7021  Economy / Economics / Re: lest we forget, Bitcoin is a blessing. on: August 07, 2017, 10:31:55 PM
Bitcoin has pass through many stage, limitations, attack and forks issue but its price keep on increasing from inception till now. At this time Last year bitcoin price was $450 but today it is $1245 that was over 180% increment in just a year. This is what we call blessing, that is making progress in the face of strong opposition!!

True! I also started earning bitcoin when the price was standing at 450 USD only and looking at current price, you can understand that how much profit I am already making just by holding my bitcoins. I didn't invest bitcoins to any cloud mining services or any ponzis because holding bitcoin has provided me with a robust return which I am bank upon.

It is indeed a blessing to many jobless person who are making a decent living just by earning bitcoins or by trading it. What else you can ask for when people are happy and they are not looking for jobs outside.

7023  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to $10,000 How Bitcoin Price Broke $3,000 and What’s Ahead on: August 06, 2017, 09:24:56 PM
I would love to see bitcoin at 10000 USD because probably by that time, I will be a millionaire. I have been saving bitcoin since it was standing at 450 USd only and I have come a long way now. I have been trading since long and earning a good amount of profit.

Unlike others, I din't invest my bitcoins in any other cloud mining or any other websites. I just trade and save bitcoin from the profits I make. But saving bitcoin is also an investment for sure. I am sure that is not going to happen very soon but one day bitcoin will break 10k USD barrier as well.
7024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have 500,000$ to invest on: August 06, 2017, 06:36:16 PM
where should i invest and why ?

First thing, you need to decide about your investment term. Are you going to stay invested for a long term or short term profit you are looking for. If you want long term profit, then start buying bitcoin, ETH, Zcash, Monero and Dash. These coins can give you a very high return in long term.

Secondly, start learning trading. This one method will give you unlimited profits during your free times. If you don't know how to trade, go to youtube and you will find a lot of training videos there. Start with little investment to learn. Once you are confident about this method, start with big investment to gain more.
7025  Economy / Economics / Re: Trading Bitcoin for real estate? on: August 05, 2017, 06:09:00 PM
I am wondering how many of you are selling your bitcoins to buy something solid like real estate as backup investment? spread the eggs!

I doubt any builder will accept bitcoin as a payment of a real estate, at least not in my country. The house I am currently living in as a tenant, will cost 24 bitcoins, if I want to buy. So it's a huge amount for sure.

However, I have been saving bitcoins from a long time now since the price was at 450 USD. So I believe, if I keep doind the same activities for another 5-7 years to come, I would be able to pay a big chunk of my house price from my bitcoin savings only. It will help me take a less amount of bank loan and also the EMI amount will be lowered.
7026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New York City Employee Disciplined For Mining Bitcoin at Work on: August 04, 2017, 09:56:50 PM
I don't see any issue on the actions taken by the DOE against the employee. Rather I am shocked that DOE only punished him for just $611 and nothing else. He didn't loose his job. If the similar thing happens with any private company, he would have lost his job for sure.

However, I also support the company because he was supposed to be working for the entire duration in the office and not mining. We all need to learn how to keep our online and offline life separate. Earn from your day job and use your free time for bitcoins. That makes complete sense.
7027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the future on: August 04, 2017, 08:44:50 AM
Do you think friends, in which year Bitcoin will completely absorb all the finances of the planet's system?BTC

Bitcoin doesn't simply have the power to absorb this planet's finances. It can create a parallel economy and make few people rich worldwide. But it simply can't replace the current economic system for sure.

Bitcoin will never be accepted in most of the countries because they don't have control on bitcoin. Governments won't allow something to enter their economy which they don't control. So, bitcoin will never be able to become a mainstream currency. It will remain as an wonderful investment asset like today.
7028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinbase Faces Backlash, Legal Risk Over Bitcoin Cash on: August 02, 2017, 10:58:36 PM
That's not good because I believe coinbase has made it clear from the beginning that they are not going to support BCC. The people who are angry, is just trying to make some extra money because now they have realized that BCC is also valuable. So they lost the chance to receive free money.

Also coinbase has not stopped anyone from transferring their money to a different location in order to get BCC. This is utter non sense by some greedy people. I too have a little amount of bitcoin over there. People need to be more sensible and updated with the current news.
7029  Economy / Economics / Re: could bitcoin be replaced by another crypto currency? on: August 02, 2017, 09:48:52 AM
I don't see that imminent but yes, that could be possible in future times. As of now I don't see any competitor of bitcoin in any way but in future times, when bitcoin will not be mined, that is very much possible.

ETH is the closest competitor to bitcoin as per the market cap but not as per the price. However, I won't be surprised if ETH takes over bitcoin in long run. Bitcoin is minable till 2023. After that, ETH or any other coin with cutting-edge technology can take over bitcoin. It is not impossible.
7030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On 1st of August, does Bitcoin gonna be faster? and lower fee's? on: August 01, 2017, 10:21:22 AM
So to my question, what actually happen in plain words?

Does Bitcoin faster now? Lower fees? is every thing fixed? or it's the same old Bitcoin that can take hours to transfer a coin from one wallet to another?

It is not the right time to say anything now. As of now bitcoin network is congested and transactions are not faster than before. However, in one or two days, after tracking the situation, we will be able to determine the actual scenario.

As per coinmarketcap, the BTC dominance has decreased by 1%. Monitor the situation and you will come to know. I have few bitcoins in my offline wallet and I am not planning to move it anywhere now. By this weekend, I am planning for a transaction. Lets see what happens then.
7031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin. SegWit is the AltCoin. on: July 31, 2017, 10:42:09 PM
BCC is in total agreement with Satoshi's Whitepaper.  SegWit is a wild deviation very far indeed from the whitepaper.  Why do people insist on calling Core's Bitcoin the 'real' bitcoin.  Bitcoin Cash is going to rule because on chain scaling will prove fine while Core Blockstream's altcoin will burn in flames.  Don't sell your BCC.

Nothing is flawless in this world, so a person or system needs to be upgraded to function properly in a dynamic environment. I believe that's what happened to bitcoin. With SegWit activated, bitcoin will be ready to perform better than previous systems. That overhaul was needed because transaction fees was getting higher and confirmation time was becoming longer.

We all know that, in this world only fittest can be survived and thrived. Anything less effective will have to be replaced by a more effective system. Bitcoin's price was crashing due to all the faults in the system. And now you can see the market is riding high with expectation. SO even if bitcoin deviates from the Satoshi's whitepaper. We are going to support bitcoin.
7032  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a good investment you can do with BTC? on: July 30, 2017, 04:19:06 PM
Hello everyone!

So lets someone has some bitcoins maybe worth about 100 to 500$. What could be the investment do where the bitcoin holder is quite new to the crypto currency world and want to get guaranteed profit from the investment.

I know that holding bitcoins are good, but what are other good investments you can make with bitcoins?

Would like to know what you guys about this.

Thanks!

There is no good investment in Bitcoin other than holding or trading. Gambling will also help you to earn some. However, never invest a single penny in to cloud mining company or in a ponzi scheme. You will end up loosing money and nothing else.

If you don't know much about trading, then just earn bitcoin and hold that in a safe place. That will help you to increase the value over time. But avoid any kind of investment which offers you a daily return of some percentage from your invested amount. They are all ponzi and scam.
7033  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin on AUG 1 - Blockchain.info wallet? on: July 30, 2017, 03:39:51 PM
Hey guys, I just wanted to know if It's safe for me to keep my bitcoin in this wallet, I have the Seed and recovery phase or whatever..

I too had the similar question in mind and hence I posted a similar thread like you.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2051882

Check the thread and you will find a lot of answers which may help you to understand the situation. Among all suggestions, I see that moving my funds to Electrum wallet is easy and reliable. So I did that. The best part of electrum wallet is that, you don't need too download the blockchain. Just download and use it.

I am not sure how they are going distribute BCC, but I will be happy if my bitcoin holding is safe.
7034  Economy / Economics / Re: What must happen so that cryptocurrencies are less volatile? on: July 29, 2017, 07:17:06 PM
What would it take?

Does the volatility settle if certain amount of merchants accept payments in crypto? Or should there be more people that would get paid in crypto? OR should there be a cryptoeconomy where people and businesses get income in crypto and spent the crypto?

Furthermore, could the volatility be even solved? I mean of more and more people are getting into Bitcoin, when would such demand cycle cool down?

I would like to know the economics behind it.

I believe crypto currencies will remain volatile for ever because no one is going to regulate them. Why real world currencies are less volatile? because they are regulated by the government authority and also these currencies are backed up by some real asset like Gold. So they are less volatile.

On the other hand, crypto currencies are volatile and that's what makes them special. There is no regulatory authority for the crypto currencies. So the volatility creates a lot of trading and hedging opportunities. I believe, crypto currencies will be less attractive if the price is stable. Volatility is what makes it attractive and traders around the world can play around it.
7035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where will you keep your bitcoins on D Day? on: July 29, 2017, 07:11:06 PM
I was confused with the same thing because I use both offline and online wallets. So someone suggested me to use Electrum wallet and transfer all my online fund to that wallet.

The best thing about electrum wallet is that, it is light. You don't need to download any blockchain to your computer. I have just installed one and about to transfer my online funds to that wallet soon. I hope I will receive a good amount of BCC because I am going to hold a good amount of bitcoin in my electrum wallet.
7036  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Should exchanges be trusted anymore? on: July 29, 2017, 04:35:43 PM
Had been in a dilemma after seeing BTC-E's owner being arrested for a $4 Billion money-laundering fraud which he had been conducting, who knows that from when. First Mt Gox, then Bitfinex then Poloniex and now this, few were hacked and some had their admins only cheating their users.
Do you really think any exchanges are trustworthy anymore?

True! A lot of users are in the same dilemma I believe. But I also believe that, not all exchange admins are scammers and they try to run a business here for long term. However, the current scenario is forcing a lot of members to re-think their accountability. Since I trade a lot, I keep a good amount of balance in some exchanges.

But I always transfer at least once in a week to my own offline wallet after the weekend. I get most of my time to trade during weekends only and after weekend, I transfer any extra money above my holding threshold to my offline account. So you need to set a threshold for yourself, like 100 USD. Anything above that amount will be transferred and stored in your wallets just to make sure that you don't get hurt if your exchange goes down.
7037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do I need to worry about my bitcoin holding after August 1st? on: July 28, 2017, 04:15:49 PM
Hi All,

I mostly use my hardware wallet to save most of my bitcoins where I have access to my private key.

However, I also keep a good amount of bitcoin in my online BlockChain wallet for quick trading transfers.

my question is, do I need to worry about my bitcoins I hold in my online wallet? Will it be safe? What can be the consequence of of August 1st network split on my bitcoins?

Can anyone please give me an answer?

7038  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't Spend Too Much Time Trading? is that true? on: July 28, 2017, 03:50:04 PM
i'm one who spend too much time for trading. I made so many stupid mistakes because of thinking emotionally instead of logically. Cry
what is your opinion?

Well, that a relative phase. If you are making mistakes and not getting much profit, you may think that you are spending too much time in trading and that's frustrating. You are true as per your situation. However, it may change if you start getting desired profits from your trading activities.

I don't spend much time trading because I have a day job and I earn a decent salary from my job which takes care of my daily expenses. And whatever I earn from my trading activities, goes in to my savings. So for me, the more time I devote towards my trading, the more profit I make.
7039  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your trading strategy? on: July 28, 2017, 03:10:47 PM
Tell us or me what your trading strategy is

I do small gains on large dips but that's a risky move, sometimes I climb the mountain when the price rises or when news opens up.

I'm curious what others do to gain money.

I keep my eyes and mind open every time and track the market almost everytime, even at my office. That's my strategy to trade. Also patience is very crucial because traders need to have patience. Without patience, you will tend to make drastic step which may not earn you anything.

Market tracking is very important because then only you will be able to notice the trading opportunities and make use of it. Also you may look for arbitraging. Where you can buy frm one exchange at a lower price and immediately sell at another exchange at a higher price. Google it and you will learn arbitraging.
7040  Economy / Economics / Re: If California made a digital currency which coin would you model it after on: July 28, 2017, 03:02:10 PM
I don't see any practicality of creating a new currency which is cloned and also CA is the part of USA, whose currency is considered to be one of the most strongest. Why would CA loose that opportunity? Also if the currency takes a hit from the worldwide population, then the economy of CA will be in danger.

If a country tries to create an original crypto currency along with the conventional currency system, it is better to experiment but not without the original currency they already have in place. So if the experiment fails, they will have something to make use of. If CA moves to create it's own digital currency, the consequence will not be good in any way.
