You can't change your account name unless you're a donor member.  This should alleviate the need to answer your questions.

Where can I find the help documentation related username change? Just because in another thread I read that anyone could request to change his username but it seems that the rules were updated since that thread, I guess.

Well you can look at the SMF documentation using the help link and it will tell you how to change your display name.
If however you go into your profile an attempt to do so, you will see that the option to change your display name is not available to you.
There's nothing stopping anyone from asking admins for a username change but it is highly unlikely they will entertain your request.  I'm sure it would be very low on their list of priorities.

According to recent statistics, the number of new engineering graduates from the top ten countries (excluding China and India due to lack of data) amounted to over 1.5 million per year in 2015.  An online consortium of architects and engineers "for 9/11 truth" (mostly older, male retirees) manage to cobble together a measly 2620 signatures on an online petition from licensed engineers and architects worldwide in 15 years... and if I'm not with them, I'm a mind-controlled stooge?

Hello,

Anyone tried getsharebtc.com cloud mining?

I joined Sept 1, 2016. Invested $175. Promised to get $280 in return.

Fortunately, I was able to get the promised amount sent to my blockchain account.

I was looking for information about getsharebtc.com is legit or scam, but cannot find any.

Anyone who tried this cloud mining company?

Hello,

New here.

What do you recommend to start mining with USD $20,000 to begin.

I am based in Malaysia and electricity tariff is currently at $0.09/kwh.

how many miners can I set up with this?

antminer s9 are out of stock currently?

Where can I source for cheap machines?

thank you!

 S9 are out of stock.
 Source for cheap machine? lol
Discounted pricing with Bitmain starts above your initial outlay: 50-199 units of the new R4 (@ $1395USD ea) will get you a measly 0.5% discount

You're looking at 333 days at the current bitcoin difficulty and value to break even on an Antminer R4 provided you already have a power supply.
Don't do it.  Just buy some coin.

At the same time, Mr. Alpha_goy leads us to believe we are to fear the germ-sweeper,

5 year olds fear peroxide on an open wound because of the apparent sting.

Adults think nothing of it.

Your choice whether or not to fear such a thing.

Never put your eggs in one basket.

Especially when a germ sweeper announces itself.

If you think the Bitcoin ecosystem is benevolent and think it is Wall St's replacement then by all means keep a foothold and keep calm.

If you think the Bitcoin ecosystem is (or already has) turned into an arm of Wall St. without a concrete footing with all of the scam alt coins cutting eachother's throats then maybe a position outside the play pen is suitable for you.

Nonetheless, a germ sweeper doesn't care.

The doctor comes in and administers the prescribed dosage of medication to clear up any infected cells.

It doesn't discriminate.

So the germ-sweeper is a doctor?

Is it Dr. Suess as you have eluded to?

 Are these eggs-in-one-basket green?

People will just get bored of the coins and they will lose their value...

 is that what you mean?

I believe Theodor Geisel is neither alive nor a doctor so that simply can't be...

The germ-sweeper is merely a sentiment...

 Now I see.

I have to ask who is providing the .5 prize if someone figures this puzzle out?  If you are the one offering the prize, may I suggest you put the prize into an escrow so you will have no one blasting you for trust issues or such.  I personally wish I knew enough about this to do this, so good luck to all of you who do.

The prize is a private key ! Read the thread before you post

In fairness, dude said he wished to know "enough about this to do this."

I'm intrigued by the concept of a germ-sweeper.

 On one hand, it sounds as though it should be a benevolent creature;

I mean, germs are bad right?

At the same time, Mr. Alpha_goy leads us to believe we are to fear the germ-sweeper,

especially those fakes at the so-called top of the bitcoin ecosystem...

What?! Wait.  Fakes, so-called... I'm thoroughly confused.

Do I get out of bitcoin or out of altcoins?

Fake media?!  Was there ever any other kind?

 Who to believe...

Is Alpha_goy the one true media or simply another would-be, top-of-the-so-called-top of the germ-sweeping, pie-eating, scraps-on-the-floor they

who would stir me into a frenzy, hack me and then mock me for losing everything I ever thought I might want to own?

Dividing, conquering and fooling me into a strategy of manning up...

as if that could ever save me against its domineering intellect.

Nay, the die is cast and my destiny is an open book for those masters of exchanges to write their own contracts upon my listless soul...

 But I digress...

 Germ-sweeper!

This organization has put a lot more thought into the issues and implemented a scoring system for the candidates.  They place her as a hard-core liberal which is further left than I consider her.

@Masha Sha
By left-wing I mean overtly liberal

You are quoting a website which is literally from the establishment. Her voting record would not place her as a liberal, only her speeches made in 2016 would. This does not even include paid speeches made to Wall St. executives.

The organization is stated to be non-partisan, non-profit and run by volunteers from various political stripes.  Since you don't like that source, I've e-mailed Alex Jones to see if he can give you a more unbiased opinion on Hillary's political leanings.
I haven't been to any paid speeches by any of the candidates.

Again, that source is relying only on her quotes from the 2016 election, which are not consistent with her voting record. In the end, it's the voting record that matters. You can claim to be all peace and freedom loving, but it won't matter if you don't follow through with your beliefs while in elected office.

You didn't even look at the site you shithead!
The very first page has her voting record on the abortion issue back to 2003.  I'm done with this discussion!  I thought you were serious... my bad.

Imagine that.  A left-wing news blog not wanting to publish right-leaning political rhetoric.
No doubt he was fired "with cause".  I read the article about Hillary's health and it was very poorly written; laced with immature hyperbole.
He's right to be afraid but not for his reasons.  He should be afraid he'll be unable to land another writing gig... anywhere #Orwellianmyass

Criticism of Hillary Clinton is not right leaning political rhetoric, because Hillary is right winged. Also, the article was not poorly written, it fared quite well on their website before it was taken down actually. Also, if he were fired "with cause", the standard procedure is to give a written notice of their decision to remove the article, and to terminate employment. The way he was terminated was very clandestine. He was just doing his job, reporting on a potential presidential candidate's health concerns, as Huffington Post had similarly done in 2008 regarding John McCain (You'll be using the phrase "double standards" a lot when it comes to liberalism).

Also, as for your statement about being "unable to land another writing gig", he has already landed a temporary contract with PrisonPlanet.

Just curious, why defend an obvious fascist on a forum like Bitcointalk?

I didn't defend anyone.  The article IS political rhetoric AND it sucked ass.  It was a cheeky opinion piece (aside from lesions, siezure and adrenaline pens).  Also, Hillary is a democrat ergo left-wing.  You are simply wrong on that point.
If he was doing his job, he would not have lost his contract.  He was not an employee of Huffington Post; merely a contributor so it's dead easy to get rid of him.  Sure Alex Jones will give him a chance at PrisonPlanet but when he doesn't pass muster Alex will turf him as well.  Alex doesn't have much interest in crypto currency - what else can Seaman write about?

6999  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin heating on: August 30, 2016, 10:01:47 PM
Hi,
Just a shower thoughts I wanted to share.
I live in France (That's why how awful my English is), winter is cold. My flat is electric heated.

Electric heating is basically, transforming electricity in heat with close 100% efficiency (less some IR/electromagnetic).
From some point of view (data processing apart), a computer is nothing else than an electric heater.
Is the following idea somehow smart?: replacing heaters by mining bay, that turn in winter, getting (feedbacking with arduino) a constant overall 20°C ?
Would I have a substantial rake-bake ? (Like "pay the bay in a year or so" substantial)
(Though Ether mining seems more profitable, it's not the subject)

This is not a good idea.  These ASIC devices are not meant to be turned on and off like your electrical resistance heaters to maintain your flat at 20 degrees; they tend to have very large current draws at power up so turning them on and off frequently could cause serious problems with the device itself or the power supply and there is a risk of fire.  Black Arrow, KNCminer and Asicminer had issues with their devices catching fire under normal use.  There are probably other companies that also had issues.

If you are set on mining, figure out a minimum power that would maintain your flat at a nominal temperature below 20 degrees when continuously running and use your normal heating to get to 20 degrees.  There isn't a huge selection of miners to choose from though if you want a chance to "pay the bay".  At least this way, your miner isn't powering on and off and you have no need for the arduino.

Looking at the price of the miners, I doubt this would be a way for your to lower your heating costs.  Obviously you would need to give some data for anyone to make a proper calculation and since you haven't done that, I would take the advice here with a grain of salt.  I wont mention names because their hearts are in the right place, it's just that they are somewhat fanatical about bitcoin mining.  Oh hell, not even somewhat!
