701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Official] So what happened to Elacoin? on: May 14, 2013, 07:25:42 AM
I pulled my previous post... it's obvious there is more going on here than is being relayed.
Unfortunately.. all this talk does is hurt the rep of two forum members.

Let's stop beating each other up...

Milkshake -- fix it.
Hazard -- work on your coin.

Might want to check this out - https://github.com/elacoin/elacoin/commit/a46642f5e380531517414ca688df2830944fb16a

So the starting difficulty is now 1000000 ?

How does one even mine the genesis block. I complied the linux client and started it, it's hanging on "loading block index" -- does that mean it's trying to mine the genesis block?

If so it'll keep you busy forever and this is just an elaborate troll.

Plenty of connections but no blocks indeed.

is the pool closed already?? registrations stopped ?

also no windows wallet on release?

oh dear

POOLS CLOSED DUE TO AIDS

UUUGH i got out of bed early for this...
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 14, 2013, 01:27:26 AM
Right but we lacked proof. Here it is.
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 14, 2013, 01:10:47 AM
Get ready to throw them in the shitter because here's the Premine Proof:

707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN][PWC: PREMINE ALERT][Proof inside]Powercoin was PREMINED for 56.000 coins on: May 14, 2013, 01:02:03 AM
So, when I was lucky enough to be at the launch of an altcoin, I found it strange that I had to synch nearly 2000 blocks while I joined in merely 10 minutes after the forum release.

Today I spent all day setting up Abe's blockexplorer and I did some digging in the Powercoin blockchain. I sourced the blocknumber @ the releasetime, which was 1:55:59 UTC.

The dev (NMO) kept insisting there was no premine. While in fact 56K coins were premined.

I tried to get him to discredit himself by asking for a bribe, but he didn't bite to that. He insisted it was not a premine and was not intended as such. He will probably keep saying this this was "not a premine". LOL.

Ah well, let the proof speak for itself:

EXTRA FACT
- The linux compile was botched beyond repair and could not be compiled without serious knowledge of the code. It still cannot. Linux users were heavily hindered. NWO was ready and has admitted that he would mine from release - the linux botching might have been on purpose so that he had more time to reap the benefits of the early easy difficulty. This is mere speculation of course, but as more things are fishy, this is a viable option.

Also, I did manage to mine 6K during the low difficulty, but the premine made me think of them as worthless. I have no issues discrediting this filthy premined junkcoin clone.

//edit
This just in: NWO plans to sue me for uncovering his uncomfortable truth

Stop getting so defensive. I have everything documented and it is going to the law firm this afternoon. You rattled the wrong hornets nest.

You threaten to deface a brand by extorting me yet now try and make out you are not doing that. I'm collecting your IP and email from admin as we speak.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Elacoin | Releasing In 1 Day | Fair Elastic Scrypt Mining | No Premine on: May 13, 2013, 11:29:36 PM
2 AM Eastern?  Terrible launch time nobody from the U.S. will be awake to participate.  I guess I'll skip this one

MURRICA. As if a coin would be unsuccessful if Merica wouldn't be able to participate. The world doesn't revolve around you.
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Elacoin | Releasing In 1 Day | Fair Elastic Scrypt Mining | No Premine on: May 13, 2013, 11:16:01 PM
That timer is for people on Eastern Standard Time. I'm working on finding a decent timer that gets your current timezone.

I'd post no countdoun then, as on average 23/24 people are going to be misinformed this way.
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Elacoin | Releasing In 1 Day | Fair Elastic Scrypt Mining | No Premine on: May 13, 2013, 11:13:43 PM
The official website is now live: http://elacoin.org. Bounties, dev docs, mining guide, and client download will be updated at launch time.
Countdown timer till launch is here(EST): http://elacoin.org/countdown.html

If you would like to help contribute to the website use this repo: https://github.com/super3/ElacoinWeb
I will be accepting pull requests, and refreshing the sever throughout today.

Better fix that timer. People gonna be mad for you releasing 6 hours too early.

What's the default port going to be for this coin?

I couldn't help but notice a distinct lack of boobs in that video.
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC - Why are you mining with 7950 and not with 7970 on: May 13, 2013, 05:46:14 PM

This

I have a 7970 (msi lightning) , one of the best 7970's you can get and there's bugger all i can do to get it over 650.

My 7950's do 670-680 easy, and that's not even pushing them (I can get over 700 but choose not to due to extra heat/power).

Sounds like you took the worst 7970 out there. As I said, I've got a batch of 12 Sapphire 7970's that ALL do 750 easily, most of them more.
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC - Why are you mining with 7950 and not with 7970 on: May 13, 2013, 05:15:17 PM
Because your cost calculations weighted with equipment costs and wattage results in a better earning and shorter ROI on 7950s

I'd like some numbers on that better kh/J claim. Shorter ROI doesn't mean shit if you're planning to mine in the long run.
Yes it does, it means your getting more coin per day.... long term, that bit more coin you say doesnt mean shit could be a fortune.

Lol no you get more coins a day if you have more hashing power. It's all about the kh/J. Energy is a daily spending. Coins are a daily income. The actual hardware is a one time purchase.
715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC - Why are you mining with 7950 and not with 7970 on: May 13, 2013, 04:40:59 PM

You can't count on getting 800KH out of all 7970s... I have only seen a few people do it. Plus 7950's use 50w less power.

You can actually, if you have the right series. Just make sure any subsequent cards are the exact same ones, preferably from the same vendor.

All my sapphires (11197-03-40G) ALL do 750 @ exactly the same settings, and some golden samples do a little more. But baseline, they all hit 750.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC - Why are you mining with 7950 and not with 7970 on: May 13, 2013, 04:28:07 PM
Great informational retort.

If you had done your math properly, you'd have taken into account that the cards dont *POOF* lose all their value when you buy them. You don't 'lose' an extra 100$ which has to be completely paid back by the cards.

Also I had 4x the ROI of my rigs by lucking out on FTC - and that ROI was before I even bought them! What I'm saying is ROI is mere speculation. There is no 'math' in speculation. It's just philosophy with numbers. You can't predict the market.
You bought three cards. I bought four. The total cost was the same. Four gets more coins. Who gets more money back?

Actually I bought 12 but w/e
717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 13, 2013, 04:13:24 PM
OP didn't lie. Some guy I know from Shanghai/China said he is part of the BTER group and that they would add PWC ...
The reason why I believed that guy is he knew things in advance, always, like which coin BTER will add next and when.
It turned out he's a bit delusional. I still don't understand it, really. But the OP didn't lie.
And the coin isn't premined, there was a short mine for testing purposes and it is all being given away for free & bounties.

Haha and you actually believe that? I haven't seen them hand out 100.000 PWC yet.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 13, 2013, 03:49:24 PM
And why the fuck are people still mining this? The OP lied about BTer. At that point, it was time to redirect your miners to something with actual value Roll Eyes

I'm merely trying to run the client on linux so I can explore the blockchain with ABE explorer and prove that this shitcoin was premined.

@SylTi, thanks mate, it worked!

Enjoy spending an extra $100 per GPU and extra money for electricity costs to get almost no increase in hash rate (if you can even get 700Kh/s, that is).

I'll mine with my 4 GPUs doing 700Kh/s each while you mine with your equally expensive 3 GPUs doing 750Kh/s each.

As long as the kh/J rating is the same, there are no 'extra electricity costs', relatively this stays the same but yet you reap better benefits from lower difficulties, because you have more hashing power.

You make loose claims and sound butthurt that you don't have 7970's somehow. The cards don't instantly lose their value either, so all bullshit about ROI is mere speculation as well.
