701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU gave incorrect result regardless of the OC on: April 25, 2018, 09:59:56 AM
The problem is it submits wrong shares regardless of the OC.
Otherwise i would have just slowed it down with 100Mhz Sad

I am a holder of ITNS because i believe in the future of decentralised vpns. I have some questions that I hope our community can help me with:

1) Will the new internet privacy laws have any effect on ITNS and what could they be?

2) Can ITNS work with Stratum now that the new privacy laws will come into effect?

3) What does ITNS do better than Sentinel?

Many thanks in advance

Finally had a chance to test it in 3D. Used Furmark.

With the stock clock it worked for more than 6-7 minutes with no issues.
However, when i pushed the clocks to the one i use on all other cards
it needed about 10 seconds before it showed artifacts and the driver restarted.
I tried other clocks then and if the core clock is above 100mhz it eventually crashes.

Then tried all possible combinations of TDP, mem and core clocks
while mining. It always displays errors for wrong calculations.

For one hour about 80% of the results were wrong.

Definately I'll try to RMA it.

I hope the 57% of Storj tokens are held by the Storj Team and not by someone else.

It seems to me that there are a lot of differences in these two projects and they may resemble the common goal, but on the technological side they are very different

Please explain how are they different.

There are suitable resources such as hard disk and bandwidth to consider storj mining and play, although the income is not very good, but we can drill for IPFS.

How is Storj's protocol different from IPFS?

So to offer resources through SONM network you need a seperate PC?
There is no way to use a software which allows resource sharing on any OS as Golem does?
Why it works only on high-end hardware? How to utilise tons of unused
CPU cycles from older computers?

Hello!
You can use the PC on which you work, if some of the resources are idle. Our software can be run in Linux, Windows and Mac. Read more documentation here. As for a full-fledged PC - to perform any task most fully, you need the same - full-fledged hardware. The better the equipment, the better (or faster) it performs the task. But SONM does not have strict conditions that restrict the level of equipment to only a high-end level. By the way, at the moment we already have a real task that can be started relatively old PCs and which brings revenue in SNM tokens. Read more here and here. Join!  Smiley

Stay tuned

1. Tried to create SONM wallet - no luck
(missing options in website, totally different from the guide,
missing "get test tokens" missing option to view own address)

2. Tried to configure Hub, evrything is very fragmented.
Wallet, which is actualy on the web (no info if
I can use MYEW and add a SONM token to it).

Different exe for hub (and probably worker)

No GUI, config file is just a bunch of text and is very unclear.
(an example file would be usefull, better formatting too)

It looks that for a person who never did this it would take hours to
read all the guides and attempt installing and configuring.

According to whattomine - yes, ETH is most profitable.
However there are a lot of shitcoins which are more profitable, but not listet.
However the risk there is very high.

Nvidias are usually best at Equihash due to their higher core clock speed.
So you can test profitability with +150 core clock on some equihash with any 3GB 1060,
regardless of it's memory brand or clock speed.

Or you can search for some totally unknown coin with some great tech or idea and
a active team of devs and start mining regardless of the current profit.
After all, a coin's price is not the price at which you mine, but the price at whitch you sell.

Or instead investing in GPUs, research, set up time and electricity bills, you can buy
some popular coin. Then HODL it for a year and sell.

...or not mine ETH with it.

Hey mates,

I'm about to buy another rig with several gtx 1060, but I don´t know if it´s better option to spend a bit more on 6 gb models or buy 3 gb models..... because of future dag epoch so we couldn´t mine eth....

I doubt between these cards:

- msi gaming gtx 1060 x 3gb: 268€
- zotac amp gtx 1060 6 gb: 300€
- gigabyte aorus gtx 1060 6 gb: 332€

What option would you choose right now? I'm thinking about mining eth and zec.

Regards and thanks in advance

3GB cards have about 1 year of life on ETH, after that switch to something else.
However, the main thing you should be interested in is what brand of memory
each of them uses.

Samsung does 24-25, Micron does 23-24, Hynix does 18-20Mh/s

can someone help relocating the wallet Database to another drive?
I hate it when everything tries to overload my C: drive!

1. Your hard drive is full?
2. Drive is read-only?
3. Drive has bad blocks?

restore from backup or import private key to another PC.

Erm... does all that mean the coin itself is:

a) dead

b) hurt, but alive

c) alive, but stolen

Are the holders of Cryply affected?
717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: April 18, 2018, 08:24:51 PM
so golem main net has been launched? Can we start gnt mining now? Also I heard elastic is also a super computer project too. which is more powerful elastic or golem? or sonm even? what are the differences?

I already asked the same question. It looks like nobody knows exactly what these three are, or they are too complex/experimental/not launched. Hence, comparing them is real challange.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: April 18, 2018, 07:58:19 PM
Storj mining revenue is very poor, the node operation mode has a lot of problems. Do not seize the opportunity to layout nodes. When IPFS comes out, it will die.

Please explain. How is IPFS better than Storj's FS?

Hey, community! We finally wrapped up the monthly report. You will find answers to most of the questions that tormented you last month — dive into the text to find out!

Very logical steps in the right direction. Congrats on development!

However there are other distributed supercomputers: Golem (live since 2 days) and Xel.
Can anyone summarize main difference between them and SONM?
