701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Manipulation / ETF's on: January 05, 2024, 10:08:55 PM
My theory was that BTC was too susceptible to manipulation to issue an ETF yet.  Apparently I'm wrong, which is understandable, because I make beer for a living...
What you mean is that bitcoin price is more volatile to United States spot ETF news. I can remember the news took the price from $24800 to over $40000 now. But just yesterday that we read a news about the possibility that United States SEC may reject the application, bitcoin fall from over $45000 to $40200 until it increased back. That is not manipulation. It is because people having bitcoin are buying when the news is positive and selling when the news is negative. It is people and no just a single person or few people that are buying or selling that makes the price of bitcoin to be much volatile as it increased or decreased. Bitcoin marketcap is over $860 billion, that is more than what that can be used to manipulate bitcoin price.
702  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ESSENTIALLY SIMPLE TRADING FACTORS THAT EVERY TRADER SHOULD CONSIDER on: January 05, 2024, 05:53:55 PM
1. DISCIPLINE

You would definitely needing this:

Discipline on when to take a profit
Discipline on when to hold your position
Discipline on handling or managing your trading capital
Discipline on sticking into your plans

Discipline on when to take a profit and discipline on when to hold your position is contradictory. Anyone that is trading will understand this.

Assuming you are making little amount of money already and you close the trade. Is that discipline when you think you still need to hold your position? But what if the analysis points towards your direction and you supposed to make more money if you hold your position instead. What if you decided to wait and hold your position but the market go against your direction and you start to lose. Trading is complicated.

The discipline that I know that are most important in trading is to stick to your plan and also to be able to manage your trading capital. The third is to not risk too much but to risk just little amount of money to trade. Some traders are unable to stay on the track to be discipline this way. They will open a trade, they will not know when they will increase the leverage and also increasing their trading capital. After several losses, they will start blaming themselves and not know when they started not to follow the discipline path.

I have noticed one thing in trading, that discipline starts from how you manage your money. If you are not able to manage it well, likely you will not become a good trader.
703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble on Bitcoin ETF approval results? on: January 05, 2024, 12:04:40 PM
Surely, I believe some gamblers would consider betting on the bitcoin ETF if the odds are good.
I can not waste my time on what I do not know when it is going to be approved. SEC has let people know that it is going to be approved but SEC do not let anyone know if the approval day is near or some months from now. There are games I can play and see the result almost immediately, I will prefer to go for that kind of games than wasting my time on bitcoin spot ETF approval.
704  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ESSENTIALLY SIMPLE TRADING FACTORS THAT EVERY TRADER SHOULD CONSIDER on: January 05, 2024, 11:42:19 AM
I want to talk about the confidence part. Do you know that you can have confidence and the confidence will fail you. An instance is when you have the confidence, you analyzed the market and open a trade. After the trade was opened, the market go another side and loss started and continued until liquidation. There are more to trading than what you listed. It is not what you can use a day to learn. You need to know how to control your emotion and not using leverage. The money you put on trading, see it as the money you put on gambling. Let the money be very small and be able to afford to lose it.
705  Economy / Speculation / Re: will the btc price reach 100k ? on: January 04, 2024, 01:56:05 PM
Bitcoin's exchange price cannot be predicted.
If bitcoin ETF is approved or not, the price will certainly get to $100000 in either this year or next year.
Those are all still assumptions; we can never be too certain about when the bitcoin price will hit $100,000. Saying this year or next year means you are also not sure about when that will happen, which is just the same thing as what @apogio is saying.
If you want me to agree with what you are saying, let us bet $100 each and see what would happen. If bitcoin did not get to $100000, then you will have the money. But if bitcoin get to $100, in 2024/2025, then I will get the $100. I have analysed the market and my confidence is high about this. If you are ready, let me know so that we can put the coin worth of $100 on a 2 of 2 multisig or 2 of 3 multisig. Like I said, bitcoin will get to $100000 in 2024/2025.
706  Economy / Speculation / Re: will the btc price reach 100k ? on: January 04, 2024, 12:36:43 PM
Bitcoin's exchange price cannot be predicted.
If bitcoin ETF is approved or not, the price will certainly get to $100000 in either this year or next year.

However bitcoin's value can be appreciated and will never change. Bitcoin is valuable for various reasons (PoW, limited supply, max supply cap etc).
Which is the reason we are certain that bitcoin will get to all-time-high and also get to $100000. Bitcoin price is not like fiat that will devalue but its price will increase after a long time. Bitcoin price is not easy to predict in short term, but in long term, it is very predictable and not disappointing.
707  Other / Meta / Re: Two Same Topic in Gambling Discussion section on: January 04, 2024, 11:20:15 AM
They are different in my POV, one is a prediction thread and the other is a discussion thread. But you have a point the same on other comments on the new thread. Yet, i doubt the other one will be trashed/locked, its been there for months already and probably it was reported many times already.
They are just the same thing. The first that was created was a prediction thread. If you check what is discussed on the prediction thread, it is distinct that the thread is about prediction and discussion about English Premier League. There was no need to created the second thread which is the discussion thread. I remember when I was posting very well on those threads, I only use the prediction thread which was created by Trofo and left all other ones because I do not want to repeat myself.
708  Other / Meta / Why was the gambling risk warning removed? on: January 04, 2024, 08:35:49 AM
Hello Sir @ Cyrus, hilariousandco

On the first or second of January 2024, I saw a gambling risk warning on the gambling boards which was about how gambling is risky and how people should gamble responsibly. I said to myself that this is good and an improvement to the gambling boards. But when I was reading some gambling posts as I am not yet ready to post anything, I want to read the warning again but I did not see it. Why is the warning removed?

709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: January 03, 2024, 03:41:38 PM
It's better to focus on how to win and be positive for it helps to see better choices while you are already in a situation.
I do not agree with this. I am gambling and I have friends that are gambling. We focus on winning and we gamble often but we lose more. The more most gamblers focus on winning, the more the house will earn money from them. We have advised ourselves not to use money that can affect our feelings to gamble which is the right advise. That advice alone is because we also focus on the fact that we are losing.
710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the tension make you take risk that are sometimes worth it? on: January 03, 2024, 03:17:59 PM
I think for that problem quite depends on how the gambler's point of view, in my opinion all gamblers will never be able to lie to themselves about what they feel, simply put if they win then obviously their feelings will definitely be happy and if on the contrary if they lose then of course even though they always say gambling is just for fun but I'm sure at least there will definitely be a feeling of annoyance with a little disappointment because the final result turns out to lose again.
Not all gamblers. These are gamblers that are risking too much money. If you use small amount of money to be gambling, you will be losing and still be happy and not sad nor tensed.

Gambling under pressure is not a healthy practice because when you gamble under pressure, you can make wrong decisions that will lead to a big loss, and the only way one can gamble under pressure is when that gambler is chasing his loss. It might work for you, doesn't mean it worked, it was just that you were lucky to win while you were chasing your loss.
Some gamblers may be losing and continue gambling and gain the money back, that is because they are just lucky because the time a gambler is chasing loss is when they are most vulnerable to lose more. It is not good to chase losses when gambling.
711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: January 03, 2024, 03:12:03 PM
I have different point of view tbh, I will not focus on how much I may lose as well as the potential win but I'll focus more on how to manage my money.
Too much focus on how much you may lose will not good as it will bring negative mindset mindset and can be something stressful for some people.
If you focus on how much you will lose, that means you will focus on how to manage your money that you are using to gamble, having gambling budget and not using more than what you can afford to lose. So this makes me not to completely agrees with you. It is good to focus on how you can lose for you not to fall victim of gambling loss.
712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gaming promotions to earn actual money on: January 03, 2024, 11:31:58 AM
Sometimes I do wonder why it is very difficult to win with money intended for promotions. I have received promo bonuses on several occasions but end up losing them.
It is called promotional offer but which is given to many people which have to compete a task before they can withdraw the amount won. The task makes the money given to many people to reduce because most people will eventually lose the money to gambling. The benefit is that gambling sites are using it to make more people know their site, but in a way that what is used to attract the people which is bonus will not be withdrawn by almost everyone attracted through the bonus and the site will not lose more in the process.

The only time I was able to meet the withdrawal condition from a bonus was when I joined a certain platform and they gave me 100% deposit bonus and I was able to meet the wagering condition and withdrew a decent amountut of winning. I actually was not too desperate in this particular one because my past experience with bonuses made me not put hope. Maybe this was why I won with the bonus.
I can remember that I have used deposit bonus to win before. Also I have used it before and I lost. The last that I remember was to win 3x and I won it and withdraw the money. But the requirements to be able to claim the bonus at times on some gambling site is enough to discourage people because winning the bonus or using the bonus to win will be almost not possible.
713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How possible is it to win lottery 14 times using mathematics calculations on: January 03, 2024, 07:42:35 AM
I think the guy is not saying all the facts that transpires, and this sounds like a cook-up story and should be discarded.

The first question that comes to mind is, what is the possibility of using a mathematical calculator to calculate and pick the right lucky tickets for 14 consecutive times?
Even the best mathematicians can not win a lottery like this. They can not win more while gambling.

Secondly, if it happens how can we be sure that the games are not ringed just as Yahoo said, it is impossible to have that result if the selection process is not rigged, so much is not clear with the whole thing and for that, we will treat this as some form of entertainment since it can't happen in reality as per se.
It can be a lie. If it is not a lie, the games were rigged. If not rigged, it is not possible but a lie.
714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 02, 2024, 09:17:40 PM
My wife doesn't know about my hobby.
Sometimes I like to play poker, and even the thought of this activity gives me anti-stress and pleasant anticipation. But I’m very afraid to tell my wife about this, and I only have the poker app on my phone, and it’s password-protected from her. I am sure that I will not be understood. I work 24/7 and I need to relax, but how can I explain this to my wife or her relatives? They will say that I'm losing the family budget, but I don't spend more than $20 per session, and for me that's not that much money. But I am very relaxed.

I think someday I will confess to my beloved that I am passionate about gambling, but it’s unlikely in the near future.
If you are the bread winner of the family, why are you afraid to tell your wife that you are gambling? But if you think that it keeping your relationship good by not telling her, then do not tell her. It is not about the amount of money that you spend on gambling that people will know that the amount is small, it is until they also know what you are earning in ratio to what you are spending on gambling. If you earn like $1000 monthly and spending just $20 on gambling, that is still good.
715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Single or accumulation, which one do you prefer when it comes to sport betting on: January 02, 2024, 07:51:05 PM
I do agree that accumulation is the better one. I just feel like it is a lot more fun to have that kind of odds, we are talking about very very low chance to win, like 10% or lesser, and that makes it more fun for me because you do not have to win each one, you just need to win a certain amount and you make a profit.
Accumulation is the better one? I will say no that it depends. If you want to gamble with very small amount of money, you can go for accumulate and be expecting loss. If you want to gamble with higher amount but also it should not be high amount of money but small, but in a way bigger than the one you used for accumulation, you should go for single bet. Single bet is better though but not that better than accumulating like 2 to 3 matches, but if the accumulation is getting longer, accumulated bet is not better at all in this regard.
716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich, average or poor. Who loses more? on: January 02, 2024, 07:13:06 PM
It is true that the average poor person is more affected by gambling and it is basically as a poor person to increase the possibility of luck will change them to get big opportunities, which can change their lives in an instant, especially in the lottery, although it is unlikely that they will try their luck with that kind of thing even though losing is a common habit.

I myself think that it's not that someone who uses bigger money can get more chances of winning than someone who uses smaller money but the fact of the matter is that 100x at $100 and $1000 is different.
Have you seen people that use low odd which encourage them to use higher amount of money to gamble? That is how it is. If you use low odd, you will have more chance to win but because of the high amount of money used, a single loss would be a huge blow that will make the person to be losing than several games won. Be it rich, average or poor, anyone among them can lose more. If anyone do not want to lose in gambling, they should gamble responsibly with small amount of money that they can afford to lose.

There was an exploit in Metamask or something, every website was vulnerable and also issue with a Hardware Wallet so that maybe the reason why this number went up so high.
The reasons this went up so high can be seen on one of the images that I posted before. This image:

I am sure those who had money in exchanges like Coinbase, Binance, Kraken are safe from all this bullshit of web3.
Those scammed are altcoins users. If they are using bitcoin, something like that may not happen to them but they like to use shit coins. Holding on exchanges have its own risks. Not your key not your coins.
718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why are casinos adding sportsbook on their platform? on: January 02, 2024, 02:27:11 PM
I noticed this too when I visited gambling sites that are known as casino-only platforms. I guess they realized they could use more of their system through sports books or they think it's a waste of hardware if they are only running casino games.
If casinos begin to be providing sport bet, they may have to employ more workers and also increase hardware and other things required. Do not forget that casinos and sport betting are not the same and need different approaches. The reason some start as a casino is because they do not have enough money to become both casino and a bookmaker, but as they start with one, they will be able to fund the other which they will later also established as they make money. So it is not about waste of hardware or waste of anything, they need more hardware and some other things before they will begin sport betting.

The key is to steer clear of websites with annoying ads and avoid linking your main wallet to unfamiliar sites. The incidence of phishing scams is likely to rise as more newcomers enter the crypto space without adequate knowledge of how to safeguard their assets.
The main thing is to know what this scam is and also having general know about scam. Phishing scam can be easily known and can be easily avoided. But you are also correct, it is very important for us to disable ads on our browsers, not sharing our emails anyhow and know how email phishing and others also are. As you can see, this type of scam is increasing almost every month, scammers are seeing it that people are falling victim for it and this will attract more online bad people to use it to scam.

I posted recently about how MS Drainers scammers used Google ads to steal $59 million from 63000 people in 9 months, according to a report. What I saw today even surprised me more about how people do not care about how to avoid scammers and hackers.

You can easily understand what I am saying from the news title: Scam Sniffer 2023: Crypto Phishing Scams Drain $300 Million from 320,000 Users

Theft stat

Notable Wallet Drainers

How do they initiate phishing activities?

On the former thread, we only talked about MS drainers. There are other ones. They use their Google and X ads which was formerly called Twitter to get through their victims that they drain their wallets. Other social media or means are also used.

Phishing sites are increasing day by day. You can see that from this chart:

I was thinking people will be able to know about phishing scam. We talked very well on them on this forum. But there are still many people that do not want to look for ways to protect their wallets and giving way for wallet drainers to steal their coins and tokens.

There are still more to know about them, read full on https://drops.scamsniffer.io/post/scam-sniffer-2023-crypto-phishing-scams-drain-300-million-from-320000-users/
