspicious. I don't really know what their technology looks like on the backend but I would assume you are able to see the dust but what is more important and alarming are the movements of money that affect people.

But in this case though, it looks like it was just a individual, not a company so I don't think that anyone will oblige in reporting how you obtain your bitcoins. What if the individual users mixing services? Will CipherTrace really dig on that individual's history? And for the sake of argument, I'm also not agreeing on companies submitting any reports whatsoever, that's why we are decentralized and with ho higher authority to tell us what to do. Everything can be seen in blockchain, and then we have OTC trading as well. So it's really difficult to trace and follow every footprints here.
6972  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: EU Warns Malta of the Dangers of Ignoring Money Laundering on: June 13, 2019, 06:34:17 AM
Wish they could say the same thing for Swiss and Cayman Islands bank  accounts which have been used by big time criminals as part of their money laundering process. If they want money laundering to stop they should also step up their game for this banks in order for this criminal activity to stop. Just by putting their attention all in crypto first won't solve the problem, I just don't think that its efficient for them to focus on a small industry like ours at first.

They won't because they are still slaves of the fiat systems for many many years. And since they are threaten by crypto, they have to step up and not let loose of this industry as Malta has been the safe haven for exchanges like Binance. They are really putting a lot of attention on crypto for the last three years, specially when it boomed in 2017 so they have to put at end to this. So obviously, Malta is a target now and I'm sure their will be other countries that they can bully and enforce everything they want to have total control again.
6973  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Time for Binance DEX? on: June 12, 2019, 09:57:59 PM
Obviously, they have formed a strategic partnership with Binance that's why the price is going up in recent days: (https://twitter.com/verasitytech).

What an incredible week for Verasity! We are the 2nd highest gainer, Thank you everyone. 🎉🏆

As I have said, Binance has this so called midas touch today. Every IEO they have listed had so far really goes off. And the thing is, there's no really secret behind it. It's just the name that really carry this projects, just look at how their native token, BNB is doing. I think the price will continue to rise until such time that investors book their profits and then move to the next Binance IEO's.
6974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinshares research: 74% of Bitcoin mining is powered by renewable energy on: June 12, 2019, 08:51:59 PM
So who exactly is telling lies now, sometime back we were told crypto mining is something that wastes a lot of energy and pollutes the environment and today coinshares comes with news of bitcoin mining being powered by renewable energy Huh To what extent is this energy renewable...

I don't know if you have been here during the peak of 2017, but during that time it was one of their attack points about bitcoin, that mining uses so much power that it takes this xx.xx TWh annually to operate it. Even saying that the annual consumption can even power up small countries, which is absurd. And then they say that Bitcoin mining leaves environmental footprints and that it should switch to 'green' mining.

And how did the come up with these numbers(74%)...was this data based on a questionnaire, was this an actual check of mining farms or this was confined to some specific area which had renewable energy sources.

Looks like they did a lot of investigations, and then cited some sources in the report. And that's how they come up with this numbers.
6975  Economy / Economics / Re: How Will FB Coin/JPM Coin Impact the Cryptocurrency Ecosystem? on: June 12, 2019, 08:36:57 PM
If we are talking about centralized coins like GlobalCoin then it has no impact whatsoever in the market. How can it compete when those can be categorized as tokens, if there is an industry that they disrupt then it should be the banking system and the fiat. So let's stop the comparison right now because it's like apple and oranges, no need to worry guys because there will be negative effect and the net goal is just simply to make more money by Mark Z here.
6976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 12, 2019, 08:22:12 PM
Ok here a thing with Stefanos, I think he mostly concentrated of clay court tournaments, but his game is more suited for grass. So for me he needed to shift this game and focus more on grass court tournaments as I believed he can win and can dominate it in the next two years. I haven't check the odds but definitely will put some bets on him. Love to see him against Federer again.

I just checked Tsitipas history on grass and it looks very poor. The history quoted is from tennisexplorer page. It seems to me he looses the match on the grass as soon as he faces a solid grass player. I will skip betting on him at least in the beginning and give myself some time to judge if improved his grass game. I am not so sure that his game is suited for grass. Grass is all about the balls staying close to the surface (taking the time from your opponent) and Tsitipas often uses top spin ground strokes which rebound over the opponent shoulder thus making it harder to hit.

12.06.         Tsitsipas S. - Smith J.    1R    3-6, 6-3, 6-4    1.27    3.70

Interesting stats you have there, I will do the same and see how well he plays in the lead up tournaments and then maybe see how he goes in the first match at Wimbledon before placing a bet on him. The down side to this is that the odds could come in a little but I think its best to see him play first before betting. I bet on Thiem to win the French Open because I know he is a good player on clay and as I always look for value I like to bet on players that pay the higher odds. Clearly the best players on grass is Federer and Djokovic and Nadal can play well but he isn't as suited as these two players. Another one we can say that is good on grass and that is Kyrgios but its a huge risk betting on him because we don't know if he's mentality to win is switch on.

But for me though Tsitsipas should really concentrate on grass court tournaments. With his height and quickness, he will better fit for those kind of tournaments in my opinion. He has a big serve. Nick Kyrgios? Nah, he is really unstable at this point, not putting any money on him. So let's see what will be the odds for this year, I don't know if there will be some long shot that can win the tournament as the top 3 is still going strong.
6977  Economy / Economics / Re: Does it helpful when blockchain integrated to government system? on: June 11, 2019, 03:41:43 PM
Here is one used case, the government of Canada has launched a public blockchain on top of Ethereum. It's for the administration of government contracts and everyone can see it on their website. So there is transparency here because obviously you can see where the money goes and to what project and how much money is being raised.

6978  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bulls Facing Uphill Task on: June 11, 2019, 03:25:26 PM
It's because we are currently in a pattern wherein there's no clear path as to where the price should go. As compare to the last couple of months where all TA points to a bull run, which eventually did happen. So now, maybe the bullish trend has stop a bit and we're forming some bearish waving market, with pullbacks along the way. So yes, there is a weaknesses in the market, so just be prepared for some bearish signs just let how to play the market, just saying.
6979  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-11]Philippines’ Central Bank Will Continue to Closely Monitor Crypto, C on: June 11, 2019, 02:57:44 PM
LOL, isn't it too late for the Philippines to get this news though? I mean they have involved themselves in crypto for the longest time and why is it just now that the whole issue of terrorism/drugs comes into place? Coins.ph is very strict as far as their KYC/AML compliant already so I was surprised that BSP just release this statement in 2019. Although I can only surmise that drugs what one of the biggest problem of the Philippines right now, eventhough the government has step up it's "Oplan Tokhang", everyday lots of drug addicts are being busted, indicative that it's really hard to stop it. But kudos to the government though, at least they are very supportive of crypto and I do hope that they will continue to do so as oppose to their neighboring country India who make a U-turn.
6980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Retail Giant Target Is Quietly Working on a Blockchain for Supply Chains on: June 11, 2019, 02:46:51 PM
Great news for blockchain adoption, supply chain is waiting to be innovated. I would love to see their solution with private blockchain in deeper detail  Wink

How can you see it in detail when it is going to be private?  Grin. I think the point here is that companies with lots of data processing should move on blockchain. We all know that data in blockchain can't be altered, so that's one advantage. Although there is still a cost migrating their legacy systems to blockchain but I think it will out weight everything in the long run. I also think that business decisions can be quicker when all the data is presented at you right away.
