7021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What cryptocurrency would you engage to gamble in? on: September 01, 2018, 02:36:08 PM
I've seen a lot of people talk about BTC gambling, but is it that there are lots of cryptocurrencies to gamble in and not only Bitcoin? Although I know the answer for this, and maybe a lot of people as well know the answer to this, but I'd leave the answers to those who are eager to enlighten those who have little knowledge and information about this.

So what do you think? What cryptocurrency should be recognized and should be gambled with?

While most casinos allow you the option to play with Dogde, Eth, Ltc I yet would stick with Bitcoins. One of the primary reason is I trust bitcoins, it's easy to trade and its prices don't remain stagnant. I personally don't like alts, cause once they crash thier recovery takes ages, plus not all like to buy alts trading them is a problem. However if you like to play with alts or want to test out alts then I would suggest only use popular alts like dodge, eth and ltc, also make sure your casino accepts it before you purchase to play.
7022  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To sell or not? on: September 01, 2018, 11:19:30 AM
I earned a few bitcoins in the new project. I'm newcomers to this. Prompt you need to sell or worth the wait?

I would advise you against selling your coins, current valuation of bitcoins is really cheap you won't incur good profits if you sell them now. I have always seen bitcoins grow towards end of the year, and now a new resistance level seems to be forming around 6.5k, if Sec approves CBOE ETF prices are bound to rise tremendously, no one really makes bitcoins in the short term, it's always the long term they make money.
7023  Economy / Economics / Re: Please, we should not totally eliminate fiat currency on: September 01, 2018, 03:17:05 AM
From what I have seen so far in this forum and other crypto platforms, most of us want fiat eliminated. But let us not forget that there are still situations whereby we can't use crypto except fiat like in rural places without computers or even internet facilities.

Yes it's true some people have posted about eliminating fiat, but those are 1% of the entire community, I do not share their views, and it'll never happen. It's pertinent to remember that fiat can be printed, and is practically unlimited, however bitcoins on the other hand is not. One can do odd jobs, and earn fiat however bitcoins is not affordable by all, also it's not easy to earn them. One of the biggest obstacles in enforcing cryptos for all is, that not all governments welcome it and hence this idea of eliminating of fiat can never take place.
7024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your Experience with Bitcoin Fees? on: August 31, 2018, 05:12:41 PM
I just did a transaction where I paid 1 cent in fees and it confirmed on the next block. Not only that but the next block came within half a minute of me doing my transaction.

The whole thing was almost implausibly good.

Generally, I always worry about fees but they never amounted to much in my experience of bitcoin. I don't do anything special. I use the latest stable version of bitcoin core and let it calculate the fees for me, I just use default settings.

According to bitinfocharts the average is $1, but my transaction of 160 something bytes only took 0.01 cents.

According to https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ I should have paid 4 satoshis per byte, amounting to 0.04 cents.

I have been doing a few transactions myself, and I use Electrum wallet, and I never bother to set up fees as it selects the lowest fees always. A few days back I was paying slightly higher fees, and these days it's barely few satoshis, but transaction confirmation is taking longer than a day. It's good to see the blocks are being mined so quickly, and confirmations are happening so fast, I'll test again soon and post how long it took.
7025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: August 31, 2018, 07:19:16 AM
ManU will face against Juventus & Ronaldo. What a match this will be.Barcelona vs Spurs will be another lit match.Rma will face Roma in the group stage.I really think this draw is fucking awesome.I am looking forward to all these matches. There is no doubt UCL is the best football league in the world.

I'm really excited to see Ronaldo return back to Old Trafford how I wish he had returned back to the club, but his mere presence will surely excite all fans. If the current Manchester United defenders continue to perform like this, I'm sure Juventus will hammer us 5 -10 nil. Another match that'll be keenly contested is PSG vs Liverpool though it'll be billed as Neymar vs Salah. Juventus and PSG will be under tremendous pressure to win it, as they have spend massively on their players and not winning the league means sacking of their managers.
7026  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A beginner question on: August 31, 2018, 03:04:41 AM
Hello, I'm sorry if this has been asked before.
In short, I will need to receive some money from a friend in bitcoins then I will need to withdraw that amount in cash.
I have downloaded and installed the "Bitcoin Wallet" app from Android. But I don't see any option there for withdrawal.

Am I in the right direction?

Thanks in advance

Hey you're definitely not in the right direction, you have downloaded some spammy wallet you should uninstall it immediately, download only electrum wallet, follow all the instructions write down your seed and pin somewhere safe. I hope you're aware buying and selling involves fees in bitcoins, for transferring it to cash you can use localbitcoins.com or use currency exchange here, but both places read thier reviews.
7027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 30, 2018, 02:14:36 PM
It was good to see Andy Murray get through his 1st round match in 4 sets.

Interesting news. I checked and he did win a 4 set match. But it was closed and he has problems with the sweeping heat across US West Coast. I'm sure it will make a toll on those players not used to playing with extreme heat.

Yes, Murray might find it hard with the heat as he has struggled sometimes in the past with the heat but then again I think most players do. Verdasco will be a tough next up opponent that will test Murray's fitness. Hopefully he makes it through the match okay.

Federer won comfortably as well, 6-2 6-2 6-4 against Nishioka. Interesting to see his comments:

Quote
"I'm very happy with how I played tonight. It is particularly tough for us Europeans because we don't get this type of humidity. You are sweating so much you don't know what has hit you," Federer said.

"It is tough so you are happy when you survive a day like this."

https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/45338492

So he admitted that they are really affected by the weather, so its going to be extremely hard for others not to be affected by this bad weather. So let's see if. there are going to be upsets as Kemarit is implying.

Andy Murray is lucky that he made it past the first round considering his recent struggles to keep himself fit, and I thought the heat would be too much for him but luckily he managed to pass through it. I don't expect him to last much, considering the humidity factor he'll be out soon. Roger had a comfortable match, but his comments suggest he had a hard time. It'll be interesting to see how other athletes adjust to the humid conditions.
7028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin will delete all the others monetary systems ? on: August 30, 2018, 11:26:45 AM
I recently read [/] "An Order-of-Magnitude Estimate of the Relative Sustainability of the Bitcoin Network" , from Hass McCook .

In this book , he made a detailed study about estimating the durability and cost of the Bitcoin network.
He compares Bitcoin against the gold industry, the banking system and the production of physical currency.
And , Bitcoin is by far the most energy efficient monetary system we have ever made !
Here are some numbers:

Banking system: 23340 million GJ (energy consumed) + 390 million T of CO²
Bitcoin mining: 3.6 million GJ (energy consumed) + 0.6 million T CO².

 Grin Grin Grin

I don't know yours opinions about that , but I'm really excited , I want that erveryone know that !  Grin Grin

While there may be merits in the authors book regarding the energy consumption between Bank, and that of mining of a Bitcoin he's wrong to say when he says, Bitcoins will only be the monetary system. Like so many before the author, have failed to take under consideration the fact that Bitcoins is limited, not all have access to it, and we value bitcoins in fiat,  also pertinent to note not all countries accept it.

I do understand your point op considering that Bitcoin miners are often made to feel guilty over the electricity they consume, but understand it fiat is irreplaceable.
7029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: August 30, 2018, 09:35:10 AM
India vs England 4th test match is starting today and in this test match i am again backing india to be on top and win this test match and level the series 2-2...they have got the momentum from the last test match and can press on that

This would be a do or die match for India as if they lose out this match they will lose the series and if they are able to draw or win the match then they will still if in the hunt for the 5th test match and that would be a big match as all stakes will go on that final match for the series.

The match between England and India will be a keenly contested match, team England are wounded by their defeat they suffered last match, I'm expecting them to rain fire on team India. On the other hand the Asian side has shown determination and efforts can win them the match, for me it's England who're favourites to win, as time after time team India has lost their momentum, then again I won't discount them too this young Indian side can throw plenty of surprises.
7030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 30, 2018, 03:02:17 AM
^  Maybe he means Chelsea won't be letting Hazard go now that they can't acquire players to fill the gap he leaves once he's out.

But he could go next season, or maybe even this January...?  I wonder who Sarri's interested in.  I could be somebody from his past club imo.

Well Chelsea have managed to keep Hazard for this season, I don't think Hazard will leave in January unless Chelsea are way below in premier league table, or have been knocked out of Champions League, however if Chelsea are competing for both he'll stay and help them win.

In another transfer news alexandre lacazette has been rumoured to move on as he's feeling he may not get many chances to play at Arsenal, I believe the new system will force Ozil out too.

Did you'll see the Respect Respect Respect of Jose in front of media personnel, well I sympathise with him he's under tremendous scrutiny but that conference was bizarre, so far he's receiving backing of all but so did Van Gull and we know what happened in the end.

DDoS attack over?

No, but for now I'm successfully filtering it.

Has Cloudflare had an effect on DDOS attacks at all? I'm guessing there's been a few attempts since it was introduced, but we haven't noticed. I haven't used cloudflare, but I assume they let you know if there is an unusual amount of traffic happening?

CF stops all sub-layer-7 attacks, which is somewhat useful. But I was doing pretty well at stopping those on my own. What caused me to switch to Cloudflare in the first place was tens of thousands of IPs doing things which seemed indistinguishable from real-world traffic. For those layer-7 attacks, Cloudflare has been a mixed bag.

First of all, I can enable the "checking your browser" thing, and that stops almost all attacker traffic. But that also breaks noscript browsers and bots, so I don't like to do it too much. Skilled attackers can also sometimes get through that, though I think that it does require a proof-of-work.

Cloudflare is honestly not very good at detecting attack traffic. You'd think that they'd be able to detect things like a huge influx of IPs that are not the regular visitors, or IPs that are not used for regular traffic on any of CF's sites, or a bunch of weird request patterns that have never been done before in the history of the site. I feel like I'd be able to write this kind of general detection code if I had a year to dedicate to it, and I'm not a giant corporation. So that's a disappointment. But nobody else is better AFAIK. I talked to Incapsula at length, and their tech is AFAICT basically the same as Cloudflare, but a lot more expensive.
It's a DDoS.

I suspected this was the reason after initial 30 minutes of not being able to access the site I decided to see if there was any update on twitter, last time in a similar situation we had gotten a update there. I'm glad the site is up and running for all, this is the second big Ddos attack on this site in two years, but im glad thermos got it up in time.

I was planning to take Ddos for my site but after reading this review I feel it's not worth to take it for my website thanks theymos for the detailed explanation.
7032  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 6800 $, in a month $ 10,000, and after two $ 15,000. on: August 29, 2018, 07:13:45 AM
I've been watching the crypt movement on the market for a very long time and that's what I noticed. During this year there were four waves of take-off and fall of bitcoins, and this takeoff, truthfully slow, is the forerunner of the fifth wave of bitcoin takeoff. I think its cost in a month, and maybe even earlier will reach $ 10,000. Then takeoff will be much faster and swift. And how do you think about this.

No one knows with an absolute certainty what will happen in the crypto world, while many were expecting prices to come down due to Sec rejection of Bitcoins ETF, nothing happened, in fact prices have been steadily been climbing up. As we'll can see it's already crossed 7k mark after a very long time, all it's need stability and positive news, if it can find support at 7k then I'm sure it'll go up to 10k but it'll take time.
7033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why martingale is PURE SHIT. on: August 29, 2018, 03:42:15 AM
We keep getting threads about how martingale or martingale-like strategies work, and no matter how many times I (and others) explain it; we still get people saying that it works.

For example:

yes, I think the martingale strategy is more suitable for playing dice because by doing this strategy we can manage the betting money we have well even though this strategy is quite risky but this strategy has been widely used by gamblers

Or

... Martingale works in your normal life, but it doesn't work in online gambling where wins are calculated by a computer that does it for all players at once every second.
If you throw a coin and martingale the strategy will seem to work. Try doing it in online gambling like dice and you'll go broke.

With this post, I want to point out and emphasize why it is a pointless strategy: using martingale, you constantly increase your risk to earn proportionally less.

Let’s say that you bet $1 for heads, you toss a coin and lose. For the second bet, you are risking double ($2) to have a net profit of $1. That is the key point and if someone doesn’t understand it I will explain it in more detail. If you lose, in your third bet you are going to risk $4 to have a net profit of $1, and so on. This calculations are made thinking of you playing to toss coins with a fried but if you play in a casino, you have to take into account that the potential profit for one bet is less than 1$.

There is no point in betting for increased risk and decreased potential net profit.

I am sure that we will keep getting shitthreads about how martingale works but I hope some of you understand it and never use that shitstrategy.

This is a very nice detailed post and I'm sure many will now understand the perils of using this dumb strategy. I remember my early gambling strategy and all kept suggesting me Martingale saying they made loads of money, but once I saw it I knew this was a loss making strategy. I'll agree with you there're many people who have posted merits about Martingale, and will keep on posting about it, I hope all read this and understand it perils.
7034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CNBC new documentary "Bitcoin : Boom Or Bust" on: August 28, 2018, 07:11:29 AM
There is a new documentary about Bitcoin done by CNBC. I know some of you will say "Oh CNBC....!" but I think it's what makes it interesting to watch.
It's supposed to be on the air today August 27th. I have CNBC channels but don't know when we can watch it, damn, any American citizen can tell me the listing program or tell if CNBC has a replay program LOL.

 https://twitter.com/CNBC/status/1033445156274532352/video/1
Quote
THIS DOCUMENTARY IS A REVEALING JOURNEY THAT IS AS INFORMATIVE AS IT IS ENTERTAINING AND UNEXPECTED. IT OFFERS VIEWERS A RARE LOOK INTO THE WILD WORLD OF BITCOIN, DISCOVERING THE UNUSUAL LANDSCAPE AND CHARACTERS THAT SURROUND IT, AND FINALLY, ALLOWING VIEWERS TO TAKE THEIR OWN SIDE IN THE CRAZE FOR CRYPTOGRAPHY.

I'm one of those persons who would have said oh CNBC cause this channel mostly follows government directions, and normally I would not be interested to watch it, but since lots of Americans are suddenly interested in cryptos we could expect something positive from this documentary. I just hope this is not another blatant attempt to spread fud, and bring down the prices, also I'm keen to know what Rare look will they show, as if the community doesn't know it all, or can't google to read it all.
7035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion [Odds updated!] on: August 28, 2018, 04:50:07 AM

There is going to be a unhappy ending for sure but the more I read on net more confused I get some say Bran will be killed in second or third episode, then others say Danny will be pregnant and will die, Jamie will die and kill night king. There's just to much and it's one hell of a wait. Nitrogen has the odds out already? Or are they planning to release it.

I also think the same. My bets are on Jon. He already died once and he will die again to save Danny. Once he does what his god wants, he'll have no use for him and rest in peace. I would prefer Danny dying but I am not seeing it. I hope I am wrong on this one.

Bran's death won't achieve anything. He'll get old just like the other 3Eyed Raven before him. He already lost his legs, c'mon...

Who will rule in the end?

The bitch will.

The more we discuss more confusion and excitement prevails, post the season 7, I had searched the net for theories and scripts and most of them suggested Danny would be pregnant, and from what I read Bryan as stubborn he is will try to get into dragon mind, and pick a fight with the night king but the night king soldiers will kill him. Arya and the hound go on their mission to kill cersei and the mountain respectively. Queen Danny is send off to some island to protect her not sure how that'll help, but what I really want to see is Jons face when he comes to know Danny is his aunt and they just had a incest affair.
7036  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 Treasure Chest Is Back! 🎰🎰🎰 on: August 27, 2018, 04:57:53 PM
ToS issue not fixed from my side, and yes I use Google Chrome. I only have 1 other browser and there is something wrong with it so I can't find out if it's a browser issue. I'm on office (mine but belongs to office) so can't install anything else.

Poker, sportsbook, whatever is added is for sure good for the site IF it is a good offering. I would play both. Poker is difficult to get right though, but I don't see it as competing interest for other games. I could bet sports, autobet dice a few rounds while waiting for poker rounds. Poker would keep you active on site actually.

Poker is probably something not worth it unless we've already got a big playerbase.

I agree, also you will be competing against the old and established poker sites
even if you have a big playerbase, there is no guarantee they would play poker  at Bitdice or play poker at all
sportsbook is a much better choice- a gambler can put an occasional bet from time to time
and it doesn't require that much of a maintenance, no need to fight cheaters that much (compared to online poker) etc.

This is a smart and long term planning approach, and like I said I have barely seen poker requests in this thread or on the site. As Boxxob has mentioned the player base is not big enough for the site to add poker, and it takes lot of time and money to get poker in the site, and if the returns are not good or negligible then I feel this is a good decision. There's no merit in the argument that poker will keep site users active, as Bitdice is not known for poker, and it would lead to unnecessary comparison with other poker sites.

I think we all should focus now on the upcoming sports bet, as we have a official confirmation of it coming soon.
7037  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safest Way To Access A Wallet... on: August 27, 2018, 10:39:53 AM
I do some bounties and airdrops... Also I have received some tokens to my wallet. But I saw some people have lost their tokens from their wallet without knowing. They told the wallets were hacked. So how to access a wallet very safe with a web browser? Also how to keep it safe?

Hey there's no guaranteed way to stop a phishing attack, however you can take precautions like keeping your computer clean, having a strong anti virus in place, and most important avoiding suspicious sites, and emails that are spam/scam.

However best way would be to create a electrum wallet, do not use your wallet on a public wifi, never share your seed, private key and pin with anyone else.

However if you're yet not comfortable then make a paper wallet, I personally don't like it, so use it as a last resort.
7038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin uses too much energy? on: August 27, 2018, 08:31:07 AM
https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/7xmvbq/bitcoin-energy-science-world-electricity-demand

Now Motherboard is not the best source for news, but let's consider the implications of this...

Consuming immense amounts of energy is actually somewhat counterproductive if we consider the vision of Bitcoin giving us tools for independence. And it's somewhat unethical because we should not be using more than we need on this earth.

However, we don't really know how much energy it is consuming at this stage, so this could just be another reporter trying to find a story.

Hey there is no way to determine that Bitcoins is consuming a huge amount of electricity, for all I know this is another attempt by the media to deter bitcoin miners. They're playing psychological game with their minds, and are you telling me that Banks do not consume more energy, if it's put to test I'll wager you to the fact that banks are consuming more energy than bitcoins. Also the article mentions energy used is equivalent to 9 millions Austrians using it, this is absurd as all miners are mining from different operations, there's not even one ounce of merit in this story.

Red Bul announced that Pierre Gasly will replace Ricciardo in next season. Well, I can't call it as suprise. Gasly is young driver with good potential, but it's obvious that he will be No. 2 in the team.
LTU_btc...  I think I'll be owing you 20 bucks anytime soon now.  But I'm still rooting for Max Verstappen to get more points this season vs Ricciardo to breakeven.  Wink
Everything is still possible, only 13 pointsbetween them. And I would predict that in rest part of the season will mainly focus on Max car when they know that Ricciardo will leave team after end of season.

And by the way, after one month summer break F1 finally returns in upcoming weekend in legendary Spa track.

Indeed Gasly arrival at a Red Bull is not much of a surprise and you're right he'll the No 2 in the team. Did you'll watch yesterday's race, Hamilton started at the pole yet it was Vettle and his super fast Ferrari that won. I have to admit that was some super speed, and Mercedes need to work on speeding up their cars, what do you'll say @LTU_btc & @tokeweed. Also in other news of yesterday's race Nico Hulkenberg has been Given grid penalty for crashing into Fernando Alonso, luckily none of them got injured. It seems the race for the title has just heated up, and this is exciting for all fans.

Nobody interested in Italian legaue
What a great Napoli performance against Milan
From 0-2 to 3-2
Ancelloti is playing in very offensive way
Nice to watch
Cristiano move to Italy should bring back the fans for the serieA and we are seeing that since Real Madrid have recorded their lowest attendance in a game since the arrival of Ronaldo in 2009. Yesterday both games were entertaining. I liked Inter and Torino match, despite the draw Inter performed good enough interest scored a goal from a dead ball by the strength of individualism like Icardi and Perisic made their team advanced from the beginning then theor dominance in first half got them their second goal while in 2nd half Torino got more serious and they went in another breath that saw them later losing a big chance to win the game after they took their chances and scored back the two goals for the draw Spaletti need to change the tactics little bit and not relay only on crosses if he wants to keep his job.

I'm bit surprised even after the arrival of Ronaldo I'm not seeing much activity on social media or even fans of him, if you look at his match performance he disappointed me he had a good chance to score with the heel finish but he didn't, even his stats were bad. Inter vs Torino was a really pulsating match, my interest grew since Persic was linked to United and his World Cup display, and he's an amazing player. I enjoyed the draw Torino however could have won, but in the end moneys worth match.
