what i dont get is how all these smart people that work on other "second gen cryptos" dont look into nxt, see that it is far superior to the ones they are working on and move to nxt? why back any other horse when theres one clear winner in the long run? it makes no sense! you dont even need to be a programmer to see that nxt is going to far out do all the other 2nd gen coins! i could understand joe soaps backing the wrong one due to lack of research or other coins having better marketing but real crypto nerds have no excuse! i dont get it :L
The others look more familiar to what they know. People don't investigate the new, because it might hurt their current interests. They'll come

Hmmm, okay, that's a pity then about the nextcrypto.org site... We differ on the "that's also okay" part Of course it's all open source, everyone can design whatever they want and do whatever they wish. BUT: for the "official" (paid for by the community) branding we need uniformity and stick to it. Is nxt.org ours? If so, that would really need to be a top notch designed website (through and through). All other official advertising should be based on the the same style and color schemes. I also think that we should be tougher as to who receives what bounty and if they receive any bounty, we should also be allowed to change stuff and influence the look and feel. We are, after all, paying for it! I am a firm believer that if my guys and I do a good job, it will be adopted. We are doing at least two styles to appeal to different groups and circumstances. nxt.org is privately owned, so no, not ours. My strategy with the branding guys is a relatively small bounty (30,000) for the work, but they then hodl Nxt, which will give them a reason to keep developing. If not, we have all material and can work from that. Mind you, it needs to be a total package, or there will be no payment at all.

Damelon is working with a design bureau on a streamlined house style for NXT, see above.
I wasn't aware that he was designing the house style and new nxtcrypto.org website. We did have contact, but I thought he was designing stuff for himself Good to know! Hmmm... I wasn't aware he was redesigning the nxtcrypto.org site either. There have been many PM'ed notes that folks have liked it. It would be good for me to know if someone else will be taking over this site. Haha, I am nót taking over nxtcrypto.org! nxtcrypto is QBTC's/the communities' site. I am not the community, nor its spokesperson/marketeer. I ám working with a group of young designers to try and get a coordinated "brand" going. Everyone will have a repository they can freely take stuff from if they need it, so they can quickly make promo-material or set up a site that immediately says "Nxt". Everyone is equally free to disregard it. If the material we provide is good enough, people will use it (which I hope, because I wánt Nxt to be immediately recognised). If not, it will fail. Also, as you can see from my list, "brand" is more than just visuals. Visuals are supporting the brand, not the other way around. I hope that clears it up. Communication is hard At the moment, however, I'm just polling for our visions, goals, targets etc. It may be we have widely different views. This is also OK. I am at the moment pushing the guys forwards, while at the same time reserving the right to tell them we need to change gears and throw out the things they are making at the moment.

We have a bigger job than meta tags (although they are very important) to keep moving up the page ranks. Nxtcrypto.org is ahead of both forums and other NXT sites for a search of "nxt". The real thrill will come when we overtake the WWE NXT who have a larger, older and more entrenched community. We've come a long way, but the last few gains may be the most difficult.
I have some WWE fans that follow my Twitter stream. They must be completely confused Tried to do something similar over at nxtcrypto a week or two back, but no response, so great initiative, we need to start mapping this stuff.

Thanks!

Hey people, As you may know I am in contact with a group of people who are working on a complete branding for Nxt to help with the marketing. I have put together a questionnaire with some questions they have. I would like as much input on this as possible, so if you want to take the time and help me help them get a clearer picture, that would be great. There is no "right or wrong" in the questionnaire. If you want to keep your input off the forums, feel free to put it in a PM to me or email it to nxtcoinsNL@gmail.com. I will compile it and send it to them in a few days. I will also report it in the marketing thread. Thanks for your help! Post with questionnaire is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412243.msg5487600#msg5487600

Hi Marketing Folks, Can we get start a Social Marketing Swarm please? lyynx mentioned that he would like to meet some other nxters at a Nxt Meetup in the near future. Nxt should be active on www.meetup.com. Swarm needed. Who is updating and maintaining the Nxt Facebook page? Does Nxt have a Twitter account; who is updating Nxt Twitter account? I know these are centralized social media sites and Nxt can build their own Social Media Platforms, but for now; Facebook has 500 million potential Nxters. Other Social Media platforms need an immediate Nxt marketing ie Weibo (China Twitter) and WeChat (China Facebook) Other countries' Social Media platforms coverage? Let's Do Nxt Social Marketing Swarm. Where do we start and who can organize this Social Media Swarm? Do individual social media sharing contributions deserve small bounties from Marketing Fund? (Maybe 3-5 NXT per social media share?) Comments, answers, solutions? EDIT: Found the Real Nxt Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/nxtcrypto The OLD OUTDATED Nxt FB Page by northranger795 on nextcoin.org should be deleted. https://www.facebook.com/NXTCryptocurrency QBTC maintains the maind page, the main FB page and the main Twitter account. http://www.nxtcrypto.org/https://twitter.com/NxtCryptohttps://www.facebook.com/nxtcryptoI believe Uniqueorn is already heading a Swarm, but I don't know if this is social media aimed. Justabit also heads a swarm. Allwelder heads all Chinese social media and already has a big weibo community there. Meetup sounds like a nice idea. I just gave an Irish guy 500 Nxt to spread at his local Bitcoin meetup: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,4272.0.htmlSeemed like a good investment, which hopefully brings a few people in.

Right, to include everyone in this: I would like some extra input from all of you, so I can forward it to my guys. They are simple questions, but with big implications. There is no "right or wrong" in these questions! What is, in a few sentences, the "vision" behind Nxt?I'm not looking for the right vison, but for what youthink is the vision. We don't need to agree, but we dó need it out in the open for now. What is the purpose of Nxt? Again, no right or wrong. What are the goals of Nxt?Same Where are we now?So, basically, at what stage do you think we are at? I'm not looking for a good/bad judgement here. Just an honest appraisal of where we are. What are the key issues with Nxt at this point? This will no doubt be connected with your earlier answers. Define a few key issues that really need to be addressed. Be honest! What are our key target groups? Define at most three.Keep it short. We could talk about this for hours, but I just want a short easy list. What are the current strategies to engage these groups? Name at most three.Strategies are conceptual. "Reach out to the main public" Show that Nxt is funName a few of the employed tactics in these strategies.A tactic is an action you take to execute the strategy. "Organise an online show match" "Get articles published in big newspapers/sites"What strategies and tactics aren't we using and cóuld be used? One of the first things my people told me is that these aren't explicit. We need to get them explicit. That way, we know what we are talking about. We don't need to agree, but we dó need to be clear. I will post this over on the forums, too. Please take some time to fill it out, so a) we ourselves define these and b) my guys don't have to come up with something that really isn't what we want, but we can't tell them why. Have fun, and thanks for your input!

Nothing against salsacz at all. He is from what I can tell very professional and gets things done. Its just my opinion the direction is pointed the wrong way and like bitcoinpaul said we need vision. A big picture type vision.
I hope people like brooklyn gets on the committee. Salsacz is getting things done, yes. But now, we need more! Emule likes what I said. I guess this means a 30 day ban from this thread for me. See you guys in April.
Thanks for the endorsements, but it doesnt look like I have much of a chance. My name spelled wrong on the ballot isn't helping either.. I think Salsacz, and Damelon have done great work. Allwelder seems to have a strong connection to the Chinese market so thats important, and we all know joefox has done a lot with his interviews and the wiki. I guess one thing I'd like to add for my platform, is that I strongly believe all marketing committee members should not be able to "fund themselves" or their own projects. I'd want them to create ideas, and have the backing, but the holding the bag and deciding where you spend it is scary for a community group like this. I do want people to know that in the past two weeks I have been very active with the NXTopia project, and suggesting marketing ideas for NMAC, so my efforts are still deeply committed to NXT, just maybe from the "private sector" I will be coming to the marketing committee for some funds for the April BTC conventions in NYC, and maybe these private sector projects as well LONG ON NXT I agree with this 100%. I have already said that íf I would have any plans (which I may) that would require funding, I would nót discuss or vote on them. It's a choice I have made, and it may also mean that some projects may not even be possible to bring before the committee. So be it. Also, the mandate for the committees is mainly for approval for plans brought before them, which máy extend to offering ideas for people to bring forward. Basically, they are just people who demand plans and financial underpinning, before releasing funds. This has already been voted upon. I dó think that it would be in the remit of the committees to make it very well known that the funds are there for people to use! But mainly they are there to check and discuss and then decide. We already decided that the mandate did not extend to becoming centralised committees that "steer" Nxt. On vision: I think most of us would agree on that. I would put "communication" even higher. I am quite sure that all of us have "vision", but we don't téll each other, which means people are not working together as well as they could.

Awesomee so 30 days and it will be live?? is that the agreed release date? oh 3rd of april to go along with the full release of source code right? nice job! No no. in 30 Days, CfB has no job I deleted the counter until we have an ETA. Then make a CfB Farewell Party counter intstead

allw: it works, they really sent 3 Nxt. But they also sent 3 informational emails about releasing new giveaways.
I'm not surprised! That's 10 cents they pay to get an email address. Rather a good deal. I also notice they don't have a privacy notice on the site, so they probably sell them on.

damn: so only colors? the 2 guys having sex a and a mobile phone pictures (top right pictures) from the lowest part have got little ugly color, others are nice
At this moment we're just looking at colours.

Glad I woke up in the middle of the night!

First mock-up of a colour scheme from my guys. Just the colours are important, it's not a site We're also working on a different red/yellow/white one, but this one is supposed to be for more business aimed uses:

whole wiki for February
I would say check with joefox. He can give a better opinion on how much work was put in. I translate the wiki myself, so I am bound to be biased We have the statistics... but since it is for 20 languages, this job will be always very underpaid What I mean is this: the articles left for, for instance, Dutch are mainly code. At least a lot of them are. This means mainly C/P, which takes time, but not a lot of translation. However, there are also articles that require "true" translation. joefox can probably see which ones these are and tell you. I can't and you can't see from the stats. The bounty last month was 50,000. Don't know if we can keep that up, but the amount of work will go down, now that a lot has been translated. Might be a good idea to at least keep it a bit in line with fair payment. That doesn't mean it needs to be overpaid, but it would be nice for most to actually get some true amounts of Nxt out of it. tl;dr: check with joefox, please

It's good to see we're in "the list" now, however. No more "scam", and that's thanks to everyone's work over the last three-four months
