Ponzis or HYIPs are allowed under current forum policy in the Gambling section. As for Cloud Mining companies how do we differentiate between legit ones and ponzis?

This community is far too eager to engage in mob action, and the staff foster this atmosphere. Since they can quite literally just negate any negatives they receive, this is not a problem for them. This is having an extremely destructive effect on this community, and will continue to do so as long as staff support and condone these kinds of blind inquisitions against users with littler or no evidence or reason. It is a whole lot easier to destroy a community than to build one, unfortunately the staff probably wont realize this until it is too late.

Give it a rest, this is now getting tiring. All you post here is to lament how bad the staff are manipulating the trust system, and if you continue  like this others are not going to value your opinion. Just my 2 satoshis.

Agreed, but he's never going to get it or realise how wrong/hypocritical he is. Best to just ignore his posts on the subject to be honest.

Campaign is now full. See Neotux's post above.
7125  Economy / Services / Re: Bitstarz.com January Signature Campaign – up to 0.1 BTC and more per month on: January 03, 2015, 07:04:32 AM
Grin. By my count all 25 x 0.1 and 10 x 0.05 slots have now been taken (assuming everyone is accepted).

This is a great campaign without lots of stupid rules ,normally they accept all the people who have submitted a application.

Each to his own. Extra rules and stipulations do complicate things for everyone, but if the owner or person running it wants to do that then it is up to them and participants have to play buy the stated rules or face the consequences if caught. Other campaigns are available and people are free to make up their own mind which to join.

Yes, newbies can have positive trust and you get it by doing trades with trusted members on the default trust list, but you shouldn't seek to just build this up to appear 'trusted' as that can appear dodgy. Just do trades naturally and you will gain the feedback over time. It is much more important to become a familiar face and reputable member without than just having lots of feedback.

1) Thanks . who set trust members medorators ?
2) Can i ever be medorator in  this forum
3) Who is theymos and why he is the medorator
4) who own this forum , who create bitcoin.com site
5) Satoshi Nakamata is in this forum , what the problem with his account

1) theymos ultimately, but members of the default trust can add people to their trust list thus becoming trusted
2) possibly. Report lots of posts with a decent accuracy score and be an active community member and theymos may ask you eventually
3) theymos is the mac daddy and he is the admin just because  Cheesy
4) theymos essentially owns it or is in charge of the running, but legally or officially ownership is somewhat a grey area
5) satoshi used to post here but doesn't anymore. There is no problem with his account but I believe it is locked to stop attempted hackings. Satoshi could get it back if he wished by proving some decent evidence that it is infact him (pgp key, signing a message from known addresses etc).

obviously i m joining this

You were close to missing a spot haha. Think there's only a few slots left for Seniors now and Full Members slots are full so you best update the op ASAP. How will you be managing this thread unless you're going to be in control of the op account?
7129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am i being scammed on: January 03, 2015, 04:17:07 AM
People often try stall you with excuses like this when they're scamming you so yes, likely you've been scammed. You should always use escrow for deals like this. Please provide more details of the transaction here (user ID, transaction ID, PMs etc) or open a scam accusation with all the info in the Scam Accusation forum.

7131  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling Hero account for 0.7 btc only on: January 03, 2015, 04:06:47 AM
My offer 0.4

sorry, that is very low amount but thanks for your interest.

0.4 Is not low according to Current market.
Lots of accounts are now in the Market
Which is making price really down..
Average price for Full is 0.05
For Senior is 0.14
and Hero is 0.25

Where are you getting this info from? Prices do seem to be down slightly from what I gather, but not this cheap. Wouldn't even really be worth selling them for that as you can make more in signature campaigns. I also suspect accounts will become more valuable again soon with the return of the PD campaign and others as well.

Please heed what theymos said about this and don't hassle his family or whatnot. This is probably better left to theymos or someone with better connections to be honest. I doubt it will easily be recoverable so you're likely just wasting your time.

I am aware of the situation. I am trying to recover it and if I somehow recover it(probably won't Roll Eyes), I will give you 1BTC. If I forgot, PM me! Smiley

Judging from this thread, detective work doesn't seem to be one of your talents. Tongue

Haha.
7134  Economy / Services / Re: Bitstarz.com January Signature Campaign – up to 0.1 BTC and more per month on: January 03, 2015, 03:47:45 AM
Nice to see another fixed-rate campaign. Haven't seen one in a while.

Movie (if participating in competition): The Guns of Navarone

Movie if taking part in the contest: The Shawshank Redemption

Movie: True Lies

Lol fail. You're meant to put Bitstarz in the title. The Bitstarz Redemption etc.
7135  Economy / Services / Re: Bitstars.net Signature Campaign – up to 0.1 BTC and more per month on: January 03, 2015, 03:42:10 AM
There's a new thread for thread for the January campaign: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=911992.0

Seems to be slots left for Senior/Hero but filling fast.
7136  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Sr. Member account, profit in 2 months! on: January 03, 2015, 03:28:47 AM

because i think with new forum software admin will work on controlling of spam and scam
and disabling multiple accounts can be an option
just guessing but always wanted to be on safe side

is there any indication from the administration suggesting that this is possible? otherwise this is all just speculation. i don't think they'll regulate multiple accounts in the future.

No. It's not going to happen. Impossible to do and many users have alt accounts for valid reasons. It would be unfair to punish everyone and too time consuming to even start policing.
7137  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Bitcointalk.org forum accounts - Inventory Updated 26/12/14 on: January 02, 2015, 10:22:18 PM
That's irrelevant to anything I said. Accounts can be recovered regardless of how safe you think you're making them.
7138  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Bitcointalk.org forum accounts - Inventory Updated 25/11/14 on: January 02, 2015, 10:15:41 PM
Be careful, ACCTseller and Quickseller are the same person. They sell disputed/ hacked accounts and then take no responsibility afterwards. You cannot participate in signature campaigns with negative rep.

THERE IS NO ROI. I have now lost 1.1 BTC to this fraud.

A SCAM thread has been opened: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=884261.0

If you want genuine accounts with chance of 0 fraud than pm me.I sell accounts with the email account associated with it.So you have everything to yourself.Nothing to worry.

That doesn't secure them very much. In fact, it could make them less secure if they don't change the email (you could gain access to the original email via secret questions or whatnot). Accounts here can still be recovered by the admins etc as well.

Oh no you have it all wrong.I use escrow on my deals. And I let the buyer change every single detail including questions, answers and passwords. So actually there is no chance of fraud in my accounts.

No I don't have it wrong, you do. You claimed there's no chance of fraud because you give them the email and that is wrong and also gives them a false sense of security. Regardless of them changing all the details an account can still be recovered by signing an address associated to that account even after all those things have been changed, so there is still a chance of fraud on your part or even potentially the escrow used.
7139  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & number of posts on: January 02, 2015, 08:22:30 PM
Log-on time has nothing to do with activity. And you have to be actively browsing for the time to go up. For activity, simply put you get 14 points every two week period. You need to make at least one post in every period to collect those points. Next period starts on Tuesday and you can get another 14 points then.
7140  Other / Meta / Re: Who is the best poster of 2014 ? on: January 02, 2015, 06:13:06 PM
Thousands of people created millions of thread in BitcoinTalk in 2014. Some of them were very interesting and enlightening. Some enriched us with its data and analysis. Standing on the end of 2014, whom do you think was the best poster of 2014 ? Please make your judgement by quality, not quantity Wink

...It would be great if you mention the preferred posts of your favorite poster. Smiley

hum..
this could be a interesting question...

maybe theymos could do a poll and assign some reward to the first, second and third qualified!!!

Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink

That would be really shady...we aren't a bank where the top ten traders get +10% reward or so Cheesy

but bitcoin alk do not have some fund to promote forum activity???

I thought that bitcointalk have funds available for this.
Also, I did not think at high awards.
I thought something like 0.5btc for the first, 0.25btc for the second and 0.1btc the third ..
or something like this...
and this would only be once a year !!!
 Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink

They have the funds, just really not for to 'promote forum activity' in such a way. I guess maybe some yearly competitions could be fun though this forum doesn't really seem the type to dish out money via such giveaways. I think if it was to happen it would have to be for something that couldn't be exploited and mere votes/voting could unfortunately.
