I am very green to mining.  I currently use BMAT for scrypt mining with 2 AMD R7970HD cards.  I would like to switch over to the X11 when it becomes available but as I understand it BMAT won't do X11 mining.  Since I need an operating system that will run off a USB stick could someone please give me some help or suggestions on how to go about this?  Thanks in advance!

PM'd you! Check this LINK, and let me know if you have any questions.

Film,

I understand time is money, but I would be happy to help you via team viewer. Let me know.

@PW
with D=0.160 about how often should I be finding a share on X11 (Have not found any in 20 minutes). My hashrate is about 2.0 MHs.

Thats probably 10x what you should be at Smiley

Switch to either 0.008 or 0.016 (probably better).

Can you post a table on the X11 Beta page similar to the one on the FAQ page?  I think it would help people set their own difficulty.

Film,

Try bfgminer (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=517451.0) , I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, if you're using putty, you can copy text and use right click to paste in the terminal.

If you need any help, I'd be happy to help you.

550  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: June 06, 2014, 03:00:20 PM
Question!

I have an internet facing IP Address on my ANT, and couple days I have a string of "Bad Password Attempts" from a Chinese IP. Is there anyway to block this IP from my device? I have to restart the ANT every 40 hours or so because it thinks it's being DDOS'd

Yeah just go into the firewall and add a deny rule for all traffic from that IP.

Thanks, I was looking for that option, must have overlooked it.

Got some news for you.Everything's now ready to run, except that I can't access my Raspberry Pi remotely which I'd need to see and manage miners since I have a mac and Putty/SSH isn't really available.

After this,I'll try to run the miner.

Just tried running the miner according to this guide:http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoinmining/comments/20qddx/a_simple_guild_to_set_up_gridseed_ltc_mining_rig/ and I get an error saying 'Unexpected extra comandline arguments' 'Segmentation fault' on the Raspberry Pi.

If I can't get this working then I'll have to ask someone to make me a custom made image that's plug and play for a price (must be reasonabe) where all I need to do is slot in SD card, plug in miners and start mining.

I'm looking for help to resolve these issues.

I wouldn't use CGMiner, have you tried bfgminer? What does your network situation look like? I know its on Wifi, but do you have access to this network on a daily basis?

90% LTC profitability? Can anyone explain why one should stay with this pool and not straight mine LTC currently? No flaming, thanks!

Because LTC pools also have days with as low as 50-70% LTC profitability. You don't ever get straight 100.00000000%, ever. There's always some bad or good luck.

Most single-coin pools simply don't show such stats. But some of them do. Just an example from straight BTC pool stats: https://www.btcguild.com/index.php?page=pplns - at the very bottom of the page they show their results over several time spans which are (at the moment when I write this):

Quote
24H: 74.669%
3D: 93.416%
1W: 96.422%
2W: 95.940%
1M: 95.391%
3M: 89.551%
All Time: 98.219%

This shows that 75% day is perfectly normal even for a large pool which has 10-15% of total network hashrate.

In the long term mining straight LTC will give 98-99% LTC profitability (it won't be 100% because of orphans, etc). There will be days with 70% and days with 130%, but in the long term it will be just slightly below 100%, like 98-99%.

When you're mining at CleverMining, part of your hashrate goes to mining LTC and part of your hashrate goes to mining other coins (because not always there are other coins more profitable than LTC). That LTC part will generate ~98% in the long term just as if you were mining on a straight LTC pool. That other-coins part will generate >98% in the long term. The combined and final result is our 106% LTC profitability over the last 30 days compared to ~98% which you can expect at a straight LTC pool, so it's 8% better. And this is your reason to stay at CleverMining.

Thank you Terk for this prime example of variance!!

ciao dickhead...

I was advised to upgrade to the new firmware.

please go back to the rock you crawled out from under....

Anywho......

Is the img file up on their support site. Maybe reflashing the SD will work.

not the old one - already checked

Well, that's all I had. What was the last version number?  Bear with me here, I don't have a Hashra miner, just following the thread.
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DISTROCOIN X11 / iPHONE APP SOON / DEBIT CARDS SIGNUP / WALLET UPDATE on: June 05, 2014, 09:47:27 PM
the debit cards are a game changer imo, along side the iphone app, this has the potential to go mainstream like few other cryptos have and will, im predicting 50-100mil market cap( by the way evan btc's m cap is tiny for something with a global market so 50-100m is seriously chicken feed) in another 6-12 months if Devs deliver and market this properly, but just my opinion...

Has there been any ETA given for the debit cards, iphone app or other goals?  Sorry I'm new to Distro and am still catching up

ETA for iphone is extremely soon it should be released this week.

ETA for debit cards is when we have enough orders to process it.

If this happens within the Apple store, it will be amazing! Rooting for it to succeed, even though I am an Android person.  I feel it will open up the eyes of the blind Apple sheeple; either that or it will be the next best ingenious idea the Apple created.  Roll Eyes

When is the ETA for PoW end?

Last I calculated was about 16hours. Based on block time
