701  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: POW vs. POS on: May 14, 2018, 07:55:41 PM
Yes, that's correct and simple.

in addition:
Proof of Work (POW) is "Mining" using hardwares like Processors, GPUs, ASICs or even HDD/RAM.
Proof of Stake (POS) selection can be randomized depending on the "stake" which is directly or indirectly based on the holder's total number of coins in possession.

Every POS coins differ a lot in picking/distributing the reward.
Some are using "MasterNodes" that pose as a full node and a non-hashing miner that holds the owner's coins at stake.
Some are simple higher share higher chance which can easily leads to centralization.

This is the simplest basic explanation. Proof of Work (PoW) requires more calculation power and right now it's not mineable with desktop/laptop CPUs so, mostly ASICs (for Bitcoin, Litecoin etc.) and GPUs (Ethereum, zCash etc) are being used for mining (actually, calculating the hash nounce value according to the algorithms)

Proof of Stake, requires keeping altcoins in the Wallet and keeping it online (for syncing blockchain) As much as you have the coin, you get reward.
702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin: is it the coin of the future ? on: May 14, 2018, 07:35:02 PM
No it may not be because of it's old fashioned and not improving technology. (Mining of course, not the blockchain) There are multiple altcoins that are candidates to be the coin of future.. BUT (a big but!) Bitcoin is the father of crypto currencies. It's the enterance of Alice's WonderLand. Others followed Bitcoin adding new futures. This doesn't mean they will be better than Bitcoin and also doesn't mean Bitcoin will die... It's the beginning of our future both as a payment method and the currency itself...
703  Local / Türkçe (Turkish) / Re: Yerli ve Milli xxxx (!) on: May 14, 2018, 07:27:47 PM

704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins You Think will Grow on: May 14, 2018, 07:20:49 PM
I believe Waves will grow in 2018. Smart contracts are on the way. After it's effective, Waves will be the biggest competitor of Ethereum with faster blockchain and base for ICO's with Tokenomica platform. If you haven't yet, please check their website wavesplatform.com for more information.
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get fast rich in crypto world. on: May 14, 2018, 07:11:08 PM
1. Stay away from pump/dump groups
2. Stay away from ICO's (even they are not scam they won't make you rich in a short time)
3. Stay away from advisor who need advices
4. Learn to read charts
5. Learn to analyze charts
6. Follow news and speculations
7. Forget being rich in a short time
8. Don't dream to own a Lambo unless you have 50Bitcoins Smiley
706  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the qualities and attributes of an ideal cryptocurrency or blockchain? on: May 14, 2018, 03:05:51 PM
It doesn't have to be something new but also, it doesn't have to be a copy of the current ones in the market. For example Ethereum with smart contracts or Iota's Tangle are good examples. They both offered something new and showed improvement.
707  Local / Türkçe (Turkish) / Re: Kripto Paraya Destek Veren Bankalar on: May 14, 2018, 03:50:03 AM
708  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The reason people do not want to invest in crypto on: May 13, 2018, 08:26:46 PM
1. For crypto currencies, blockchain is not a problem it's the solution. You don't need a solution from Blockchain, it's already a solution. But if you wanted to mean that Bitcoin transactions yes, it has to be improved. But there are faster and cheaper transferable alternatives, if you want to invest...

2. Fiat currency is also too easy to join, why do people invest on fiat currencies?

3. This is the way for some people make money. But it doesn't mean that's same for everyone..

4. This is a regulation situation. There are over 1500 crypto currencies which are not controlled by governments but we do trade by depositing fiat currencies which belong to countries. Governments don't know how to regulate exchanges because they "discover" that they can't regulate cryptos...

710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitClassic (B2C) A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System on: May 13, 2018, 05:43:24 AM
It seems this is a new fork of Bitcoin, At least ticker is way better than BCC or BCH or BCash or whatever Smiley But the part "exchanges we plan to be listed on" shows that the project might be scam. Do you guys have any idea how to get listed on these exchanges? Why do you plan to spend that much? Where do the funds come from? Seems 160k blocks are pre-mined, how will we be sure that you'll not take advantage of the pre-mined coins?
711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which anonymous coin? on: May 11, 2018, 06:33:43 AM
Hey guys,

as I noticed that I´m still missing an anonymous coin in my portfolio, I´d like to ask for your suggestion.
I´m thinking about Dash, Monero and Zcash. Right now I would prefer Dash as it has a huge community imho and a good Marketing.

Or should I go more risky and invest in coins like DeepOnion?

Thanks and greetings from Germany  Cool Cool

If you are asking for an advice for investment you are doing wrong. Because each advise will be valid if advisor's conditions are met. Expectations, patience, budget etc....

If you are looking for crypto privacy, Monero, Dash, zCash and Verge can be used to send private transactions. At the moment Dash has more active community but, you may have heard Verge's last agreement. This means the Verge team is working to grow community.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Main information about the most popular exchanges! on: May 10, 2018, 07:39:09 PM
Giving information about Binance, EtherDelta and Yobit without mentioning Poloniex, Bittrex, Huobi, HitBTC etc. is missing. Before the exchanges you mentioned these were the top preferred exchanges. They still have higher volumes and all are listed in top 10 list. So if you have time, adding these exchanges will be beneficiary for beginners. Besides information about exchanges, do trade on your own risk. Do not follow any pump/dump groups...
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is officially dead on: May 10, 2018, 03:28:29 PM
I guess you don't know the meaning of officially dead. Ethereum is market 2nd biggest coin and it's still alive. There will be a big change soon called Casper which will replace PoW mining evet it will not be the end for Ethereum. Smart contracts changed the way we use crypto currencies and Ethereum will be the best alternative to Bitcoin...
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people want ETH to over come BTC on: May 09, 2018, 06:58:01 AM
Simple: They have ETH Smiley They all missed the opportunity to buy Bitcoin but it's not too late to buy and mine Ether. (Actually mining phase will be over in September, so it's not a good time to start ETH mining)

Also, Ether has a big advantage: Smart Contracts. It's possible to create your own token(s) (needs some developer skills but it's not that hard) and list them on Etherdelta or other exchanges...

716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World's only Bitcoin debit card on: May 08, 2018, 06:17:39 AM
It's because Visa's regulations. Visa stopped card providers (mostly West Crest Holding in Malta) delivering Visa cards outside of Euro zone. That's why we don't have Bitcoin debit cards at the moment. BTW Mastercard prevented use of Maestro cards way before Visa...
717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why is it important to look at the community before investing in their coin? on: May 07, 2018, 03:02:02 PM
why is it important to look at the community of an ICO before investing in their coin?

Community is not the only thing but community support is one of the key points. Because if community supports a coin it means it will be more likely to have trading volume. Otherwise you can assume that it will be a candidate to be a pump/dump coin...
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can You Join An ICO By Just Reviewing A Project's Team Background? on: May 07, 2018, 10:45:18 AM
It's  not enough. The team is the key point but you can't decide to join just checking the team's background. They will mostly be clean but what if the project is realistic or not? You need to make a deeper research. Of course you won't have much information about the product/service if it's not directly related to your profession but you can search about it.
719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to simulate a transaction between two bitcoin addresses? on: May 07, 2018, 08:19:44 AM
You can use the testnet blockchain to simulate buying and selling. But if you would like to do a real world scenario the best practice is doing transactions with small amounts (equivalent to a few dollars) Also you should test, creating a signed transaction on an offline machine instead of broadcasting directly to the network and then broadcasting it after a while. This will be the practice of how to securely transfer Bitcoins between peers...
720  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I stop panic selling cryptocurrency? on: May 07, 2018, 07:29:24 AM
Simple: use Stop-Limit orders. Immediately after buying, add stop limit order and increase the stop value each time the price increases. You will keep your coins safe. But don't forget to set alarms on crypto folio apps or any service that tracks crypto prices. (Your exchange's application, Blockfolio, Coinstats etc.)
