7081  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-09] Bitcoin Drops 20% But Wasn't Week's Big Crypto Price Loser on: March 11, 2018, 04:49:14 AM
I am just hoping against "hope" that it doesn't plunge further. But honestly from my graph the fall is not yet done. It is likely to see the $5,400 region before any bull run could begin again. Perhaps the Gox news is keeping the bitcoin on its knees this time around.

Of course, I am reluctant selling off knowing that a springboard is somewhere waiting to push it back to the sky.
7082  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Time For Crypto Currency on: March 11, 2018, 04:15:28 AM
Are there any best time to trade cryptocurrency on any platform just like in Forex. If there is? What is the best time or day to trade.

Thanks in advance
Even as currently as the market is dumping, swing traders are still making money and taking profits. The crypto market is a 24/7 days market and an all comers affairs. I don't believe there is any particular trade zone one can make profit. All one needs is diligence and patience to spot a good coin, buy in and wait for a push to take profit.
7083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Filipinos warned vs bitcoins, cryptocurrencies on: March 10, 2018, 05:41:49 PM
Like Filipinos like Nigerians. Two eloquent poor countries bedeviled by bad economies.

A similar thread to this exists here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3048012.msg31987932#msg31987932

Nigerians too were warned by the country's central bank a few days ago to steer clear off Bitcoin.

SMH. This is truly a precarious time for the Bitcoin.
7084  Other / Meta / Re: Is bitcointalk.to legit or scam? on: March 10, 2018, 02:13:46 PM
The question we should ask is if there are scams going on at the mentioned forum or is it simply because it is another variation of this forum (Bitcointalk.org) that erupts the legit and scam view.

Well, that this forum is the pathfinder doesn't mean other Xerox-ed sites won't exist and be genuine too. Calling for an internet ban without any infringement cited is giving a dog a bad name to hang it.
7085  Economy / Economics / Re: The Bank of Nigeria has a great sense of humor on: March 10, 2018, 01:11:02 PM
If only those Nigerian princes who keep wanting to give me their money would have invested it in to Bitcoin, they could give me much much more.
Lol...You got me laughing there. You sure have a sense of humour too like the Nigeria government officials. I guess you are wiser than the Nigeria princes then for not allowing them keep your money for you.

I once read an article where some dude claimed his miners from France were sent back to France after they arrived the Nigeria seaport. The Nigeria customs summoned him while trying to clear his parcel as they couldn't figure what they were thinking they could be some explosive devices...Lol. Dude was lucky not to have been locked up after he struggled to educate them on what a miner was.

Africa is really backward in technology, not just on leadership alone. Not even South Africa.
7086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens with my crypto when I die? on: March 10, 2018, 03:25:10 AM

* house burns down along with hard wallet

I am cocksure the above will catch the attention of all those who think saving information on hardware is a guarantee for everlasting safety. I also know some people have their secret stuff written out on papers and kept in their rooms. Of course a fire outbreak can occur and all will vanish within minutes. This has really got me thinking too.

I use the above method too but I also back up on the internet via email (don't even think of guessing the address) through codes I choose which normally take another set of codes to understand them.
7087  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Stat from theymos data on: March 09, 2018, 03:03:53 PM
...if the thing that you have done here was useful to me, I could have rewarded you with some merits.
I am amazed that you think the OP does not deserve your highly treasured merit. Not even a recommendation from you? Wow! Such a well thought out topic and research like this should get well-meaning merits - at all time. Of the 29 merits the OP received, yours isn't even there.

This is one of the major problems of the Merit system. Most people giving this merit have their favorite posters and buddies. Whether they post constructively or not, the Merit givers find a way to merit the post. Now, think of how many merits the OP would've got were the poster a username like Theymos, etc. I am not saying the mentioned users aren't great posters but they seem to be famous here. That's my observation and I stand to be corrected.

2) People think that giving merit will decrease their merit count.
This is very ludicrous. But then there are certainly people who have this mindset, no doubt.
7088  Other / Meta / Re: Members applying in merit campaigns without being eligible on: March 09, 2018, 12:58:47 PM
Dont you have anything better to do? For example participating in campaigns to earn some money...
Stop wasting your time on things that don't affect you!
People are joining everything nowadays without reading the rules anyway.
Don't be such a dickhead berating someone who is pointing out an aberration. The OP isn't out of line with what he just mentioned. From your comment, I hope you aren't one of the defaulters.

The OP's observation is also a point of concern for me. And I would want the campaign managers to punish those who don't read or stick to the OP by tagging them spammers. This measure will help reduce such blind stupidity. Even after Yahoo made an effort explaining the Merit level requirement as criteria before any participant could join in (some of) his campaigns, some still dont keep to it. Very annoying, I must say.
7089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gox crashing bitcoin Why not just delete their wallet from the blockchain? on: March 09, 2018, 11:30:27 AM
If someone has bitcoins in their possession, and wishes to sell them, why should they be prohibited from doing so?
That was exactly my thought. Just a mere 17% holding let go and people are already crying wolf and calling for a kind of punishment? That is ludicrous. Well, I am yet to see any breach of market ethics. So, I should continue to keep a particular stock even when I know I need to offload it? Yes, no doubt that action may have triggered a further dip for the bitcoin. But are we acting like we don't know that Bitcoin is very weak at this time?
7090  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical analysis on: March 09, 2018, 10:27:42 AM
I am a huge fan of TA, even to the detriment of fundamental analysis. Of course as someone with a bit knowledge of forex trading, I know that TA works in tandem with fundamentals. It has never been the other way round. FA moves TA and can make a mess of any TA setup. We saw that at play late last year when all technical indices were broken and rubbished as Bitcoin continued to soar out of reach. News is key when looking at TA.

Therefore, applying TA alone isnt enough certainty that the set up you have presented us will surely go as planned.
7091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does investing on ICO now is a good time? on: March 09, 2018, 04:41:15 AM
But when this ICO released and been unlocked in the market, the ICO price drastically goes below. And give me a bad profit.
What do you mean by, "...give you a bad profit" That comment is somehow ambiguous. I have also had an ICO I bought into last year at $0.80 but the coin hit the market below that price and has since remained below. Currently, it is at $0.30

Generally, business is a risk. The earlier some of us here understood it the better a peace of mind we have. On its own, ICOs are like having an investment in mid air or in a dream. Sometimes you wake up to realise how bad a dream it is. There is a 80-90 chance of getting scammed. Only invest money you can afford to lose.
7092  Other / Meta / Re: What Happens If You Get a Merit in a Deleted Thread? on: March 08, 2018, 03:59:40 AM
I am sending this link to OP so he doesn't need repeating questions which answers have already been given previously. Link to all you need to know on the Merit system: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0
7093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lots of recycled threads on: March 08, 2018, 02:21:07 AM
i have noticed that our forum is flooded with threads that are created by newbies that [Mostly] post recycled topics,
This is where the mods and forum staff come in and so many threads and posts get deleted. The mods have been doing that lately. Though sadly we can say this has really overwhelmed them and it now looks like they sleep on their jobs. Most times, even the questions asked already have been answered but the lazy noobs won't want to make their research upon entering the forums. Most people don't bother to read. Even read information before their noses.
7094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you support the Use of Bitcoin as a National Currency? on: March 07, 2018, 07:52:06 PM
My country does not place a restriction on Bitcoin use and transactions even though the government in the past has warned the citizens to be weary about it. However, as sweet as that may seem I still would not like btc to be proposed a national currency for my country. Everyone isn't literate enough to understand the tech about btc.

Also, allowing btc as a country's national currency is synonymous with allowing a mentally deranged fellow on the steering wheels of an automobile. Expect any erratic behaviour.
7095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: about airdrop ? can be trust? on: March 07, 2018, 03:46:25 PM
Yes, airdrops are free but there are repercussions that sometimes come with that supposedly freebies. There is the possibility of getting malwares from the airdrop site while filling the form. Again, email of participants are often gathered and sold to phishing sites later. And that is how you get a lot of spam mails. Now, you see that airdrops aren't without hassles.
7096  Economy / Economics / Re: Companies that are scary on: March 07, 2018, 09:29:28 AM

Of all the large companies that are now large internet players, do anyone particularly scare you in terms of how you data and track could be used? Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, …?

Which of the listed above doesn't scare s? All does. The Internet is a place of lost privacy and we should understand this but I think the Mark Zuckerberg team overdoes it with preying eyes. The watchful Big Brother of the past does no longer sit in Russia. Now BB watches us from the devices in our hands.
7097  Other / Meta / Re: Banning system unfair? on: March 07, 2018, 04:21:33 AM
and the only reason i can think of for getting banned is that I suddenly had a lot more activity than before...
"More posts", I think you meant. Forum Activities are automatically updated every fortnight and no one can cheat with that.
7098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mercedes-Benz To Launch Crypto Coin. Good News To Crypto Space? on: March 07, 2018, 03:07:58 AM
I was going through crypto news headline early today and I spot this new that Mercedes-Benz presented its own Blockchain-based digital currency called MobiCoin at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona

What is your thought about the news?

Good news to the cryptos space Or It doesn't change anything ?

Well, I think that does add to the curve in the cryptosystem. It siould be a good thing. But really I am not surprised to say the least. Every company wants to make more profit and the blockchain technology affords them that opportunity. Mercedes entry will open more admiration from the automotive industry and we expect more to come in as time goes by.
7099  Economy / Services / Re: ALAX.io Signature Campaign on: March 06, 2018, 07:55:22 PM
Payment received. Thanks.

Edited:

Payments have been sent to those who qualified
Payment recieved sir, thank you. Will the campaign continue? Or would it end now?
Why the rush in asking that. I guess you cant wait to remove logo for another campaign. Stop fixating your mind on posting to get paid. Just contribute to the forum to help grow it.
7100  Other / Meta / Re: I Will not pay even a cent on: March 06, 2018, 03:06:43 PM
When i first time registered on this forum i saw that i have BANNED! And they are DEMAND to ME TO PAY THEM BITCOINS!! I dont care if someone was evil with same IP, i have nothing to do with him, but now i'am evil too!!! I will not pay even a cent to ##########!! Even if their ###########(moderators) always delete my posts i still will not pay!
I think the problem was that as at the time you chose a username, someone else who was banned had it. So, invariably the forum would think you wanted to reactivate it or something. And as such placed a stiff payment penalty on it. But with another username, you just got registered - without any payment (as is the practice here except you are go for the Copper Membership). This also happened to someone I introduced to this forum late last year but he got it later without paying a dime.

As for your posts getting deleted by mods, it could mean you were posting irrelevant replies to topics or in mega or duplicated threads . You may want to stop the above to enable your posts stand and count.
