7041  Other / Meta / Re: Is this not really paid bumping and encourage for spamming ? on: October 05, 2018, 09:27:34 PM
I feel like with the current lack of moderation going on here, that rule seems to have slipped through the net.
Most people with insubstantial posts, however, if reported do get deleted in quite a timely fashion (within a few hours) so we just have to hope that the bounty manages don't spot it before the mods do...

Offering an incentive to post in a particular thread is obviously going to turn that thread to trash immediately...
7042  Other / Meta / Re: Evolution of rank names on: October 05, 2018, 09:21:20 PM
Having another membership would really be good. However, in addition with merit, the next rank could have required for 500+ good reports which may help the forum a bit more. Not everyone uses the report button. Also, it will boost people to report more which will help to clean up the forum.

I think that that is the purpose of this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4742257.0

I do have to start using the report button more. Only posts I tend to report are ones in the altcoin section and I get frustrated at all of them quite a lot because usually when you report a thread, in the time it takes to get through all the posts on the last page and report all the crappy ones, a few new pages have sprung out of the same thread...
7043  Other / Meta / Re: Should merit source distribute all sMerit? on: October 05, 2018, 09:19:30 PM
I have just register fit to talk forum since I am not a native English speaker so this will help a lot.

This is great to see that we have some new members (or a new member at least) the fit to talk forum seemed to look like it was getting a bit dry recently (maybe I'll check on it tomorrow and see if there are any posts for me to imporve over the weekend - I assume jet cash and a few others have been doing that quite a bit though in my absence)... Let's hope we get a new boost to our community there!
7044  Other / Meta / Re: Evolution of rank names on: October 05, 2018, 09:12:13 PM
Actually yeah that's not a bad idea....
It's actually pretty good.

Maybe they could do something with the color of those coins you get on top of your username--maybe change them to red or some other color, and perhaps make that a function of merits?  That would make users stand out from the pack.

I'd suggest that for every extra 250 merits you get another of those semi-coloured coins next to your name, ending with the legend title at 2000 merits.

Maybe also onec they come up with a design for how good people are at reporting posts (or at least how many good reports they have) we could think of something theymos would have in mind and likely accept for an additional merit coloum as a printed score takes a lot longer to look at than an icon "an image says a thousand words" can be true in this case (or at least a certain number of digits)...
7045  Other / Meta / Re: Evolution of rank names on: October 05, 2018, 09:04:35 PM
We're going to need another rank above Legendary eventually (if we don't already). Not sure what it should be called, but others have suggested some titles somewhere.
I'd say just "Legend" sounds good. Or maybe just add a bold font to the current Legendary rank.

Actually yeah that's not a bad idea....

I noticed that if we include both of your accounts, your 2000 merit celebration was a bit late Grin
7046  Other / Meta / Re: Blazed remove this scammer from DT2 on: October 05, 2018, 08:52:09 PM
Lutpin was asked about this a long time ago and said he is not going to provide any kind of proof/evidence.

Then why are they still on DT2. If they say soomeone is a scammer but don't want to provide any evidence then... Post it with an alt account of something if they're embarrased by it but...

The above fact should end this conversation. At least in reference to removing mexxer because he is a "scammer". One could argue mexxer should be removed because his is inactive.....I would not though.

There is another scammer Blazed should remove though.
Ok so to summarise this.
1. You think mexxer should be removed from dt2 (how did mexxer com into this???)
2. You then think of a superposition that mexxer should and shouldn't be removed from DT also because of the time peiod that he hasn't been actibve (I'd suggest putting a security lock on his account if there isn't one already - which there probably is).
3. Where's the evidence of blazed being a scammer, or did he leave little you a negative trust recently Grin?

I just want to chime in and say that this logic is stupid, ESPECIALLY since that @Blazed is not a "confirmed" scammer, as there is no evidence or references left in those negs.

I mean he's bbarely an alleged scammer at the start of this point as there's no reference link.
I would argue that since they don't want to give a reference link they could at least include the amount that they lost. If they don't, it makes you think (1) they were paid off (2) they really don't care if the alleged scammer goes on to scam again...
7047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New coins supported on Ledger Nano S! on: October 05, 2018, 08:43:03 PM
Just wondering why Nano focus on those shitcoins, they don't even deserve to be store in hardware wallet and I think nobody cares if these shitcoins get hack.

To expose a nano private key to get the coins stored in it would be a bad thing for the hardware device. It would be about impossibly (as far as I can tell) to get the other wallets that are derived from the same seed from the private keys that you have nano stored in, however, I wouldn't have liked to risk it...

Then how about ERC-20 token support on ETH? I would prefer to easily access my tokens on Ledger live than on myetherwallet if I have ledger. Though things work for now. It might be a great feature.

EVERYONE can make an erc20 token though and they're not really that good (for most of them). You also have to pay an eth tx fee in order to send yuur tokens so I feel like it's just a way to try to push the eth price higher...
7048  Other / Meta / Re: Evolution of rank names on: October 05, 2018, 08:38:00 PM
I don't know, it's not a horrible title, but it does go along the lines of Legendary in its blandness.  There have been threads about this before, but I can't recall exactly what names have been suggested and I don't recall having heard many that I was really enthusiastic about.
I think we could do with something merit related with the new rank now - but I'm not creative enough to think of anything Grin...

At one point I absolutely thought there probably should be at least one more rank above Legendary, since with time the number of Legendaries would be huge and there wouldn't be much that was special about it.  Now, with these merit requirements that are going to have noobs pulling out their hair for years, I'm not so sure about that.  Even lower-ranked members who aren't shitposters are having a hell of a time ranking up to Sr. Member or Hero, much less Legendary.  At this point a higher-ranked title means more than ever.

I was thinkin about this, it might have been nice to demote everyone a bit at the start of the merit system as I don't feel like I've earnt my rank as much as some people like Jet Cash and even others who have ranked up to legendary from 0.
It is true that people have been short-changed by the merit system and there are some users here who actually stand out quite a bit who aren't getting anywhere near the amount of merit they need for their activity (I'm sure there's a full member I have seen quite a bit in the meta section posting good quality stuff and still only on about 100 merit and 300 activity).... Unless they've only just turned good then it is quite sad to see that this is happening.
7049  Other / Meta / Re: Evolution of rank names on: October 05, 2018, 03:01:10 PM
I wonder if we'll ever get Lamborghini Member  Grin?

You always say that Smiley. Why is it that you love that Lambo thing Wink even though we already have others that surpassed it in terms of value and styles Grin

Because it's a meme. I don't care about Lamborghinis.

We're going to need another rank above Legendary eventually (if we don't already). Not sure what it should be called, but others have suggested some titles somewhere. I think the new rank should require a very high level of activity just so it sets you apart from everyone else and so that rank doesn't become too common like Legendary has now.

Should we have Mythical / Mythic Member that can have 2k activities with 2.5k Merits. Grin ( I just came up on idea where it was also used on Mobile Legends-Mobile Game )

People have suggested Mythical / Mythic before but I'd prefer something else. You could even bump up Legendary rank and replace it with something else. Or just require much more merit to become Legendary and demote all the others who haven't achieved that.

There won't be any good in making a new rank, much like there wasn't much good in making a member rank as satisfied didn't make it so no one will aim for it Grin.
I agree that mythical is a bad name but legendary and hero are also kinda lame too...
7050  Other / Meta / Re: Link expiration on: October 05, 2018, 02:55:15 PM
could we make it so that if links are posted after about a year or two that they expire unless they're from a highly visited site
Good suggestion but how about the collateral damage to other remaining links, from genuine websites with less visits (if it's automated)?
- The only way to make that work, is having someone to check every single link "manually" from time to time and since this means more work for admins, then most likely has a very small chance of happening any time soon...

Perhaps we can have a "warning message of some sort (a pop-up upon clicking the links)".
A warning on links 2 plus years old is a good idea. A warming every time is not so much of a good one as it'll slow us down quite a bit,
7051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New coins supported on Ledger Nano S! on: October 04, 2018, 03:29:01 PM
What insecurity you actually talk when you talk about hardware wallets? Show me one example that anyone is lost any coin as a result of hacking hardware wallet? Caution is in the world of cryptocurrency most important thing, but the way you're thinking is actually paranoia...
First of all, as I understand it the ledger nano wallets show your seed on the screen so at that point, that seed should be considered compromised as it has touched the internet.
Secondly, I'm not sure how many people compile the binaries fro themselves instead of running the exectuable so they cannot determine it's safety.
Thirdly, they used to use a google chrome extension, if tere's a browser that is the worst for being infected with malware and worms it's chrome...

Ledger support Banano because it is just fork of Nano and it was easy to add it, it is not fork of ethereum network as you say - you shoud do more research before write such things. I agree that most of forked coins do not make any sense, and this is also case for Banano - but since many Nano holders get Banano I do not see why Ledger would not support this coin, there are many coins ever worse then this one.

Oh I take it back then...
Ba-nano - I get it now Grin... Cool name.
7052  Economy / Gambling / Re: YOLOdice.com ETH competition just started! on: October 04, 2018, 12:27:48 PM
I'm pretty sure the house has always had a 1% house edge, and I'm almost certain there was never a 0% house edge.

Then I've clearly fogotton the name of the other site that used to offer a zero percent house edge (to attract people in at the start - maybe I'm mixing it up with a mining pool or soemthing)...
Anyway, yes the rakeback does affect the house edge, is that for every level or just certain ones (I think you have to get to a certain level to activate it but is it every level after that that you get a rakeback)?
7053  Other / Meta / Re: Blazed remove this scammer from DT2 on: October 04, 2018, 12:18:36 PM
Any ideas why lauda and lutpin tagged you?

I do not see where they tagged me unless you are trying to say I am also mexxer?

Yes... Just like how you're theymos, darkstar, suchmoon and quickseller Grin.

No, why would you neg yourself that's just implausible. You'd make a link wherethere doesn't need to be one and something like this would arise.

Nonetheless I don't think we can go more in depth on the issue of your trust rating without lauda and lutpin saying why they negged you...
If  mexxer-2 will be removed from DT then all the negative ratings he made will also forfeit? Therefore you might be one of those who this person tagged? and by that you can easily do whatever you want like nothing happens? I think other DT's should have to tagged first those who were tagged by mexxer with a solid evidence before removing him?

A bit off-topic, but has Lutpin paid the 777Coin campaigners yet?  That's another whole issue that shouldn't concern me but does.

He did pay 777 campaigners tho I guess the payment is still lacking, While on the other campaign which is the Bitvest they weren't been paid yet to latest as of now.

I'm not entirely sure that's how the trust system works, and it's very confusing so I can't relaly be bothered to learn how it actually works...
I do know that Jet Cash got a positive trust rating from Vod when vod had a higher trust rating so he got a 5 next to his trust score, I, however, got a 2 which I'm guessing means vod lost some trust ratings along the way? Hence why I can't be bothered learning how the system works because it's too confusing too... I mgiht ahve calculated wrong somewhere also...
7054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New coins supported on Ledger Nano S! on: October 04, 2018, 11:34:01 AM

An airgapped wallet is still better than a hardware one. Even if the airgapped wallet doesn't have compatibility with the banano blockchain, it's the price you have to pay...

Although it's interesting to tee they're adding so many forks of ethereum since ethereum was already a forked coin itself...

Is it better or it is safer? Maybe this is the case if you have 1-2 wallets on airgapped device, but to have a 20-30 wallets stored in such way is only have sense for long term holding. Hardware wallets are made for daily transaction, but also for long term holding. Regarding price, for any serious user 100$ is not a problem.

The price is the insecurity not the $100. $100 isn't much of a serious investment into crypto either... I suppose if you're doing multisig with a lot of devices or you like to do a lot of trading with a lot of pairs then a hardware wallet is a good option (I'd still be cautious though)...

(Searching for banano coin I came across another currency that seems to suggest a kilo of bananas is $2 and I paid 75GBX for a kilo recently)...

Still banano is a stupid coin to support as tryninja says when there are those two others that are quite well known that aren't supported yet (although they do already have the banano coin blockchain if it's a fork of ethereum so maybe that's normal)...
7055  Other / Meta / Re: Blazed remove this scammer from DT2 on: October 03, 2018, 10:18:44 PM
Hey, look, a newbie with a valuable contribution old butthurt something.

I'm not gonna take you seriously until Quicksy rolls into this thread demanding Blazed to be removed from DT1.

Quicksy doesn't seem to be active as much now, just a load of wannabies...
It's one of the resons why this forum is a little dry at the moment and needs an injection of drama.
7056  Other / Meta / Link expiration on: October 03, 2018, 09:21:16 PM
I'm not sure if it's just me thinking this but I was searchin for my old topics and found one that had a link to a site, it looks to be a legitimate site at the time but now has been bought by someone else and is potentially being used for malicious purposes (it wanted me to allow my firefox to disable noscript and then allow a program to install - surely that's going to be harmless Grin)...

Anyway, could we make it so that if links are posted after about a year or two that they expire unless they're from a highly visited site like blockchain.com/blockchain.info or other sites like that that get a lot of clicks.
This should also be helpful in reducing database sizes too. I reckon that there's a lot of blockchain.info links that are posted here that are going to go dead in a few years anyway so those could be de-linked too.
7057  Other / Meta / Re: Blazed remove this scammer from DT2 on: October 03, 2018, 08:48:38 PM
Well since you have pretty much made the accusation please tell me my alt. I think this is my first "you have an alt" accusation so let the party begin.

I have a lot of suspicions of people being alts so it's probably not helpful for me to divulge in this sort of thing...

Any ideas why lauda and lutpin tagged you?
7058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to obtain valid ERC20 wallet on: October 03, 2018, 07:38:11 PM
You're not being very patent and it might be because you're posting in the wrong section. How is this a bitcoin technical support issue?
7059  Other / Meta / Re: Blazed remove this scammer from DT2 on: October 03, 2018, 07:21:50 PM
Did Lutpin scammed Lightlord? Why no red trust? It is more than a year.

No lutpin hasn't scammed lightlord (yet). It hasn't been more than a year if you check that reference link.

Last payout was Sunday 23rd...

When did he update that thread anyone to say that he was going to pay them within the next 48 hours?
7060  Other / Meta / Re: Blazed remove this scammer from DT2 on: October 03, 2018, 07:15:27 PM
Oops..

Lol. Glad it's not me this time Smiley.

I questioned this a while back, and I had suspicions about Lutpin and mexxer-2 being alts (but no proof).  I forget if I got a reply, but I just minded my own business after that.  I did find it very weird that Lutpin would leave a neg on another DT account without a reference, and then mexxer-2 just kind of disappeared.

A bit off-topic, but has Lutpin paid the 777Coin campaigners yet?  That's another whole issue that shouldn't concern me but does.

I have suspicions about blazed being someone else's alt too but I have no reason to go into that...
And poor lightlord he never seems to have luck with his campaign managers Sad - their site is still really slick though I quite like it.
no they have not been paid yet.
