7081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 17, 2018, 12:47:39 PM
Arsenal against Chelsea this week will be the game of the week. I think that Arsenal will have the upper hand here and will beat Chelsea this time. Chelsea was not convincing in the game against Huddersfield in the first week and Arsenal had to play against the Champions in the first week. In the worse case I think this game might end on draw so draw no bet for Arsenal is my favourite bet for this game.

Indeed both the teams have many similarities, both have a new coach, they have equally struggled last season, only thing separating them is that Chelsea won and Arsenal didn't, but I won't blame Arsenal they played against Man City a team which is continuing it's ruthless winning streak.

I'm not convinced by both teams to be frank, it should end in a stalemate perhaps a draw is a fitting for both the teams, if goals are scored I don't think it'll exceed 2 goals. If I have to choose a winner will go with Arsenal due to their new coach and his philosophy.

We all knew that Bitcoin price is going so deeper as we can check the chart .  So we also know that the newbies always get panic with all this situation. They  are selling their Bitcoin  at the lower price  with frustrations  and even loses big amount of money from their investment . At this moment ,  who really wins?  Please share your opinions.

Hey it seems you're a total newbie when it comes to bitcoins, and you have not even searched or even understood the basic of bitcoins. I'm not aware of what charts did you see, but current levels are not deep, they're very much stable, when you compare them to alts. If you see at 6k new resistance has been formed.

The question who wins is vague, one part is which coins wins then it's obvious that Bitcoins is winning, even after a crash they recover quickly, while the alts lag considerably. I feel second part can be divided between those who sold it, and those who hold it, again people who hold it during such times wins. I would advise you to read about Bitcoins, study basics of bitcoins. The prices are really cheap, you should buy and hold bitcoins for long term.
7083  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To HODL or not, this is the question on: August 17, 2018, 07:46:52 AM
We see alot of people holding on the the coins they invest in, either they are afraid to loose out on future gains, or waiting for a rainy day when they can cash out, does this not effect the market with so many coins not being traded, causing the fluctuated trade movements, with people mass selling when the market starts to fluctuate?

There is nothing wrong with hodl strategy, it's in fact one strategy that all agree upon, and it is the most common advice given by newbies and pros. Bitcoins is and has always been for the long term, short selling bitcoins is equivalent to firing a gun at yourself, hoping not to injure yourself.

The crash in bitcoins prices is not effected by the fact, that few 1000 people sold their coins this downfall in prices is called dump strategy, wherein group of people dump bitcoins to break their prices, it's pertinent to note that this dump is done in huge numbers and not a few hundred bitcoins. So my advice would be to hodl.

7084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs will Open Floodgates for Manipulation on: August 17, 2018, 03:42:19 AM
When Andreas speaks, people listen.
Andreas Antonopoulos, a BTCBitcoin advocate with a large following, uploaded a video on August 14 that outlined why an ETF on the cryptocurrency creates so much hype and, more importantly, why he doesn't like the idea. His main concerns are manipulation of price, governance, and politics of Bitcoin. A great explaination from Andreas on the implications of an ETF.

According to Andreas,"Everybody's so excited about ETFs because, the price really increases dramatically as suddenly that commodity becomes available to a lot more investors and these investors pile on, but there's always these claims that the commodities markets are heavily manipulated and opening up these exchange-traded instruments only increases the ability of institutional investors to manipulate."

A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED WATCH

Andreas has got a valid point here, and he's experienced in the crypto world hence when he gives out such a statement one needs to really think deeply about it. There's doubt that an ETF will indeed restrict the volatility we normally see in bitcoins, but the worrying question is how much will it be able to restrict. On other hands the increase volumes could even increase the prices.

We normally see the Pump and Dump game in bitcoins, it'll be interesting if the ETF can bring an end to this, but then again it's pertinent to remember this all was said when futures were coming, but it proved false bitcoins prices rose, pump and dump continued. In my views it's to early to call the ETF a bad idea, I would like to give it some time, before an opinion can be formed.
7085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GGG vs Canelo II on: August 16, 2018, 05:22:31 PM
Just one month from now, we will see another anticipated rematch in boxing. Both of them are throwing jabs and really talking smack. However, its really going to be interesting how Canelo, (without the tainted meat in his system Grin) can KO GGG,

Quote
“From the beginning, I will work him to look for that KO,” Alvarez said Wednesday through a translator on a conference call. “That’s what I’ll be doing from the very first round. That’s why I’m training and I’m mentally prepared to do that. Obviously, that’s the way I want this fight to end, by knockout, and for them to raise my hand after that knockout victory.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/canelo-ill-look-ko-golovkin-from-very-first-round-rematch--130926

These days boxing looks more like opera or a scene pulled out from a Hollywood movie, current boxers are more interested in glamour, spot light rather the sport. They're just monetising this beautiful sport, with unnecessary drama, but for this particular match it's really heating it up, I hope it shows up in the ring.

Canelo deserves to loose and when he does I'm sure he'll blame it on the tainted meat saga, there is no doubt in my mind that golovkin is a better and experienced boxer, and he'll definitely ko Canelo. I hope we have a dream finish of Canelo laying flat in the ring, after all the hype, this match better not have hugs like pacq and may match.
7086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner's Luck on: August 16, 2018, 01:36:03 PM
Let's talk about something like this, what is the first thing that comes into your mind whenever you hear about the word "Beginner's Luck", Well, I'm here to share one of my experiences back then when I was new to gambling, It was nasty, I had a great time gambling in my first day at the casino, I was very shy and was definitely scared to lose my money if things didn't go out well, but luckily, I had the opposite thing that I was expecting, there was no strategy used, I simply just played, and I honestly won a lot of games, and have made a lot of profit, they called me a beginner with luck in my hands, socialized with the people around me, and have made a lot of progress in gambling, though I do not have settled my mind in full-time gambling and will try to limit myself as much as possible.

How about you? What were your experiences back then when you were still starting to learn how to gamble?

The term Beginners luck is kind of vague, as this is not an actual luck, but some people just get lucky, and some horribly fail. I would like to talk about my story and my friends, we were in college, and were introduced to gambling, naturally we got addicted to it.

We decided to play multiple bets on sports on the same day, I kept on loosing, but luckily for us he kept on winning, but I yet do not consider it beginners luck as next day situation got reversed, luck doesn't come to you if you're beginner or experienced, it naturally comes to you.

Just to add his over confidence that, he would win like he did first time almost costed him his home and marriage, so be careful what you choose to believe, as it's easy for a drinker to give up drinking, but a gambler giving up on his gambling mindset is difficult.

People will always praise you like you said, but remember they won't share your looses I hope you'll gamble responsibly.
7087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin -Investors first choice- bleeds the altcoins on: August 16, 2018, 11:30:28 AM
We have had upto 30 billion $ leave the market capitalization yet bitcoin holds above 6100$, the result is that the altcoins are bleeding out badly and bitcoin's dominance soaring higher than usual? when will this stop?

I believe you have totally misunderstood the correlation between Bitcoins and Alts, if you were observing prices you would have noticed that, as and when there's a rise in the prices of bitcoins, a similar kind of movement is seen in the alts market.

However there's something you should know, whenever alts crash they do not recover as fast as bitcoins does, so investing in alts is a huge mistake unless you're sure what you're doing.

In my experience with Bitcoins and Alts, I have always seen that whenever alts take a beating they take long to recover, whereas Bitcoins starts it's recovery faster, primary reason is traded volumes, sentiments of the community, which will always be higher in bitcoins than alts. Hence blaming bitcoins is wrong, Bitcoins is the original crypto and you should focus on it, if you already have alts then simply hodl them as their recovery will take quiet a while.
7088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: August 16, 2018, 07:56:51 AM
Say whaaat, Athletico? The one time I bet on the prize horse, I get a drubbing. EPL's going to miss Costa I think, just look at the way he scores, not beautiful but pure instinct. We haven't really had that type of poacher in a while. Sure we've got the bloodhounds, even Sturridge can be said as one for Liverpool, and we got the Lukakus but anyway. Chalk my loss down to luck, without taking away credit from the winners.

@LFC: looks like they didnt' manage to dent Sergio Ramos, but it also looks like we won't need him injured to see Real collapse.

I want them in the group stage bro, I want Real blood shed ar Anfield Cheesy
Keita will tear into them, didn’t tell you did I, I went to the game last weekend with my younger brother. 4-0 great start to the season, I’m not going to C Palace away but I’m going to the Brighton game at Anfield next Saturday. Going with the Mrs for that one so making it a 2 night stay Cheesy

This was my view vs West Ham (high up in the new Mainstand).

The Super Cup final lived up to the billing, it's early days but looks like Real Madrid achilles heels is completely exposed, there is no doubt this team needs a brilliant gallactio to bail them i.e. Hazard but with Premier League transfer window closed, it'll be interesting if Chelsea sell now at least 250 million would be needed.

It's also good to see Costa play to his full potential, honestly conte dug his own grave by sending that dumb text to him, and wasting entire half season by not playing him, premier league is so gonna miss him.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool will be a bloody good match, and I'm sure everyone would want to see Ramos get a red, if this time they meet Liverpool is going to score goals all over the pitch, plus I can't wait to see Kloop and Ramos get into war of words, which is really interesting lately, who do you think will have the final say Ramos or Kloop?
7089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: August 16, 2018, 05:32:47 AM
I agree this is a problem for almost every team that travels to other countries, they don't seem to adapt to the conditions and most times lose the series. The only team that was a great team at travelling was the Australian team of the 90's and early 2000's This team would win series everywhere it went even won a test series in India, in my opinion that was the best cricket team of all time as it was well balanced with good batsman that could play on most pitches and a good mix of bowlers. Not sure if we will ever see a team like this again.

Other teams also struggle on unfamiliar conditions, but being regarded as the sole cricketing super-power, the Indians were supposed to fare better. After all, their players receive 10x salaries when compared to the Australian and the British players.

Whenever a team is visiting another country, it's but obvious that the host will have undue advantage of the home conditions, but saying that team India is loosing because they're visitors is cliche. As for the Australian side, they implemented a simple formula perform or perish, instill fear in the opposition, in comparison team India does not really remove the under performers quickly, even their bench strength is not tested.

When team England looks at team India, all they is one man their Captain Virat, which basically says it all. If you have observed how team Indias batsman are playing, their shots are suited for Asian pitches, and hence they're getting out easily, their batting coach has some serious work to do otherwise a whitewash is on the cards.

If team India wishes to win the remaining matches, avoid white wash and salvage some pride they need to make wholesale changes, only then can they win, even with changed team my favourite is team England.
7090  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin fall down to 5K this month? on: August 15, 2018, 01:27:39 PM
The price of bitcoin can be within the range of $5k but won't be going below that. The fluctuations has been struggling between $5k - $6k, and this will be its lowest deep.

Let's see. The bottom for this year is around 5.8k which is quite safe from going below that 5k mark. I also don't think we'll go that low since bitcoin is showing resiliency at it's current value. And i don't think it will sit well with many people have a more than 75 percent drop.

I do not believe that Bitcoins will break it's resistance level of 5500 and slip to 5000$, it's shown strong resistance around 5.8k and I do not see it breaching that any time soon, as we're debating it's already crossed 6.3k mark which shows it's finding momentum and which is good for the current levels, I'm seeing a new resistance level of 6k forming and upside I see it at 7k downside at 5.5k, I do not believe it'll fall below that.
7091  Other / Off-topic / Re: crypto in the present moment? on: August 15, 2018, 10:32:49 AM
hello guy!
I find that near people are always worried and afraid of the future of crypto, when we invest in the crypto market, we also know the market will fluctuate up and down and its risk, I think it is Often, most of us are going to HODL and buy more when they think it's touching bottom, there are some people selling them, I think that's the decision of you and no what wrong. WHY EVERYONE DOES NOT PATIENT AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF IN YOUR DECISION? This is what is happening now because there is NO reason for this sudden drop in the price? Hold onto those coins as long as you can, because these greedy bastards will manipulate the markets to cause chaos and panic and wait for the green boom to return.

Hodl and stay patient is the best strategy, it's common for people to panic and sell, it's human brain we're wired that way. Whenever we sense we may loose our earnings, we tend to panic and think of the short term and loose out the benefits of the long term, in this period one should just buy and not sell. There is lot of confusion, and people repeat the same mistake again and again. I hope people will buy at current levels, rather than sell or my best advice is simply just hodl.

One should always remember selling at low levels is a big mistake, play the long term game, and not the short term game.
7092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is 'useless as a payment mechanism and ridiculous as a store of value on: August 15, 2018, 08:18:41 AM
Bitcoin is 'useless as a payment mechanism and ridiculous as a store of value,' ex-PayPal CEO says

Bitcoin will continue to fall, because "there's just no value there," former PayPal CEO Bill Harris told CNBC on Tuesday.

"The cult of bitcoin [makes] many claims — that it's instant, free, scalable, efficient, secure, globally accepted and useful — it is none of those things," Harris said on CNBC's "Fast Money."

Harris, who is also founder of Personal Capital Corporation, came out swinging against bitcoin in an April op-ed in which he called the cryptocurrency a "colossal pump-and-dump scheme, the likes of which the world has never seen."

Harris said Tuesday that bitcoin's value will continue to dwindle until it gets "eventually a whole lot closer to zero."

"We've got digital currencies. And we've got digital currencies that are more stable, more widely accepted and have intrinsic value. We've already got it — it's called the dollar, the yen, you name it," Harris said.

The former financial technology CEO's primary concerns about bitcoin include its slow transaction time, scaling challenges and volatility, which "alone makes it useless as a payment mechanism and ridiculous as a store of value," Harris said.

"There has to be something underpinning it," he said. "Bitcoin makes no revenue, no profitability."

Bitcoin climbed more than 1,300 percent in 2017 to nearly $20,000, then lost almost half its value in the first three months of 2018. Bitcoin dipped below $6,000on Tuesday for the first time since June, before paring some losses to trade near $6,114 as of 6 p.m. EST, according to CoinDesk.

Some cryptocurrency enthusiasts and investors have attributed the sell-off to kickback from Securities and Exchange Commission activity. The SEC moved to delay a decision on the VanEck SolidX Bitcoin Trust ETF on Aug. 7, after it rejected a separate ETF proposal from Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss on July 26.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/08/14/ex-paypal-ceo-theres-just-no-value-in-bitcoin.html

PayPal chief saying this is bit of hypocrisy, considering their fees and their rules that had caused popular sites to close down. Then again charge backs are a pain.

As far the drop in prices, it's due to such statements that spreads panic in investor's and it's amazing to see how the media is hands in glove, with these people to bring the prices of Bitcoins down. They keep on bringing prices down, and then buy and again.

As far as the ETF is concerned it's was always going to be rejected, the main ETF is of CBOE which will most likely be accepted.

Bitcoins has created revenue for all the users, and it has proven to be a store value for, and people are accepting it as a currency.

I don't agree with the above quotes, as they're one sided views and completely quoted for the purpose of creating panic and confusion.

7093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 15, 2018, 06:21:19 AM
F. Alonso officially announced that he will retire from F1 after this season. The end of era of another racing legend. He isn't too old for Formula, but probably he just don't want to race in mediacore teams anymore. It's interesting that Fernando released this statement shortly after Red Bull announced that wont offer contract to Alonso to replace Ricciardo.

F Alonso is a legend and it seems my childhood is almost over, all the favourites are no longer racing, I think you have a valid point here considering his age and experience he's not the one who should have retired so soon, but then again with his reputation and experience not driving in the best cars, was always going to hurt him. I won't enjoy seeing the races, now as another of my childhood driver won't be there, definitely an end of an era.

It'll be interesting to see who Red Bull are planning to bring in for replacement. Who do you'll think will make the cut.
7094  Economy / Speculation / Re: situation about the condition of bitcoin ! on: August 14, 2018, 11:02:17 AM
when we see the situation of bitcoin prices that are constantly falling, what can you do? is it only enough to read articles about information only. ask for instructions and suggestions. Thank you for the time.

regards

indoagung

Bitcoin is not controlled by any single person or a group of persons, it's working is based on the economic principles of demand and supply. There is nothing one can do to stop the dump, one can only try and clear the fud that is being spread, but that can't be done at a mass level. The only logical thing is to hold your coins, and explain other's the importance of holding their coins.

As for information do remember some are paid articles, and may not represent the truth you should read the topics here, use the search button to find what you're looking for.

You can check beginners section here for help or economics or speculation section to get a fair idea about the fluctuations in the prices, and the reasons it's happening.
7095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: August 14, 2018, 10:01:00 AM
India should make some good changes in their side first of all...dont know why jadega is being left out fromt the side without any reason..instead of kuldeep bring back sir jadega and pant should be given a go in place of kartik now and dhawan should come in place of murali vijay

Before this began team India was hailed as Invincibles, despite all warnings of how England dismantled Australia, team India really paid no heed to the signs. The so called magic of their captain Virat and their head coach Shastri is now being openly challenged, call it ego or short sighted but this team needs to make wholesale changes. I do expect where is Virat chants to get only louder, and more embarssement store for the team if they do not ring in changes.

With that said I don't think they'll have any issues on Asian pitches when they're back in Asian cup, they'll perform there, as they're more habituated to those pitches.

Team India needs a miracle to win the next match and the series, but so far their winning mentality is eluding them, they desperately need their top order to fire. I would yet deem England as favourites and expect them to win easily.
7096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They want you to panic :-> on: August 14, 2018, 08:40:49 AM
When the price of a commodity drop with no reason, you should know that it is being manipulated. The reasons for this is quite simple, because a lot of people know this is a fake crash and they are going to make millions, when other people start to panic and start selling their coins at these low prices.

The secret to maximize your profits in this game is to buy coins at the lowest price possible and then again to sell at the highest price possible.

What do you do if people are hoarding their coins and refuse to sell? You simulate a fake crash by stockpiling your coins over a long period and then dumping those coins at once to trigger a small crash. You then buy back these coins at a lower price than what you bought them and wait for the market to recover.

This is what is happening now, because there is NO reason for this sudden drop in the price? Hold onto those coins as long as you can, because these greedy bastards will manipulate the markets to cause chaos and panic.

This is the sad situation in the crypto world, even when we believe no individual can effect the price's these capitalists are coming together to profit at our expense.

While the community has grown wiser, there're many who would have sold at a loss and these people will have negative impressions about bitcoins which is really sad.

The current fall in prices is also due to the confusion produced from the after effects of bitcoins etf being rejected, this spooked people and they did what the capitalists wanted them to sell, so they would in turn purchase at lower levels.

It is my suggestion to hodl or buy in every dip but never sell, consider selling only when your target is achieved or the price's are at all time high, remember bitcoins is a long term game.
7097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin become currency a new State? on: August 14, 2018, 05:34:29 AM
I think, a lot of us saw Bitcoin like tool for freedom. Now most people look at this like opportunity for enrichment. I don’t think that rich equals freedom. I know a many rich people’s. They are far from freedom.

It is now evident that just cryptocurrencies is not sufficient to achieve the goal. We need a State at our side. But current States seek to preserve the old order.

State it is a community with uniform rules. Territorial principle don’t need for creation of the State in the 21st century. So what do you think what's to stop us to come together and creation a new State now?

I think you have totally misunderstood the concept of using Bitcoins, it's a currency and it's not a freedom fighting tool. Based on many research people tend to attach emotions to bitcoins, which are nearly Impossible to happen like in this case.

I'm not aware which state you're in, but in no part of the world can you just create a state because you wish to support/adopt the currency.

There're many countries who have already adopted it, most notably Japan and that's giving huge boost to bitcoins, we should focus on getting our country's to adopt it, rather carve a state which will never happen.

Nadal won trophy in Montreal after defaeting young prospect Tsitsipas in two sets(6:2 7:6). Tsitsipas should not be sad about lose cause he played awesome whole tournament and reached his first Masters final.
And I am sure this is just start for him. Also, he will make big jump on ranking and will be 15th from Monday on.

He put up a good fight in the second set but wasn't good enough to make it go to the 3rd which would of been great if he could as then he might of really giving Nadal a run for his money. Nadal looks in fine form heading into the US Open on Monday, Its going to be an interesting Grand Slam as there are many players in good form.

There wasn't any doubt in my mind that Nadal was the favourite to win the match and he won it with ease, I'll agree here had it stretched another stretch people would have concerns over nadal winning but luckily it didn't happen. The young lad has a bright future and after seeing his performance, there is no doubt he can go onto be a legend if he continues his form.

The USA open is going to be a very big event this season as Nadal is in his prime form and so is Djovick, if these two come across each other then we'll have another entertaining match on our hands.
7099  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [hMerits] What will happen to Bitcoin if the ETF applications are granted? on: August 13, 2018, 05:18:42 PM
Today we are introducing hypothesis merits (hMerits). These are awards for good posts answering "what if " questions. Usual rules apply, but this is open to everybody - newbies and juniors especially. So here is the question.

The SEC has just rejected the ETF ( Exchange Traded Fund) application by the Winklevoss twins, but there are several other applications in the pipeline. 'what if' some of those are granted? What will happen to Bitcoin and its price?

There's been a lot of confusion and hysteria since this etf was rejected, people read the headline and panicked. Let's clear it for once and all, sec was right to reject this etf as it was not filed as per the rules.

The ETF we're waiting for is the one that CBOE will file, and that one I'm positive will get approved.

I'm not a financial wizard, but Bitcoins and ETF is a deadly combo for an saving investment tool, it's a unique way to diversify one's portfolio spread the risk. That also means added volumes of trade of people, more investment coming, higher the sentiments and as we'll know bitcoins is limited, it's prices are bound to shoot up.

Though there'll be regulatory hurdles, but that's a small price to pay as I would like to see the long term returns.
7100  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the end of Bitcoin ? on: August 13, 2018, 01:54:36 PM
I have seen the crypto market for last 1 year and the last 6 months are not so good for BTC and Alts.
The total market cap is going down and price of BTC is pumping and dumping again and again.
What should we do now hold or take a exit and wait for more drop ?

No this is not the end, what exactly you mean you have seen the crypto market, seeing the fluctuations in prices is not called seeing it.

Last year bitcoins achieved its highest ever peak, the sentiments level were at a all time high, but as the year began the crypto world was attacked with fud, first the media then prominent people like warren and Jack of Ali Baba gave negative comments about bitcoins, which created hysteria in the crypto markets and got prices to drop down.

Current drop was due to the rejection of an etf which was always bound to be rejected, the market is waiting for CBOE etf which most likely should be accepted.

This is an excellent opportunity to buy Bitcoins and any other coins you wish to add to your portfolio to diversify it, and if you already have coins simply hold them for high returns.
