Maybe I should host a SHT node on my server when I have synced....

would be funny if you tried to send SHT with not enough funds and then a loud farting sound (as a fart has no shit coming out but it still comes from the rear) would be so funny hahahah

I was torn between 3S5s and 3S3s but the s5s sound like miniature jet-engines from my research, while the S3s could be made quieter to the point of no distraction with fan modifications. I have a corsair RM1000 PSU supplying two of them and an antec 520 on the other one. I did get an Ethernet switch for them. Hashing away : )

when is the deadline? my core should be reindexed within the next few hours or as I sleep, it seems to reindex fast until it gets to like a year then it slows down badly!

26 weeks from reindex completion D:

I might need a few hours cause my core is reindexing

I increased CPU priority in hopes of speeding it up! As it involves calculations as part of this, I wonder if the core developers could make use of a GPU to assist in the reindex process as it isn't just downloading the blockchain but validating it?

709  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: new ckpool club run by philipma1957 with a nod to Member ziploc on: November 13, 2015, 08:16:12 PM
I use my core so I can use a full node to help support the network, it was only a power failure that lead me to have to reindex it

What do you mean by mine subset? are us small ones pooling together to make 1BTC?

If we do the math, as I am gambling say 0.29 BTC what is outcome for me if it hits 1 block, or possibly two? for example no block = lost of course
1 block = X.XXX BTC 2 blocks = double the first...

I will wait until you have the break down as mentioned and then who am I sending my coins to? Just to double check it is 3DtrgsQnGcZ7SqGGdMDe9nYfKrNoYWnSyH
Currently still reindexing so the few hours wait is okay

Do I sent 0.29 or 0.1? My core reindex sucks.

When do we transfer the coins? I am 30 weeks behind reindexing my core and thus my wallet after a power outage so might be a few hours yet you mention 0.1 so I have basically 3 shares (almost) of 0.1 at 0.29? Jacob

I am still willing to contribute 0.29. And yeah if you could post the link that would be great! I would be quicker to reply on here but have been doing my college assignments!

If it happened to find more than 1 block it would still be shared around equally to every investor proportional to what they put in?

I think this is a good idea... we need to find someone we can 100% trust with the coins though, unless we can have multiple wallets as part of the coinbase transaction? Just a thought....

Plus the money spent on power keeps my thermostat down : ) the heat that comes off these in my highly insulated flat is enough to keep me warm and turn the thermostat down Cheesy

I told my uncle about this and hes stopped playing the national lottery and just bought himself a cheap S1 to throw in the solo pool, deciding its better value than the lottery! I explained to him how it all works and he was quite impressed haha. He has much less hashrate than me, but anything can happen! Cheesy As my uncle is a set-it and forget it person his has the same solo pool configuration and failover. I was interested in trying an s5 but the problem is the noise unless I could put quieter fans on it!

As stated in the topic title, currently 3 S3s and 1U3 are going at it! I have decided to solo mine for the next two years and see what comes up, I might add to the set up later.
I will be sure to update when a block is found! I am wondering though... Is it best I keep them all pointed to CKs solo pool, or maybe point one of them to nicehash.com (as the pool will give different work to the miner so part of my hashrate is working on different 'work' although its then less hashrate going towards the CK work) Currently they are all pointed to solo CK pool and have nicehash solo pool as the failover. I put CKs as the primary as I seem to know I can trust it given the high level of support and the fact its paid out every time a valid block is found and confirmed as part of the main chain. When a block is found I will ping a small donation to CK in that event. It is invaluable as mining on your local client maybe with a questionable upload I don't think is the best move! Wish me luck!

Heres to a block find!

This is my Uncle's S1:

Jacob

EDIT: changed wallet address as I exported the private key from the old one to get my funds into another wallet as I couldn't wait the several hours to resync. As I had uploaded the private key somewhere I felt it safer to generate a new receiver address : )
EDIT II: My uncles S1 link has been added now its running!

tbf the money used to rent hash could instead be put on a half decent rig or set of rigs and run for longer and you have something tangable that's worth something as well

I have done a couple of 1pH of like 30 mins from nicehash I didn't hit as of yet, currently solo mining with 3 S3s. It will happen! Cheesy
