701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: March 27, 2014, 08:32:50 PM
I got my Gridseed miners on Tuesday. 20 of them.  I was able to get only 10 up and running because of one faulty usb hub.

I started mining on this pool because of a review I came about on a blog.  I checked the site out and I liked the setup and the stats it had on it.

so for a whole day, I mined 3.6 MH/s on the NY server.

The next day, I pointed the other 3.6 MH/s....

I noticed that my reject rate was very high!! I was always getting 20-30-60+++% rejection.  I'm new to all this, but I'm assuming that the rejection affects my income.

Today, I pointed to the sf server to try it out.  Rejection was over 100%  more like 130+

back to the ny server....same thing....

I did read that others complaining about the rejection rate on the pool too.  And the reply they got is to wait for an hour or 2 before you see it stabilizing.  I tell you, that when I pointed my miners to scryptguild, the rejection rate was 1-5% within few minutes and stayed at that rate.

I like the site like I said.  And I would like to find a pool to stick with and not jump around.  I tried wafflepool, but I realized it gets ddos from time to time and its a very simple setup they have.

so, if these issues are resolved, payments and rejects.. then I see no other better pool to be a part of.  But PLEASE sort these things out because if we don't see a consistency in payments, and mining, then people like me will look elsewhere even though your pool has a nice setup.

How do you get over 130% rejects??  Shocked
I believe Terk is working on it.
702  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My Custom Gridseed Case Build on: March 27, 2014, 08:09:35 PM
Would you sell your case? Are you based somewhere in the EU?

cheers

Let's see how it turns out first. Just the cost on the parts are more than I think most would want to pay:  $157.87 not including connecting brackets

Hope to have it built this weekend...

Shopping list:
Ryobi 7-1/4 in. Miter Saw With Laser
Diablo 7-1/4 in. x 56 Tooth Carbide Circular Saw Blade
Ryobi Miter Saw Stand

Estimated Subtotal $231.94+tax
:/

That saw and blade are awesome together though, bought the saw new off of Craigslist for half price. I used a table though.

Terk,

I think it might help people to add that the 24-hour number at the top is a trailing 24-hours.  Just something I have noticed with my clients.

I have Gridseed miners which require Cpuminer, which does not have a --scrypt flag
but a algo=scrypt flag. I point my farm at Clevermining and get no report of hashing.

How can this be addressed?

I'm using BFG and Windows to point my 10 GridSeeds to clever, no issue here. Best of luck!

I have 50 of them and BFGMiner won't run that many

I heard BFG could do 50... Angry Obviously I can't check though.

My cabinet is split between GPUs and Ants, so I'll tell you how much I pay with how much power I use. I pay under 800 for 8,320 Watts of usable power, 32 IPs and a full cab.  If you want some more info PM me.
That's like paying 0.13USD/kW, and then getting free rent, AC, security, insurance, and internet. Not bad.

Thanks!! I have no idea how I managed to negotiate that price, I pay half as much for twice as much power than I would at a competitor down the street. But I have been told that anyone that I refer to their company will receive the same discounts. So if anyone wants more information PM me.

Available locations are as follows:
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Irvine, CA
  • Dallas, TX
  • Denver, CO
  • Louisville, KY
  • Newark, DE

Hum...tempting....considering electricty alone would be $605 here for that much. How do you remote into your S1s? VPN to a computer then connect?

VPN works perfectly.

Is anyone here colocating antminers at a facility? What is your experience? How do you remote access an antminer in a colocation facility? These things suck up a lot of power making it difficult to have enough at home so I am looking at collocation.

I am, it's wonderful having a quiet house. Where are you located?

Austin. Do you mind me asking how much you pay and for how many? Most colocations base prices on high bandwidth and these guys need very little in that regard.

711  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Gridseed hosted(or not) groupbuy 190$/unit or 150$ with hosting on: March 14, 2014, 08:06:16 PM
For the hosted units, is it $150 in addition to the cost of the unit? Or is it $150 "out the door and hashing" for the hosted unit?

Terk, I just want to say thank you for your incredible hard work!! My rejects were cut in half with the launch of the new regional servers. I love your pool, and since I found it I have been mining here. Keep up the good work! Smiley
713  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: March 04, 2014, 05:32:55 PM
It stopped working when I set up my second cube on a 850W PSU after adjusting them from high clock back to low and unplugging to change the pci-e connectors because they weren't connected in the neatest way possible. Before that, they worked fine
It is very important to be completely methodical isolating variables. Test one thing at a time in order to eliminate any conflicts.
1. Mark each Cube and PSU so you can easily keep track: Cube #1, PSU #1, Cube #2, PSU #2.
2. Make the settings exactly the same on each cube if possible.

3. Turn off both PSUs
4. Power Cube #1, PSU #1 up and write the results down.
5. Power Cube #1, PSU #1 down.
6. Power Cube #2, PSU #2 up and write the results down.
7. Power Cube #2, PSU #2 down.

8. Swap the PCE-E connectors between  toned up with: Cube #1, PSU #2 and Cub2 and PSU #1 being careful to insure the connectors are moved to the same (left/right) connectors. The two PCI-E connectors on the Cube are connected differently internally.
9. Power Cube #1, PSU #2 up and write the results down.
10. Power Cube #1, PSU #2 down.
11. Power Cube #2, PSU #1 up and write the results down.
12. Power Cube #2, PSU #1 down.

Examine the matrix of results. At this point you should know which CPUs and PSUs work and which don't.
If it is a Cube you may need to perform a variation of the above with the Ethernet cables and Cubes.

Thanks for your reply. This is the link to the PSU I have: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00596CP9E/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it works.

Read my above reply, the PSU works one Cube 1 but not Cube 2 with every combination of PCI-E connectors that could be tried, I tried. The ethernet cables are not the problem, Cube 2 isn't starting, comparing to Cube 1, there other green PWR light does not come one, the Red status light is also off, and there is no click noise which is parallel to the lights coming one to tell me the cube is powered. The cube is getting power but maybe one connection or internal component is faulty or something and therefore Cube 2 cannot start.

Relying on you guys to point me in the right direction.

I'm not an expert, but it seems that the power relay is starting to go out on some cubes. I had to short circuit one of my four. Works perfectly now!

Anyway I was in contact with seller and they sent me picture which contact of relay I should shortened.
Problem solved, safety decreased but hashing...for now. Smiley
Care to share that information and image?

OK...I hope now it will work...imgur and inserting images here is killing me.

Best regards

How would one Short these two pins? Wire and electric tape or a solder job? I ask because I have no solder experience.  Thanks!

Take soldering iron and put it to both pins same time till it melt. Same time you add some soldering wire and you will get little soldering bubble which will connect both pins. No need to add any other things (copper wire, tape....). It worked for me and now Cube works without interruptions.
But think about other possibility: maybe you have PS which can not provide enough current to your cube. Because of that voltage drops and relay K1 begin to 'buzz'.

Thanks! No, it's definitely not a power issue, I had it hooked up to a AX1200 and a AX1200i. I'll test that out this weekend.
