701  Economy / Economics / The ECB is Out of Control - All Checks and Balances Have Failed the System on: October 05, 2016, 03:57:26 PM

Prof. Markus C. Kerber, Professor at TU Berlin, and James Turk, Director of the GoldMoney Foundation, talk about the European rescue fund. Prof. Kerber explains that the fund is in violation of the monetary union treaty. He talks about the current expansion and expected future expansions of the fund.

They talk about the rogue behaviour of the ECB. Prof. Kerber explains that the central bank's quantitative and qualitative easing is beyond its authority and against the spirit and letter of the treaties that created it. It has created a discriminatory credit market, is engaging in fiscal policy and creates market instability. He comments on the legal action currently ongoing in Luxembourg to bring the ECB to account and condemn its out of bounds behaviour.

Prof. Kerber explains that the system of checks and balances is broken down when it comes to the ECB and tells of the public outcry in Germany when the Bundesbank tried to sell its gold.

He talks about the very strong discussions over whether to let Greece exit the euro. The position that no country would be allowed to fail set the stage for all the further bailouts.

He comments on the German rejection of the French attitude that the euro is a political project and that price is no object. He talks about the danger of Germany losing its creditworthiness.

702  Other / Politics & Society / Both Democrats & Republicans Agree - The VP Debate Was a KaineWreck! on: October 05, 2016, 03:45:22 PM

Wow, I have to say, I haven't seen such a horrible debate defeat in a long time. Tim Kaine and Mike Pence squared off in one of the most anticipated VP Debates in modern history. This debate was so highly anticipated, and sought after due to the high unfavorability of both primary candidates, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Typically, the VP debate is thought of to "not matter" and to be "inconsequential", but was not the case last night, as a massive amount of undecided voters still remains in the voting pool. Unfortunately for the Hillary Clinton campaign and for Tim Kaine, the latter was an epic disappointment.

Tim Kaine came off nervous, aggressive (in all the wrong ways) and flustered. He interrupted Mike Pence a stunning 70 times! As he constantly attempted to drown out Pence any chance he got and certainly anytime that Pence brought up anything remotely negative in regards to Hillary Clinton.

This fact was noticed by the audience in real time, pundits on both the Democratic side and the Republican side, as well as independents shook their heads in disdain as Tim Kaine crashed and burned. In fact, I am actually having an incredibly difficult time finding any article that fully defends Tim Kaine, even when looking at horribly left leaning news sites...

707  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoins safe? on: October 05, 2016, 03:37:49 PM
Bitcoins are just as safe, or if not safer than cash. It just depends on whether or not YOU take the proper steps to protect your investment.
708  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: October 05, 2016, 03:36:59 PM
Simply put, this is just too risky at this time, although don't get me wrong. There are innovations and jobs that can be created in the Bitcoin space, that COULD become your full time job.
709  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: October 05, 2016, 03:36:11 PM
History has shown that it is ALWAYS better to invest in the long term. Although, there certainly are times when it would of being prudent to sit on your money and then invest at a later date.
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin wallet in bank? on: October 05, 2016, 03:34:44 PM
I don't think you would want to trust the banking industry with your Bitcoins. They are against Bitcoin by and large, as it threatens their establishment.
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: October 05, 2016, 03:32:12 PM
Of course it is, but cash is being used far more than bitcoin is. That does not make Bitcoin itself evil in any shape or form.
712  Other / Off-topic / Re: How long you in bitcoin world? on: October 05, 2016, 03:29:58 PM
I think Bitcoin or some form of it will be around for as long as it isn't shut down by government. Which I think we have passed the point of happening. Its here for the long term.
713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if POKEMON GO let people earn Bitcoin? on: August 23, 2016, 02:19:36 PM
100% a possibility once trading is put in the game. Where there is a demand there is a price. BTC can easily act as a medium of an exchange in this scenario. Good food for thought.
714  Other / Off-topic / Re: Save you Bitcoin for your (grand) child / children? on: August 23, 2016, 02:18:16 PM
Bitcoin is a long term project. Therefore it makes sense to save small parts over a long horizon. Do you save Bitcoins for your (grand) child or children?

For those who do not have (grand) children (yet), would you save Bitcoin for them if you would have (grand) children?

For me personally, that is quite a distance off in the future, where they would be able to appreciate / understand what it is. Who knows if BTC will still be the dominate player in the Crypto space by then?
715  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin Changed my life has it changed yours? on: August 23, 2016, 02:17:02 PM
Definitely. I would say that it has impacted the mass majority of people on these forums in a positive way. It has opened up my eyes to the Crypto would and the future that it is undoubtedly going to play in our world going forward.
716  Other / Off-topic / Re: When was the first time you bought bitcoin? on: August 23, 2016, 02:16:08 PM

718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippine government will soon regulate bitcoin operations in their country on: July 18, 2016, 03:55:17 PM
A shame, regulations by government only stifles growth.
719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: July 18, 2016, 03:54:38 PM
The barrier is very high, we have seen many contenders and none have thus far been able to.
720  Economy / Speculation / Re: After Weeks of Price Stagnation, BTC Price Seems to be Moving Up on: July 18, 2016, 03:54:12 PM
