How can you claim the VAT back if you are selling these for BTC? Or is your intention to just flip the BTC price into sterling and accept that?

Just re-read and noticed the mtgox UKBT part free bump on me  Smiley

I'm not claiming the VAT back, I'm paying the VAT? Bitcoins are counted by HMRC as cash vouches, so a simple sale is still taxable. The conversion between GBP/bitcoin/GBP ISNT taxable.
7082  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra Demonstrates Working FPGA. Releases Additional ASIC Chip Details. on: September 26, 2013, 02:38:23 AM
System box was recently upgraded from 2u to 4u to allow for larger fans and radiator to provide significant increase in cooling capacity and reduced fan noise  - 12cm fans are much quieter than 9cm fans.
Did no one actually read this? The chips don't even exist yet and the spec rollbacks are already happening. Now takes 2x the space.
7083  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC Countdown for Shipment on: September 25, 2013, 01:05:46 PM
What if they "deliver" the unit to their datacenter? Does that counts? For retard Luke-Jr and BFL it counted.

if users have their btc addresses plugged in with worker details and they are hashing away then hell yea it totally counts.

remember they only need 5 units on bitbet up and running and photographed....their datacenter will have hundreds or maybe low thousands in my opnion/armchair guestimate.

If by treasurer you mean the guy holding the community's bitcoins, it doesn't make sense to go with anyone but john. His security is tried and tested and has been for years, he is a brand and one of the pillars of this community.

I'd say to the above comments that I actually decreased the price. Rather than spamming with "OMGOGNMOGN PRICE DECREASE NOW THIS PRICE GET IT NOW", I simply said bump (18 hours?) after the OP.

Maybe the message deleted messages should actually give some context/be selectable between a few presets. In this case, it was because it had been ~18 hours between bumps and not 24, rather than being bumped itself.
7086  Other / Meta / Re: Mods now deleting WTS bumps? on: September 24, 2013, 08:29:14 PM
You mean your bump post in this thread?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=300150.0

Bump replies don't contain any useful information, clutter up threads and make scrolling through threads in search of information take more time.

Bumps are only deleted after more posts follow them as was in your case.
And how else can you get a relevant thread back onto the first page? That is the useful information, the OP.
7087  Other / Meta / Mods now deleting WTS bumps? on: September 24, 2013, 05:51:08 PM
Thread fell off front page instantly after 40 views, so I changed the price and bumped the thread. This proved useful and an interested party was found, however the mod then deleted the bump post.

How on earth are we meant to bump threads when its now outlawed.... gg forum trading
7088  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Friedcat: A forgotten promise? on: September 24, 2013, 05:46:02 PM

@desired_username
Have you received the package?

Yes. I got it today. 204pcs of USB block erupters (yes two hundred and four).
 Grin

Lucky you.! How many BE's had you brought and which auction.?

2nd auction 4 blades.
0_o This makes no sense, I also have 4 blades from B2-3 as well as a B1 yet received only 102 USBs.
7089  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 102x USB miners, UK/EU on: September 24, 2013, 02:11:48 PM
ok I may be very interested in this... am located in the UK so just to confirm will be 0.14BTC per device....

Have a number of people I need to ask about for this price.. but any discount for say taking 20+ off ur hands?? or 50+ etc?

Many thanks

FuzzyBear

That's correct, including VAT. So if you're VAT registered then its cheaper for you. If you take a large chunk then there may be SOME discount, but its not going to be huge as they're small items anyway.
7090  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Caution - BFL Single Powersupply on: September 24, 2013, 07:02:13 AM
That sound is capacitor whine. It can happen on brand new top end PSUs and isn't necessarily a sign of impending doom.
At least don't panic...until one of your loved ones catches fire.

Then only react in a "mildly" alerted way. (So as to not further scare the individual who is on fire.)

Fear and misinformation is your speciality isn't it :s

Its colloquially known as capacitor whine, however it appears to be coils [which makes sense that PSUs can be affected] https://www.google.co.uk/#q=capacitor+whine&safe=off.

7092  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] 102x USB miners, UK/EU on: September 23, 2013, 04:00:15 PM
Hello all.

You know the deal, have 102x silver rev 3 USB miners for sale. All but a few I checked for colours are still factory sealed and hence untested. Doubt there will be faulty units but that's up to friedcat not me.

Will ship to UK or EU, ask me for EU prices with quantity please.

Price is 0.14btc inc delivery AND VAT for UK, min quantity 5. Will provide VAT receipts. Accept UKBT at gox.

7093  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: September 23, 2013, 12:54:32 PM
Run it at "Low" speed.  If that works, and you get failures at "High" speed, then you need to crank up the voltage.

It's running at "Low" speed with all "x", voltage on branches is good (as i wrote). Isn't problem in voltage at PSU/Blade connector? (When blade is connected I have 11.11V, shouldn't be 11.5 and more?)
Yes. Sounds like PSU cant cope

I tryed another PSU - 350W, 16A on 12V. (connect 2x2 +12V yellow cables (2xMolex, 2xcpu) and 2x2 GND black cables) Voltage at PSU/Blade connector is 12.1V, voltage on branches is 1.1V, so its seems like normal. But still i have all "x" on chips. What could be wrong? Please help me...
PM me a picture of your wiring and I'll have a look.

England is cold.
7095  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: September 23, 2013, 10:26:16 AM
Hey guys,

So I got my 2 blades and 10 BE running all ok (total of between 22.50-26.80 gh/s 0.80%hw 3.2% rejected),

But I totally messed up on the config pages as now i cannot access them from my browser (I didn't write down how I allocated them! D'oh!)  Is there any way of resetting them or accessing without using the pins?

By the way, when I look at my router, it only lists one blade and not two, and when I use that ip and port, nothing comes up.

It all works, but I'd like to have access to them.

Thanks
Maybe you overlapped the IPs so its conflicted. Only way out is to use the pins, only takes a few seconds.

Beastlymac will you be imposing rules/restrictions to your authorized resellers (much like ASICMiner did with their products) to regulate and control the distribution so it doesn't get chaotic become a free market?

fixed

So...am I highlighted?  I just see between 16-33, working my way up to Scottish Rite ignore rate!

I don't think I actually caused many if not most of the ignores...it was a hacker who usurped my account for a day.  I was able to regain control, but the damage had been done with him pissing on every thread he could find that day.

Yes you are.
7099  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: tldr: Why isn't KNC able to compete with *55nm bitfury's W/GH? on: September 21, 2013, 07:53:56 PM
Are you saying you think they lied when they specifically said it was a standard cell design and not an FPGA conversion?

Where did they say that and what did they say exactly?
You have to admit, the chip being nearly 4x the size of hashfast, worse power consumption, very fast tape out and promised post tape out implementations, apparently no interest in any tests and done by a company that promotes its hardcopy services. I dont know if they lied or what they said, but if it talks like a duck...
I believe they advertised it as a FPGA copy, but the tech guy was ripping his eyes out at having to submit it. He wanted to spend more time on it.

2) They're retarded, deal with it. Just make sure all are accounted for, other users have shorted with it
4) Thats right, 2 for modules and 1 for ambient.
5) Dont touch the fans unless you need to
