701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 11, 2023, 04:48:50 PM

That's true because if the gambler has no serious awareness and intention, he will not be able to stop or reduce his gambling activities. Everything will return to the person who lives it, and even if someone forces him to stop gambling, he still can't stop, and he might gamble secretly. And even though his life has become poor, he still cannot give up gambling, he will return to gambling, but maybe his gambling will adjust to his finances. Gambling activities are only for fun and entertainment, so they cannot use it as a way to make money, let alone passive income. They should know that it will be difficult for them to win regularly because gambling is not designed to give wins to the gambler but to the casino.

If you find the people who had quit the gambling after the addiction, you can use their strategy to reduce the gambling activities. Many gamblers won’t quit the gambling after the advice from the other friends.Because his mind will not accept the other words, the gambler start to play the game secretly.

You will not get addicted if you know how to handle things yourself and just having an idea what these addicts will do will be sufficient enough for you to stay in the safe zone. Gambling might be hard to ignore but this is just a challenge that we need to endure if we are really inclined to gamble and we need to face it so that we cannot be one of those list who need help but chose not to because they don't know how deep they are already.
702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Control Your Emotions and Win More Bets on: September 11, 2023, 04:08:35 PM
Depression is real, Negativity is real, Emotions and fear also follows but we are built to go through all this, it's what makes us human, These are things that we can't all escape, and on the other part of us we are programmed to learn from them and grow.

The problem starts if you fail to learn from your falls, you can be in control but the payment is been disciplined, when a child comes into the world they don't talk or walk, it was all a gradual process, we fail so that we can learn.

You lose to your emotions so that you can learn how to control them, you get into the wrong hands because you are weak and the lesson is to become stronger, like I've said already, this is the only way to learn as a human.

Every mistakes is fine but not learning from them is wrong, Reshape yourself and be a better person.

You have a point but not all things that we need to commit mistakes in different situations in order to learn and become a better person. There are a lot of things that are unnecessary to fail. We learn from other peoples' past experiences just like we are listening to our elders and teachers in order for us to become better humans.

In gambling, we do not have to be addicted to become responsible gamblers. We don't have to experience other people who lost properties and have huge debts because of their emotions that lead to gambling addictions.

Learning from other people's mistakes might do the trick because that is one way of learning without any risks but the downside of that thing is that you cannot fully understand what does it feel like and how to stand back after you stumble if you yourself won't experience it. Self experience will always be the best teacher and in line with experience, we should be more intelligent after that and that is a must because it makes us dumb if after experiencing a mistake, we still do it and repeat the cycle without any learning.
703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: September 11, 2023, 03:36:09 PM
There are many gamblers who spend their winnings in betting to live a luxurious life even though he thinks that since the money is earned without any effort, he does not care about the money and lives a luxurious life and spends the betting money. If there are smart gamblers who win large amounts of money in betting, then they will at one time use the bad money to strengthen their career and life so that they do not have to participate in gambling again.
It is a decision each gambler makes, especially if they win a lot of money from gambling games. But if they care about their life, they will not live luxuriously on their winnings but will save most of it for their future or use it to create a business that can bring them more money. A wise gambler will do this because having a business can generate money that will be useful for his life. They will probably leave gambling because they can earn a lot of money from gambling, and now is the time to start changing their lives to be better than before and reduce their gambling activities.

As they say, those who earned money without breaking some sweat will also find themselves in the same situation where they will lose all of it without breaking some sweat.

My point is, people don't know the trouble if they found those money without any effort, just for example winning the lottery, most people will spend those winnings as if they already have unlimited money until they come to a point where they realize that it's already over for them as they spent it on useless things without providing something for their future so that they won't have the same problem again where they will hope for another winnings again.
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 11, 2023, 03:04:43 PM
Reports from the Bay Area saying that the Warriors may actually be looking to start Chris Paul when the season kicks off. That means they could have a lineup of CP3, Steph, Klay, Wiggins, & Draymond out there. Besides never winning a tip again, I’d imagine they would be dominated on the boards by bigger teams but their 3 point shooting would be crazy. Will be interesting to see their first game.
They going to play the load management game with CP3? There's no way he will be able to play more than 50 games in the season IMO. He's near retirement and everyone knows it.

The Warriors doesn't have much option this time but to utilize what they have because either way, they need CP3's help while he's still with the team because it won't benefit the team if they will let him stay in the safe side just to keep him away from harm. Moreover, this is just an experimental phase while the season is still young but let's expect that there will be some adjustments as the season drags on.
705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Frank Martin - tentative date 11/16 or 12/9 on: September 10, 2023, 03:33:30 PM
An update on this fight: Frank Martin has pulled out and Stevenson is now looking to fight #6 ranked fighter Edwin de los Santos.
https://www.boxingscene.com/shakur-stevenson-seeks-new-opponent-wbc-lightweight-title-fight-frank-martin-out--177598

My guess is that Haymon has managed to pull some strings and another one of Haney's belts will suddenly be declared vacant so that Martin can face an easier opponent instead. Stevenson has called himself the most ducked fighter in boxing and that claim may be accurate. None of the top fighters in the division seem too interested in fighting him.

Thanks for the heads up mate!

Tough guess and I'd say that maybe that was really the case but even we say that Al Haymon wasn't the one pulling the strings behind the scenes, we still cannot blame Frank Martin for pulling out from this fight that could land him a belt once Haney will be stripped if he continue his journey at 140 pounds because he himself already know the chances and that the belt that he will be fighting for is not that realistic to obtain because he will be facing Shakur Stevenson, who is touted to be more intelligent and stronger than Haney.
706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 10, 2023, 02:47:51 PM
I doubt there is a game fixing in the battle for the bronze. At the very least, it could be that some American players aren't that interested in the 3rd place and will lose the fire in them. But I am pretty sure that their coach Steve Kerr wants to win the 3rd place. This is a challenge to him and he will do everything to enlighten his team in getting a win. The same with Canada, they want this 3rd place and then come back stronger next year in the Paris Olympics with their experience.

Less than an hour already before it starts. I actually have ML bets on Canada and Serbia.

We can't be sure whether they did it or not but we don't know what happened behind the scenes we know that USA is always the champion so it's a bit strange if they are fighting for 3rd/4th place imo. Regardless of our opinion, we should just wait and see how this ends this match will start in a few minutes and I will ignore it by not placing a bet, our focus is on Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 if USA points are less than 50 points in the first half then it could be suspected  Cheesy

But it's not what happened a few hours ago because I think most of us here witnessed how close and tight their scores are, so I think that we can already ease ourselves by thinking that there is a chance of a game fixing in FIBA games mainly in this phase. Doesn't matter what I think because that's not important at this point because we already saw how the game goes and ended fair and square.

the game is quite tight. game fixing, hmm. we won't really know if this actually is happening even on this event.  the odds are like 50-50. at least we are watching a very nice game from both teams.
germans are watching this final game as they have nationwide broadcast of this game. so i don't think they will deal with fixing here. and for sure, serbians are also glued on their screens right now.

Nah! I don't think that there is a game fixing in this kind of competition, I mean sure there are some chances but that is only doable in small leagues where they can get away without some smoke and certainly not the ones like FIBA that are watched around the world round now.

And for some latest updates, Germany has done it! They are the FIBA champions and the Gold medalist (GER 83-77 SER), it was a tough game for sure because the Serbians didn't cut them some slack but they still made it to the end.
707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: September 10, 2023, 02:15:33 PM
But this year we all know more or less about the Saudi League. Also keep track of the matches. Saudi Arabia is planning long-term. Gradually they will popularize the Saudi League.

Right now they are in the process of doing so. Their target is long-term. They wanted to make the Arabic name not only famous for Oil. They realized the oil could run out soon. In addition, the proposal to host the world cup is also a strong reason. They put themselves forward to host the 2030 World Cup if I'm not mistaken. With the arrival of star players, the hope is that they will continue to be consistent with an exciting league. In addition, there are always changes in every transfer market in every season. Evidently the Arab League is not an easy league for players from Europe.

Yes, that is indeed the reason why Saudi chose to compete with the bigger ones in the competition right now because they know that sooner or later, they won't be that rich anymore to afford a humungous offer to whatever player they want. It might take long, yes because oil are still needed around the globe but it's already a fact that some time soon, it won't be that easy to acquire such.

Anyway, back to the topic. I know that SPL will eventually do it because they already started their move years ago and those same move are the reason why they are on the football map right now. Sooner or later, they will be much bigger and competitive, and can produce strong players of their own, locally.
708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: September 10, 2023, 12:46:07 PM
I would like to see Jerwin becoming champion again but I actually voted for Takuma by decision. Jerwin is going to get schooled if he is not bringing something new to his technique.

He faced two losses against the same opponent, Fernando Daniel Martinez. Given that Takumi's upcoming opponent might have a different fighting style, there might not be a pressing need for him to change his own style. Both camps will undoubtedly study their opponent and develop a strategy they believe will work best.

Honestly, I haven't observed anything particularly exceptional from Takumi, and despite Jerwin facing some challenges lately, I still believe he has what it takes to be victorious in this match.

In my opinion, this is a 50/50 fight. While I'll be betting on Ancajas, it's evident that most voters here are his supporters. However, it's important to note that this won't be an easy challenge for Ancajas, given that Inoue is the current champion and fighting in Japan. Although it's a long shot, I'm hoping that Ancajas will aim for a knockout victory. That would not only make him popular again but also potentially rejuvenate his career, which has seen some setbacks after two losses.

It's always a 50/50 fight because there are no guarantees that Jerwin will really upset the champion in this division, we should consider too that he is still relatively new while this Takuma has been around in the weight class much longer than him. Apart from that, aside from being a supporter, I try to be fair because my wager has nothing to do from being his supporter as I will always put money on the boxer which I think has more chances, and in this particular case, I'm siding with Jerwin because of his experience and I'm not really viewing Takuma as a threat because he doesn't have that one punch like his brother does.
709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: September 09, 2023, 05:13:08 PM

^ It's possible. Boxing gloves are heavy, they would have to agree on which boxing gloves to wear and if Fury suggests the heaviest boxing glove, there goes the chance of Ngannou to the south. The ball is with Fury and the fight result might just decide to be cruel to Ngannou.

Fury is very confident he can beat the shit out of Ngannou and he was just acting it like is the easiest to do in the Tom Hardy interview. He seems not realizing he is out of shape.

He got his own reasons and I understand him for that because he's not really used to it and particularly, he cannot use the same strength when it comes to using the boxing gloves but he should know that this bout will be listed as a professional boxing fight which means that it's not an option what kind of gloves should be used.

I mean, you cannot really use a volleyball when you're playing basketball, right? It might be hard for him because he came from a different sport but he should know better because he's the one who challenged Fury. It's much better for him to skip the reasons because it won't help him in his case.
710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 09, 2023, 04:52:58 PM

Well, if that's the case then there is a big chance that we can see the fight that we have been waiting for all these years. A fight where Casimero and Inoue will finally share the same ring and make the argument end once and for all. Although, after saying that, that also means that we're truly underestimating Tapales here because we're already assuming that by then Inoue is still the champion and that Tapaes was just a mere ladder to achieve Inoue's target.

I think every boxing fan wants to see that fight happen since that was the only fight for Inoue to prove he is the real monster if he beat Casimero, it would be a great accomplishment for him since he found the last piece of the puzzle for his achievement. As for Tapales, he won't have any chance to win the fight and it would be just a waste of belts to fight Inoue right now. Maybe he needs more time until he fights Inoue but if he really wants to try his luck then it's really up to him.

Tapales probably sees an opportunity in fighting Inoue; it's the money he would make, which is bigger compared to fighting an unknown boxer who would be his challenger. He's seizing the opportunity, win or lose; he would make a decent paycheck. But if he wins via an upset, it will be life-changing for him, and he will be recognized all over the world. With that to happened, I'm sure there are more opportunities waiting for him.

.we are all know that once a champion will have a fight against challenger then he can not say that he can earn a lot of money or even he can receives a good offer cause as we all know that only few around the world will watch your fights. Unless a champion vs champion then we can say that there a lot of people want to watch cause they will know that both fighter a re champion then they will see a good fight for sure.

If you're talking about Casimero vs Oguni, none of them is the champion in this division that is why I don't see someone challenging someone because this fight has been already arranged beforehand as Casimero has signed with a Japanese counterpart. That is why he got a fight with the likes of Akaho and Filipus.

But since you're replying to a discussion between Tapales and Inoue, which makes me curious by the way if whom you're referring as a challenger because both of them is a champion at 122 that is why they will fight next for the undisputed title. Casimero and Oguni is a different bout, so I think you're just confused.
711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 08, 2023, 05:10:54 PM
With regards to the potential Canelo vs. Bud next year, it sounds crazy but really doable if Canelo approves it. If I were Canelo, I would take it since it is the biggest fight in boxing right now. He will be bashed a lot though if he wins and it could be worse if he loses to someone who moves up two divisions. I like Bud to win but I believe Canelo will be too much and destroy him.
If I'm not mistaken, Canelo already welcomed the idea where he could face Crawford next considering that he will win in his upcoming fight against Charlo. It's just a matter of time though, what we need to know now is if Crawford is still that powerful and fast at 154 against Spence before he proceeds towards 168. I know that he's big and so 154 or 168 will be okay for him but that alone can't make him win.
All I heard and read before was that Canelo seemed interested but at 168. But after Crawford changed his tune and became interested in making that ambitious historic feat, Canelo is showing some hints that he is uninterested because he wouldn't get any credit if he wins. But I felt like Canelo is just trying to make an impression to the public that he is not the one pushing this mega fight. Canelo will propose this fight if Bud wins his rematch with Spence. I believe Crawford no matter how good he is in his current division, will be at a whole new level at 168. Financially, he is high-reward and low-risk fight for Canelo at 168. And Crawford at 36 with lesser reflexes, Canelo is not a welterweight and might just eat his punches just to land his own big punishing shots.
It's all part of Canelo's plan including that one where he seemed not interested because there's no benefit for him if he will fight Crawford but in reality, it's the opposite thing because he just wanted to make the people more hungry and thirsty so that their fight will be a headline for sure. And while that statement is true, Canelo should know his position mainly now that boxers in this industry are already looking at him down as he was showing some signs of weakness lately.

And if I were Canelo and knows personally that there is nothing goin on aside from getting older in the daily basis, then I'd say that I'll be happy to accept their invitation if they are really that interested because either way, it's a win-win situation and a huge paycheck for me is waiting, and lastly, the last laugh will always belong to me.

I agree with that. Canelo surely knows how to make people attracted even if the fight is still an idea, the fact that it's not yet declared, he will do something to make the people interested towards it so that they can generate as much money as possible and if they can build enough hype then that is the time where they will make it into a reality.

Next step is to market the fight but since we're talking about a future Canelo vs Crawford fight. I don't think that they really needed to market it because people will surely look forward in seeing that fight as there is also a chance that a history will happen again. Well, considering that Crawford will win.

Someone i know who has been doing pretty well on FIBA bets (100k usd profit apparently) has touted canada easy win today (11+ points)

I havent been betting much of fiba but when i did i got burned by USA , lithuania Sad

Do guys here like canada to win today too?

You mean Canada won today by 11 points or more? I don't know why he is confident Canada will win easily while the handicap for this match is -7.5 points for Canada meaning the betting market did predict Canada would win but it wasn't easy, sometimes results in semifinals are unexpected the slightest mistake can cause defeat. My last bet here was last Tuesday almost all the bets lost I gave up and didn't follow it again except for the final maybe I would be interested, I'm waiting for USA vs Canada in the final.

There's no guarantee in sports betting; one might have a good run, but it doesn't mean the risk of losing won't happen. We are talking about the semi-finals already. Canada may be the favorites, but the Serbians, even without the Joker, are doing well. So, I wouldn't think the word 'easily' would be appropriate, as Serbia isn't like Slovenia, who are very easy to predict since they rely heavily on Luka.

Right, Serbians are more thorough and are flexible enough to make some in-game adjustments as long as it's needed unlike Luka and his company that is only good in the first two quarters while they are still fresh but when the game drags on and opposing teams learn their rhythm, it's getting more easy to bust them up specially after the fact that Luka is the only threat in the team. Not to underestimate but they aren't that heavy specially now that we're already in Semis, so it's no wonder that Slovenia will have some hard time just like they had recently.
713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2023, 07:33:14 AM
A lot of talk about Christian Wood and I agree it is a good signing, but I still don’t think he starts or even replaces Rui when it comes to minutes. Rui had a great season last year and I think Christian Wood will likely get garbage minutes in comparison. I still say he’s an insurance policy in case Anthony Davis goes down.

My honest opinion about why Christian Wood on why his contract is not that big is because the Lakers doesn't have any vacant position for him where he will be inserted directly to their line-up because he just cant' get Rui's position because Rui earned it himself but that doesn't mean that he, Wood, will just sit on the sideline waiting to be called as a replacement for Davis because he also deserve more than that but he should work hard to earn his position so that he can be one of the players in Lakers first five soon.
714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: September 08, 2023, 06:52:45 AM
Saudi clubs are not relenting in the transfer window, making european players their priorities signings. SPL clubs keeps signing European players and forgetting about there own domestic players that have been in existence from the very first day the SPL was launched. Luiz Felipe is the trending new player for Al Ittihad, they probably move a little bit higher and impressive SPL games this season, which is actually a good news. Just given them enough time to adapt to the new system they have found themselves, things will definitely fall back normal as if it was European football.

I don't agree if you say they ignore local players in fact local players can compete with other European players we can see it in the current top scorer list at least 2 local players are on the list Feras Albrikan and Salem Al-Dawsari besides that we can also see Al-Taawoun which is dominated by local players out of 29 players 21 of them are local players and they are currently in 2nd place in the standings. I think this is enough to prove that local players can compete and be relied on and their abilities increase if they continue to play with European players.

We cannot really say that they are ignoring their own because of what they are doing now which may seem that they are forgetting their own, in-fact, local players still makes up most of the SPL clubs. They are just acquiring European players to make their team more strong and that kind of move is not that new to us anymore because other sports industries are also doing that, not just for power but for fame and advertising as well since SPL needs more exposure to make the league bigger. This is a part of their bigger picture, sooner or later, it will happen.
715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Control Your Emotions and Win More Bets on: September 07, 2023, 01:09:40 PM
Controlling your emotions is a must in gambling, but that does not automatically guarantee a win. Most of the time, we control ourselves because we don't want to lose more than we can afford to lose, and that's what you call discipline in gambling. Winning more bets, especially in the long run, is kind of a skill, and probably only 10% or less of all gamblers consistently win, but usually only in specific games, particularly those that require skill.

I don't know if you have seen their profile just after your problem occurred or if you had seen it before but disregarded it. The account already has negative feedback just this year, so I think that is already a warning for you to stay away from the site. This thread is more like an awareness post, and thank you for posting, but don't expect you will be able to recover your funds because they are scammers, as evidenced by their red tag. Let this be a lesson for you to do due diligence before gambling on a specific online casino.
717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fan of casino reviews online? This is a must-read on: September 06, 2023, 02:08:37 PM
You are already on the forum, so why would you need a rating platform? In my opinion, that is not necessary, as they can be biased and have their own criteria. However, if you'd like to read some honest and genuine feedback, you can just head over to a gambling site's ANN (Announcement) thread here and check the feedback. Life would be easier for you then.

As a gambler, we don't need a lot of gambling sites; we can just stick to a maximum of three trusted gambling sites I think, which we can find listed here.
718  Economy / Economics / Re: Is market manipulation a common occurrence everywhere? on: September 06, 2023, 12:02:28 PM
Money is power; if you have it, you can manipulate everything, as our world is full of dishonest people. We have to be realistic so we can react the right way. Let's not expect that everything we see is true; once money is involved, everything can be manipulated, as greediness is already a part of being human. Only a few really have pure hearts. Just play the game, as that's the only way we can survive and maybe profit from our investments.

You know what, investing or business is actually just a game; you play well, you win.
719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is KYC mandatory in CEX? on: September 06, 2023, 11:24:16 AM
As others have explained, it's usually enforced because exchanges don't want to be sued for not complying with AML legislation. Of course, it can also help exchanges perform their own analysis to minimize the risks of criminals using their services for malicious purposes. But I agree that KYC is often enforced too much. It makes sense to me that people who are dealing with significant amounts of money should provide some documentation because there's a rick of big-scale money laundering. But if a person's dealing with small amounts, it's highly unlikely that it's anything that should be of interest to the authorities. So the balance between fighting crime and respecting privacy is not in place when there's a KYC, regardless of the amount of money in question.
Yeah, exchanges enforce KYC to comply with AML. But the "one-size-fits-all" approach is incorrect. Its like finding gold in sand. Small crypto players may unintentionally violate their privacy due to the same regulatory web as large ones. Its the silent loss of privacy rights. Exchanges should use a tiered KYC approach where information requirements increase with transaction volume. Privacy is both a right and a cornerstone of decentralization.

I don't think exchanges have much difference from banks. When you open an account at a bank, you are required to provide information and documents to comply with KYC regulations, and there are no exceptions to that rule—it applies to everyone, regardless of the amount you deposit or withdraw. So, we should not be surprised if exchanges require KYC documents and information, as they are simply following the mandates from their regulators.
720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is KYC mandatory in CEX? on: September 05, 2023, 12:40:45 PM
Privacy is important when it comes to Cryptocurrency, so why do exchanges like Bitget require KYC (Know Your Customer) for all users, even those who only want to get airdrops? I thought KYC should be for those transacting many Bitcoins, Is it really necessary for everyone?

Most exchanges require KYC. If an exchange is operating legally, you can expect that they will require you to complete KYC verification when creating your account, regardless of the purpose. Although it's just an airdrop, they want to prevent abuse. It's not entirely free; they give it with the expectation of some return, possibly to attract more exchange users. It's a take-it-or-leave-it situation: either you comply, or you won't get a chance to participate in an airdrop.
