701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feathercoin - LTC was judged the same way on: April 25, 2013, 08:38:37 PM
Yep I had stumbled across that post... I like the idea of more scrypt coins at the moment...
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptofolio.info - easily see how much all your coins are worth on: April 25, 2013, 05:57:30 AM
new version of the site up let me know what you think Cheesy
cryptofolio.info

the exchange rate column is in BTC unless it is BTC in that case its in the local currency.

if one of the exchanges are down it should display an exchange rate of zero for the coins that it cant get the rate for.

you can edit the exchange rates now.

should be faster.

may need to click two buttons now, update then calculate if you want to the second prices.

rough exchange rate for Feathercoin is 0.000518
not sure about Freicoin or Bytecoin

today is a public holiday here although its 12:21 AM now, so I may get time for a few bug fixes and be able to implement a few new coins (cant do feathercoin or bytecoin unfortunately)

we all need to email btc-e asking for FC an perhaps BC

thanks however:

All pricing is from Vircurex(except Freicoin which is first converted into LTC at https://cryptonit.net/exchange/2/6 then converted at Vircurex to BTC and Bytecoin which has a hardcoded price)

i would probably be better off just pulling from vircurex directly, less sites to be dependent on, ill use his his trick for freicoin though Cheesy

bytecion and feathercoin will have to wait until I can find a proper exchange rate on a exchange.

I mean feathercoin for instance this morning was 14-16 LTC per 1000k now its like 16-24 LTC per 1000k I cant keep manually updating the site, I would hate for the exchange rate to be incorrect as well.

706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptofolio.info - easily see how much all your coins are worth on: April 23, 2013, 10:04:11 AM
glad you all like it Cheesy

if there's a coin that you want added that's on vircurex or btc-e just let me know in here.

I want to support feathercoin and possibly bytecoin but I cant find an exchange with a API just yet.. lol
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptofolio.info - easily see how much all your coins are worth on: April 23, 2013, 05:06:38 AM
Great site, it's gonna be useful. Smiley

Maybe in the future you could make it possible to just input addresses and it would read the exact balance from the blockchain. It's a bit tedious to calculate everything first if someone uses plenty of addresses and does lots of transactions. It's a great site thought, good job. Wink

already tried to do this, I tried to take a shortcut and use the API from places like http://blockchain.info, http://explorer.litecoin.net and the other ABE based block chain explorers...

Doing it this way would make it easier to code, but also make my site depend on more other sites to be up and running.

The problem is that only blockchain.info supports addressbalance with a confirmations parameter.

https://github.com/jtobey/bitcoin-abe/blob/master/TODO.txt
The todo list lists addressbalance so its not yet implemented, with no mention of a confirmations querystring.

Once I discovered that I would need to look in to the actual network (like a wallet?) to get the information for each transaction, for each coin I unfortunately put it in the to hard basket (for now).

If you have multiple coins and are having a hard time keeping track...

check out http://cryptofolio.info

Please report bugs and or feedback here or on twitter @cryptofolio

known bugs:
www.cryptofolio.info is diffrent to http://cryptofolio.info in regards to remembering your settings.
If a exchange is down I would like it to make it fall over to a different exchange where possible (and be seamless to the user).

new features:
if vircurex API is down there's a button now to disable DVC, so you can still use the site.
cookie to remember settings (amounts and currency)

ok I will make a post in the alt coin forum.  I did here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=184255.0

There is a cookie that saves all the settings. The only issues that I know of is www.cryptofolio.info is a different cookie to cryptofolio.info ... this will be fixed shortly...

or you have cleared your cookies since you went there last, or you have cookies disabled.

I'm guessing nothing was ever shipped to Luke-Jr so "Agrees" could still win?

How could they have shipped before April but not before May?

who said they shipped before April? the first thing ive seen in a box is http://codinginmysleep.com/bfl-jalapeno-unboxing-and-demo/ and he says...

Full disclosure: This was indeed a free review unit.

it is still undecided imo, he didn't pay for it so he is not a "customer".

Have multiple cryptos need to see how much there all worth? sick of updating a spreadsheet?

Look no further http://cryptofolio.info is here Cheesy

The information you enter is stored client side in a cookie, the advantage is I wont know how much you have. Disadvantage is if you use multiple PC's.

Any feedback would be appreciated, I have some ideas on how to make it so you don't even need to enter the amount of each coin.

Or if you think it's fun and have a decent guess that you will get your money back. (Free hobby!)

Were I live if you make a loss its a hobby, if you make money its a business venture. (according to the government)

Don't forget to declare it as capital gains.
720  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling on mtgox on: April 15, 2013, 12:35:52 PM
Personally I don't leave coins on any exchange unless I need to (ie there in a buy order) or if its a small amount I wouldn't miss. Probably means I pay more fees but its worth it.
