Paid scamfast for a batch 2 sierra in sept of 2013. This was to be delivered in november of 2013, but was instead delivered mid april of 2014. Nearly a total loss theft of 55btc.

Black Arrow was selling feb 24th delivery. I've heard the horror stories from Butterfly Labs customers. I'm also hearing stories about Advanced Mining Technology not delivering.

Today I read that KnCMiner one of the companies that is actually delivering just had an entire batch of it's customers miners smashed up by it's shipping company.

Something stinks here.

“We will simply assume that every card was damaged in shipment even if it arrived undamaged. We will send out to every customer who had a 3TH Jupiter or several already arrive, enough cards to replace their entire collection.” -- KnC

So I would get double my hashing power if bust out the soldering iron and re-attach the loose caps? Awsome.
7143  Economy / Speculation / Re: is Bitcoin a wave or a particle? on: April 29, 2014, 12:13:51 PM
Bitcoin is a particle ... a Tachyon to be precise. It travels faster than the speed of light and backwards in time. This is how so many people in this forum are able to predict the future price of Bitcoin.

I won't believe that light has 0 mass but, a tachyon would have to be mass-less by definition. Not having mass would seem to exclude it from being a particle.

Consider space-time as a four-dimensional liquid crystal and uniform collective vibrations in it's lattice at a single frequency to be the normal mode. Tachyons would be arbitrary lattice vibrations that create a superposition on the elementary vibrations.

While the normal mode is clearly waves the collective excitations that are tachyons would have particle-like emergent properties.

Could Bitcoins really be made of these quasi-particles?

KnC delivered product, made a lot of money and mined a whole lot of coins. What an awesome company!

I'm guessing the delays in fiat transfer greatly slows the arbitrage between exchanges. Bitstamp has had a $10+ lead for some time.

Bitstamp is currently the most bullish exchange at $437 and never hit $420 in the last 24h. 'looks like it was a bears only party at BTC-e.

I've been trying to follow all the posts but missed something...

Is BA officially slipping B1 orders X-3's again ... from May 1 to May 8?  I didn't get any email notification from BA ... the latest email I received from BA was on Jan 29 stating that they are slipping B1 shipments until May 1.  So, is this another official slip?

Power Supply for the 3rd 1TH/s module:  Is there an official spec on this?  Should I be getting a Corsair 750?  1200?  Is it even an ATX PSU?

I see the spec for the X-3 (the 2 TH/s version) says that the Power Consumption is 1050W ... Is that 525W per each of the modules?  So will the 3rd one will also require 525W?  That's less than the 0.75W/GHs they are advertising.  What gives?

Lastly -- how's the 5 days of FREE hosting going to work and when does it begin?  How do we provide the pool information?

Thanks in advance to all Smiley

7149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for women on: April 28, 2014, 12:02:08 AM
There's a mountain of posts from "pussy whipped" guys who've been forced out of bitcoin by their significant other.

Remember she's looking for two guys.

1. An alpha male to father her children.

2. A beta male to support and raise the children.

The alpha male is of-coarse "the man" whose currency is fiat money and to whom she is absolutely loyal to.

The beta male who she considers to be in a homosexual relationship with will be "pussy whipped" into submission and any rebelliousness such as using bitcoins will not be tolerated.

Chances that they will find out what happen are losing on a value every day.

A mystery of a flight 370.

I see a book and a movie in a 3 years from now.

It'll be a pretty dull and boring movie if they don't find it.

I'm sure they'll fill the plot with fantastic bermuda triangles and alien spaceships with massive laser cannons.
7154  Economy / Speculation / Re: is Bitcoin a wave or a particle? on: April 27, 2014, 03:20:40 AM
A Bitcoin doesn't change over time i.e. it's always = 1. This rules out the possibility that bitcoin is a wave.

The mass of a bitcoin = 0 i.e. it's entirely virtual. This rules out the possibility that it's a particle.

And if you want to argue that photons have 0 mass and are particles, well just go ahead and prove that.

7155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, what does a bitcoin WEIGH? on: April 27, 2014, 02:45:51 AM
It's simple to calculate...

The net difference is 0 because data isn't stored as an electrical charge. The data is stored by the orientation of a magnetic coating on the surface of the disk. When the head energizes it simply acts as an electromagnet and changes the magnetic orientation on the face of the platter... A binary 1 is observed when the positive pole is facing the head and a 0 is when the negative pole is facing the head.

So the weight and mass of a Bitcoin is 0.

Materialists don't believe in anything non-physical. They'll find some underhanded way of discrediting your logic. Failing that they'll resort to ad-hoc personal attacks.
7156  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst Movies You Have Ever Watched on: April 27, 2014, 02:23:05 AM
STREET FIGHTER THE MOVIE - I love to watch games adaptations. But it pains me that most of them are crappy as hell. And there still hasn't been an outright good game-to-film adaptation, but even by the standards of the genre, this one's a pretty poor effort. Since the film is PG-13, none of the violence that breaks out with predictable regularity is particularly believable or engrossing. Meh.

+1
