7041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [RUMORS] MANNY PACQUIAO WILL SUPPORT BITCOIN AND WILL HAVE HIS OWN TOKEN on: March 12, 2018, 03:36:55 PM
I just read it today but I dont know if it is true, but what can you say about it ? Is it a good idea?

Where did you read it?? Do you have the link to this?
All I found related is: http://blocktribune.com/crypto-firm-gcox-signs-manny-pacquiao/

In the note, there is said it is a kind of "Celebrity tokens", and it is done by an exchanger page. The goal seems to be to sell tokens based on celebrities.
I don't see this as a serious project, and they don't explain in detail what it is about!
7042  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satoshibones is a disaster on: March 11, 2018, 03:46:42 PM
Not only satoshibones, almost all bitcoin sites are nuts now day with fees. I had bad experience with sites like nitrogensports and localbitcoins.

In nitro, had to pay 0.001 for each withdrawal, that's just too much ($8), and they try to fix it but leave 0.0005 as fee for withdraw. The fun fact is they are blocking all withdrawals now and making their security area review the account before withdraw, i don know how long that will take but while that happen they have my money stuck.

In localbitcoins is worst, because they charge deposit fees  Undecided i understand the withdraw fees, but the deposit ones are non sense, just a theft... So, if you have to pay 0.001 for depo and 0.001 for withdraw, this site charges close to $18 just to move the money.

Satoshibones are right with the recommendation about bitcoin cash, looks like the cheap way to move coins now days because bitcoin is just doomed with this sites fees.
7043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum on: March 10, 2018, 04:25:23 PM
The long time king of the Cryptocurrency seems to be struggling now to keep up with the pressure of some of other cryptocurrencies.

Ethereum seems to be the most challenging opponent for Bitcoin right now and Bitcoin seems to fall apart against it. In a few past days its been clear that with the up of Ethereum, Bitcoin falls and that clearly indicates that finance is being transferred from Bitcoin to Ethereum.

Earlier that was not the case, earlier whenever Bitcoin goes up, it used to pull all the cryptos with it but now things are changing, Ethereum clearly is now out of the league of Bitcoin and is in its own now and is pulling the finance from BTC.

For me. This is the ideal time to invest in Ethereum.

I agree with you (mostly) since Ethereum seems to be growing up with strong and steady steps. Now, as "being out of the league of Bitcoin", I can't see the way you are. First of all because of BTC is still the number one despite other -and better alts-. It is still the biggest one and the one around conversations are having a place.
I don't see Ethereum (at least not in a short time) bitting BTC in any way, just because, for most of the society Crypto equals Bitcoin and the other alts seems to somehow invisible for now.
So, that's precisely why investing on Ethereum, to me, is the wisest step: for now, is still under the BTC's shadow but soon enough people will realize how big it is and it will have a really big pump.
7044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: new holder of panic on: March 10, 2018, 02:55:27 PM
earlier this year I tried to hold some coins and tokens but saw the market and the exchange getting downhill, what is the best move to sell it or hold it?

Sometimes it feels impossible just to stay idle as the coins prices are going up and down each minute. That's when panic selling begins from those who do not have the patience and their losses mean the winning of someone else. So, in order to do not lose your money, then HODL for as much time as you can. Some cryptos, as BTC or ETH, for instance -let's say- are now better for long-term investments.
Maybe it is a pump coming, maybe not. All we can really know for sure those days is the price is not enough for selling and winning some succulent profits, so it is better to wait and see, especially if you bought your bitcoin at a high price.
Now, for all in this life circumstance matters. Sometimes we don't have enough cash and we need to sell, even when this is not the perfect moment. So just take in consideration your needs, but, if you can: just hold!!
7045  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit?? on: March 10, 2018, 02:44:12 PM
Hello guys, how can I give a merit?? Help me.

Given the concern about merits, there are here in the forum a lot of topics related to this matter. My advice should be for you to read even before posting anything, for repeating, again and again, the same topics are contaminating the forum. Just take a look on the meta section and on this one, search on the browser and look for all the answers that have been already given.
7046  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legalizing Bitcoin on: March 10, 2018, 03:07:00 AM
Do you think governments are afraid legalizing bitcoin because it's difficult regulating its use, circulation, determining individual's worth, earnings and may lead to tax evasion?
I don't think they are "afraid" (well, we can talk about all governments in one). I believe there is general interest in trying to determinate the legal situation of bitcoin, but is going to take a while. It is not easy to determinate how new "money" is going to fit into the economic system of a country. It takes a lot of bureaucracy, and maybe is going to take more than a few years.
7047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "The shape of bitcoin", by Satoshi Nakamoto on: March 10, 2018, 02:21:57 AM
No, Satoshi Nakamoto is not an AI or a group of people. No, he is a real human being and he is not dead.
Satoshi is writing a book, named 'The shape of bitcoin' explaining his motivations and disclosing many secrets we didn't know.
He will reveal his work ready to be published as a book if the funds in his genesis block address reach a valuation of 21 million US dollars.
He intends to give all this raised money to the charity 'GiveDirectly', based in Africa.
It seems Satoshi is antecipating being found and decided to surprise the world before that.
Satoshi is a great writer. Believe me.

Do you have the font of this?? Sounds really REALLY interesting!! please, if you can, share as soon as possible!

thanks

7049  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The english language improvement thread on: March 09, 2018, 05:09:29 PM
Spelling in English can be tricky.
I think that one of the best ways for improving posts of non-native English speaker, is to install additional dictionary plug-in for a browser.
Super simple and very effective way. Unfortunately it won't be much help with grammar, that's for additional extensions to take care of.
Still, with correct spelling even broken grammar won't affect the core of ones massage. It might be obvious to most but IMO worth to mention.

How about listing the best language tools/extensions for browsers?
Never tried any of those (although I should), is it worth the hassle?

BTW this thread is a great idea.

There is an extension called Grammarly. It is really useful too improve your English if, like me, you're not an English-native-speaker. It makes automatical corrections to your grammar. I have only used the free one, despite they have a "premium membership" supposedly more accurate than the free one and with a lot of more applications.
Grammarly has helo me a lot, for instance with those typical mistakes, like the confusion I always have between "in" and "on".
7050  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can not replace fiat on: March 09, 2018, 04:53:37 PM
Yes, got you intrigued, didn't it?

Bitcoin is a very good thing to have as an asset. Just like gold. Even better if I may say. It's secure, and unlike fiat money it actually exists and work is put into it to produce it. This makes it great to store value.
However, it cannot and will not replace current fiat money that the entire world it using. It just cannot.
Take paying a cup of coffee for example. To pay your coffee with bitcoins, one must get bitcoins first, either by mining or buying bitcoins with other kinds of money (*cough*fiat*cough). It ends up being a quite complicated process, don't you think?
Until we reach the point where paying for a cup of coffee is as easy with Bitcoin as it is with cash, we will never get mass adoption. And as far as I see it, there is no way of simplifying the acquiring of bitcoins.

Probably soon enough payments will be done with the cell phone. I believe in ten years from now, approximately, paying with the cell phone will be something really usual. So, if the crypto world continues rising such nowadays, then is truly probable paying with them become something usual, but, of course, by using your cell phone. For instance: I can see in some years from now paying just in a machine at the exit of a restaurant. You just have to put your cell phone close to this hypothetical machine and your meal will be paid off. I don't think is difficult to achieve that, in fact, everything related to the payment system which is being developed nowadays seems to leads to this goal..
7051  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin helpful to the economy? on: March 09, 2018, 02:41:53 PM
I think Bitcoin is helpful to the economy because it helps the people, may they be employed or unemployed. It helps the people to be productive especially on their vacant times or when they are not working. Bitcoin is getting a lot if attention in many countriesnow because it really helps the people.

Of course. When a new source of richness appears, of course it helps economy in so many ways:
- People earn money, so they buy stuff.
- There is a new font of money which allows people to buy stuff, so the injection in the economy grows without the necessity of printing new paper money.

Now, the movement of money always helps economy. We can see crypto coins, for the moment, as a good people buy. Instead of buying stuff made by an enterprise, for instance, shoes, they are buying stuff which production means a lot of electrical use. In many countries, you pay for the electricity a lot of taxes (one example: Spain. In there the electricity bill includes an 80% in taxes"!!!!), so governments are receiving their piece of the cake.
Money movement always implies a lot of secondary tiny movements. Let's imagine: the electricity demand grows exponentially in a neighborhood where are some miners seeking btc. Then, they have to install new cabling in order to support demand, so they hire people for the task. Meanwhile, miners increase their earns and they buy more stuff in their neighborhood; at the same time, the electrical shop in the area has more clients, for they need new connections to their houses, so Petter, the hypothetical owner of the electrical shop, takes his family to a trip, for he has earned more this year. In the vacancy, they spent money on gasoline, clothes, food... and you can go on as far as your imagination reaches.
7052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are we repeating the 2014 BTC crash??? on: March 09, 2018, 01:56:06 AM
Watch and see how BTC is currently following the exact same trend (behavior) of the 2014 BTC crash.  The chart similarity is eerie.  Shocked

https://s3.amazonaws.com/tradingview-vid/w/wztZTcBbXCPJ1Xy1.mp4

I hope and pray we break away from it though.

We are having a crash again but isn't the same this time... We are moving under other magnitudes. Bitcoin already hit $20,000 and it had a $10,000 crash. That's tons of money lost but, people aren't sad at all because $10,000/btc isn't a bad price at all.

It still has an awesome impact on economy markets, so, if the price keeps moving under 5 digits number, people will keep an eye on it. Is just a small ball becoming bigger and bigger.
7053  Other / Meta / Re: Merittalk.org - New Board Request on: March 09, 2018, 01:41:20 AM
I counted approximately 350 threads only in meta about merit, and it seems that merit threads are popping out in other boards as well.
Can we have new board for merit discussion/ideas/merit sharing etc?
Sorry if someone already mentioned this and I missed it.

Very good idea. I think the "merit issue" is not going to decay, due to the new incomers we all see coming everyday. Nevertheless, I don't believe it will completely solve the problem, for most of the newbies here not even stop and read before posting whatever they have on their minds.
It should be necessary, then, new moderators dedicated to this board to takes the task of moving all new merit topics into the "merit board".
Also, it can be a good place for newbies to achieve their goal of ranking up, for we can give merits to their best threads.

Good point. I would like to see it happening!!
7054  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie with lot of problems on: March 08, 2018, 03:49:20 PM
I am facing some problem about 'Activities' and 'Merits'
Really hard without anyone help .
Help Me.

It is really easy: read before posting. There are a lot of posts here on the forum regarding what you ask. So, before launching here again the same question, just take a look of the "Meta" section or here, "Newbies and help".
I'm sure you will find all the information you are seeking for.
Remember: this place is not to earn but to learn. If you come here with the will of learning and make useful posts, then, for sure, you will earn!
7055  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to earn Bitcoin without investing?? on: March 07, 2018, 03:30:34 PM

7056  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction: Bitcoin will hit 100K on: March 07, 2018, 03:14:56 PM
Hey guys I want your opinion on this prediction. Seems legit to me. Bitcoin is always growing in the long term.
Why not hit even this year 50K.
Here is the link https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/915882/bitcoin-price-prediction-cryptocurrency-bull-run-latest-stock-market-sell-off

Well it may happen.  It already reached $20 before year 2017 ends.  Bitcoin is gaining popularity that is why it is not hard that many will buy and invest with bitcoin.  If many will buy then the demand would be great.  If the demand is high then bitcoin price woupd definitely goes up.

I'm agree with you Gintron, it's most of the time based on the offer and demand, but remember we have market manipulation too, there are some whales manipulation the market.

Other fact is the bump bots, remember the first time bitcoin hit $1k before the Gox, after some years, markets realized there was bots bumping bitcoin. So, a big fact is the offer and demand, but we can't just ignore the markets manipulation. Because that's what made bitcoin crash from $20k to $10k
7057  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system is not working, failed! on: March 06, 2018, 11:59:12 PM
The merit system is not working, look the merit points of people on the forum, it does not move (even for the more relevant posts), the forum established a system which was suppose to penalize newcomers flooding the forum with useless post, but the forum penalize itself, good luck everybody, If you think people will give you merit points for free you are mistaken.

I think we all must slow down with all this "merit problem". For this isn't even real. There is no problem at all.
Here in the forum there is a lot of people, thousands of them. And, everyday, we can read more and more topics related to merits which are, as less, wrong. Even when I can understand who it seems too difficult for newbies to reach a position here, it has been difficult for years.
The forum is being contaminated more and more by new posters who just want to earn some money here and, instead of new writers wanting to get some information. If all that you want here is to earn some cash, then they are a lot of other websites where you can provide your services in order to achieve that goal.

Precisely, newbies concern seems to be, almost all, how to rank out here, instead of how to earn bitcoin or learning about trading. This  is not a place just meant to earn, but a place meant to learn.
7058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how i can start?? on: March 06, 2018, 02:19:53 AM

One of them is Nitrogensports.eu, where you can find freerolls on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

7059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Share your BTC knowledge for Merits. How to earn Bitcoins on the Internet? on: March 06, 2018, 02:12:52 AM
I will give Merits for those all who show me some real ways to earn BTC on the Internet without investing. This is not about:
- Talking about mining
- Neither Investing
The point is to make a research about websites, or other ways to earn BTC on the Internet.
What I seeking here is for people to share their ways to get some free BTC. The creative ones will be recompensated with merits, of course, if the answer is useful to earn Bitcoins.

Here go some basic rules:
- All users are welcomed (does not matter the rank)
- There are no limits, I will give merits to all valuable, thoughtful and interesting proposal.
- I encourage other members to give merits too to those posts which deserve the recognition.

This is not a merit selling or something related to it. It is just a way to encourage users to think and generate useful content for everybody here (everyone loved to earn some free BTC!!!).

ICOs do not belong here. Neither trading, mining, signature campaigns, faucets, scamming and such kind of stuff. Just be creative and share the ways you use to win some BTC.

I will start. My ways to get some free bitcoins are these ones:

1.- Freerolls on Nitrogensports.eu
They offer poker freerolls on  Monday (50mbtc), Wednesday(200mbtc), Friday(50mbtc)

2.-Freerolls on betking.io
They offer freerolls every day for 5mbtc.
7060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HODL or REGRET!!! on: March 06, 2018, 01:41:26 AM

Yes, I also have such a story. I used to have a job that gave me a lot of Bitcoin, but I never invested and did not want to know about investments. At that time I was afraid if I give me a lot of money, then suddenly the price of Bitcoin will go down or Bitcoin will crash and nothing else. At that time I did not know that Bitcoin's price would be the way it is today. And if I keep Bitcoin mine at that moment, maybe now I've become a rich man. But it does not matter, because now there is still a chance. I can not continue to regret and must do my best. I have to learn from experience and gather as much Bitcoin as I can.

Same history here. I used to earn BTC and also to give them up, as a kind of present. It was like a game at the beginning. I still remember those times when people gave you 2 or 3 bitcoins as a tip!!! I don't regret I didn't hodl, for none of us could predict how it was going to rise.
But surely many people from those times would be rich now just by seeing Bitcoin as a long time investment!!
Well, not space to regret here. Now we know how this works it is time to make money, folks!
