6981  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 27, 2014, 11:07:46 AM
This is still a Highest Paid Signature ?

No as far as i know it isn't the highest paid one anymore. And it's also closed for new participants.

Well from the overview it still is but the fact that it's pretty much closed and locked despite being labeled active, and the member list is more or less set meaning that the point is moot more or less
At least from the overview.

But to be fair Dicebitcoin is in the same status and does offer a higher rate.
Stunnas just been around longer.
6982  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 27, 2014, 11:04:55 AM
sent a PM to hl5460 asking when they were expecting to have the interview up (wasn't trying to rush them, just wanted to know if it was going to be like the bitell interview/non-interview).

Quote
Our guy just came back to the office this morning. We will rush him to produce the feedbacks.

Just curious if they got back to you yet since it's been a day kind of curious since the last few interview dates went by but no one knew where they were released from.

6986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm dissapointed about using bitcoin as a currency, it really should improve on: August 27, 2014, 10:55:55 AM
I really love the idea of cryptocurrencies, but lately I have been extremely frustrated with the lack of infrastructure in place for Bitcoin nevermind altcoins there are very few options out there on the internet for the kind of proper standalone merchant tools that I've been thinking about and because current solutions involve pegging Bitcoin directly to the U.S Dollar any time an exchange goes down everybody runs around in a panic trying to fix it all.
Well it's never all sunshine and roses but I agree with you lethn more tools would be nice to have handy.
Sometimes its nice to take a little break from bitcoin and see how it turns out in a few months time catch up and smell the roses as the summer starts to end and enter into that tranquil fall.
6987  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel: Operation Protective Edge on: August 27, 2014, 10:52:09 AM
As far as the OP goes though; Hamas and other Palestinian Gaza factions have announced a ceasefire. We'll see what Israel has to say about it. In either case it depends on talks that will take place in a month on prisoner releases and a port construction and I doubt they will go well.

The ceasefire looks like a complete cessation of hostilities
At least for now the war is over and can be considered finished but what goes on in the shadows and who creates the next hotspot or triggers the next event is uncertain, but at least their is a return of an unsteady peace in the Palestine.
6988  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Gambling Site Ideas? on: August 27, 2014, 10:49:32 AM
What are some new gambling sites or ideas you'd like to see in the community?

New games made by users that can then be created and added to some pool of gambling tables
Say a lottery that a user can join or a jackpot that only those who gamble there can earn from.
Other ideas would be custom games or user based house rules see where it goes and what games become popular maybe even change the house games in a casino for once.
6989  Economy / Gambling / Re: Are you a gambler? STAY AWAY FROM COINBASE! on: August 27, 2014, 10:46:44 AM
It sounds like were opening up a can of worms here.
That said all I know for certain is that if a service is monitoring and tracking every financial transaction with or without my consent and this applies to all users, I don't want any part of it.

Their is a reason that the law operates with the words innocent until proven guilty beyond the shadow of a doubt not from the perspective of if this is suspicious but we don't have enough evidence we will take preventive actions without our due diligence.
A precedent like this is concerning and its not what I would expect of a new financial industry there is compliance and then their is monitoring with a fine toothed comb for any mistakes.
6990  Economy / Economics / Re: People In Australia Have paid over $150k In Bills With Bitcoin on: August 27, 2014, 10:42:21 AM
Well that's good news I always like good economic stories about the utility and the usage of Bitcoin worldwide
Today its Australia and its nice to hear and read about.
Not sure about the service myself but in this space the more services the better as long as they provide utility and are functioning without the hint of scammery ^^.
6991  Other / Off-topic / Re: BTC Balance of BitcoinTalk Members on: August 27, 2014, 10:39:54 AM

Then again it is greater than 1 at least ^^
6992  Other / Off-topic / Re: Canada invades the United States! on: August 25, 2014, 08:05:58 AM
I read the article is not Canada but the British Troops.

Well to be technical it was what would become Canada, when they were still a British Colony.
Like the Americans were a few decades before that date.
6993  Other / Off-topic / Re: Canada invades the United States! on: August 25, 2014, 07:59:53 AM
200 years ago today, Canada entered Washington DC and burnt down the White House.

Hope you yanks learned your lesson.   Cheesy

http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/british-troops-set-fire-to-the-white-house

And we do not regret it that house was damn ugly ^_^
Good old history lessons
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/remembering-when-white-house-was-burning-president-was-hiding-and-u-was-close-to-collapse/

Hard to belive its a two century anniversary, a lot of things have changed since back then its like were living in a science fiction world compared to only two centuries in the past.
6994  Economy / Services / Re: Are you an angry bastard - Get $$ to be a Troll on: August 25, 2014, 07:56:59 AM
Wait this type of service actually existed
Today I learned that there was a site that recruited trolls for real who knew.
I thought it was just in my imagination.
I'm not looking for a troll for hire at this time but I might keep this place noted as a convenient note Smiley
6995  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 25, 2014, 07:53:16 AM
It is a pity i found out about this just now, i have been having PD signature for the last 8 month but never applied to get paid for it... Hopefully there will be enrollment again in the future.

Well it is a minimum of 50 posts a month so you would have had a damn long wait to claim a payment  Wink

Do posts in the section off topic still count btw?

They do as long as you don't live in off-topic
Stunna meant off topic posts. Not the section in particular.
6996  Other / Off-topic / Re: Places you want to travel to before you die on: August 25, 2014, 07:51:00 AM
I guess I want to see all the places in the world before I die
But of the places I have been would love to see Japan again perhaps tour of Asia
So many places its kind of hard to pick one but at this time no particular nation stands out far ahead of any others.
6997  Economy / Speculation / Re: ready for $400 again? on: August 25, 2014, 07:47:51 AM
Back up to $510 now, it'll go up to $550 and drop around the $450-$500 mark.
Why?

because $5xx is just a dead cat bounce! a fake recover!
[/quote

It could be how long is a typical bounce anyways
That said if the price doesn't dip downward again then it could also be a support level.
6998  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Mission to Rescue Hostages in Syria Failed on: August 25, 2014, 07:38:36 AM
Why didn't Obama negotiate for the release of the journalists when he released FIVE terrorists in exchange for ONE deserter?  Five for five would have been a better deal.

When did this happen?

The US does not negotiate with terrorists last time I checked.

They did back in May and he was a deserter according to the Americans, they did it so they could claim they left no soldier behind in other words when its convenient for them.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/taliban-held-us-soldier-released-in-exchange-for-afghan-detainees/2014/05/31/8b764dac-e8db-11e3-a86b-362fd5443d19_story.html

Taliban-held U.S. soldier released in exchange for Afghan detainees

Taliban fighters released the sole remaining American military hostage Saturday morning to a team of U.S. troops in eastern Afghanistan, who quickly hustled him onto a helicopter. Once airborne, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl scribbled the letters “SF?” on a paper plate, seeking confirmation that he was with Special Operations forces.

“Yes!” one of the troops hollered back above the din of the aircraft’s blades, according to a defense official who described Bergdahl’s first moments of freedom. “We’ve been looking for you for a long time.”

Bergdahl, 28, who had been held captive nearly five years, broke down in tears.

His release was secured after the Obama administration, working through Qatari government intermediaries, agreed to free five high-profile Afghan inmates held by the U.S. military in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The influential commanders, including the former head of the Taliban’s army, were loaded onto a U.S. military aircraft bound for Qatar after U.S. officials got confirmation that Bergdahl had been freed.

Bergdahl’s “safety and health were both in jeopardy,” and officials had to act quickly to obtain his release, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said Sunday, according to the Associated Press.
6999  Economy / Economics / Re: How do no fee exchanges make money on: August 25, 2014, 07:36:46 AM
Build up a user base and then run away with everyone's coins.

Sounds about right, the other way is sponsorships and advertising but that usually comes when a service has a large dedicated userbase or some venture capital funding to back them up in order to attract new users.
That said its always best to be cautious.
7000  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: August 25, 2014, 07:34:26 AM
More ebola news, still spreading I wonder how long until the initial stages of transmission end.
Two new cases of Ebola reported in Democratic Republic of Congo
http://www.vox.com/2014/8/24/6063027/ebola-virus-found-in-the-democratic-republic-of-the-congo

The Ebola outbreak has been confined to West Africa: Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria, and Guinea. Now a fifth country — the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa — appears to be battling the virus.

The DRC health minister, Dr. Felix Kabange Numbi, says two people have just died from Ebola during a deadly hemorrhagic fever outbreak in a remote, northwestern region of the country. According to reports, there were 13 deaths in total.

Numbi says the outbreak in his country has "nothing to do with the one in West Africa," according to the Associated Press. But the World Health Organization says it is waiting to confirm the DRC's findings. In its own labs, it will test to find out which of the five strains of the Ebola virus afflicted the Congolese and whether they match the strain circulating in West Africa, known as Zaire ebolavirus.

At least it still looks containable.
