the too risky to your laptop although using the GPU external, other parts on the laptop can overheat such Processor, Try to hold the keyboard certainly feels a bit hot and the fan rotation that feels heavy even the sound of the fan exit.usually, if laptop overheats will crash or restart itself can even become damaged
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Now Which Coin is best for mining? on: February 09, 2018, 07:53:18 AM
everybody has the definition 'soon' is different. maybe 'soon' is tomorrow, maybe 1 week later, 1 month later, 1 year or 2,3,4 year later or the ETH never to be Pos. You can calculate own from current Dag Size, how many ETH when released and how many current amount ETH. But ETH issue from POW to POS only to be news consumption. In fact, doesn't somebody know when the ETH coins to be POS except only those involved in the creation and development of ETH.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig OS on: February 09, 2018, 06:49:45 AM
What would be the best operating system for a AMD (2 x Vega56) and Nvidia(2 x 1080ti) mining rig? I'm planning to add a max of 2-4 more cards in future. On googling I got many scenarios of failures on different steps and am curious on how to build this rig (first one for me!)
When you using Window10 then when have a problem, you can read this forum, a lot give the solution based their experience using Window10. ex: Windows has tools such HWinfo, that can tell precisely if your GPU is working properly or no.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Riser Card Wiring on: February 08, 2018, 09:29:00 AM
The wire melting issues that most people encountered in the past wasn't because people ran more than 2-3 risers off a SATA chain it was the cheap bad quality SATA to molex adapter included with the risers that melted on the SATA side.
Yes, absolute agree in melted cable case. It depends on cable quality since there is no Wattage for each cable only Max Voltage and Current. If you read carefully what I say before, my point is How to powering Riser with the same condition when we mounting cards direct to mobos.

When we mounting a card directly to Pciex16 on mobos, that socket will produce Max 75W. So, a Riser powered by Molex or 6 Pins will give the same condition. that what I mean with safer.
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Riser Card Wiring on: February 08, 2018, 03:23:23 AM
I have 8000 cards running off of sata risers. They work just fine, the problem is people dont understand how electricity works........

This is about safer, not about right or wrong. All of GPUs need to mounted to PCIe 16x that can produce max 75 Watt (on mobo). When we are using "powered riser", we need to make sure that riser will produce the same wattage (max 75 Watt). So we need to make the same condition on it. Since SATA can only produce max 55 Watt (depends on wire rating) and Molex can produce max 75 Watt, so safer using Molex or 6 pins for powering Riser.

I also using SATA connector in a few riser, I think PCIe 1x to USB in riser will produce same as PCIe 1x socket on Mobos (25 Watt max), but I never try to measure it. That's why people said safer using MOLEX or 6 pins than SATA.
706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCI-e riser connection for 4 GPU on: February 08, 2018, 02:59:01 AM
what about PCIe connectors?
I would need minimum 6 *8 Pin PCIe connectors from the PSU for 4 GPUs plus 4 risers: 4 of them would power 4 GPUs (150W each), 2 of them would power 4 risers, using 8 Pin Male to Dual 6 pin Female (2*150/4=75W for each riser).
Correct?
So you are planning on using Y splitter 8 to 2x6 pin, it's enough to power your riser. But your PSU only has 4 PCIe 8 pin, right? You could use a riser with a Molex connector, so you can powering your riser directly from PSU using Molex connector or else use 6 pin riser with Molex to 6 pin power. Will safer than using SATA connectors.
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining alone on a pool VS real solo mining via RPC on: February 07, 2018, 04:59:03 PM
according to whattomine i should mine 3.9 etc per day,  thats exactly 1 block.  i have 0.013% hashrate from the total hash.

0.013% from 7.19 Th/s, it means you have around 930-950 Mh/s Hashrate, around 31-35 card, right? I suggest you don't do solo mining in ETC, a Network Hashrate, and Difficulty too high for your Hashing Power. If you want solo mining with your Rig, find other coins.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Maximizing Hash Rates and Efficiency on RX580 GPUs - Help! Averaging 25.875 Mh/s on: February 07, 2018, 04:26:52 PM
Im getting 17mh/s or even 16 on some with elpida memory and you crying over 25mh/s ? Cheesy if you could post where did you download bioses i would be glad to you mostly i've been downloading them from anorak.tech
It will be causing your system isn't stable, every Bios has different versions. the best way to modification your bios cards is using the original bios of your cards. Backup your bios card, duplicate it. Use one of them for modification. PBE 1.6.x with one click auto copy strap would help you.
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying Laptop on: February 07, 2018, 02:23:15 PM
I want to but a laptop which will best laptop to mine btc/ETH ??

Price near about 500$---750$
Hey dude,

yes, you can mine BTC / ETH using Laptop, but you will get nothing because you need to beat a ton of ASIC miners and GPUs Rig.

and most laptops to be produced just for writing, reading, watching the movies and some games, not for mining.

because the mining process requires a device running 24/7 and then the device produces heat. while a laptop will not be able to remove the heat

generated from the process.even if your laptop is stored in Refrigerator or you are in the is on the continent of Arctic though.
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: i want mine some altcoin, what the best altcoin for mine now? on: February 07, 2018, 01:58:44 PM
i want mine some altcoin, what the best altcoin for mine now?
Is:
1. The coins if convert to BTC/USD more bigger from your electricity bill.

2. The Pool attracts small fees.

3. Network Diff the low and the reward/block or reward/hashrate share is high.

4. Hashrate your GPU the determine your rewards.

by the way, do you have the GPUs?
711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCI-e riser connection for 4 GPU on: February 07, 2018, 01:32:54 PM
So no, a decent PSU won't kill your cards, only the cheap chinese knockoffs. OP has one of the best PSUs available.
No matter what, in mining industries, GPUs is our asset. so we need to make sure our asset always in good condition if we plan for along term. if we truly calculate OPs HW, I think power draw would be around 650-700 Watt on a default setting.

it's mining we need to run our Rig 24/7. So, I guarantee only using more power space would keep our asset safer. Hashrate per Watt is important, but the most important thing is to make sure our Cards has enough power.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCI-e riser connection for 4 GPU on: February 07, 2018, 09:53:58 AM
Slot draw (riser) is included in the card's TDP.
Yes, that's why I use safer calculated, also with how much power that motherboards needed.

I never use software calculation about power consumption, it will give more gap between what shown on a software and the real (at Wall), trust me.

I always calculate max power draw for each part.

The motherboard and the CPU draw less than 50 watts, not to say 20.
yeah, but I never found even at old computer that has 100 Watt PSU. It's called safer.

750W is perfectly enough for these cards. It will run at about 600W on stock load and 450-500W when undervolted.
I totally disagree. I have a set of 3x570 + 1x1060 mining Eth taking 500W from the wall. Of course I undervolt them otherwise it would be close to 600Watts. So its clearly ok to have a 750 PSU for those cards (1070 are close to 570 in terms of consumption) provided that it is a good one.
but isn't safe and will kill your cards slowly

713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCI-e riser connection for 4 GPU on: February 07, 2018, 08:17:46 AM
I have a 4 GPU build: 3*1070 + 1*1060 + PSU Corsair RM750 (4*6+2 pin)
Would it be right just to connect only GPUs directly from PSU to the 8 pin connector on the card without powering risers?

still, need power because Riser needs power max 75W both Molex or 6 pins.

Is PSU power would be enough for that build?

Every time I want to build a Rig, I always calculate a standard GPU that needs Powering because my rig is stable and rarely problematic. (Yes, I know if doing it with undervolt total powering is not same.)

This's safer calculate.

1070 has a TDP of 150 W x 3 = 450 W
1060 has a TDP of 120 W x 1 = 120 W
total = GPU requires 570 Watt power then 750 W - 570 w = 180 W remaining power. Not to mention SSD, RAM, RISER  that has not been calculated yet.

So 750 W, not enough

Yeah i was using ab and was working fine.. then one day the mv display went to 0 and i cant modify the slider for power at all.... change power setting is unlocked

Also activated unlock voltage monitoring then go to AB main directory find MSIAfterbuner, it's CFG file, then open it on a notepad.

1. Find UnofficialOverclockingEULA change it to UnofficialOverclockingEULA = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it.

2. Find this text UnofficialOverclockingMode change it  to UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1 and save it.

3. Change Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

4. You need to check all 4 digits folders (0000,0001, and so on.) modifying all that have Enable ULPS by default value data is 1, change it to 0 then reboot your system.

715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Etherum mining rig issues on: February 06, 2018, 11:58:28 AM
did the driver install and patch and ive gone up to 172m/hs for 6 gpus   one gpu is still very low,  but im pretty happy with that,,  whats the best way to undervolt the cards?  my msi afterburner is not picking up the mv for the card or letting me adjust it
you can under-volt it directly using PBE but too risky need experience on it. if you're using AB make sure activate unlock voltage control on AB general setting. I suggest using AB version 4.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First GPU Mining Rig at Home - RX580 on: February 06, 2018, 09:31:31 AM
Few questions:
 - Any suggestions on how to up my hashrate, I'm thinking of uninstalling all GPU drivers and reinstalling the latest, then do some overclocking/undervolting

Do Mod bios if you're using  PBE 1.6.2 it will copy your strap 1750 to above (1750 more stable)

if PBE1.6.6 will copy your strap 1500 to above.  Use your original BIOS backup for safer.

Note: Using crimson relive blockchain driver it will fix Dag epoch fixed also patch your signature using ati pixel clock patcher/atikmad patcher.

- For a someone with my hashrate which mining pool do you guys suggest I use for ETH
I mining in Ethermine : https://ethermine.org/
717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: hotel mining on: February 06, 2018, 07:50:33 AM
another cool fantasy for if profitability goes back up is to carry a rig around to cheap hotels and use the ac to cool it and the rig brings in the cost of the hotel.  I have a small ish 6 card rig that is about the size of a suitcase that could have brought in 40 dollars a day 2 weeks ago.

Imagine this same concept with higher profitability.  You could travel for free.  My only question is how would airplanes feel about a mining rig in checked luggage?   Customs?

I'd love to set this up in southeast asia and spend about 20 dollars a day on the hotel. 10 on food and live a life of free travel.  Just be worried about the rig being stolen.

that's very...very fantasy high class. you're the best miners dude.your fantasy beat Albert Einstein and Satoshi Nakamoto. good luck dude
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Etherum mining rig issues on: February 06, 2018, 07:03:31 AM
Gday yeah sorry i used PBE prob the latest version... didnt know about the driver signature thing  and whats crimson relive?

This's Crimson Relive : http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspx. will fix Dag epoch.

I didn't have experience with the last version of The PBE, so far as I know and based on experience hynix and samsung chips stable with copying 1750 to above. so I suggest to using 1.6.2. you can patch driver signature using atikmdag patcher.

719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1st Mining rig 8x RX580 please review build list on: February 06, 2018, 06:49:43 AM
PSU CORSAIR HX Series HX850 @2
Risers Rebbic VER009S 6-Pack PCI-E 16x to 1x Powered Riser @2

Are you buy will 2 Riser and you use PCIex16 directly your other GPUs?. if you do it directly your GPUs to PCIex16 it's very not safe.

RX580 has TDP 185W x 8  = 1,480 W

RAM normal 2-4 W, peak 10 W Conditions

Celeron 51 W (Series G)

SSD :  2 W

Molex, 6 pin connector (if you're using Riser) or PCIex16 board will need supply max 75 W with or without Riser. 8 x 75w = 600W

total need Power Consumption = 2143 W. it's safer calculation.

in fact, under-volting will decrease wattage of your Cards but it's not safe for the long term if you give small power space for your cards and other parts also.

720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining going to die soon? on: February 06, 2018, 05:12:25 AM
Everyone keeps asking the same shit again I've been mining for 4 years and every time the markets start to go down all you here is mining is going to die well I'll be here mining till the shit is dead or I'm dead see most ppl don't get it a lot of us are here because we love crypto and what it stands for not the money that's just a bonus also ETH is just one coin out of well I can't count them all
I still profit after calculated electricity bill and still save my profit in the wallet. still can buy GPU 2 pieces/month. profit or no depending your financial Management .when to sell coins, when to hold the coin. and when to switch coins manually. and depending on your management maintenance Rig. Good management of maintenance very influences to your profit.
