That's why DEXes and non custody are our future
Any decentralized exchanges and exchange services operate on smart contracts.
If you connect your wallet to an unaudited smart contract, then you risk losing your coins.
Fraudsters can easily steal your money without knowing your private keys.
You need to be careful in both cases.

Uniswap V2 and Tether USD lead in terms of commissions to date.
It only says that trading volumes on decentralized exchanges are growing very strongly.

Many people start bragging about easy profit on social media
https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1297068546023993349

I am convinced that now the commissions are not the highest and their cost will grow.
7064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I don't buy Polkadot now on: August 31, 2020, 02:27:24 PM
For Polkadot coins, the economy is calculated so that 20-40% of the coins are locked. All projects that want to be connected to the network will be forced to deposit a lot of Polkadot coins.
Therefore, now lock drops are gaining great popularity, and the longer you agree to lock your coins, the more project coins you will receive.

for example, one of the popular projects

Yfi (Yearn finance)
Yfii (DeFi money)
Yffi (Yffi finance)
Yfl (Yf link)
Yfv (Yf value)
Yfie (Yfi exchange)
Yfis (Yfiscurity)
Yft (Yield farming token)
Yffarm (Yearn Finance Farm) I see this last one, as a big scam.

A bad example is contagious.
Everyone wants to get a very quick profit, but according to statistics, they only get losses. Those who saw how the prices of coins and tokens fell sharply in 2018 are more cautious about investing.

I am writing here about scams and risky investments

But that doesn't help, people are still willing to try their luck.
7066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Uniswap on: August 31, 2020, 02:11:42 PM
It would be insane trying to trade in uniwap and other decentralized exchange. A majority, if not all the profit would be spent on transaction fee, because gas fee is ridiculously high these days. I've decided to leave my trades in dex and resume when the gas fee becomes more economical. It feels really bad having to spend so much on gas when the profits on trades are not substantial.

(GUIDE) How to trade on uniswap correctly
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5270415

you are right, there is no point in making deals for 100-200 dollars on uniswap, because the commission can be 10-20% of the amount.
But on uniswap new coins appear first, it may be worth spending $ 20 on commission and get a big profit when the price of a new coin rises
7067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Should you invest in nucypher? on: August 31, 2020, 10:42:48 AM

"The CoinList WorkLock
Users can participate in the WorkLock via CoinList. This enables a simple way for users to easily participate with assistance running and maintaining nodes. CoinList WorkLock participants will stake their ETH and NU for 6 months (starting from network launch). Staking rewards earned during the WorkLock will also be automatically re-staked then released at the end of the 6 months (from network launch). NU that the CoinList WorkLock node earns will be split proportionally based on each participant's staked amount. Benefits include:

- Users are assisted running nodes
- Users can seamlessly stake ETH and receive NU
- There is no minimum ETH stake or maximum ETH stake"

Coinbase continues to explore support for new digital assets

You do not need to buy tokens, but just lock your Ethereum for 6 months.

An interesting project, do you plan to participate?

Need to clarify one thing regarding ETH 2.0 will 2.0 network be 100% PoS or it will be a hybrid model in which both PoW and PoS will both work together? Sorry but I don't have much technical knowledge.
Ethereum 2.0 must work on the POS algorithm.
But phase 0 and phase 1 will be hybrid. In phase 1, the reward for miners should be reduced, and in phase 2, the network will refuse miner services and completely switch to the POS algorithm.
(This is very brief and in general terms, in practice there may be intermediate phases and other decisions, which will depend on the circumstances)
is it possible that there will be a delay in returning etherum 2.0 because I heard the news from several sources because I experienced it several times
The Ethereum 2.0 testnet is not over yet, not all bugs have been identified, so you just have to wait for the results and follow the news.
If you do not participate in betting on money in which year Ethereum 2.0 will be launched, then you should not worry too much.
The main thing is that the new network will be launched.
7071  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I don't buy Polkadot now on: August 30, 2020, 10:01:32 AM
I also think that if you consider an investment for 2-3 years, it will not be a mistake to buy at $ 6, but why do that?
I would wait until mid-September.

New coins will also be issued on Polkadot, and the price of Polkadot will only grow.
I have written an opinion for those who are going to buy this coin for short-term speculation.
In the next 15 days, I will be monitoring the price to try to buy at $ 2-3.

Have you heard about this project?
https://web3.foundation/about/
"Аbout
Our mission is to nurture cutting-edge applications for decentralized web software protocols.
Our passion is delivering Web 3.0, a decentralized and fair internet where users control their own data, identity and destiny. Polkadot is our flagship project."
They have ready-made solutions for decentralization and uncensored internet projects.
The future of cryptocurrencies will be built on such ecosystems.
7074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: De-Fi apps are NOT 100% decentralized on: August 29, 2020, 09:27:27 PM
Know what I see? What a lot of people say about Defi but don't really take advantage of it.
Most people just speculate on the price of tokens and do not care about decentralization processes.
All of you are right when you say that the project interface should also be located in decentralized networks.
Although any programmer can work with a smart contract without a web interface.
I don't see this as a problem right now, if there is an attack or server blocking, the community will make a mirror.

Founder  Gavin Wood
https://twitter.com/gavofyork
"Founder of Parity Technologies. Co-Founder of Ethereum. Building Polkadot. Blockchain bloke. All things Web 3.0"

A bit of history about the project.
Project since 2017, this year 50% of coins were sold on ICO.

https://icodrops.com/polkadot/

ICO raised $ 144 million, the average purchase price of a coin 30 cents !

Polkadot ICO lost $91 Million to parity bug.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/7bd0tm/polkadot_ico_lost_91_million_to_parity_bug/

The project remains $ 53 million

In 2019, the project launched a network, in 2020 new token sale was carried out, the average token price is $ 1.2-1.5

https://www.coindesk.com/polkadot-raises-43m-in-72-hour-private-sale-source
"A second private sale of the Polkadot token (DOT) netted the Web3 Foundation and Parity Technologies some 3,982.07 bitcoin (BTC) worth an estimated $43.3 million at press time, according to sources."

Announcements of projects
https://forum.web3.foundation/t/teams-building-on-polkadot/67
http://polkaproject.com/

Statistics
https://polkastats.io/

Staked
572.229M DOT (58%)

Cool, what does that mean?

Tokens healed in staking cannot be released immediately, they need to wait 28 days.
Tokens bought on the second token sale are also locked for 4-5 months (correct if I was wrong)

Therefore, nothing prevents the price of a coin from flying to the moon!

How many willing investors do you think will want to sell their tokens for $ 6? (their cost price is 30 cents) Grin

I think a lot, so the most prophetic investors will soon run out of 28 days (this will come on September 7-12) and the price will sharply drop down.

There is a chance that the price will increase if the token is traded on the coinbase exchange, but I think that the price will fall dramatically.

I also planned to buy this coin, but after talking with different people, I changed my mind while investing in it.
I will wait until mid-September.

Your opinion?

Dude, you have to interview the mods, global mods and the admins. Chances are, most of them will be too busy to apply, but dammit try. I would love to read about them, as I just spend more time reading on this forum than actually posting(fml).
I'm waiting for an answer Smiley But I hope for a positive result.
I want to interview our crypto women, tell me the candidates?
I went to some of them and got rejected.

Many people ask me: "How do I choose candidates?"
In a random order, don't think that if I contact you later, then you are less interesting.

Isn't it time for zasad@ to also give an interview for the forum, answering practically the same questions?

I could even prepare a number of additional questions to the main ones? And then he himself created the topic and himself has not yet participated in it? What do you say? Wink
it will be later

https://www.circle.com/blog/major-update-to-usd-coin-released-today-advancing-digital-dollar-stablecoin-usability-security
"Let's get into specifics. First and foremost, USDC 2.0 enables developers of digital wallets to remove "gas fees" associated with transactions on the Ethereum network. To date, users of most digital wallets supporting USDC (an Ethereum ERC-20 token) have been required to purchase and hold a balance of ether (ETH) to pay these fees to settle transactions, creating an enormous barrier to mainstream adoption and broad usage of digital dollar stablecoins for internet payments. USDC 2.0 introduces "gasless sends," which enables wallet developers to remove this complexity from the user experience and either pay for the fees on behalf of customers or present/deduct these fees in USDC instead of ETH. Now the experience of using USDC in digital wallets will be much closer to the mainstream mobile payment apps used everyday by hundreds of millions of consumers around the world."

An interesting suggestion, perhaps this development will change the interfaces for many applications. It even saves time and commissions for buying Ethereum.
