701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What ugly incident or occurrence have you ever experienced in gambling? on: January 13, 2024, 01:40:47 AM
Hehehe – sorry for the laughter.  Grin

Lol 😂, the expression on the video is quite laughable but it not a mockery.
Dramatic and hilarious as the video may seem it is a painful experience. Myself I almost got tempted to laugh at first but then I just got the tickle inside that this is no joke.

That's really so unlucky that you can see in front of your eyes the amount that can help you in many ways. I can't really help but laugh at their reaction, I don't know the language but seems like they are frustrated

I actually felt their frustration too in that video. Just like Lida93 said, that guy might have been gambling for a long time and losing money, but that day was actually when his luck was supposed to overflow, but his phone messed up the chance for him. In this kind of situation, they say opportunity only comes once. It might actually take a long time before he can see this kind of opportunity again.
What a frustration indeed!

Opportunities like this are rare and it's mostly likely that before he can get it again he would have made numerous losses overtime considering how this crash game is being designed.

He definitely would have gotten a new phone if he had been able to get that cash out.
You might be right about this, because I can vividly remember a close friend who won some good amount of bet and the first item he bought was a laptop. According to him, his old laptop has been misbehaving in function and since he gambles more often online using a laptop that was what he thought necessary to purchase before any other thing.

So bringing this back to the case of Op it could be that young man didn't had the money yet to either repair or get himself a new phone and his hope is on a win he can make from his gambling which unfortunately for him this ugly experience had to betide him.

From what I get as a take home here is that we shouldn't depend on gambling for a real source of income or making money so we don't cast our hopes on items we need to get in our daily living to be gotten only when we get lucky to make a win from the bets we make. It's a wrong mentality to go with.
702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What ugly incident or occurrence have you ever experienced in gambling? on: January 12, 2024, 02:23:03 PM
That was so sad to watch can't imagine what will be running through that gambler's head at that moment. Could be he has been trying his luck long before this sad event and at the time the wheel of fortune found him his phone became an obstacle to that putative life changing win amount.

Lesson learned: Making use of gadgets that's are in good working conditions should be what every gambler shouldn't take for granted as a malfunction we are managing from our gadget can cost us that money we have been spending time and energy chasing after as gamblers. I have not had such experience or any related to it and I pray my stars  never to have it. If you're not emotional strong enough such nature of loss can cause you depression.
703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A brief advice for the newbie gamblers. on: January 12, 2024, 02:08:40 PM
We countlessly experiences new gamblers on daily basis in the gambling boards. Not just in this platform of
a mere gambling discussion but in a reality of gambling. So briefly, I call to your attentions the newbie gamblers to be aware that>>>
"Responsible gambling is cordially adhered by your audible alertness to realize that temptations as irresponsible gambling is inspired by your desperacies of making profits or recovering your losts".

Fellow experienced gamblers, your brief contributions would also be valuable.
Op please when next consider those of us that may not come from an English speaking country, your vocabulary can impede our understanding to your message  Grin .

Seriously, newbies should be careful with gambling don't be moved to gamble because you hear or see someone else made a huge win from it and for that you are motivated to start gambling, you don't know what that person might have passed through the losses, the temptations of loss chasing and addiction. No body will tell you all of that rather what we mostly hear and talking about is the profits that comes with the winnings made.

As a newbie stay in check by constantly reminding your beautiful self that gambling isn't a means to get rich. Gamble with money that won't affect your emotions if lost to the game and don't ever wallow in that deception that you can wreck the house by chasing after a big win as the end there of is destruction to your own self.
Stay safe and gamble responsibly!
704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit decay on: January 12, 2024, 10:20:53 AM
But the question arise, does S'merit actually disappear/decay?  I'll love to get a feedback from someone that had experienced it.
Am still a beginner who doesn't know much about merit decay but when Ever I want to send merit to someone, I usualy see a warning of merit decay on the merit sending Dash board. check this below the second to the last line, it is written that they have the right to decay unused merit, there is no point hording Smerit. Keeping it does not benefits you, and they deserve to decay unused merit in the future. Meaning its possible. Just that I doubt if people have left their sendible merit to see if actually this warning works.

And that's what am inquisitive to know if under such circumstance by virtue of the reserved right by the forum admin if the decay has been experienced by any member of the forum at any point in time due to hoarding or the user not sending it out let say for a few months. And, maybe those users that left the forum stayed away for a very long time to focus on other challenging affairs of life and, later returned back to the forum to take off from where they stopped. They are in my opinion the right people to tell us if actually any S'merits they left behind got decade during the period of their absence or not.
705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does signing up with affiliate links gives these benefits? on: January 12, 2024, 07:35:28 AM
Many youtubers and friends share their referral codes/affiliate links, saying you will get bonuses, real money, or free spins. but I wonder if casinos give extra help or benefits in some different situations.

For example, when someone wins a big multiplier and multiplies their account by 100x, then some casinos take a long time to process the withdrawal, or they may not even give the money. however, some say that if you sign up using a good affiliate or influencer affiliate code which have huge audience, then you won't face these type issues. also, if you promote the casino using your referral link, they might not hold back your withdrawal because you helped them get new customers.

is this kind of things is considered shady practice, or is it considered fair in the online gambling world?
They likely have a deal or contract with benefits outlined in the agreement. For instance some YouTubers have such deals, while others do not. Consider this example: If you're aware that you can't negotiate a deal with a casino but can still earn by inviting users, why not take the initiative instead of waiting for a contract?

If we referring to the Youtuber with contract it's not necessarily shady but it's important to follow the rules and use formal agreements for fairness and transparency.
As a user who is interested in making use of this influencers referral link's due to the benefits attached to the use of their links it is most safer to make use of those that have a contractual deal with the casino by the deal it means they are officially recognized and any complaints reaching the casino from a customer that is linked to them will be giving an urgent and preferential attention  subject to the contract policy with their online-influencer,

however, the biggest risk lies mainly on the use of referral link's of those influencers that only took the initiative just to make their own cut through any customer/user that may make use of their links, the underlying fact is that the casino can easily deny you or the influencer as an impostor and there's no evidence to counter such disclaimer against you by the casino unlikely when you pass through an official contractual influencer.
706  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: South Africa sueing Isreal for genocide on Gaza , any gain for Africa on: January 11, 2024, 05:25:24 PM
Op I can relate to the angle you're coming from but you see in today's world things don't work in that way you're trying to portray that is why the world is referred to as a global village, what affects one affects all especially as member's of the United Nation's Organization, and it is under that umbrella that the South Africa's Minister of justice Ronald Lamola and his counterpart the South Africa's Ambassador to the Netherlands are suing Isreal for breaching the UN genocide Convention of 1948.

And are by that convention demanding that Isreal should suspend their military attacks on Gaza. You can get more information here using this link https://www.theafricareport.com/333163/south-africa-accuses-israel-at-un-court-of-gaza-genocide/

Anthony Martial the player of Macshter United had some offers from teams like Fenerbahçe, and Marseille and some Saudi terms but this French payer rejected all the offers to stay in Manchester unted.
Manchester United has not been interested in keeping Anthony Martial for a long time and they prefer to put this player or even let him join any other teams but this player is going to be a problem for Manchester United since he doesn't want to leave the team.

I don't understand what's going through Martial's head.... This "striker" isn't able to play for the Manchester United team, he isn't even able to get on the field and on several occasions he hasn't made a point of hiding his dissatisfaction with this situation. In addition to several physical problems, Martial is having a terrible performance on the field... he is unable to maintain a sequence of games.

It is notable that Manchester hoped to negotiate with other teams and proactively sought out several interested parties, but why did Martial refuse!?!?!?
I learned that Fenerbahçe had made a very generous offer.
It's very surprising to see that a player will reject such generous offers from a team like Fenerbache where he's confident of seeing a first team shirt to play in all games both in the Turkish league and the Champions league just to stay back in a club he is scarcely played in matches or sent into a game in the 70th minutes of play. I suspect there's more to this to Martial's decision that we are not privy to, or perhaps the French forward is not comfortable with the Turkish weather hence his rejection of the offer to continue his stay in Manchester united.

709  Economy / Economics / Re: How to stay poor! on: January 11, 2024, 09:46:19 AM
As a businessman or salary earners here are tips on how to stay poor in life. Grin

1. Spending your money on unnecessary items immediately the money arrives. Trying to prove a point to people by living a standard that is above your pay grade.

2. Live on one source of income. Everyday of our life our responsibilities and challenges keeps piling up accumulating without consideration to our financial capability. The economy and cost of living continue getting worsen. So in order not to be able to beat this piling settle comfortably on a single source of income flow.

3. Become an extremely cheerful giver/lender to friends and family. A wisdom quote I read somewhere said, "if you want to lose your friends and family lend them money".  Keeping doing this and you going to be successfully poor.

4.Learn how not to mind your own business, making every events around you your concern even when it doesn't affect you. It's a nice way to make cool enemies. Etc.

I trust you all get the sarcasm as conveyed.

I don't know what your purpose is, and you created this topic. I don't get the sense of the discussion you created, dude.
Hey mate, if you don't get the purpose and sense of the topic maybe you have to go through again to get the sarcasm.  The sense in there is that doing all as written in the op will definitely make you poor but if you don't want to be poor it is expected that with all efforts you live your life in the opposite of all in the Op.

Quote
Do you think that some of the communities here want to remain poor in their situation in their lives?
There is no one in this community or outside at all that wants to be or remain poor, even as that, there is a role you will have to play if you want to be and stay rich. Living rich is not by the desire of it but by taking necessary modelled actions to becoming rich.

Quote
Are you the OP wanting to be tied down by being poor?
Obviously, No I don't want to be tied down being poor and that's why am taking the decisive and necessary steps daily to being rich and staying rich too.

Quote
because if you say yes, why don't you do all the things you said here? I can't even tell if what you're saying is a tip, because it seems to me that you're just teasing the other communities here who are still struggling in their lives. Is that your only purpose for doing this?
My answer is "No" and still remains no. Am sorry if that's how you view it but it's actually a tip and not in anyway to tease anyone if you get the sarcasm just as I explicitly said it in the end of the op.
Thank you.

Pochetino Sack News: https://footballwave.com.ng/2024/01/10/after-a-premier-league-loss-to-a-championship-team-yesterday-one-of-the-top-four-english-managers-was-fired-today/?fbclid=IwAR0qaz-SEPsQIh34LoCePzub-pdbBviVjIPZM7I_1VVrwmbHMub8djLr1V4
If this news about the sack of Pochetino is true according to, then it's really a sad one for Chelsea even though some fans wouldn't agree with this as a sad news. Chelsea ought to have giving him time because that's what the team needs to improve, no coach will come into an overhauled club with entirely new players except for Silva and start doing magic with the team. Perhaps yes or perhaps not maybe this decision could bring in a different performance to the team based on the personality of the new coach that will be filling the space.

In my opinion, it will be wise and welcoming if the Chelsea management can bring in Antonio Conte to manage this Chelsea team. He Conte has been in the club previously and knows much about Chelsea's style of play and with his professionalism I feel he will be one of the best man to manage and bring back the fire to this soft and dull current Chelsea squad.
711  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Does Bitcoin need advertisment? on: January 10, 2024, 11:52:48 AM
Though, I have also come to noticed that most people feel that Bitcoin don't need advertisment, but they neglect the fact that adoption won't get to rural areas where illiteracy is common, or is Bitcoin not meant for the uneducated?.
I think people in rural areas do not need to adopt bitcoin even if they know about it. In the rural areas, what they need is access to financial services. They need banks. Banks that are close to them and if they cannot get that banks then banks need mobile money operatives that are representatives of these banks. Plenty people in the rural areas are unbanked. I think that banking the unbanked through a seamless process is the first thing to do and not the adoption of bitcoin. Adoption should be for the people in the urban areas.
You have spoken well mate, rural adoption of bitcoin is at this time not of necessity as it is with the urbanized areas. A great number of the population in the rural areas have no idea about how to use the traditional banking system how much more being able to adapt to the bitcoin blockchain technology, it would be like doing the right thing at the wrong time and place.

The traditional system actually us a corrupt ground for centralized authority manipulation and surveillance however if those in rural area can begin from there it will be an eye opener for them when they later get introduced to bitcoin they will easy dissect the difference for themselves without much difficulties as it relates to understanding the usefulness and benefits of bitcoin.

713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Long-term profitable strategies on: January 10, 2024, 08:53:19 AM
There's no long term profitable strategy in gambling, your risk management strategy is the only long term strategy that can be maintained to make sure you don't run into huge losses within a short period. Any grounded gambler will agree that every strategy pulled is just to reduce the possibility of making much losses while increasing the chances of getting a win and not that it's a strategy that's assured of being capable of producing a long term profit. If any strategy is worth taking into consideration in making profit from gambling then risk management is that strategy encompassing every other strategy we can give. In other words, just be a good risk manager and you're good to go.
714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 10, 2024, 08:10:30 AM
Timo Werner is going to Tottenham Hotspur. He leaves Germany and gets a chance until the end of the season. If he does well, Tottenham have an option to buy him for around 15 - 20 million euros. Timo Werner has already been in the Premier League, at Chelsea FC for two years 2020-2022. He hasnt play well in this years and returned to RB Leipzig. Now a new chance and I think he will do better.

https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial/status/1744797039194419450
As I discussed a few days ago, Timo Werner is finally officially wearing the Spurs jersey and I am very happy to see him return to the EPL. Spurs really need a good striker to cover the remainder of this season and are also targeting the Champions League zone for next season. As we know, since being left by Harry Kane, Spurs' focus has only been focused on Son Heung Min and I think that alone is not enough if you want to get consistent results. Therefore, the signing of Timo Werner could be the answer to this problem. Richarlison is also not that good and I think he is still lacking as Spurs' main striker.
Timo Werner is a fine addiction to the Tottenham team although while at Chelsea then he was known for missing clear goal chances but I should believe by now he must have improved in that area of weakness as he's coming back to the EPL, it's an opportunity for him to prove his haters wrong as he plays for Spurs this remaining season. Playing under the management of Klopp sure he will fit into the team's playing pattern and give the proficient results expected of him by the Spurs fans as he doesn't have to perform exactly as Harry Kane did at Spur.
Timo welcome back to the EPL!

Quote
As for the purchase option, I think the cost is quite cheap for Timo Werner and it is only natural that the cost is not that expensive considering that during this season he has rarely been played by Leipzig. But if at Spurs his performance improves then that will be additional value for Timo Werner, especially since he is at a mature age for a striker. Wink
The price option for sure is weigh cheap considering how much Chelsea had to sign him at £65k  and now he's being brought back to the EPL from RB Leipzig at an option price of £15k. It's a win win for the Spurs as the price is not bad at all.
715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking! Bitcoin ETF approved by SEC. on: January 10, 2024, 07:00:14 AM
fake news
above

gensler just mentioned the announcement tweet was fake

https://twitter.com/GaryGensler/status/1744833049064288387
The @SECGov
twitter account was compromised, and an unauthorized tweet was posted. The SEC has not approved the listing and trading of spot bitcoin exchange-traded products.
Isn't this weird and manipulative from within the SEC itself and another gimmick pulled to further the delay of the spot bitcoin ETF approval as all expectations has soared that it will be approved anytime this week.

Just Jameson Loop ironically questioned, If the SEC can't guarantee the security of their official X account from compromise what is the investors guarantee of being protected from vicious actors in the market when the ETF eventually received official authentic approval.

I think the SEC needs to conduct a thorough investigation to fish out anyone behind the fake release of the ETF approval news to allay the fears of the public in questioning their guaranteed security, and also the action if taken may likely dissolve the suspicion from the public about the SEC intentionally pulling this show.
716  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit decay on: January 09, 2024, 10:01:07 PM
I've got to find out that there are some profiles that have received whole lots of merits but some of those profiles don't circulate their sendable merits to others profiles thereby allowing the sendable merits to decay and become worthless.
How did you check it? if you only check by clicking their merit history, it's not accurate because the forum only show last 120 days activity. Moreover it's the user's right whether he want to spend his sMerit or not, there's no obligation sMerit must be spend.
It is the user's right quite alright but it doesn't make a sense as there's no logical deduction in deciding to hold on to such right. Before a user got an S'merit some other user merited his post he/she find worth meriting and assuming all forum users walk with such mentality of hoarding S'merits how would you have gotten any S'merit not to then talk of hoarding it.

For a user deciding not to spend his S'merits on a post at all in the forum is indirectly creating the impression that such user  don't see any post worth of quality that deserves  meriting of all the thousands of posts found daily in the forum and a decay is much satisfying. But the question arise, does S'merit actually disappear/decay?  I'll love to get a feedback from someone that had experienced it.
717  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 09, 2024, 09:13:31 PM
So I want to ask, between the gambling addict and his immediate family, who does the addiction affect the most?
It is said that a mad man have no shame for his attitudes and behaviors on the streets, for it is his family and relatives that feel and bears the shame. It is synonymous with a gambling addict, they are addicted to gambling and therefore they don't see any misbehavior in gratifying their gambling pleasure as a problem or of any consequences.

Not that the gambling addict doesn't get affected by the actions of his/her addiction but just that the addiction makes them to be carefree and untroubled about the effect. It is worst if the addict is a parent with children under their care, for the effect of the addiction will definitely have a traumatic and psychological effect on the children all their lifetime because as children they don't have that matured mindset to deal with the condition from someone which they ought to look up to as a role model.
718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 09, 2024, 01:48:14 PM
Today there are rumors that are still hard to believe because Kylian Mbappe is willing to join Real Madrid in the summer. Maybe there are still many of us who don't believe that this rumor is true, but considering that the person who reported it was one of the credible journalists from France, namely Santi Aouna, then this is true. Some people also think that Santi Aouna's report was quite influential regarding Kylian Mbappe's survival last season at PSG so that people started to worry that the news reported by Santi Aouna would really happen in the summer.

Now it's still not clear to see and everyone is still waiting for "Here we go" from Fabrizio Romano and I think that also makes perfect sense considering that only he can be used as a benchmark for a successful transfer. But let's just see, if Santi Aouna's report is corroborated by Fabrizio Romano, we will definitely see the results this summer.
I also read this news published by one of the local media which was taken from Foot Mercato, the transfer drama which has been very difficult to process has finally come to light, Mbappe has finally reached an agreement to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2024. In the last few transfer market periods, Mbappe has always been Real Madrid main target, because PSG does not want to part with Mbappe, making it difficult for Real Madrid to secure his signature.

Mbappe attitude of not being willing to sign a new contract to extend his tenure with PSG, finally the club gave in and opened up for Mbappe departure and also gave hope to Real Madrid. PSG has also allowed Mbappe to meet with other teams to discuss a transfer agreement, we'll just have to wait and see how the process goes and when this transfer will be made official.
I sometimes feel confused about Mbappe's transfer, where there is still no certainty and the media reports are sometimes only exaggerated and what makes me worry is drama like last season which made everyone disappointed.
If we think logically it makes sense for Mbappe to join Real Madrid because he is a player who has high quality talent and Mbappe's name is already a star player and that is the reason it makes sense if he can join the right club to be able to achieve higher titles of course. his future career will be better.
I also think that even though PSG is one of the clubs with very stable finances, this club should not want to lose money and sell Mbappe in the January transfer market, whereas if they had to wait for June they would definitely leave freely.
From all this, I might hope that Mbappe joins Real Madrid but don't expect too much because I'm worried about being disappointed again.
A latest news from ESPN has also added Liverpool in the race with Real Madrid for the star boy K. Mbappe but from all indications it miht probably end as another media drama with PSG still retaining Mbappe till next transfer window by june. In any case he fails to leave PSG to madrid this time I'll suggest Madrid should gladly move on for they have the best talents in the likes of Vini Jnr, Belligham, Rodrygo and camavinga put together capable to compete and win major trophies in Europe with or without Mbappe. If truly Mbappe is aiming for major trophies in his career then Real Madrid is the right destination for him not Liverpool.
719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Honduras Special Zone officially recognizes Bitcoin as a unit of account on: January 09, 2024, 01:19:23 PM
Well, all news of this kind is welcome, but considering that this is an area of 60K inhabitants, we should not be overly optimistic.

Nor do I believe that Bitcoin is going to impose itself as a unit of account on the basis of legislation, considering how volatile it still is relative to the major currencies. We only have to see that it is not a unit of account in a practical way even in this forum.
What will be a big boost for Bitcoin will be when a country with a very large population will adopt it, although I don't see that happening anytime soon.
What will make up the overall adoption might not be from the angle from which you are expecting from, the continuous adoption from these less dense geographies with a staggering population put together can override a single large population. And the adoption we looking out for the expansiveness of bitcoin blockchain technology isn't just about a larger populated country but one with a high rate of literacy for ease and fast adoption.

It should rather be appreciable to see that the setting of bitcoin in the global economy is starting with the smaller populated countries  and in due time the larger nations will join in giving bitcoin a wider acceptance all over the world. but this i think will come with a cost, a situation where centralization will try to override and distort the tenets of decentralization.
