How about DeFi, NFTs, metaverse and everything trending these days?

We'll get there eventually I'm sure.  It's just that most of the movers and shakers have gone on to develop other solutions instead of building on Bitcoin due to restrictive development practices that prioritize off-chain activity.  I'm sure in another several years we'll be able to login to websites using our Bitcoin keys to purchase NFTs and earn interest on our Bitcoin by providing decentralized liquidity swaps.  Nevertheless, instead of trying to change this place to fit your needs, just find a forum that does pay attention to these game changing technologies if that's what you're interested in.  Then maybe you can bring knowledge to this forum when it is ready to receive it.

I have all of the coins you are looking for with intact holograms as well as some others you didn't mention.  I'm always open to hear offers but am not looking to provide a bargain...  You've got quite a long wish list of probably the most rare coins that were made by Casascius and it would be breaking up my set.  No harm hearing an offer though.  Feel free to drop me a PM and who knows, maybe we can make a deal on one or a few coins.  Personally, I'd be more likely to part with the brass coins than the precious metals and would be more likely to be willing to ship lower denominations, so take that for what it's worth (e.g. the 0.5 BTC brass would be my most likely coin to part with).

7063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul on: November 26, 2021, 12:00:00 AM
That media showing between the Furys and Jake Paul was the worst thing I've ever seen.  Jake was right when he said the oldest Fury was cringe.  It was worse than a trainwreck.  I guess I'm glad they're trying to do their part to promote the fight, but after that showing I'm not sure anybody would be more likely to put down money on a pay per view.  This is one fight I think I can say that I'll happily not watch, and be perfectly content seeing the KO punch and nothing more.  I just hope Jake Paul finds something else to do with his time after this.  I think everyone is starting to get tired of these antics.

Bring on Mike Tyson or Connor McGregor.  I don't think people are as invested in this Jake Paul fighting real boxers movement as they are in seeing sideshow events.
7064  Other / Archival / SONDORS Metacycle - $5,000 (now $6.5K) Electric Motorcycle on: November 25, 2021, 10:03:54 PM
I've been looking at getting into electric vehicles for a long time, but it seems like the technology is now making it a feasible reality.  SONDORS Metacycle is once again taking orders for their Metacycle (I'm in), which is due to be shipped in Q1 of 2022 (originally planned for Q3 of 2021).  With all the delays in trying to get your hands on an electric vehicle, this might be a good way to scratch the itch while having some fun and not breaking the bank.  I'd highly recommend it for someone who needs a new toy or maybe someone in a position like myself, where you no longer want to drive a gas powered vehicle, but wait times for a Tesla are too much to bear.

Bitcoin Is The Single Best Shot At Achieving Liberty In Our Lifetime

Quote
The Bitcoin network itself and the personal owning of bitcoin is an act of peaceful rebellion against the fiat money system. Every day, when someone buys bitcoin, it moves money away from the fiat system and puts it into a store of value.

Has a few nice points.

It reminds me a little bit about what I said to a loved one that ultimately got them to want to purchase Bitcoin many years ago. I said it was an answer for all the people who so often ask, “but what can I do?” Easy. You can buy Bitcoin.
7066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 25, 2021, 05:04:31 AM
I noticed Howard, with only 14 minutes inside the court, his contributions were really high, 9 rebs and 8 points.

Ya, I saw he had 6 points and 5 rebounds in his first 7 minutes, yet still barely saw playing time the rest of the game.  I'm not a huge Dwight Howard fan, but the guy is really playing at damn near an MVP level right now and he's not even getting decent minutes.  Maybe he's old so they're limiting his time and that's why he's a monster when he does get out there.  Who knows...  From my perspective it's like the coach is trying to not play his best guys...  DeAndre Jordan has been good this year too, but Dwight deserves the starting spot for sure, although I guess I can see wanting him to come in for defensive purposes when AD sits down...

In general, that's the state of p2pool/c2pool today? - nearly 20% till release i hope, there is some things left: Stratum, Worker some methods and we are ready to start testing...

I see the github has seen a little action lately.  Nice to see it continuing to roll forward.  I know that a lot of people have been wanting to see this done for some time.  I only hope that it gets taken advantage of by miners once it's available.  Thanks for doing your part to keep this project alive!

I'm suddenly seeing a bug that I can't get past during the login phase.  It keeps crashing my browser window.  This seems to happening every time so I don't believe it's an isolated incident unless my computer is freaking out, but I guess I will check back in and update if I'm able to get it working.  Prior to this latest issue, everything on the side had been working better than ever and I had been enjoying placing single, multi, and even prop bets without any problems.  Hopefully I'm back to having fun again soon.

I know it hasn't been long but I just wanted to bump this up again as this issue is still constant and keeping me from using the site.  The TOR browser crashes after a few seconds on the site repeatedly using the latest update.  If this is not a known issue, please slap it down on the todo list.  If it is a known issue and there's any sort of a workaround, perhaps an onion site, I would be very appreciative to have that information.  Thanks!
7069  Economy / Securities / Re: 📈 NastyFans: The Bitcoin Enthusiast Fan Club (est. 2012) on: November 25, 2021, 04:48:09 AM
Pretty amazing to see Compass mining offering 840TH/s hosting bundles at a price we could afford.  When I discovered Bitcoin the entire network was less than 10TH/s.  It's hard to really fathom the growth...  If people want me to massively expand the mining operation, this would be a likely way forward.  It would bring somewhat of an end to the "free electricity" claim that NastyMining was built on, but I also agreed to provide 25GH/s in hashrate of which I'm currently providing more than 1000x that and a move like this would bring us to more than 30,000x that.  Perhaps something to be debated quickly, as December every 4 years has historically been a great time to purchase mining equipment.

There is also the recent news of the "Volcano Bond" that has been going around.  These bonds will be tokenized on the Liquid network and offered for trading on Bitfinex.  I am not sure how people feel about this opportunity.  We as an organization have never supported additional layers on the Bitcoin network or ran a Lightning node, but this is the direction Bitcoin development is heading and if we are to continue supporting Bitcoin only then perhaps we should consider an investment like this to do our part to support Bitcoin's ongoing development.  My original goal in getting involved with Bitcoin was to change the world and although this isn't the way I would've like to see things go, I think supporting this bond offering is the best opportunity we have right now to help Bitcoin change the world.

I'm still trying to get all the winners from the 100 coin giveaway their coins, so hopefully once that is taken care of we can move on to the next thing, which I think should be one of the above or both opportunities.  Would love to hear feedback.

Also, I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be shipping outside the US, particularly to Europe due to their recently implemented VAT tax registration rules, so take advantage if you've been on the fence about buying something from the NastyShop and you're overseas while you still have the opportunity to do so.
7070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How reasonable is it to invest in Bitcoin in the current situation? on: November 25, 2021, 01:06:26 AM
As long as you have proper expectations and have the money to invest, it makes sense to diversify into assets like Bitcoin. If you’re trying to get rich quick, you should probably be careful. We are at the end of a long bull run and by every measure the market will be expecting a correction in the coming markets. If you’re looking to make a long term investment into Bitcoin, now might not be the most opportune moment, but dollar cost averaging is always a good idea.
7071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 24, 2021, 02:51:06 AM

Looking at the odds, they are not the favourite to win this game against the Knicks, maybe because Lebron is out again.

And the games is on MSG so I guess the Knicks are going to take this W. It might be very close though as the Lakers still have Davis, Russ and Melo. Hopefully though, coach Vogel will give more minutes in the rotation for Dwight as he has been playing very well offensively and defensively in the last couple of games even hitting 3's and making a lot of block shots.
The Lakers have some problems both offensively and defensively from the very beginning of the match, considering that they conceded 10 points in the first two minutes. So it should be an easy win for the Knicks, especially since they are already leading by 20 points in the second quarter.

They made a valiant effort to comeback but it looks like they’re out of gas now that they’re back to being down by 10. It’s a little bit sad to see so many hall of gamers struggle to get wins during regular season games. I don’t know if he rest of the league is targeting them for being a super team or if they’re really this bad, but it’s hard to watch at times.
7072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 23, 2021, 08:20:31 PM
No LeBron tonight for the Lakers vs the Knicks. A shame because the game is nationally televised on TNT. I’m not sure the Lakers need him to win this game, especially after playing so many games without him lately, so hopefully they get a W and make it an interesting game. Seems like a pretty weak TV schedule for TNT’s game night this week…
7073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 22, 2021, 07:41:38 AM
I think these dirty style plays from LeBron are going to become more and more common as his aging lowers his play level to be below some of the young guys in the league. I don’t he’s going to have an easy time adjusting to him not being the most dominant player on the court. When I start seeing stuff like that, it makes me think he should start considering retirement before he cheapens his legacy.
7074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 22, 2021, 02:16:59 AM
Don’t discount Dwight Howard’s performance either. 13 points in 13 minutes on 5-6 shooting with 5 rebounds… I really can’t believe he isn’t getting more minutes. He’s even knocked down 2 three-pointers in the last 2 games. I feel like he’s literally playing like a hall of famer and nobody is noticing. It’s crazy. Get Vogel out of there.

7076  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTS 0.1 Casascius silver 2013, loaded, ungraded on: November 21, 2021, 06:02:17 PM
I would personally peel or keep it tbh… although 0.1 is probably also the only denom I would feel safe mailing anymore at current exchange rates.

Keep yeah…peel No!
Although you would make the few remaining more rarer, I would highly suggest you sell for a premium over peeling

Pm sent.

Sel

Peeling a 0.1 BTC Casascius coin would be bordering on insanity. If there is one coin that still demands a hefty premium of more then 100%, it’s been shown to be this one. I wouldn’t even consider offers or even a listing price below 0.2 BTC. There’s just no reason for it.
7077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 21, 2021, 05:58:09 PM
I just read the news that Klay Thompson has started full practices with the team and the Golden State Warriors will have him in uniform playing games before Christmas. This team is going to be scary if he comes back anywhere close to where he was when he got injured. The thought they still have another starter in Wiseman that’s due back soon and I’m starting to think the Warriors might have another shot at reigniting their dynasty.
7078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: November 20, 2021, 08:40:35 PM
Nothing too exciting going on in the NBA today.  The Jazz should slap the Kings around, that's about all I see on the schedule.  Probably not worth betting on that outcome either since they're such heavy favorites.

The big news in the NBA at the moment appears to be LeBron James and his ever worsening views on American justice.  Not to mention Enes Kantor has been slamming him all week and just spoiled his return to the Lakers...  Been a rough week for the King.
7079  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdowns for those who haven't had the pseudo-vaccine. on: November 20, 2021, 05:20:13 AM
It is so weird to me that people think the government even has the capability to "lockdown" those who haven't had the vaccine.  I can tell you that there is absolutely nothing to government could do to stop me if I want to go outside.  I mean this completely literally.  It's weird that while being faced with the truth that they can't do anything about citizens who don't want the vaccine they still think they wield some sort of power over these people's choices.  They've become so comfortable abusing their power, they don't realize that they have none over people's choices.
7080  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it true that Mt Gox funds are going to get released? on: November 20, 2021, 05:16:59 AM
I can tell you that nothing has moved quickly with this resolution.  I'm not expecting to hear anything else on the matter until next year, at which point they will likely begin the process of collecting banking information.  I haven't even gotten notice of approval yet (even though I read the vote was approved).  I will absolutely shocked if I get a payout in the next 6 months.  A little surprised if I get it in the next year, and about what I expected if a payout is sent in about 18 months.  As far as something moving the market, I think it's a non-issue at the moment.
