7081  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I start a new Faucet? on: December 28, 2018, 03:09:30 PM
It's not that easy to run faucet and it's not very profitable thing, especially when your faucet is new. Many of advertising networks don't accept faucets at all. Others have high requirements to get accepted. So, when you're new, there is very limited choices of advertising networks. Now faucet owners are forced to use popups, Coinhive miners and shortlinks to get revenue. And after all it's likely that you will only earn money just to cover payments to users and pay for hosting. And owning a faucet means never ending fight with bots. Also, it's really difficult to get decent traffic nowadays. No traffic - no revenue.
Now about your questions:
1. You don't have to make design, there are already made scripts available: http://bitcoins4free.ml/faucet-scripts/ You can customize your faucet, change layout in user panel without knowledge in coding.
2. Here is full list of Bitcoin advertising networks: http://www.bitcoins4free.ml/overview-bitcoin-advertising-networks/
3. Don't use free hosting services. There are cheap hosting services like Hostinger which are good for faucets. Or you can try Faucethero, but on this service you have more limited ways to monetize faucet.
4. Recaptcha is safest captcha, but sometimes it's too difficult to solve, so it would be good to have alternative options like SolveMedia or CoinHive captcha.
5. Just use coins which are available on Faucethub. Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Ethereum are the most popular, for coins like Potcoin it will be difficult to get traffic.
6. It's the most difficult question. There are no 100% safe protection because abusers are really smart. My suggestions - buy Faucethub Premium membership, it gives you their Anti-fraud system protection.
mjglqw, Faucetfly are still alive, but I don't recommend to use it, because it's scammy service and many faucet visitors avoid to claim from faucets hosted on Faucetfly. josh20 is right, Faucethero is much better.
7082  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Freebitco.in provably cheating on: December 27, 2018, 08:03:01 PM
The below screenshots show that 9994 to 10000 are all missing.  This is simply NOT possible in this reality.  The chances of all of these numbers being missed IN ORDER in ~20000 rolls is so small that the HD of this forum's server couldnt hold the amount of 0's it would require in order to represent the probability of it happening in 0.0000...%  It's absolutely clear that these results are from purposeful SERVER SEED changing (which you have noticed in your own DB,  I didnt even bother to record them as they are not necessary to see patterns in cheating).  You can see that 0-10 have no problem showing up as results,  it's only the upper numbers that have issues even though they BOTH should have the same probability of being rolled.  You certainly do NOT see 0-10 missing IN ORDER like you do for 9994+
I have made over 18 000 faucet claims in 3 years and I haven't rolled 9994 and higher numbers. Also, any of my referrals also haven't rolled numbers higher than 9993. But I don't want to believe that Freebitco.in are cheating. How you can explain things which are posted in this thread?: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1850855.0. There are hundreds of users who had posted proofs that they rolled 9998-9999 and several who rolled 10000, for example most recent winner of $200 -https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1850855.msg48648119#msg48648119. I don't even talk about 9994-9997 there is mathematically bigger chance to roll these numbers than 9998-9999, but we don't know how many user rolled these numbers. Offcourse, it would be interesting to know why server seed got changed for users who posted in this thread, but I don't want to believe that Freebitco.in would cheat their users for few bucks.
7083  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Facebook / other Services on: December 27, 2018, 02:25:37 PM
Is it not enough bounties on Bitcointalk for you? Cheesy. Bitcointalk is the main place to announce bounties. You can't find so many bounties anywhere else. You may try to look at websites like Bountyportals or BountyHive.
7084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ECONOMIC ANALYSIS/RESEARCH POLL: How many ICOs have you participated? on: December 27, 2018, 02:19:23 PM
I invested only in 2 ICO's. I still didn't got profit from these investments, but I can't say that I regret that I bought these tokens. It's long term projects and I see their development is being done as planned just with little delays. But I'm certain that I will get profit from these tokens sooner or later.
But I stopped investing in ICO's because there are way too many scams. It takes too much time to make research about project. And even if it's legit project, there no guarantees that ICO will be sucessful or that you will get profit. Shortly, there too many risks and often too small returns after investment. So, I rather invest in established coins.

Thank you Cloudbet for making this competition - it was really fun to play, I hope you will launch something similar in future on Bitcointalk. And congratulations to winners!

7087  Other / Serious discussion / Re: How do you make money of bitcointalk? on: December 27, 2018, 12:36:15 AM
Staff members are getting paid, but as said by user above, that user isn't one of mods.
This forum have unique thing called signature campaigns. Basically, you put advertisement into your signature space and advertiser are paying for every post that you make. Usually you get paid in Bitcoins or ICO tokens. It can be called passive income, because you have to post in order to get paid. But it's really nice to get paid just by doing things that you like - discuss about cryptocurrencies.
1- Renting your signature an avatar once you rank up.

it's not much of an income, and requires some work, but still better than nothing if you are willing to make the effort.
If you live in rich country it's not much. But people from third world countries can earn more than average vage just by posting in this forum. So many people "work" at Bitcointalk instead of going to common jobs. And if they lose this their only source of income, like in example in OP, it hurts them seriously.
7088  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [Unofficial] Coinpot.co - new microwallet on: December 27, 2018, 12:20:22 AM
I can't seem to raise coinpot techsupport and decided to come here.  I did not know about any problems with BCH earlier this fall, so I went ahead and sent a deposit over 2weeks ago, but it has yet to show up in my coinpot BCH acct although blockchain claims it was confirmed over 11 days ago.

Any ideas what I should do about this?
There is not much what you can do now. There is no chance that Coinpot support will answer to you. You can only wait - maybe BCH will appear on your ballance one day, but unfortunately it's not very likely to happen. I hope you didn't deposited big amount of BCH, because it's likely that these coins are lost... I'm sorry to say it.
7089  Other / Meta / Re: Account recoveries are moving again on: December 26, 2018, 09:38:59 PM
Thank you Santa theymos. It's a great Christmas gift to forum users. I believe that many of hacked users already lost hope to get account back, so these news is like a miracle for them.
I read your post in new pinned thread and I want to ask, is it there are something new about bans?
Quote
Your ban message may have an email address which you can email. If not, then the ban cannot be appealed.
It means that email address are shown not for all banned users and they don't have right to appeal? Or this ban appeal email aren't shown just for temporrary banned users?
7090  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: December 26, 2018, 09:22:12 PM
Funny or not users should be respected because we came from different places and different countries with different cultures and attitude. Anyway, I am still glad that I am able to write or construct in English though I may not be good but still I could consider myself that I am able and capable in doing it right. Anyway, I have read some of the post that has been screenshot and yes some were really funny but I have my respect on it. I had been reading some posts like that but I am just ignoring it.
Nobody cares where did they come from. Respect must be deserved. I don't know why we should respect these users who can't speak in English, but posting here just to get paid. They plagiarize posts, use Google translate and text spinners - is it a reason to respect them? It has nothing with culture and attitude. By the way, they don't respect us - readers becuase they force us to read shitposts which are shown in this thread.
7091  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are your predictions for crypto-currencies in 2019? on: December 26, 2018, 05:57:31 PM
I'm not going to share my predictions, because it's pointless to do that. I can't call myself as expert and my predictions would be based only on my wishes and expectations.
I hope you're not asking seriously about Ripple. Ripple is centralized coin of bankers and it's against all main principles of crypto, how it can be called new Bitcoin? And I don't know why people always trying to find new Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the thes first cryptocurrency, flagship of crypto with biggest adoption and popularity. I can't imagine any of current cryptocurrencies surpassing it. Maybe in future new more modern cryptocurrencies with big technical advantage against Bitcoin will surpass it, but it wont be Ripple.
My predictions would be that bitcoin would surpass the highest price it has ever reached and go beyond 30k dollars I no many with have there doubt but no one saw it coming the last time and 2019 would be the year bitcoin goes to the moon
Oh, I would like to get so much optimism from you, because I don't believe that 2019 in crypto markets can be so bright. But I hope that your predictions will turn into reality
7092  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Happy Boxing Day crypto enthusiast on: December 26, 2018, 05:39:23 PM
Thanks! Wish acnice day for all you here. In my country therm Boxing Day isn't common, because we just celebrate second day of Christmas. So, when I hear word Boxing Day, first thing which comes to my mind is Premier league football lol Cheesy
Let's hope that upcoming new year will bring bull run to crypto space.
7093  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Message Changed | Can someone create an analysis on: December 26, 2018, 12:38:49 AM
C'mon, man, let's wait with analysis - it's Christmas now Cheesy
And I don't that this message will help to reduce number of ban appeal threads. Now majority of appealing users pretend that they don't know why they got banned, despite that they perfect know reason of ban. And number of these threads will remain big, because these users still will beg to unban their account with stupid excuses - "It was my first and only copied message", "I was drunk", "someone hacked my account and posted it" and etc.
7094  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: signing a btc address to secure org accounts on: December 26, 2018, 12:20:22 AM
I can't find english tutorials on how to use PGP public keys for encryption/decryption. Am calling experienced users to provide some links on how to create PGP public keys and how to make them live.
I had found one guide created by mdayonliner but i didn't succeed following all the steps as i didn't well understand many parts.
I'm afraid that there are no more guides about PGP public keys on this forum, others than made by mdayonliner. I would say that this guide is very well written, but I agree that this thing looks complicated if you don't have much experience and knowledge. Maybe you can specificy what is exactly unclear to you? I suggest to try ask these questions on Bitcoin Technical support board.
7095  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many accounts do you have? on: December 24, 2018, 09:36:12 PM
I have 2 accounts - this one, and another, which I used to recover my main account when it was hacked https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1322114
I don't have any reasons to have more accounts.
7096  Other / Meta / Re: Value Affects Spamming on: December 24, 2018, 08:53:55 PM
I'm not sure that I can say that there are less shitposting now, because some boards like Bitcoin or Altcoin discussion are still almost impossible to use. But you probably right that market status affect activity on forum. I read stats posted by some users that number of new sign ups on Bitcointalk directly correlate with Bitcoin price. And there are less posts made this year than in same period year ago. Offcourse, these numbers are also affected by Merit requirements for new users.
I also can give one obvious example - it's Bounties board. In past if you had posted thread on that board, it only remain on first page of that board for few minutes, now it stays on first page for 20-25 minutes.
I guess your sure haven't been seeing @cryptohunters posts lately.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5088852.0
tl;dr, can someone tell point of this thread, because his posts are so long and it's to difficult to focus on reading on Christmas Eve Cheesy

Thanks for another raffle and Merry Christmas!
7098  Other / Meta / Re: Merry Christmas to the Forum on: December 23, 2018, 10:16:19 PM
Maybe it's a bit early to say, but Merry Christmas for everyone hear. I wish these holidays will bring something positive to everyones life.
Might as well say it so it is understandable by all the local forums too:

Nice! I can also tell it in my language which only have local thread here - Linksmų Šventų Kalėdų!
7099  Other / Meta / Re: About bitcointalk.org Registration system on: December 23, 2018, 07:42:07 PM
@rat03gopoh, your idea just will stop legitimate new users from signing up. In past theymos said that he don't want to make more restrictions to new members, he was even against 1 Merit requirement to become Jr. Member, but then he changed his mind. High number of new signups isn't a problem, the problem is what big part of these Newbies are doing.
