701  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [INTEREST] CoiningSolutions.com Bitmain AntMiner S3 List on: June 19, 2014, 04:48:37 PM
I'd be up for 2 - perhaps more depending on price - time frame, etc.

If the S2's come down in price - i'd consider one of those.

Added.

Just a heads up, I spoke with Bitmain this morning and as far as pricing they will have their official numbers in a few days. I want to say by this weekend or a Monday announcement. I plan and hope to have some numbers finalized before then since pricing is still in the air. So until I hear back again we're just going off of hope for now. Smiley

so far it sounds like they are going to get their official pricing soon and open up sales on their website within a couple days (they said 3 days in the announcement)

so your thinking you'll have our group buy pricing before they release the official pricing on their website and open up sales to the public?

S-1s burning 400 watts at 25 cents a kwatt would make  fiat roi if btc goes to 1000 usd.   Those that say but if you purchased btc and held  you would have made more don't understand  the game at all .

Had this argument so many times.      Sad but actually good for me.

Fiat RoI is useless, and I can prove it. Let's say your target is +50% RoI.

BTC RoI: Buy a miner for 1 BTC worth $610 USD now. Miner generates 1.5 BTC over its life. +50% BTC RoI.

Fiat RoI: Send me 1 BTC now worth $610 USD. When BTC goes to $1000, I'll send you .915 BTC worth $915. +50% Fiat RoI.

If you truly believe in Fiat ROI, I offer you a guaranteed +50% fiat profit. How many BTC will you send me now?

i believe in fiat ROI because BTC is so volatile, I 'dollar cost average' my mining income and cash out weekly to bi-weekly to fiat, this has proven a great strategy.  especially after timing the market right and cashing out on high points and holding on low points

709  Economy / Goods / [SOLD] Escort Passport 9500i Radar Detector [red] *new pics and price* on: June 18, 2014, 11:13:37 PM
Used faithfully for a couple years, comes with the detector and the power adapter

Will update with pic later tonight after I get home from work

Looking for .5 .46 BTC $210 shipped from Oregon

Escort's Passport 9500i radar detector utilizes GPS functionality for added layers of protection. In addition to its outstanding ability to detect radar and laser, this detector uses powerful GPS technology to keep track of your speed. You can program it to operate at full sensitivity when traveling on the highway, then to shift automatically to city mode when your speed decreases so it'll filter out false alarms caused by outside interference.

The user-friendly display gives you loads of information, including your own speed, so you can stay apprised of your situation. The automatic volume control adjusts the loudness of the alerts based on the ambient noise level in your car. The detector comes in a rugged travel case for better portability.

The location-marking feature lets you mark areas along the road where the speed limit drops quickly, or where red light or speed cameras are placed. Just tap a button on the nickel-plated keyboard to store locations, and the Passport 9500i will warn you when you approach them in the future. Or press the mute button at the location of a known false signal — the Passport 9500i will remember the signal, muting the alert the next time you pass by. You
'll hear an alert if another type of signal comes from the same location.

713  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can I use mineral oil as cooling system for GridSeed unit? on: June 18, 2014, 05:11:17 PM
yeah just take the fans off if your mining scrypt only

or you can remove one fan off of one, and put the other with the fan on top so both units only use 1 fan
714  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: RK-BOX,450GH/S,480W ,shipping date 25th on: June 18, 2014, 05:08:06 PM
@philipma, don't forget to factor the Pi that's separate.

You still need a Pi for each of the RK-Boxes and a beefier PSU as well.

With the S3's power draw at 390W, you can get cheaper PSU's for each, or fit more S3's onto a large PSU.

Can't say the same for the Rk-box which could possibly be more than the hypothetical 480W stated.

Also, if you want the most hash possible, you know you'll be able to overclock the S3 if it's anything like the S1 (which it looks like by all accounts and specs).  So probably closer to 550 GH/s perhaps.

So let's say 5 TH/s for arguments sake for the 9 S-3's you gave in your example.

That blows the Rk-Box out of the water and out of the atmosphere at the same time.

yeah this S3 is a game changer
715  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 18, 2014, 05:06:24 PM
This makes me very happy, but why 4 PCI-E ports for such low power consumption?

Trev

in case you want to overclock
716  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] CoiningSolutions.com Dragon 1T $1699 shipped, as low as $1649 | Round 1 on: June 18, 2014, 04:46:26 PM
Hey Waldohoover pro-tip, just start up a Group Buy for the Antminer S3 instead.  Do a quantity of bajillion, and it'll sell 10 bajillion.   Wink

A-fuckin-men to that, screw lee's BS price.. Waldo you mentioned bitmain was more interested in next gen stuff.

Contact them ASAP for the S3, put together a 200-300+ unit groupbuy and it will sell out faster than anything
717  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: RK-BOX,450GH/S,480W ,shipping date 25th on: June 18, 2014, 04:39:05 PM
Rockminer you best get your sales whilst you can....Antminer S3 is coming and it's glorious!!!   Grin

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=656461.0

It's too late now

For Asicminer Gen 3/Rockminer perilously close, yup.

If Antminer S3 is priced at 1 BTC per unit, their 20% of the network hash rate could easily jump to 30% almost overnight with the group buys and retail sales these things will generate.

The S3 will sell like friggin hotcakes, no doubt, cornering the home/mid range miner and probably replace those Antminer S1 farms you see out in the wild.
I agree the RK-BOX is obsolete even before it is released. If Bitmain opens sales on Friday or Saturday the S3 will fly off the shelves. Asicminers only hope is that the S3 goes out of stock quickly.

Well it will need a big price drop to compete.

 480/450 =  1.07 watts a hash

390/500 =   .78 watts a hash

but  if the s-3 sells at 700 usd and the rk-box sells at 500usd      it will take a while for the power savings to make the s-3 the better gear.

some quick math .

   s-3      9 x 500gh = 4500gh     at 700 a pop      9 x 700 = 6300    watts 9 x 390 = 3510 watts

  rk-box  10 x 450 gh = 4500gh  at 500 a pop    10 x 500 = 5000     watts 10 x 480 = 4800 watts

the case above hash is equal     the rk=bx has a 1300 usd price advantage    the s-3 has  a 1300 watt advantage

1300 watts = 1.3 k watts    x 24 hours =   31 k watts  a day

at 20 cents that is   6.20 usd a day   so  it takes  200 days for the s-3 to be better if    power is 20 cents a k-watt.

at 15 cents that is  4.68 usd a day so it take  277 days for the s-3 to be better if power is 15 cents a k-watt.

at 10 cents that is    3.10 usd a day  so it take 400 days for the s-3 to be better if power is 10 cents a k-watt

so if the rk-box is 500 usd and the s-3 is 700 usd     you are better off with the rk-box.

right now I have seen the rk-box at 599 from minersource   and not seen a price for the  s-3 .

Frankly  the s-3 appears better but pricing will determine what to buy.

Of course if the rk box is crazy loud    or either one works shitty that will be a factor.

so I see that pricing is very important here.

nice math

thanks!

We can order Dragon 1T off lketc for 1599 shipped right now

Last S2 groupbuy was $1650 like a month ago. And right now after coupon it's $1700ish

Should be well under 1500 shipped for the many of ppl we have interested
