701  Other / Off-topic / Re: BTC Faucet.. why? on: December 04, 2013, 08:25:47 AM
I own a faucet and right now I wouldn't say I'm earning. I paid a hundred for the script and I'm making about 20 dollars per week for advertising.

I think I have a good conspiracy theory about why BTC has risen so much in value.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin
Quote:
In 2012, The Economist reasoned that Bitcoin has been popular because of "its role in dodgy online markets",[12] and in 2013 the FBI shut down one such service, Silk Road, which specialized in illegal drugs (whereupon the FBI took control of approximately 1.5% of all bitcoins in circulation).

So the US Guberment has 1.5% of all BTC. Who wants to guess at their value today?

At the time it was worth $28 million. And reportedly a total of $33 million in BTC just in October. Now since then their value has risen 10 times that and so they hold $300 million or more worth of BTC.

I'm willing to bet they are holding them too and one has to wonder if they are possibly behind any manipulation. Even worse what if they artificially inflate it and then intentionally crash it so that people lose their trust in crypto currency.

I wonder how we can find out what the US Gov is doing with all those BTC?

I thought about it for awhile, and it may POSSIBLY be the case. What are your thoughts on this?

the majority of coins are premined

quark sucks
Quark wasn't pre-mined,  which makes your second statement a bit bizarre.. maybe explain the reasons as to why?

Quarkcoin wasn't pre-mined, but 98% of the coins were mined prior being released.
What are you talking about?

If 98% of the coins were mined prior to being released, then it was pre-mined... this is not the case.

Quarkcoins were announced on this forum and when I started mining it was around block #500.

so, is QRK still solo minable, or not..?

yeah, if you like 16 quark block rewards and being orphaned all the time

707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal really needs to be shut down and replaced immediately on: December 03, 2013, 04:01:23 PM
I haven't had any terrible issues with PayPal yet, their support are fine in my opinion considering I only contacted them once in regards to a transaction and me being limited due to using VPN. Other than that, their site is fine but that may be because I've been a member for 7 years.

You realize that if you were infected with a remote administration tool, they are capable of using your network as a socks proxy and login with your IP? Think about it.

717  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blockchain.info API for Gambling Script on: December 02, 2013, 02:41:44 PM
Watch out for the API call limits though; if you're going to need more API calls per hour you have to inform blockchain.info about it.

Thats right, but a good Script doesn't need so much Api calls.

But when the Casino grows, it can be a thing you have to think about.

It'll just be a basic High or Low gambling site. Do you know how many API requests I can make per hour? I can't seem to find it on the Blockchain's page.
718  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Purchasing coins via Moneybookers/PayPal/Credit Card on: December 02, 2013, 01:22:44 PM
Hi,

I've noticed these three options arent available anywhere, on any market...usually its just bank transfers and dodgy e-wallets (which also require bank trasnfer in the beginning)

It is quite hard to buy coins, if I decide to bank wire, it takes sooo much time for it to get processed and then it's too late....

Are there any time-reasonable ways to buy them darn coins?

Problem with those three options are they are easily reversible so scammers and rippers take advantage of that by calling up their bank and saying that the payment was unauthorized.
719  Economy / Services / Re: Discounted Amazon.com Shopping Servive on: December 02, 2013, 01:18:56 PM
How do we know how you're paying isn't against the law, perhaps carded gift cards or perhaps using a stolen credit card itself? It could get us into a lot of trouble.
720  Economy / Services / Re: [Free Coins] Find old SMF forums, get bitcoins! on: December 02, 2013, 01:10:13 PM
he is looking to hack forums, and u do the job for him to find them ..lol

Or perhaps he might be a white hat hacker and contact the owners of their vulnerability and get paid for that? I don't know nor do I care. It's so simple to do a Google Dorks search anyway.
