For those that are worried that their private keys would be at risk of being copied.  The unit will ship with keys installed that hold a balance.  You will need to enter in your private keys via the web ui.  The web ui is also where you will have full access to the wallet, as your normally would in a QT wallet.

For the record...ThePeePs and iGotSpots are the only two that will post official information about the Snowball

Anything said by anyone other than ThePeePs or I about the Snowball are not official statements

I agree, Tranz is a top developer for sure, and very devoted.

How is iGotSpots so "crypto-fabulous" if you don't mind me asking?  I am not all that familiar with a lot of people here on bitcointalk.

Most of what I've done to help coins I previously had nothing to do with or for the scene in general has been credited to others. I'm ok with that. I don't mind being unknown to new people

Yes

Apparently the lawsuit is real, but are the claims? That is the question.

Not that I have experienced. Most likely just fishing for clients

Crypto ---> Month ---> Moon  Huh

 Shocked

i can't deny this proof !
i knew there was a conspiracy in there somewhere and ya of course it's the moon figures  Roll Eyes

been watching a LOT of shows on TV about the moon lately and this may be tied to the various "created" objects on it ?
like the satellite and the big gun or nuclear reactor or the bridge's or various piping etc.
Aliens put moon bases & stuff on it !
And now they want to control our Altcoins too !

Fun fact: They say the moon is hollow. Heard echos from landers

(If you say we never went I will strangle you)

I think my wallet is possessed.   The Balance is changing and not correct.  Never shows staking, even though it is.  Sometimes shows coins under the stake field in the overview panel.   I'm not worried about it, it always shows back up.  I have a feeling that one coin is being held for a stake but just not reported.  This isn't just a one off occurrence, I've seen the incorrect balance several times.  Usually I'll see something in the stake field.  But every so often that field  is zero and the balance is off by around 1 coin.

Strange.  Anyone else seeing this?  Anyone else staking on there own?

Check getinfo in debug. Does it match the Overview tab?

Unfortunately the balance is correct at the moment.  The staking indicator is not on, and it says no mature coins.  When I see it again I'll do the getinfo.

     Thanks

getinfo will always be accurate  Smiley

-Mods-  This is a Staking unit... nothing about mining, so why this thread was moved here?  Huh
i think this sub forum doesn't bring exposure enough for this staking hardware, not a mining hardware.
The people that could really be interested with it don't visit this part of the forum.

We have decided to allow this device to come ready for use with other coins

Feel free to shill your coins in that other thread. We need input on which coins would be beneficial to support
7171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The Maieutice Snowball | Game Changing Hardware on: October 23, 2014, 03:05:28 AM
We have decided to allow this device to come ready for use with other coins. We have been asking for the last few days which coins we should add, but were not impressed with the response at a chance for shilling. Therefore, if you or your community would like these units for your chain, there will be a small one-time set up cost. The price for the first 3 coins will be .5 BTC, followed by the usual price of 1 BTC per chain added. Payment will not be made until we provide proof of a working unit with that coin

What does this mean? These units will be shipped to you ready to sync to the coin of your choice. Regardless of which coin you choose from our selection at checkout, payment will only be accepted in Maieuticoin (Pre-order Weeks 1-5 will also accept Bitcoin). All Week 0 orders will be shipped ready for Maieuticoin

Feel free to shill for your coins here now. The more input I have, the more the devs of those coins will see that they have users interested in this option

Is this a good time for me to shamelessly plug The Snowball?

Yes.
Saw Snowball a day or so ago.......brilliant idea, Spots.
I'm guessing it's RaspPi based, you got specs for it somewhere?
And can you run Nxt on it...?

Thanks. Exciting project. We will have more tech details when Week 1 goes live. Currently we have Week 0 pre-orders open until Sunday at a very low price, but they are very limited

We have already sold 10% of the units we have planned for Week 0. That price is good through Sunday unless we reach our internally decided limit

Will this hardware still support other staking coins or has that been squashed?

These units are very modifiable
